Okay, seriously. This place has been so amazing to me! After a nightmare experience with Sherwood Park Toyota ( thanks for not returning my call btw, you made me seek out the most positive experience by contacting Gateway Toyota)I saved money, got incredible service and I was introduced to Joanne in service, who is the most informative, knowledgeable and positive person I could have dealt with. I cant even say enough good things about this woman, she was such a light for me in a dark moment. She informed me of another TSB issued for my truck that NO ONE at Sherwood or even Toyota Canada in Kitchener volunteered to me. I'm blown away at the professional way that Gateways team has handled my situation. She ( Joanne) has restored my faith in Toyota and its products. Much thanks to the Gateway team with Joanne in service, the mechanics, shuttle coordinator Taylor, Larry my awesome shuttle driver for making a horrible situation into a stress free experience! I highly recommend this location if you want to be treated with respect and be made aware of TSB's or other issues with your vehicle. Thank you for going above and beyond! I am grateful.

We have purchased two vehicles from Gateway Toyota...

We have purchased two vehicles from Gateway Toyota, our latest purchase was our Toyota Rav4 in the September 2014.
Our experiences have only been positive, from our sales person Rohan, to the delivery of our vehicle, the Service Department and the 2nd delivery event where you get to know your car in more detail (under the hood and vehicle). The 2nd delivery event surpassed my expectations, everyone was kind and knowledgeable.
My family and I appreciate the friendliness and prompt service with every interaction.

Definitely a recommend!

I purchased my 2011 Venza from Gateway in November 2014. Mike Muir was a pleasure to deal with. He was knowledgeable about the Venza and provided several options before I settled on this particular vehicle. He was always available for questions throughout the process and assisted with making appointments for installation of additional accessories. The service department was efficient to deal with for the accessory installation and it was great to pick up a freshly washed vehicle. The little things go a long way! I have recommended Gateway to friends as a result.

When I began shopping for what I wanted, I had found a handful of them around the city. Test drove a few at various dealerships and went back to Laurie O at Gateway because of the great experience there -- he was very knowledgable, straightforward and took time to answer questions.

I don't shop for a vehicle very often, and really dislike/despise the process. Going to different Edmonton dealerships was definitely an eye-opener ! Some sales reps (not at Gateway) were stunningly horrible... would say anything to make a sale, were condescending and contradictory, and even misrepresented some water/mold damage to one vehicle... also high pressure, using every tactic in the Car Sales 101 book. Gag! (Anyone remember Herb Tarlek from "WKRP"? Lol. He's alive in Edmonton!)

Anyway, not to be too negative... but wish I could have saved a lot of time/energy and just dealt with Gateway, Laurie O and the manager Jeff instead of hopping around the city.

In my experience, dealing with Gateway ended up being an easy and actually enjoyable process -- no pressure, they were reasonable, and I got a really great new-to-me vehicle at a fair price. I hope this review helps someone get a good vehicle, the easier way.

I brought my car here to be serviced and have a full detailing done. Little did they know I have 2 long hair dogs that love to go swimming and fill the car with sand, water, and fur. I am not sure how you did it but my car is spotless. Awesome job.

Gateway Toyota has one of the nicest service department's I have been to.
The staff are pleasant and very professional. I felt comfortable talking with the staff and they are very personable. They addressed all questions I had on my vehicle and addressed them in a reasonable and timly manner that was convenient for me.
I would highly recommend Gateway Toyota to all my friends and family. The gateway team in the service department are top notch in my books.

The WORST experience I have ever had at a dealersh...

The WORST experience I have ever had at a dealership. I brought my vehicle in and requested a quote for my windshield to be replaced and an out of province inspection.The employee that I dealt with told me that an alignment would be needed as part of the inspection to ensure that the vehicle passes. I mentioned to her that my vehicle has no mechanical issues as I've already had my vehicle inspected by a mechanic before I drove 15 hours to Edmonton. She provided me with a quote of $580. She never indicated that the alignment would cost extra. I returned later that day to discover that the total for my appointment was $200 more than what I had agreed on/the quote provided. The next day I spent all morning trying to get into contact with the service manager to file a complaint as she would not return my calls/emails. When I finally got a hold of her, she argued with me for almost 40 minutes defending her employees by stating that they are very thorough when it comes to their job and that I will not get my money back for the alignment as I signed the release documentation. I asked her to send me a scanned copy of the signed paperwork to my email but instead she texts a picture of my signature zoomed in to my phone. The documents did not show a list of the services that I had requested and I found it extremely unprofessional that she would not email a scanned copy of the paperwork. I also argued that the employee who told me that my vehicle needs an alignment cannot legally say what extra services my vehicle "needs" without a CERTIFIED MECHANIC to inspect my vehicle first (that's the point of an out of province inspection).

