Conference + Personal Stay Review

Conference + Personal Stay Review

Conference Stay:
Came here for a work conference during the week and decided to extend our trip to stay out of the cold a little bit longer. As far as a work conference goes, it was one of the best I've been to, both in terms of logistics and the food. Any time the room needed to change, the hotel staff would spring into action and get it done quickly.

Food: we had 2 lunches and 3 dinners at the hotel, both at 3030 Ocean and Sea Level and all the food was amazing, which is tough to do buffet-style for hundreds of people. There was well-cooked fish, beef, chicken, and pork every meal and the coconut popcorn shrimp was a fan favorite (they kept running out at the buffet). The desserts were also amazing too - one night we had a trio of pudding-like shooters: Creamsicle, Snickers, and Strawberry Shortcake. WOW. I think I ate the most in this 3 day period than I ever have in my life.

Personal Stay:

The views from my room on the water was beautiful, which I acknowledge is suggestive! I got the beach as well as the cruise ships in the distance, plus the huge pool with palm trees.

We spent a day at the pool but be warned that the spots fill up fast. The age demographic at the hotel and the pool definitely followed a U shape distribution, lots of kids, lots of parents, and then lots of retired folks. Not many people in their 20s (my age range).

Other amenities at the hotel that are sweet: great lounge chairs on the patio to chill at during the day or evening, a beach volleyball court, a basketball court, tennis court, and hot tubs. You can also rent SUP boards and jet skis if you'd like.

I'm not much of a beach vacation person but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved the Fort Lauderdale Marriott. Next time I come back, this will definitely be on my list to consider.
