45 minutes to check in. No ocean view available. Incompetent Manager
& receptionist. Will escalate to upper management. Will post this on multiple sites. Way too long to post review that is more precise for now. More to follow.

It was more a typical Marriott hotel versus a resort. The beds, while called queen were no more than double. The bathroom faucet was located in the left back corner which made hand washing difficult. The pool was nice. The outdoor waterfall and brook feature was under renovation but the paint buckets and ladder were left as if workers just walked away. The restaurants provided a range of menu choices from snacks to high-end. Hopefully Marriott will invest in the rooms and grounds.

Conference + Personal Stay Review

Conference + Personal Stay Review

Conference Stay:
Came here for a work conference during the week and decided to extend our trip to stay out of the cold a little bit longer. As far as a work conference goes, it was one of the best I've been to, both in terms of logistics and the food. Any time the room needed to change, the hotel staff would spring into action and get it done quickly.

Food: we had 2 lunches and 3 dinners at the hotel, both at 3030 Ocean and Sea Level and all the food was amazing, which is tough to do buffet-style for hundreds of people. There was well-cooked fish, beef, chicken, and pork every meal and the coconut popcorn shrimp was a fan favorite (they kept running out at the buffet). The desserts were also amazing too - one night we had a trio of pudding-like shooters: Creamsicle, Snickers, and Strawberry Shortcake. WOW. I think I ate the most in this 3 day period than I ever have in my life.

Personal Stay:

The views from my room on the water was beautiful, which I acknowledge is suggestive! I got the beach as well as the cruise ships in the distance, plus the huge pool with palm trees.

We spent a day at the pool but be warned that the spots fill up fast. The age demographic at the hotel and the pool definitely followed a U shape distribution, lots of kids, lots of parents, and then lots of retired folks. Not many people in their 20s (my age range).

Other amenities at the hotel that are sweet: great lounge chairs on the patio to chill at during the day or evening, a beach volleyball court, a basketball court, tennis court, and hot tubs. You can also rent SUP boards and jet skis if you'd like.

I'm not much of a beach vacation person but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the Fort Lauderdale Marriott. Next time I come back, this will definitely be on my list to consider.

We came here for a conference and while the building was a little dated, the rooms were large and impressive. The staff was friendly and the view of the ocean was breathtaking. The beach is wide and manicured, the pool is big and there are 2 hot tubs. Some nights they play a family friendly movie projected by the pool so you can swim while you watch it.

Great place to stay! Convenient to the airport and the beach. We had a lovely time - beautiful beach, nice service, spacious room. The guy in charge of the chairs and umbrellas on the beach needs to chill out a bit. We will be back!

The manager of the spa has very bad attitude. Is not a good professional. He doesn t knows how to give information or to help the guest to get the service. We was trying to enjoy out time in family but he made of our stay a very bad moment.

Best hotel stay I've ever had! Amazing service, absolutely beautiful resort, with amazing food! They clearly pay attention to every little detail. So far we're on day 2 of a 5 day stay and I continue to be impressed. Every single member of the staff has been great. The included activities and amenities have been awesome. My wife and I tried Yoga for the first time in the free class and the instructor was great as were the fitness facilities in general! All 3 of the on site restaurants have excellent quality food. Our room (free upgrade to ocean view with balcony) was absolutely beautiful! We will definitely be coming back here!

The property is beautiful, loved the pool area also the beach. Edward (Sea Level server) was very pleasant, nice and went the extra mile to m ake us feel comfortable after Mira was awful she started serving us and all of the sudden never came back and just gave our tab to Edward, one occasion we asked her for drinks and she just didnt want to continue serving us for no reason, we felt kind of discriminated. I didnt like that social distancing is not really enforced specially in the elevator area and Starbucks was always crazy CROWDED. Other than that the rooms are good, hotel staff is friendly (except Mira) and the surroundings are beautiful.

Rooms are nice, clean and updated. Staff was very nice and all wait staff was courteous and polite. Hotel was clean and had nice ambiance/decor. Pool is huge and pool area was nice with poolside service. Complimentary cookies and lemonade every day at 230, and poolside entertainment on the weekends. I attended a fitness class on Friday and it was a nice amenity. Overall a great experience and would return or recommend.

Had a great stay. They were friendly and helpful. The view from my balcony was wonderful. I did not have time to enjoy the pools (2 pools that I could see from my room) or the beach. But enjoying the veiw each evening and morning made up for it. Be aware you will be paying around $20-25 per day for parking.

We used a ton of points to get a 2 room suite. Our stay started off very badly. we checked in at 8 am as an Elite Rewards member. Staff promised to send us a text as soon as the room was ready. HOURS pass. By 2 pm we check back to find out how much longer. Oh yes your room is ready. You didn t get the text? . REALLY?? No apology. No free breakfast. No nothing. As Elite members we expected better service.

