Gas tank won't open on a Kia Optima 2013 had car for just over one year but ofcorse it's not covered under the warranty had to wait ten minutes when I pulled in the garage for any one to even acknowledge me. Really poor customer service. You would think they would stand by there used cars but we all no how that goes. Will be contacting Kia about this issue

When it came down to finalizing the paperwork, our Finance rep David went over everything so I understood the dollar amount line for line. I appreciated the transparency. Normally at dealerships the financing takes forever, not at Gary Lang. Another plus is, Gary Lang's vehicle prices are quite impressive, you don't feel like you've been ripped off.

Gary Lang provides for the stereotypical grease ball sales experience and then some! "This is the best we can do" said 6 times as cost was brought down each time, "let me check with my manger" 5 times, "let me check with my finance manger" 7 times, "your trade is worth 500", then "1000", then "1500". They were so pathetically dishonest we just walked out.

Purchased my Kia Optima there a year ago and it was a very smooth and positive experience. Ozzie was our finance manager and he was very thorough and helpful. Tony Feucht was our salesman and he made every effort to help us get the car and was never pushy or rude. I have returned several times for maintenance and was always welcomed and happy with the service. I will always buy my cars from Gary Lang!

I really wish 0 stars was an option. Went in to purchase a new 2016 Kia Optima because they were advertising a great price and 0% financing. Well non of the cars were technically new because they were all courtesy cars that do not qualify for the 0% financing. Secondly you will never qualify for the price unless you are a recent college grad who served in the military and is now an Uber driver. Would really like to know how many people that shop the dealership qualify for that discount. Be prepared to spend and additional $2K on the internet price unless you qualify for all three of the above discounts.

My fiance picked up a Subaru from here earlier this year. Service was generally good. Where we were bothered was the car itself. Car was listed new with a few thousand miles on it. The car ended up having a pretty noticable speaker problem and a noticable chip in the hood. Also found someone's CD in the CD player.

They did go to considerable effort to right these problems, but weren't always successful on their first go of it. For instance, we came out to get the vehicle after their first repair on the sound system and the speakers didn't even make sound... We drove all the way out there and it seems they didn't even bother to check their work. Long story short, my fiance was driving a loaner for 3 of her first 6 weeks of owning the car.

When you buy a 'new' car, you want a new car. This just didn't have that experience and the dealership/service departments, although nice, didn't leave me feeling they were competent.

I purchased a Mazda 3 just about a year ago after my car getting totaled in an accident caused by the other driver. I went to Gary Lang and worked with Jeff. Jeff was a wonderful sales associate, however as soon as I reached the finance department I started having issues. I had came pre-approved for a loan with my bank and told the man as such. He seemed to not listen to a word and was saying and ran my credit without my permission anyway with several other banks before signing me up for a bank that was not mine. It is my fault for signing the papers in the end. But I can t get over the fact that they ran my credit so much unnecessary so. They also added a warranty on my car worth $3000 that I never received any sort of paperwork for and have been trying to cancel ever since. I left that night with license plates and then received more in the mail that I was charged for and had to call to make sure I had the right plates. I have tried to contact customer service and no one answered. I was simply never given to someone before the phone was hung up, people would have their answering machines full with no option to leave a message. I would be told one thing and never have any sort of follow up. I had to refinance my car, since the bank they financed me with, turned out to be a random phone number that I had to go to 4 different branches of the bank just to be directed to a different company s phone number, with no actual people.I am still after a year trying to get rid of this warranty I never even got any sort of paperwork for. I have asked to speak to a manager several times and no one has ever solved anything for me. I have even went in to speak to someone and was ignored for 30 minutes before someone finally helped me (I didn t come at a busy time) and the person who helped me didn t actually solve anything for me either. I am so upset with this horrible service and wish that someone could finally help me fix this problem.

