One of the worst sales experiences. My wife and I visited the dealership we went to the front desk and ask for a sales person to help us and in comes Mr. Edwin he basically takes us to his office shows us build a toyota price on the internet and says this is the price of the car. I was like if that is the price there is no point to a dealership. He was not willing to give us offers. It seemed like he did not want to sell us a car. totally rude and treated us like we knew nothing. Will never visit this place and will be buying my Toyota elsewhere.

Since all my friends confirmed that the subject of the after-sales service is bad and that the transaction will change after the first minute of signing the contract, and this is what I found also in some comments

I recently went to Gateway Toyota to have new wiper blades installed. I drove right into the service bay and Troy immediately assisted me, he had new wiper blades installed in less than 15 minutes. He then saw how dirty my vehicle was and had it washed. Awesome customer service as usual from Troy!!

I had an amazing top notch service at Gateway Toyota. I walked in to trade in my 4 runner and buy a pre owned Jeep SRT. Ashwin was very accomodating and what impressed me the most was their unpressurised services and with in few hours I was ready to leave with my purchase. There were few things I wanted to be done on that vehicle and guess what I was assured to drop off the vehicle according to my schedule and the job will be done. I am immensely impressed with their quick service and "going out of their way " attitude. Thank you Ashwin, The sales Manager, The Finance and Todd. You guys have made it so much easier for me. I highly recommend Gateway Toyota. The best dealership with a well chosen team in Edmonton. Thank you once again guys.

Dont like how the sales reps at this dealership sa...

Dont like how the sales reps at this dealership say " Toyota doesn't think you need blind spot monitoring at that price.". I don't care what Toyota thinks.

After living with the corolla for a year, I have come to the conclusion that, This car is only good in the city. The road noise is unbearable, its so loud, theres not enough sound proofing.

The female finance manager was awful during the signing of the car. I had 3 year extended warranty of my trade up and I know it transferable but she threw it out the window. It would be worth disciplining her

It's been 10 years since I've walked into a dealer...

It's been 10 years since I've walked into a dealership to purchase a new vehicle. So of course, things have changed since then. I went in with my guard up. No need when arriving at Gateway. From the moment you walk into Gateway, they make you feel at ease. Instead of them choosing a vehicle they thought was best for me, they took my husband and I around to choose for ourselves. There was no sales pressure at all. The best sales experience EVER! I will definitely recommend anyone wanting to purchase a Toyota, to visit Gateway.

Don t buy from there. Sales person told me one price, I said I would think about it. Come back the next day, and was told, There s no way I offered that to you. by the same person.

I know that it s a switch and bait tactic but leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Other Toyota dealerships didn t stoop so low and I bought from Mayfield instead.

Poor customer service!!! I wouldnt recommend for my friends... I would be happy if they train up their staffs well!
We went to gateway Toyota on Oct 18-2016,we asked for used ravs and used venza,so the sales man escorted us to ms.Fallon McCormick,and told us that she is gonna show us few vehicles.she brought the keys of 3 ravs 4s ,we test drove one and initially she want us to test drive inside the parking lot itself,but we said we want to get the feel of the vehicle so we have to take it outside,aftr we came back we asked her to show another one she refused to show the vehicle also she said all ravs runs the same ,(I understand if it's new but we were looking for used )then we asked her to show venZa she is like guys u have to make Ur mind first ,which one u need coz we r closing in 45 mins,a and also she sounded very rude and consent want to show any vehicles,she jus want the buyers to choose from what the show and buy it without test driving.
My only request to the people is try not to do business with this kind of attitude people and also encourage toyota to train staffs more about customer service,there is lots of competitors who wants business please don't loose Ur business hiring these kind of staffs..

I bought my Tundra in another province from a family friend and was told to only have it serviced at Gateway - I was certainly given solid advice. Troy et al are amazing! Xenon light upgrade, supercharger, TRD dual exhaust, and likely a future big brake package (have a habit of warping the rotors ;) ). They have always taken care of me there, and have taken care of everybody I have sent them. Thanks guys - you rock!

