The Staff here are incredibly helpful and pleasant..the food is outstanding and I cannot recommend it enough
Just back from ormonde hotel lovely staff and very friendly staff food very good rooms lovely can't wait to go back very clean hotel and the spa treatment was heaven tank you for a lovely stay
Amazing place. A bit pricy but it'sworth it. We have booked the standard family room and they upgraded us to superior! Great breakfast too. If you want to use the pool, bring your own swimming cup, or else you will have to buy one at the hotel.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the exercise facility was really great.
Nice hotel, good location, spacious bedroom, bathroom to refresh big problem of window insulation, heating and hot water.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and always ready to help. The food was delicious on every day of our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and would certainly come back here the next time we visit Kilkenny
Parking is 5 a day. Multistorey car park has high limit 1.9m, outdoor car park is next to it. Full Irish breakfast is great, plenty fruits and juices. Lovely place to stay. Indoor pool is included.
Very bad customer service, rang twice first lady when i ask price she just hand upb, and second did the same.. So rude
Friendly & helpful staff, beautiful & tasty food. Called in here for an evening meal with my parents and found a beautiful bar with restaurant area up a few steps. We had a drink while we waited for evening menu. This menu is more costly for same day menu items but does give a larger choice. I ordered goat cheese mousse & beetroot. It was fresh & tasty. I enjoyed a vegetarian risotto dish for mains which was crunchy (the perfect al-dente to my taste) and tasty. If any complaint, serving was too big as couldn't finish. Parent received sirloin steak and Thai Red curry. Both dishes were beautifully presented and no complaints. Would visit again. Average hotel prices for drink and food.
We were treated like VIP's from the time we arrived. Couldnt fault this hotel or staff. The reception staff Stephen and lady in bakery dept Helen went out of their way when stephen realise we didnt make breakfast. They orgainised tea scones and croissants . A big thankyou to them.
Is perfect great free WiFi love it
I love room 125
I've stayed here 5 times and it's a great location, very central. Staff are nice.
nice place lovly pools . nice base for visiting historic kilkenny
Fantastic , very helpful staff , and breakfast was lovely . Very well situated in the heart of kk , will be back 10/10
Pros: Really good location, admittedly you can never be far from anywhere in Kilkenny, but it really us right on top of the castle and high street. A nice quiet modern room and the buffet breakfast was really good, parking is in a multi story opposite.
Cons: The foyer whilst looking like a nice lounge area seems to perpetually smell strongly of fish pie, fish seems to be constantly on the menu, and they don't seem to keep the doors between the kitchen and the restairant shut, so forget all thoughts of relaxing with a nice coffee or something from the bar unless you really like the smell of fish.
This is a fabulous hotel right in the heart of Kilkenny. Smashing leisure centre with the biggest hotel pool I've seen. Great rooms, comfy beds and snug bedding. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout hotel. Excellent food for lunch and dinner in bar and resturant and very very reasonable priced. Good breakfast each morning. I would certainly have given this 5 stars had there been more of a choice on the childrens food menu (something proper other than sausages, burgers, gougons, pasta with tomato sauce) my kids love their food and the experience of eating out and looking at the menu. My other little grumble was paying for the carpark. The reduced rate is acknowledged but I feel if you spending hundreds in a hotel to cover your stay, food and drink parking should be completely complementary.
Spotless hotel great staff.... breakfast could be better
Right in the city. Free parking. Rooms clean and spacious. Lovely breakfast . Reception staff friendly and helpful.
Great hotel, very well located. Nice clean rooms. Breakfast ok.
Staff were lovely, food was nice, room was a let down, carpet badly needed replacing, I could not walk on it in my bare feet, I did say to them and they did offer another room, but had unpacked. The breakfast room was cramped and dark but food was nice
So we can not recommend this hotel. Would even advise against it because we have not experienced something like that. First, the room was overpriced for the night. And second, we even upgraded to a junior suite and the room was just a disaster.
Carpets with so many stains. Very eckeliger smell in the room and also in the bathroom everything dirty and partly moldy the joints. The balcony was completely stung by the pigeons and it was really a debacle. The next disappointment at breakfast is Cocoa extra and not included in the price and the tea water we ordered was yellow. So all in all a disaster and the staff only said we will turn it to the manager. No discount or anything. Sorry people but not like that.
Great city centre location with parking and leisure centre
Friendly greeting, excellent food ,alround enjoyable
Only one lift to the 4th floor which only worked intermittently .No air con in room just a fan . Key cards kept deactivating . Had to go up and down 4 floors of stair numerous times to fix the key cards . Room was small . Felt we paid more then it was worth . Definetly not a 4 star . Gym and pool decent though
We have been in this hotel for one night. The parking garage is opposite the hotel, the hotel itself has a great location. It's very fast at Kilkenny Castle and in town. From the outside a very nice hotel, the rooms even without special features. At first glance, the room was clean, on closer inspection were dust layers on the baseboards and lime deposits on the fittings in the bathroom to recognize.
Location of the hotel: 5 stars
Hotel: 3 stars
Nice central location and plenty of room in the foyer eating area
I like the ormond nice staff and a great man singing there Saturday evenings. Only thing he doesn't be there long enough. Thumbs up for him though.
Impressive hotel. I note some negative reviews, but our experience was very positive.