My visit today was not what I had expected. I drove over an hour just to be turned away. It all started when I walked in the door and was not greeted by anyone. Their was a gentleman sitting at his desk looking on his phone and others walking around. Finally a lady later known as Darlene walked up and ask how she could assist me. I told her I was here to see Salesman Andrew and she stated sure and started to walk away and looked back and said follow me. I assume she was leading me to Andrew but instead sat me and my daughter at her desk and begin to assist me. She started off by telling me they couldn't find my app, so I had to do another one. She started off nice as she brought bottled water for me and my daughter. She finished the application with her finance manager and informed me what needs to happen with me being able to get a car. I agreed to what needed to be done and after going back to talk with finance she came and said she be back she going to get my car. Well I'm sitting wondering what car was she going to get for we had not even discuss the type of vehicle I may be interested in. Short time later she brought me outside to show me a Kia forte. I liked the car especially the color, but was worried about it being big enough for me and the family. So I asked what my options were and she tried telling me that really was my options. So I explained to her I like the car but kinda needed something bigger and she tried telling me I had none and after I insisted there had to be other oprions she finally offered to show me a Kia soul which I liked as well and I was able to test drive it. Came from test driving she approached me and ask me how it drove. I stated it drives good but was still undecided because of the shape. So I asked again what other options did I have and she begin to say I didn't have any but than said she had a suv. Short time later I was called in the finance office to be told I was denied basically due to my situation of a previous car loan which is up for voluntarily repossession. I felt like the finance manager was a little irritated with me for not wanting to take the very first option and I felt like he shouldn't have ran my application until I informed them what vehicle I wanted first, so by him running my application for a vehicle I never said I wanted the banks didn't approve me and due to other financial reasons that came about. His attitude change dearly and he was being very rude in a way. If I was informed ahead of time that due to my financial situation the Kia forte would be the best route for me and I would have got it. Upon me leaving I see My salesperson Darlene and not once did she offer an apology for things not going as expected or even a goodbye. She clearly walked right passed us and went on to helping another gentleman. I was truly not happy when I left and really looked forward in leaving in a vehicle from Gary Lang today. I just felt like if I was told due to your financial situation the forte would be your best option if you want to leave with a car today instead of running my application for a vehicle I never consented too. I have 2 other people I referred and I will still bring them I just hope their experience is better than mines.

On initial contact with the first sales man I was hesitant to go back. I felt that he was not being honest with me. But on a whim I went back and I went straight to the Subaru office and delt with one of their reps. John Wennerstrom and his manager were great. They listened to my concerns with my first experience. They then worked with me for what I was looking for. They were up front and honest with me about one of the vehicles I was interested in and stayed exceptionally late to help me get the best deal. A big thank you to both of them.

When shopping for my Kia Sportage, I contacted 3 dealerships via the Internet; Schaumburg Kia, Willowbrook Kia and Gary Lang. I specifically told all 3 dealers that I wasn't interested in phone calls and that all communication was to be via email. Well, the people working at the the first 2 dealers mustn't know how to read or follow directions, and within 15 minutes of initial emails I started getting salespeople calling me. Gary Lang was the only dealership that followed my directions without fault. All questions were answered quickly and honestly, and when we arrived at the actual dealer everything was as stated to me, no surprises with the vehicle nor with their pricing.

Elijah Ali was such a nice, respectable salesman and Ryan Miller went above and beyond!! Nick in Finance was great and speedy. I brought the car back a few days later to have a minor issue resolved and Jeff Simonelli was just as friendly! SUPERB customer service all around!!!!!! I had recently purchased a 2019 Chevy Suburban from Gary Lang. An I just have to say, I love my new car! I had an issue with the Interior seating that was already in the truck and some dents and scratches. The general manager told me if I can put some money down then they can take care of that for me. We made the agreement and I drove out of there with the car of my dreams! Big enough for my family and perfect for future vacations! The service men and women that worked on my new truck as well, were absolutely amazing! They did a wonderful job and it s just such a gorgeous truck! Thank you Gary Lang for making me feel comfortable about making such a big purchase! I highly recommend them. This is the first car I bought in almost 10 years and I couldn t be happier!

Gary Lang Kia deserves negative stars based on my experience with them. I have regretted making a purchase there time and time again and should have gone with my gut feeling back then.

In October of 2014 I purchased a 2015 Kia Optima SXT, beautiful car but the most horrible customer service. Lies, fraud and more at the time of purchase (everything from having the incorrect milage on the paperwork to delivering the WRONG car to never filing the correct coverage), but I digress, had gotten over that and recently decided to trade it in to buy an SUV (not with them, but need to talk to them regarding some cancellations on the Kia).