I really had a good experience with Gateway Toyota. David was really nice. He was very helpful and he provided me with information that I have to know before purchasing. He gave a good deal and package for the car that i really wanted. Overall, it was a great experience and very satisfactory dealing with them. I do recommend them if you want to buy a new car for yourself!

My service experience at Gateway Toyota has been nothing short of spectacular thanks to Doris Eacott. I have been dealing with Doris for several years now and she has always come through for me even on short notice sometimes, sorry :-) and always with a beautiful smile!

Doris is a pleasure to do business with, her calm demeanor in very stressful situations is a breath of fresh air. Her ability to multi task and ensure the happiness of the customer is very rare these days in the service industry.

This review is about Gateway Toyota s service department. I have had 4 Toyotas so far. Years ago I took my Corolla there and had a very bad experience there. After that, I switched my dealerships and started going to Sherwood Park Toyota for parts and services, even though I live 5 minutes away from Gateway Toyota. And now I have been going to Sherwood Park Toyota for 10+ years. They are certainly better than Gateway Toyota. Anyways, I wanted to give them another shot so I took my brand new rav4 I purchased 2 weeks ago into Gateway Toyota due to automatic power locking issues. The service adviser told me that it will take 10-15 minutes in the shop for someone to reprogram the computer so he asked me to book an other appointment for two days later, so I did. I show up to the appointment right on time and explained the situation again. Despite the appointment, the advisor told me that it will take at least 2 hours before my turn comes. I said ok I will wait in the lounge, and I understand that schedules get shifted and they run late once in a while so I said fine. I had to cancel my other appointment because I had to wait more than the expected waiting time and didn't have my car to drive to the other appointment. 3 hours later, she comes and tells me that they tried multiple times to re-program it but it just wouldn t work, and they didn t have enough time to fully diagnose the system and I would have to leave my vehicle for the whole day for them to do a full checkup and diagnostics. So after wasting 3 hours of my time with no results to show basically they had no idea what the problem was, oh and my vehicle came out with a few good sized about 6-8 inches scratches on the hood on a brand new vehicle purchased two weeks ago. The place is full non professionals, very unethical, staff is unknowledgeable, and everyone just seems to hate their jobs. They are rude and treat you like you are worthless. This would be my last time at Gateway Toyota and I will be telling all my friends and family to stay away from them as well.

This place was horrible!!!!!
Went in just to look around. They weren t pushy at first but later on when the paper work was on the table they tried to strong arm me! I refused the deals they were trying to impose on me.
(Also they will tell you this is the last time this deal is on) DONT FALL FOR IT!
Sales man calls in the manager to meet me and try to roll me over too.The sales manager seemed nice at first but then as soon as I turned the offers down he just throws his pen on the desk and walks out. No okay that s alright or okay well i hope you do come back. Nothing. Didn t even shake my hand after.
Also the the one young sales person was swearing during the entire time I was talking to him. Completely unprofessional!!
Never will I ever go there again!!!

Awful awful customer service, the manager was extremely rude. Went in today to test drive a SUV and they just assumed that you cannot afford a vehicle. They almost refused to work out the numbers the manager was reluctant and didn't want to work with me, gave me a ridiculous trade-in value, lost his temper so that I leave.

I have bought a car from them before and to experience this as a loyal customer it was very disappointing. Looks like Sherwood Toyota is getting my business.

I went in for a test drive (on Friday) and wasn't planning on buying a suv until I had cash to buy it, which would be shortly and this was told to the salesman...the next thing I know I put a deposit down and then sent to finance. I knew I wouldn't be able to finance and I told them this. I got a call Mon and financing said they are having issues securing a loan...they asked for more of a deposit or for a co signer....I said no to both as this was not a option and I was told I'd get a call back Tuesday. There was no call Tuesday (I got a call the following Tuesday after I put this review on)and they put the car back for sale which I wasn't upset about as I knew I wouldn't qualify. I had to email and text the salesman Wed and Thur to request my deposit back and finally got it back. There was a lack of communication which didn't sit well with me. If I had received a call saying the sale wouldn't go thru and my deposit would be refunded I wouldn't have been so upset. It is too bad it turned out this way but I can't purchase a vehicle from a place that doesn't communicate with me thru the whole process...I considered this a red flag and will be going to Sherwood Park Toyota when I purchase a new vehicle that's over $30,000.