On top of all of this, my vehicle was actually returned to me in a condition worse than when I brought it in. Shortly after I picked up my vehicle, it started to leak oil which leaked out onto the engine and alternator, it also started to smoke after a few minutes of having the engine running.

I cannot stress enough how incredibly displeased I am with this dealership and will be filing a complaint with Toyota Canada. The service Gateway Toyota provided me is truly disgusting and unacceptable. They have lost me as a customer, and I will definitely not be recommending this dealership to anyone.

Went there once ,didn't like associates there, they wants us to book an appointment for a test drive, but I didn't have a time for that and the feeling was like they don't even care much, as Toyota is a good brand and people will buy Toyota anyways. I was in a mood to finalize Toyota highlander. but now I bought a new Acura Mdx from Southview Acura. I am happy with my purchase and thinking to change my other vehicle with them as well. Sorry I will not coming to this location again.

The people at Gateway Toyota are friendly, polite, and they work fast. They are always able to squeeze me in for maintenance when I need. They have a place I can sit and get my work done while waiting for an oil change which helps me out a lot.

I had a very good experience with gateway Toyota, the salesman parminder was wonderful from the beginning to the end , he took time and explained everything about my Camry and in my opinion went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied,he is one of the reason that made me buy the car and the finance guy Terry was awesome ,he walked me through the finance process and explained all the options that I have and also explained to me about the extended warranty that is available and all the advantages that comes with it and I gladly bought it. Well done guys I really appreciate your help and thanks for making my day . I will always send friends and family to you guys and will surely come back . Thanks again.

I have given my Rav4 for Oil change. I wish the Service Advisor, is proactive and understands the mechanical issues. I was explaining about the noise in the steering and also the engine noise, but the Service Adviser was more interested in calculating the charges than trying to understand what the issue is. A Technician was called, and I had explained about the steering noise. Regarding the TCI Fuel Injector service, he said the engine noise may be reduced but he was not sure. I don't prefer trial and error method, at a cost which I have to bear.
As primarily it was only oil change, I said I would wait at the WS. I was waiting for 4 hours, and it so happened that the Service Adviser before leaving told another mechanic and he in turn told another staff to hand over the vehicle after the oil change. When I took my vehicle, I still noticed the steering noise, and it was just the hood was loose, and by pressing it, got locked. Our mechanics or the inspection did not bother to fix this small issue. And it would have been better if they had put a sticker for the next service due and the Kms. The service need to be better organized and in a professional manner.

Very knowledgable and professional, and ended up finding me a perfect Corolla iM which I wasn't even aware existed beforehand! Highly recommend him for any future vehicle purchases!

I was excited to look at a 2016 Tacoma from Gatewa...

I was excited to look at a 2016 Tacoma from Gateway this past fall ...They did have a broad selection of pre owned vehicles and the sales department seemed more than happy to help with any questions I had. However after the purchase of my vehicle , it seemed as if the support from the dealership had plummeted. About a month after the purchase, I was already due for an oil change. In addition to that, I was told I needed a transmission flush. This flush was to be done at 50,000 km and when I purchased the truck, it was already over 51,000 km. They told me I had to get it done now and pay for it, when it should have been done before the purchase. Furthermore, I had issues from the start with the starter. I had it looked at twice by them, to which they couldn t find the issue. The issue has been getting worse and they finally found the problem (6 months later)They offered me a rental car after 3 days of my truck being in the shop. On Day 5, I was told the truck was ready and I needed to return the rental car that day in order to pick up my truck. The hours have been significantly reduced and I worked past their closing time. They told me I would have to pay for the rental going forward if I didn t bring it in on time and they were not able to accommodate anything for me. I also fought for a week with them to have the charges covered as it was an issue from the start, and finally they agreed to cover the charges. In addition to this, I later picked up my vehicle and it was not washed on the outside (usually they spray them down). Over all, they have been frustrating to deal with. I was tempted to trade in my vehicle with them for a new 4Runner however after an exhausting experience with both sales and service department, I will be going elsewhere.

Been taking my wife's car there for oil changes and for warranty issues. Friday night, the car wouldn't start. AMA was called out. The battery had huge acid build-up. It was changed. My issue is that the amount of crud that was on the battery is noticeable. I just took our car for an oil change a month ago and if they can't even note that and just flip off their check boxes that things were checked without even checking them? I feel my car will be better serviced at Mayfield.

Prices are so much higher then other dealers in the area. Bought 2 new vehicles from them but got screwed around on a extended warranty that they no longer honored, will probably buy our 3rd car at another dealer.