Again nothing but horrible service from Derrick and Chris and GL Kia. Went in on 9/21/16 to cancel the additional warranties I purchased when we initially purchased the car; after about an hour wait was treated rudely, but we were able to file our paperwork (with Derrick). The cancellation form clearly states to allow three to four weeks processing, five weeks later I call the warranty company (JM&A Group) and I come to find out that they haven't received our cancellation paperwork.



Two weeks later I call the insurance company and yay! (looks like Chris submitted it!!) They have received our paperwork and processed the cancellation, however, it is the dealer's responsibility to process our refund.

I reach out to Chris via email and voicemail and after 3 weeks - NO ANSWER. I called again today 11/14/16 and after 3 failed attempts and getting voicemail boxes, I call again, but this time ask the receptionist to please track him down, I will hold. He takes my call and very blandly asks what I need - seriously?! As if he hasn't been receiving my multiple follow up requests. He transfers me to a lady named Jennifer who very kindly says she will look into if for me and call me back today (11/14/16) - so now I wait.

Will never purchase with Gary Lang Kia in McHenry again - horrible service, horrible experience.

Ps... if you take your car for an oil change (we paid for the extended maintenance) be prepared to wait at least 1.5 hours every single time, and that's with an appointment!



I will be calling them again today seeing as that is the only way to get answers. Very disappointed.

After looking for a car for nearly a month and dealing with every type of salesman there was, it was refreshing to come across Brian Palenshus on our second visit to Gary Lang. First visit was a drive by. He was not pushy and yet tried hard to find out what i really wanted in my new car. He was patient, funny, enthusiastic and professional did i say patient? after looking around although i found the car I wanted a 2014 Buick Enclave I was disappointed to find they did not have the package I wanted on the lot. But Brian and the team made it happen! that was a saturday, by Tuesday night I had my new car with everything I wanted including the color! I found Jeff Lang to be a honest guy, who took pride in what he does and did everything he could to make it work for us. Even when signing all those papers with our finance guy, we felt like everything was explained thoroughly. The technical expert Tomas was just that answering all my questions and then some. Making me comfortable knowing if i had any other questions or problems i could call him anytime or come back and go over things. All in all my husband and I had a great experience. These guys went above and beyond with patience and a smile and exuberance! I would highly recommend anyone to go there. And i would highly recommend these guys for sure!! But when we sat down and really looked at the paperwork, Gary Lang had screwed us out of $2500.00 on our trade in. Two years later and another fantastic experience with Gary Lang Auto Group! This was my third new car buying experience at Gary Lang, this time on the Subaru side of the lot. I had a few months left on my previous lease but was starting to get the new car itch. I got in touch with Natalie in Internet Sales and she convinced me (fairly easily) that it d be worth my time to stop by and chat with the sales team. I arrived on the lot and was greeted by Reilly Huber. He was friendly, eager to help, and assured me that I was not wasting his time with my many questions and scenarios. Reilly set up a dealer trade for a silver Forester Limited and then I changed my mind and wanted white. And then I changed my mind back and wanted silver. After some back and forth with Reilly and his manager we came to an agreement that made everyone happy. Reilly and his Sales Manager, Cody Hamel went above and beyond for me. I came by the dealership every day for 4 days trying to get what I wanted for a price that fit into our family s budget. I was temped to shop other dealerships. But having gone through this process three times now, I m confident no one has their customers best interests in mind like the guys at Gary Lang Auto Group. Yes, they re looking to make money and I need to save money, it s a battle and it can be frustrating on both ends. But if you re realistic about your expectations, willing to negotiate and courteous throughout the process, they will do the same for you. See you in another few year, Gary Lang!

