FLVS is THE WORST. I try to keep up with the work but each lesson I do makes me more stressed and less confident with my Spanish. The FLVS teacher was so bad. She quit a phone call while a student was mid sentence. The live lessons where a hassle because it went over what we already knew and when the teachers complain that we are far behind we remind ourselves of ALL the reasons why. Like the teachers taking twenty minutes to talk about us behind. For me it got so stressful the principal said it is better to quit FLVS Spanish than continuing.

I am pretty sure FLVS was used as a Roman torture device back then.
It goes against the 8th amendment.

Public school is a damn joke with no structure, too much violence, and bull**** teachers.
FLVS is the BEST school and saved me from being in ALOT of trouble!
Complete at own pace, teachers always available to chat. Best experience ever!!

I think some of the can be very hard to learn but most of it is very easy and i get sidetracked a lot. Overall i think it is very good but it can be very easy to get bored and totally not do the work.

I'm learning way more than I would in public school and I'm getting better grades and my summer break starts on march 18th my biology teacher Mrs. Hodges-Mathews makes everything easy she's nice and lets me call, text, or email whenever I need help! I'm almost sad that my class with her is ending. most teachers have lesson help videos if your stuck on a lesson or project hope this helps. also this schooling helps me because I travel for my dads job.

I have been doing FLVS for two years now and I prefer it over public/private/charter school. I am a Type One Diabetic and being in a germy school enviroment caused me to become sick. There are a couple of things i would change. I think there should be a alternative for DBAs. I asked, and teachers just said, "video chat." I mean a real alternative like doing a live lesson or working in a group on a live lesson to answer the dreaded, and sometimes irrelevant, DBA questions. Maybe providing the questions before the DBAs. Also, the teachers ask the students to submit the assessments in order. However, the teachers don't have to grade in order. WHY? Should'nt they show us the same respect that we show them. Also, some of the courses only have one availible collaboration. That makes it extremly hard to plan around! One time, all I had to do was complete a welcome call. I called, emailed, and texted the teacher 3 times a day for each. This went on for 3 WEEKS. No joke, a welcome call can be completed in 5 minutes or less. Finally, we contacted their principle and he just laughed. When we finally got ahold of them, they said, "Oh, three weeks isnt that long sweetie!" ARE YOU SERIOUS! The reson i gave FLVS 3 stars is becuase, ya, it has flaws but the positves even out the negatives. For example, if you are sick, doing school is easier. If you have morning sickness, like me, you can just relax in the morning and do school later in the afternoon or at night. Traveling is also easier becuase FLVS teachers will bend their and your schedules! (somtimes) All together, FLVS isnt for everyone. Only for students who are A advanced, B willing to put in twice the amount of time of regular school, and C who can handle MASSIVE amounts of stress.

I am very pleased with the teachers and staff at FLVS. They are compassionate and understanding with my daughters who are homeschooled because of special learning issues. I am so impressed with the kind tone and careful speed at which the teachers speak. Especially her math teachers take the time to explain complicated math problems over the phone. Plus all the teachers are very prompt in assisting and reaching out and are always encouraging. We are very grateful for FLVS and the kindhearted staff. It would be perfect if there were more recordings of real teachers explaining the content of the various courses. Sometimes all the reading can be overwhelming but my girls get through it and it's a good alternative to private on-line courses.

I've been taking FLVS courses since 6th grade (I'm in 8th grade now) So far I've came to the conclusion that the teaching is excellent. The only problem is it is very, very stressful, but that's life. My grades are better than they were in regular school. Although, I've become anti social and awkward and extremely shy towards others. You have to submit assignments weekly and it is a stress for me. I get no sleep worrying that I'll be kicked out, even if I submit assignments. I would recommend FLVS only if you can handle it.