My husband and I have been contemplating a new vehicle for awhile, I had test drove a lot of cars and was getting frustrated, so we took a break. Finally this week we decided to start looking again and to our surprise we found our favourite salesman working there, his name is Cam. It was a complete coincidence as he was the one my hubby bought his Tacoma from when Cam worked at Sherwood Park Toyota. When we found out he was the one and same Cam, we went directly to Gateway Toyota. Cam was great! No pressure at all! He talked to us about different types of SUV's (what we were looking for) and went on a few test drives with us. He was very patient because I was still confused on what I really wanted. He is very passionate about the Toyota brand, that was very clear. So after sleeping on it we went back and Cam had brought to our attention a Rav4 that just came in. Took it for a test drive and fell in love with it! Long story short deal was made and was able to pick up our new car the next day. Cam took the time to go through some things in the car, helped me set up my bluetooth for my phone. I could go on and on about this guy, but I think you get the point. Our experience at Gateway was super from dealing with Cam, Dan (manager) and Terry (finance). They all made it an enjoyable purchase. Would I recommend Gateway Toyota to my friends and family? In a New York minute!! Ask for Cam!! You won't be disappointed!

Took my car for a service recently, and while the ...

Took my car for a service recently, and while the service desk staff are very nice and courteous, the experience was everything but that.

I took the vehicle in after it had slid into a curb, as I noticed that the steering wheel was turned more when locked to the left as it was when it was turned fully locked right. I figured this might have to do with the steering rack and it being off centre.

I made mention of this to the service advisor when I got there, and I was informed they'd inspect the car first and then call me if an alignment would be needed.

I got a call a little while later and was told that they inspected the car, and found no damage. With that being said, I was told that they had completed the alignment and decided not to charge me for the inspection. No issue there, that was actually the small bit of good news in all of this.

Upon paying and getting ready to drive the car home, I decided to check the steering again, and to my surprise, same issue. The steering wheel was turning more to full left lock than full right lock. I went back in to speak to the Service Desk and they had the Shop Foreman look at my car. After some running around and them looking at my car again, all they said was that the car was fine and nothing was wrong with it. When I asked why the wheel was turning more to the left vs right when being turned fully both ways, I didn't get a specific answer. The Foreman kept telling me that the car is fine and kept trying to explain how the steering rack works. I know how it works, I just wanted to know why on this particular car, it wasn't working as it should. I still couldn't get an answer. I kept asking why that is, since I wanted to know for my own knowledge. I kept being told the car is fine, without actually receiving a clear answer.
Prior to purchasing the car from someone else, I checked this and the wheel turned the same both directions.
After a while of me wanting to get a specific answer as to why this was happening on my car, the Foreman just brushed me off saying he had "other things to do than argue". I didn't feel as if I was arguing, I just wanted a straight answer.
I have no problem with paying to have my car fixed, but I'd want to know why my initial concern wasn't taken care of, or at least explained/addressed. It feels like I've paid for absolutely nothing.

Funny thing is, the yellow tag they put on my mirror says to "contact Service if you're not 100% satisfied", which I did, to no avail. I thought the Toyota way of operating is always striving for excellence (including customer service), something clearly lacking during my visit today.

I'm out $140 and I still have no answer as to why my car exhibits the issue I mentioned above. As I said, I have no issue with paying to have my car fixed, but it sure bugs me to have to pay for something and not have my concerns addressed, or at least clearly answered.

Instances like these really make me lose faith in the brand, which is ironic, because this was one of the main reasons I bought a Toyota to begin with.

For some stuff like oil changes, I'm guessing Gateway does an adequate job. But for more complicated service appointments, after my experience today, I wouldn't recommend taking your car here.

Had an excellent truck buying experience with Bob J. at Gateway Toyota. Bob went out of his way on a short schedule to get me the exact Tacoma I was looking for and have my desired accessories all slapped on in time for pickup - he even went and picked it up himself from the depot when he thought it might not get there in time! They beat my best quotes from a list of other dealers and provided exemplary customer service. Definitely recommend Gateway and ask for Bob Jeancart :)

Could not ask for a better Toyota dealership to deal with. All staff members have been beyond helpful and friendly. Rick, Michael, Rob and Marsha have been super! We ended up buying 2 vehicles here while only coming into take a look at our future options. They were patient as we were figuring out coloring and options for both vehicles! Along with helping entertain the kids as we pondered our big decisions. Thanks for the great advices on our new wheels.

I brought it to their attention and the service department worked with me to rectify the problem quickly. They found a solution that I was very satisfied with. It started that I wanted to test drive the Sequoia and if the price is right it would buy it. Jason didn't took much time to get back to me and he made himself available for my need since I had a weird schedule and was on different tasking in our month of texting back and forth. Jason manage to get me all the available discount possible, even when I though that there was nothing let to give me. Jason make us feel like we are an unique customer not just like a number, he even offered me dinner because of my long distance travel back and folk from Cold Lake. I did not said yes but did not declined neither. Jason was very professional although he only did this for the last 8 week. Thank you

I brought my car in for a polish to remove light scratches and swirl marks on my car. I also asked for a paint touch up on some rock chips. After 2 days, I came back to pick up my car, only to see that no paint touch up was done; and instead of polishing the car, a sloppy wax job was done instead.