My wife and I recently set out to purchase our first ever brand new car, something I was not looking forward to based on the countless horror stories I have heard from people when purchasing from a dealership. My wife decided on a 2013 RAV4 and so we started the search. After ending up at Gateway Toyota my previous concerns were almost immediately put at ease, we could not have asked for a smoother, more pleasant buying experience.
The entire staff from the top down treated us with respect and never once tried any sort of high pressure sales tactic, they were extremely knowledgeable about their products and happy to answer any and all questions. I was very happy with the final price and finance terms. The financing was laid out very clearly and I felt that Wayne from Finance truly had my best interests in mind, very easy to deal with and had things done in a matter of minutes.
The color/options were not available at the time, we were told they should have one in a week and sure enough a week later I got a call that our vehicle has arrived, right on time. We picked it up in the middle of a rain storm and Andrew, who looked after the final delivery for us, took the time to run through pretty much the entire vehicle with us while standing in the rain and cold. Great guy with awesome knowledge of the vehicle.
I highly recommend Gateway Toyota, great people and amazing service.

I purchased my vehicle from this dealership several years ago. I was very satisfied with both the salesman and vehicle I purchased.

However, my experience with the service and parts staff has been less than pleasant. For example, I recently came to the dealership to purchase touch up paint for my automobile. It took more than 15 mins for the front desk staff working in the parts and service department to acknowledge I was there (I was the only one waiting). Although I was clearly waiting on the parts side, the idiotic overweight blonde lady working on the service side asks if she can help me. I was able to respond as far as "Yes, I was hoping to purchase..." before she rudely cut me off and tells me she doesn't work for the parts deparment. Why in the world would you offer assistance then? Who is responsible for hiring this idiot?

I just wanted to take a minute to share my recent experience at Gateway Toyota. If I could rate them higher than 5 stars I would have. More specifically I had the pleasure of dealing with Jay Fink and Mike Tran. The moment I walked in I felt at ease with both Mike and Jay. They listened to my needs, answered my questions and took their time. Their knowledge and experience went far beyond any other dealership I had encountered. As a female, I dread buying a new vehicle but not once did I feel pressured, disrespect or taken advantage of. The entire process was smooth and easy with no games. I left thrilled with my purchase and felt comfort in knowing that I got not only a great deal, but that any concerns or issues that might come up I could confidently go back to Gateway Toyota and be taken care of. I received an awful service from this shop. I booked 2-3 weeks in advance to have an out of province inspection on my Right Hand Drive Toyota to register my car in Alberta. On the day of inspection, half an hour after I dropped off my vehicle, they told me they won't do the inspection on my vehicle, and it took another 20 minutes to return my keys, so I could leave.

Update regarding the business owner's response: Unfortunately, you are wrong! My RHD vehicle was imported 2.5 years ago, and was registered in Saskatchewan for more than 2 years. The only thing I needed was an out of province inspection report, which for that I provided the OOP request from Alberta Registery, along with the vehicle registration in Saskatchewan! Also, FYI, I was super lucky because another shop agreed to do the inspection the day after your shop denied to do so. The OOP inspection is done now, and my vehicle passed the test!

Ridiculous dealership. Taking a test drive, only let me drive in neighborhoods. The guy was mumbling about speed limit. Telling me I can't test drive the car on the highway unless I buy it immediately. This is the first time I heard that. Terrible experience.

I'm blown away by the kindness and professionalism that Kameel, Dan, Neil and really each and every staff member I encountered showed me. Buying a new car can be very stressful especially if you've had a bad experience. I'll never buy another vehicle anywhere else.

Very transparent when talking about justifications for prices and went above and beyond with their advice for car care ana financial planning. Couldn't have asked for more! Not only did I get a great proxe on my car but I especially appreciate the offers for deals on long term maitnence for my car through the diamond program and my warranty. I have 100% confidence in my deal with this dealership!