Ms. C Robinson 6th grade math is the worse teacher at virtual school. She is a liar, sneaky and evil. Too bad her principle Mr. J Odom didn't listen to me when I told him about her ignorant ways. She do not speak clear, have selective hearing and very impatient. She went behind Mr. Odom back after he made a decision in favor of my child and told the academic advisors lies that caused them to inconvience and stall my child from completing her courses in a timely manner. She doubted my child effort and integrity even with her having a B in her class. She gave my child a 0 for collaboration even though she completed a live session. She didnt call for DBA'S when Mr. Odom decision was in my child favor because she had something else evil up her sleeve to push for the withdrawal of my child. She had it out for my child and FLVS did not have no understanding when I advised them that she had a personal issue with my 12 year old. How low can she go? #KARMA! She make virtual school look bad. I urge any student that had or have a problem with this unprofessional ghetto talking lady to please reach out to their director Mr. R King he will understand better than Mr. Odom her principal who dont care either, he is another one who is there for a paycheck. Both Mr. Odom and Mrs. Robinson ignored me when I reached out to them for advice or tools to assist my child after Robinson reached out to the academic advisors and neither spoke to me no more after that. A high class intelligent educator or principle would acknowledge and appreciate a parent that is involved in their child education unlike non intelligent educators doing the job just for a paycheck like the above mentioned. Flvs need to evaluate who they hire and maybe your ratings will go up. C Robinson is the worse teacher ever There are more better and teachers and principals. Booooooooo to C Robinson and J Odom

Assesments take maybe 15 minutes or just a bit longer. Why did my child wait by his phone for over an hour because the teacher did not keep her appointment. With the excuse that one student took long? One? Over an hour? An hour late for a call that took 8 minutes. She still hasn't graded it. Which he should have 100 because she said all the answers were correct. She was on the speaker. Ugh. Efficiency and dependability are key. Work on it. One rotten apple. I am an understanding person. I've had teachers text or email my child when things are running behind on schedule but this person has no courtesy at all. Thankfully my child is an amazing student. Hopefully FlVS removes teachers like this. Supposedly she's a teachers assistant. The problem is when the teachers take off the assistants take over and are terrible.

FLVS has become a bit stressful now. A few years ago, it was simple and you really got work at your own pace, but now it's too much for one student to handle. The assignments are pretty long and dull (I know it's work, but it shouldn't drag on) and if you don't submit 3-5 assignments per teacher a week, you'll be booted from the class. I use to enjoy FLVS because I got to study in peace and I was at home, but now I'd rather public school where a teacher will actually be there to help you and the work is easy to follow.

Online HOPE is the most repetitive, tedious, annoying course I have ever taken in my life. This course is the exact opposite of anything you would learn in school P.E, and isn't this course supposed to replace that? It's basically false advertising because your learning only what a personal trainer would know. The wellness plans are garbage, half the time the words are misspelled, and they're about seven pages long with hours worth of annoying questions which wont even help you the slightest in life. My teacher was up my ass almost everyday if I made a punctuation error and would make me re-submit the whole wellness plan and if I even tried to do an assignment that was after the wellness plan before I was done i would get a text nearly seconds after i submit it saying "don't do that". Overall this was a very, very, very bad course to take and wouldn't recommend it unless if you want crippling depression because working at your own pace isn't an option. (Respect that i want to stay completely anonymous and ask that you don't go through all the hard work to find my teacher and contact her)

Dear every person that hates FLVS,

Dear every person that hates FLVS,

For your information FLVS is WONDERFUL! Sure, they expect a lot but you should realize that before you sign up that you are expected to do a lot! FLVS creates wonderful and creative assignments and i love my FLVS courses. I am a 6th grader doing 7th grade science and i am totally stress free on here.

Dry curriculum.. make sure your printer has ink you ll be printing out a bunch of useless papers that will eventually get tossed. Expecting a second grader to type in Microsoft word style text box to explain how he got a answer... That s only the beginning. We are remote learning due to COVID and this was the district s choice.

