Gary Lang Kia deserves negative stars based on my experience with them. I have regretted making a purchase there time and time again and should have gone with my gut feeling back then.
In October of 2014 I purchased a 2015 Kia Optima SXT, beautiful car but the most horrible customer service. Lies, fraud and more at the time of purchase (everything from having the incorrect milage on the paperwork to delivering the WRONG car to never filing the correct coverage), but I digress, had gotten over that and recently decided to trade it in to buy an SUV (not with them, but need to talk to them regarding some cancellations on the Kia).
Again nothing but horrible service from Derrick and Chris and GL Kia. Went in on 9/21/16 to cancel the additional warranties I purchased when we initially purchased the car; after about an hour wait was treated rudely, but we were able to file our paperwork (with Derrick). The cancellation form clearly states to allow three to four weeks processing, five weeks later I call the warranty company (JM&A Group) and I come to find out that they haven't received our cancellation paperwork.
Two weeks later I call the insurance company and yay! (looks like Chris submitted it!!) They have received our paperwork and processed the cancellation, however, it is the dealer's responsibility to process our refund.
I reach out to Chris via email and voicemail and after 3 weeks - NO ANSWER. I called again today 11/14/16 and after 3 failed attempts and getting voicemail boxes, I call again, but this time ask the receptionist to please track him down, I will hold. He takes my call and very blandly asks what I need - seriously?! As if he hasn't been receiving my multiple follow up requests. He transfers me to a lady named Jennifer who very kindly says she will look into if for me and call me back today (11/14/16) - so now I wait.
Will never purchase with Gary Lang Kia in McHenry again - horrible service, horrible experience.
Ps... if you take your car for an oil change (we paid for the extended maintenance) be prepared to wait at least 1.5 hours every single time, and that's with an appointment!
I will be calling them again today seeing as that is the only way to get answers. Very disappointed.