Even though I was told that I'd be notified through telephone when the maintenance would be complete, I never received one phone call from Gateway Toyota. I had to call several times myself (after the time proposed to us past), and the staff seemed to be very apathetic.

My car also has new huge scratches on the bumper which I am really angry about. By this time, the dealership was closed (because they took too long to arrange a shuttle for us) so we were not able to consult anyone from the maintenance area for help.

Overall, I'm extremely disappointed and angry with Gateway Toyota. I don't think I ever will return.

I got a great deal on a new 2018 Tacoma at Gateway Toyota. I flew in from Yellowknife to pick up the Tacoma. Michael Dillon, the friendly and helpful salesman who sold me the Tacoma, picked me up from the airport. I was given a very thorough briefing on all aspects of the Tacoma. Gateway Toyota also has a phenomenal free benefits package that came with the vehicle. Living in Yellowknife and probably never driving the Tacoma down to Edmonton, I unfortunately won't be able to make use of the benefits package. My experience with Gateway Toyota was entirely positive.

Got one of the best customer service. Mark Ibrahim, one of the Product Advisor provided optimum and timely service and follow ups; same also applies to other staff that made my purchase stress free. So far, the Highlander I got is working great. I hope it continues to serve my family well. Meanwhile, I love the extra insurance I got that gave me some rest of mind that I won't spend from my pocket for any repairs in the future. Kudos to you guys!!!

Experience was absolutely terrible! I have my Toyota Corolla 2017 and I bought it in the year of 2016. When I went to the service, Troy didn't help me out of my issue. After my tire was fixed last Saturday, the next day my steering wheel was frozen along with the pedal even though temperature was NOT -40 or so and my car is brand new!!! No heat coming out through my car and there was a helicopter warning signal light. After 2 days of NOT using my car because it wasn't working, I went back to Toyota for help. Troy was trying to check my car but said "I can't help you, there was NO trace of anything in your car." I described and explained anything as much as I could but said he doesn't know what to do. I asked him if he knows maybe somebody who had this before and what may be the cause of a problem and he said " I don't know." The point is I am not going to Toyota Services because of nothing!! My car has a problem and if this happens again it might be giving a lot of trouble for me in the future . This is a brand new car and I just used it for 4 years!!! I even offered MYSELF and ask them if they would be able to check my car maybe for maintenance. Then that's when he said there is a $85.00 fee. I told them I maybe under warranty or I have my Gems card that could maybe waive or decrease the price because again, my car is only for years but Troy said sharply that it will $85.00 charge. I felt as a customer that they didn't offer any alternative solution and didn't want to help you out at all. I am not happy with their service.At the end of the day, business is a business.

Went with my mom to receive a "free oil change" that we were promised to receive for a set amount of times but when we arrived there a sales person said that it had expired already and that we would have to pay for it with these polite words "come one it's just 50 dollars". The problem is not the price the problem here is that we've been customers with this location for over 5 years now on our second vehicle with Gateway Toyota and we do not appreciate being offered a service that will not end up being provided to me. I ended up getting my oil change done somewhere else for the same price because the same sales person said to us " look, I didn't sell the car to you so there's nothing I can do about it" he simply washed his hands off the problem because of that and as far as I am concerned it does not matter if the person who sold me the car is no longer there because I bought the car from the company not the sales person backyard and if you are wearing the company logo on your jacket you represent the company as a whole. To me it just seemed that he did not care at all which I'm sure he didn't because I was not there to create any new business for him to get any commission from. I do not believe you have the right people on the front end of your store dealing with customers in such an arrogant way. As a company I'm pretty sure you know it's easier and cheaper keep current customers than to aquire new ones and I don't think I will keep doing business with this location if the service remains the same. Its very disappointing to receive a different type of service than I used to. I never had a complaint before but I will not tolerate disrespectful attitudes from a sales person. The competition is big enough to find a location that can actually provide quality customer service.

I told them I have to bus an hour to get there; when I got there, the sales rep Danny instantly told me I can't test drive the car and that they can't do anything today. I was surprised because I asked them before hand about coming in to test it out, I really felt like this sales rep (Danny) really wasted my time. It's not easy for me to take time out of my work day to come check out a car and I was disappointed to say the least. His response was very nonchalant when I told him I took an hour to get here and an hour to get back home. It took maybe 2 minutes of coming into the dealership before my appointment was basically cancelled and I was told differently than what we discussed on the phone beforehand.