3. He claimed that I can "order" a 2015 wrx, when other dealerships can only order 2016s. I m sorry, is it only gary lang that gets subarus directly from japan or sth?
4. After I requested an invoice, he dragged time, saying that he needed his manager's confirmation, and that the manager was away due to family emergency, while he actually was out in a business meeting. Words don't match. He's clearly lying.
5. After following up on him for not giving the invoice, and pointing out that he should know better about msrps when he's a manager, he demanded some more respect and hung up on me. Do you really want to ask for respect in this situation? You earn the respect, not ask for it.
6. Called the general manager, explained what happened. He said he would call me back in an hour, didn't call back in a day and replied nothing to the voice message I sent, reminding he needs to call back.

hands down the worst dealership to buy a car. They are extremely rude and will never help you if you have any sort of issues. Instead of trying to help a customer they would much rather argue and lie to you instead of helping correct the issues. They also will pay there friends and family members to leave good reviews. Because lets face it they really don't have any happy customers. They have companies they pay to help remove bad reviews.

Around New Year's I bought my third new Chevy from Levi Megerdi at Gary Lang. After helping us find my wife's car in 2016, he helped us trade it in a year and a half later to get the same model but with AWD and lower payments. My third visit to Gary Lang I knew Levi would be more than happy to help me find a new car for myself and my dad! He is a straight shooter And an easy person to talk to. The deals they had around the holiday were crazy! I got a 2020 midnight blues equinox with a 6 year loan, low payments, and no regrets! My dad ended up with the same car in a different color. Levi is our family's absolute favorite car salesmen! 11/10. His passion for what he does shows and it makes us appreciate the "sometimes stressful" car buying experience! Thank you Gary Lang for being our dealership of choice and Levi Megerdi for giving us 100% customer satisfaction every time!!!!!

Former employee here. I ve never worked in sales, note do I ever want to. I had to leave Gary Lang to handle some personal family problems, I got my last regular pay check, but never received my commission check. It just really sucks that this place has gone down hill since I was little, my father purchased 2 vehicles from them, I have had family who had wanted to recently, and I advised not and explained what my issues are with them. I shouldn t have to contact anyone about this issue, I have left a voicemail and emailed the GM. Needless to say my family will not be visiting due to this issue.

I went in to Gary Lang Chevy about 2 months ago to trade in for a car that I could drive for Uber. It was quite the learning experience for me. I traded in for a Chevy Spark. (Just want to say you can t use the spark for Uber) I won t get into too many details or mention names. The financing was close to not going through on the car (I found that out myself) and had I not said something to the dealer I believe the situation would have escalated much further. Because before the financing was confirmed to have gone through they paid off my other vehicle. I don t believe that s standard practice. Also I was told if we can t get financing, you have to pay the full amount of the car. I m assuming he had forgotten the terms of the contract I signed but I let it slide because he was on top of the situation. In the end, I got the financing. A deal I m not happy with. I should have looked at the numbers more, hence why it was a learning experience.

Bought "Certified" Used GMC Acadia. Tires were worn with one being below Certification limits. Dealership did the right thing by providing a replacement tire, but I had to pay for Mount and Balance. The 4 wheel alignment also identified that specific tire out of alignment. That cost was also tacked on to my bill. BEWARE when this dealership advertises Certified, because they overlooked a worn tire and hit me for Mount , Balance and Alignment.
Wondering what else was overlooked???? hopefully the Brake Pads and any other Wear Component was checked correctly!!

They didn't seem to care about the customers, if he said yes we will check on this issue and when they are done they can tell me the issue was so and so, and it will cost you $$$, then I will know they care about looking after me and my car, which I didn't feel that, I am not sure I will go back to this dealership, and my car still has the airbag light on.

BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage. Car only had 18miles on it when I drove it off of the lot. The very next day I emailed the salesman and told him my car didn t seem as if it was driving right and was also having a tough time accelerating. I never recieved an email back so I called. Calls went unanswered and never received a call back. Forward 8 months later. My radiator is completely screwed up. When I called and told them what was going on, the very rude sales manager told me there was nothing they could do. I was told my warranty wouldn t cover the damage and I called my insurance but they wouldn t cover it either because the damage was caused my the vehicle. I had been having problems with this vehicle since the day I received it. I was told I would get another vehicle, to being told I would need a down payment, to being told I couldn t get one at all. I ve refferd people to this place but never again. I shouldn t have to pay for a vehicle what doesn t work nor should I have to put money down for another one when I was sold a lemon.