Room was very large. Balcony seated 6 and faced the ocean. Overlooked a dirty rooftop. Room was very quiet.

Best part of the trip was we could stay by the pool and use the towels/chairs/facilities once we checked out. We ended up staying till well past 6pm no problem and they held our luggage for us.

Also the kind gentleman making s mores on the beach the night we arrived (March 2) was very patient with guests. He deserves recognition.

This is by far the worst Marriott I've been to!

This is by far the worst Marriott I've been to!

They send canned responses and they don't even know their customers. I filled out a survey as a Gold Elite member, but, the canned response was sent to a friend that I traveled with, whose not even a Bonvoy member. As a shareholder, I'll be forwarding all this to their BOD. This hotel should RIP.

This was a very nice location with very nice amenities, however literally every single option or item has a fairly hefty charge associated with it. Because of the location, there are few shops directly within walking distance, so you are forced to partake in the expense. The pool is incredibly nice and the hotel employees are fantastic. The restaurants within the resort are also pretty awesome and we will be visiting those again should we choose to stay at this Marriott property in the future. As compared to other properties, this one is certainly impressive, though it is starting to show its age in some ways - though this was not a big deal to us.

Definitely one of the best Marriott properties I've been to. Food and drinks were a little over priced but we still enjoyed our stay. Staff was really helpful and polite. Fish tacos from the Sea Level bar outside were amazing. We also had the coconut shrimp two days in a row because it was so fresh. Whenever in South Florida this will be a must stay for us.

Great service, food delicious and cost in line with local prices. Beach perfect. Nice complimentary toiletries. Problem with TV and room fridge handled immediately.
Downside, the one sliding door to close bathroom or closet worst design choice ever. Also only 1 robe hook in bathroom, no bathroom fan or place to hang wet swim suits. Not good planning for a beach resort

The hotel is mid to Upper scale overall, most things have been fairly recently redone. My room along with the lobby areas are all tile, televisions look like they've been replaced in the last couple of years, and a lot of the rooms have pretty good views. The pool and Beach area seem crowded due to the size of the hotel, no free beach amenities that might be found at some other resorts.

Love this place!! The pool and beach area are fantastic. Close to everything. Service was great and food was good.
Only issue: please place recycling bins in the common areas! We are in a plastics pollution crisis and there is no where to recycle anything. Hundreds and hundreds of plastic cups everywhere and no where to recycle them! On the beach there is not a single spot to recycle anything and as a result... more plastic in the ocean. Please think of this lovely area, beach, and marine life and incorporate more places to recycle!!!

This Marriott does not abide by the typical Marriott policies. We had to change our reservation 4 days in advance and they charged us $675 to do so. We have elite status which means for many years we have made it a priority to stay at Marriotts and we travel often. So disappointed with the response from customer service and hotel response. They have lost a customer who not only travels a lot but also has planned group travel too.

The service is incredible. When we arrived at 10 at night our room was not ready. The receptionist gave us a credit of $ 50.00 and our parking ended up being "free" for the 4 days of our stay.

I mean it's pretty but wayyyy not worth the money. I got a discount going for a conference, and I STILL couldn't believe the price, esp after seeing what was included (i.e. nothing but pretty views). Save your money and stay elsewhere and just visit the hotel for the atmosphere---your wallet will thank you!

Been coming to this place for the past 25 years now . I've had nothing but great service and beautiful memories were made. The staff is excellent even though you may see some of the wealthy of wealthiest or just people who have saved up for a vacation and wanted to go the extra mile for a lack of better words.
I recommend it to anyone and everyone who could afford it or who could experience the opportunity of being part a guest making more great memories once again hats off to the staff and to management. I'm currently looking forward to being a guest again very shortly.

I would sum up this property by simply stating if you are going as a hotel guest for the resort DON T. This place seems geared to cater to their Club members (locals who go for the amenities) than their hotel guests. Hidden fees everywhere. Book a spa appointment no problem but watch for the charge just to enter the spa. Breakfast continental, buffet or add-on, make sure you know the difference. Watch for add on gratuity of 20%. Sometime there is sometimes not, And contrary to Florida law they charge tax on the gratuity. Going to the beach? Outside of the privilege (added charge) of using their lounge chairs, you might as well be on the public beach. Unless you are a pretty girl in a small bikini don t expect to get any staff attention. (I m a dad with young son). Pool is marginally better. Put my flag up for service..... waited an hour for someone to come. Note picture below. If you want to go to the pool come down early and lay your towel down to reserve your spot for the day. The staff do not manage unused or finished with chairs. If your not down to save your chair you won t get one by 11 am for the rest of the day. Talked to a few hotel guests and we all thought the same. The club members seem to know how to navigate all this and do much better. That being said gorgeous property nice rooms and individually the staff are great. I guess once you figure out the property and the ins and outs of the place; it is fine. I just don t want to work that hard on vacation.