One of my favourites in kilkenny again staff that care
out room was very cold.. need to be upgraded..especially the heating system.
Very nice and clean simple hotel. Staff was amazing. ( had welcome anniversary gift for us) breakfast and dinner were delisious.
Fab break. Fab staff. Super breakfast! Will definitely return!
Had a lovely stay at the Ormonde fabulous hotel... helpful friendly staff and food fab..highly recommend it!!!
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was wonderful!
We stayed at the Ormande Hotel Kilkenny recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We can not fault anything. The Reception/Front of House girls, Jacinta, Anita and Aoife are a credit to the Hotel and a real asset..Note to Management. Will definitely be back..
Quite comfortable beds, with great facilities, especially the swimming pool. The WiFi is a bit slow, however.
Great place with lots of potential but I found it too expensive for a sleep only as I wasn't aware it wasn't B&B until I was told in the morning and they didn't hesitate to overcharge me for a plain breakfast. Great room size and very comfortable bed. Bad view and poor for the noise.
Great location. The rooms were lovely and the staff were super nice
Needs to improve cleanliness of rooms if it wants to hold onto it's 4 star status. Otherwise very nice staff and comfortable bed
Friendly staff , room was ok to good , pool was good breakfast was lovely , the location is very good
It's got 5 stars as always, they have to loose them! Well they didn't loose anything, staff are brilliant, so friendly and flexible, rooms are very comfortable but no good views, but you shouldn't be there to look out a window! It is centrally positioned and a very short walk to all the sites, I'm not docking anything but hoping that they read this review ( YOU HAVE TO GET ON TOP OF THE MAINTENANCE BETWEEN THE SPA AND PARTS OF THE HOTEL) If they don't it will be a different review next time!
Staff helpful and considerate. Room was spacious and comfortable. Spa and facilities were great. Lovely food. Hotel was spotless.
Excellent place really helpful and polite staff enjoyable outing
Great hotel centrally located with good leisure centre.
When we arrived the lobby was gorgeous, the staff was wonderful and we were told we were going to wait for an upgraded room. We came back for our upgraded room, that was last upgraded in the 70's. Everything was dingy, the furniture was chipped and the bathroom looked dirty, even though it was clean. We realised the room did not have air conditioning so we went to the front desk to ask for a fan and about the supposed upgraded room. We honestly thought they'd made a mistake and they gave us a b.s. explanation of what upgraded meant. An hour later we still had not received our fan and had a call again. And the kicker was our hotel room was right over the outdoor reception area where they'd had a wedding that night and let it go until 4 a.m. in the morning. Stay away from this hotel!
A lovely room. Good size rooms. Very clean. Food quality was OK. Staff were very helpful. Good spot for work meetings.
Nice Hotel right in the middle of Kilkenny just off the Parade. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly Staff. Spacious.
Friendly, light hotel right in the middle of the city.
Really disappointed in this hotel. Others on our tour said the same. Would not stay there again.
Fantastic hotel right in the middle of Kilkenny. Parking opposite has plenty of space and is reasonably priced. The rooms are well furnished and over the 10 years I ve been staying here always looks recently decorated and clean.
A nice hotel with a lively lobby areas and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and spacious.
Very well placed for the town and parking too, though watch out if you are in a higher vehicle as the majority of parking is in a multi story car park. They have a gym and serve a good selection at breakfast. Plenty of nice places to eat in the evening just a short walk away, if you want something a bit different to the hotel food.
Room was horrible, hotel was very unclean in general with unhelpful staff specifically the gym staff, with one woman in particular being extremely rude I believe her to be the gym manager.
Great hotel food in the bar is really good would recomend the steak sandwitch peopel are verry kind pool is not freezing best hotel in ireland
Very central. Bed was very comfortable. Good deal for local parking.
80 people ate dinner there and those who chose beef found it was tough!
Food is great, staff are friendly, reasonable price for quality food, they have a leisure centre accessed across the road which is run by very friendly staff, and the gym have great amenities.
Very central hotel within walking distance of all sites and restaurants. Rooms recently upgraded to a high standard with very comfortable beds. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast.
Nice Hotel, Great Place to meet Family @ Friends, Carpark , Shopping Nearby
Great hotel with large function rooms capable of holding large events successfully
Beautiful , situated in the heart of the city walking distance to everything, very nice bar and the staff was always polished
Needs a lick of paint & a overhall of room fixtures. The place just ended up feeling a bit grotty due to broken windows & bathroom fixtures & general grubbyness, not what you would expect for a 340 two night b&b stay (not including dinners)
Nice and friendly .... Love the artwork...relaxing place to meet for light lunch and a .chat
Lovely friendly hotel. Helpful and happy staff. Cosy room. Lovely food. Delighted with my visit. Would suggest the boiler / heating system or whatever hums and thrums right into the night could be looked at. Difficult trying to get to sleep. My only complaint!!
Large rooms, excellent facilities, and unfortunately let down by poorly trained staff. Small issues add up, receptionist didn't give all the required info on check in, had to ask what time breakfast was, bar person was put out when I asked for a glass of water and the most annoying issue was when I requested an iron and after 30 mins of waiting went to reception and said I'd grab was told that I couldn't and there was an ice bucket which needed to be delivered prior to my request. It's all small issues but they add up to poor staff training and a lack of awareness of customer requirements.