Bought a 2007 4runner limited with 96000 kms, their inspection was poorly done, 8000 kms later I had to do $5500 worth of mechanical work. Advise doing an outside inspection from another Toyota dealer to ensure that you will not face an enormous bill later on. The service department had a mechanic come out and run the codes to assess my engine's issue, reset the codes to get me going, and assured me it would be good. They ordered parts and repaired it a few days later...exceptional service! Thank you Joanne and team!

Will post no stars if possible. I was at Gateway Toyota Edmonton today to get a 2018 RAV4. While waiting for the sales rep to review my offer the sales manager (Kameel Koya) came in and gave my family and I the worst insults of our lives. My little kids were so shocked. Kameel was extremely rude, disrespectful and told us we can go buy the vehicle some where else. We asked him the offering price and he asked why we wanted to know it like we can afford it and if we had an idea what vehicle we were buying. He basically told us we can leave the dealership and go anywhere we liked. Other managers at the dealership just said nothing. Mind you we were ready to pay cash for the vehicle and just wanted to see what Boxing Day deals they had because we have dealt with them for 6yrs. He then kept talking on and on in an attempt to make us feel ashamed for making a sales price offer. I have never been so humiliated, spited, degraded or belittled in my entire life by an individual with my kids watching the way this individual treated us. We drove to another dealership and paid cash for a brand new RAV. I have vowed never to step in there again after 6yrs of dealing with Gateway Toyota and also will tell as much people as I can how rude, disrespectful and insulting the management are. Thank you Gateway for spoiling our Christmas and the buying experience for the kids. Worst dealership in the country don t waste your time dealing with them. Horrible horrible experience and a total nighmare.

Had my 4Runner in yesterday for an oil change and brake service. We've had brake issues for a long time and previous dealers were unable to diagnose it. Gateway immediately found the problem and were able to fix it the same day within a few hours. They were great to deal with. Troy our service Rep was excellent in getting the mechanics to get the job done on time and for a very reasonable price. Troy was great at communicating the progress and knew I was on a tight schedule and he got it done on time. I am very satisfied with Gateway and I would recommend them to anyone needing any service work on their vehicle.

Awesome experience. Listened to my needs and got me a vehicle that was exactly what I was looking for! Super happy with my purchase. Rod Silva and Kameel Koya are awesome to deal with. Very low pressure and comfortable experience. Rod didn't try to sell me more car than what I needed and was very patient and thorough with explaining the features of the car and even helped me pair my phone when I picked it up! Little thing but awesome! Have had the car since the 12th and couldn't be happier!

Had an extremely unfortunate incident at Gateway Toyota this week. I was in search of a new (used) vehicle, as I had been in a terrible accident a few days before. As a Service Customer at Gateway Toyota of almost 10 years, I decided I wanted to give them my business before anyone else.

I dealt with a salesman named Bob, who unfortunately made the process almost unbearable. Things started off normal enough, with Bob greeting me and showing me the vehicle. I took the car for a test drive and all was well.

Upon completing the test drive, I sat down with Bob to negotiate the price and put in an offer on the vehicle. I made an offer $1500 below list price, as an initial opening offer. Bob saw the number I offered and instantly became upset. He quickly began resorting to bully tactics, including telling me I was wasting my own time and that my offer had insulted not only him, but his sales manager on at the time. Bob kept referring to me as 'confused' and kept telling me that I "just didn't get it."

He became aggressive to the point where I felt extremely uncomfortable sitting in his office with him. It was clear that Bob was upset about the way the sale was going, and this was after ONE initial offer. I wasn't even given the chance to counter.

The incident was unsettling to say the least, and something I have never experienced in my life. I've truly never been treated so poorly, or been belittled so severely by a customer service/sales person in my entire life.

I ended up leaving without purchasing the vehicle. After almost 10 years of having my vehicle serviced at Gateway Toyota, I will no longer be doing my business there, as the environment no longer feels comfortable.