I am currently a Junior at NYU and took FLVS classes. FLVS is what you make of it. You can complete a course in 1 month or 7 months depending on your goals. The main problem with FLVS is that 95% of answers to assignments, quizzes, & tests are online! Students who pass by cheating will be in for a nightmare if they pursue college. As for those who complain about the "Work at your pace policy," any teacher who CARES about his/her students will contact the student/parents if you are inactive or behind in the course. These same students are the one's that fail in college because the professor's don't even care to know your name and whether you attend class or not. And for those who complain about the "workload," be grateful that your class grade does not solely depend on 3 tests as is the case in many college courses.

This schools is not what it is cracked up to be. The teachers are fantastic but nothing else is. There's no support system that actually works, and the tech help is as responsive as an untrained monkey. It has potential, but needs to do a serious evaluation to get above a one star.

My experience with FLVS has been horrendous to say the least. This bureaucratic, self-serving, hellhole of an institution has ruined my life. I wake up, thinking about how infuriating my day is going to be due to the stress that FLVS has forced upon my daily life. No matter how well you do in your classes, they won't show up on your report card, they can't help your grade, and nobody cares what you think.

The teacher - student response times are terrible, and teachers can just lock you out without any provocation. If you forget to do an assignment... Too bad, you're kicked out of the class, and all of your time spent in the class, working your ass off is now wasted. I've thought to myself many times on how I will commit suicide one day due to the strenuous environment of FLVS.

I still have to sacrifice some creatures to Satan, and I still haven't made my summoning circle for the day so... I hope my valuable time wasn't wasted in making this review for your pitiful mortal visual receptors to interpret, and you ought to do something about the issues that were listed. Bye.....

My son had a great experience. The teachers motivated him. They follow up with him frequently. He has taken three online course and all were great experiences. He has learned more through Florida Virtual then in the classroom atmosphere.

===PLEASE READ===I have been on FLVS for about a y...

===PLEASE READ===I have been on FLVS for about a year now. So far, I think it is very useful and great. I know that you might think that this might be just another review that may just say that the system is great and that s it. But here is the truth. In many reviews, kids say that FLVS is terrible. They say that because they cannot truly work at their own pace, the customer service is unbearable, and the teachers are clueless. Right now, I am in Ms. Hernandez's French 2 class and she has been AMAZING and is focused on my success in the class. Now, I am not saying that all my teachers are like her (some of them are not), but what I am saying is that some teachers are great and some are not; in addition, many kids say that their teachers don t answer their calls well, here is why: FLVS teachers each have like over 100 students, making it difficult to answer every call and text; also, many teachers have live lessons to instruct and meetings to attend. We all must realize that these teachers must be dedicated enough just to be a teacher in FLVS so, please appreciate them for being there! Now, the next topic I want to discuss is that students cannot treat FLVS as some loophole to easily pass through K-12 school. It takes structure, discipline, and determination to stay in FLVS. When I started FLVS, I struggled to submit my work on time. But as time went on, I learned how to organize myself to get things done within 4-5 days every week sometimes 3 and still have a good night sleep. I know not all students can do this, so, for parents who are reading this, please help your child if they need help organizing their school schedule, and please monitor their work and pace (IT WILL HELP THEM) . Now, some of you may think I find my school work a breeze, but it is not. I spend loooong hours on each of my assignments (and I have to submit like 4 for each of my classes each week). While we are in that topic, when FLVS say that you can work on your own pace, they really just meant that you can take as long as you want to finish your work in a weekly basis. I mean, there is a set time range on when you supposed to finish a class. Do you really expect that FLVS would allow a student to spend a whole year on one segment? I am pretty sure that is not the case. Many people, do not know what it is like to take an online class. Many of them think that it is easier than being in school. However, this is not true, but rather the opposite. You actually DO MORE than you actually would do in a school. Also, I see some say that they do not like doing DBAs, since they have to talk to someone which they wanted to avoid. DBAs are there to make sure a student is doing the work and not someone else. I mean, teachers cannot see you taking a test, so they have to use other means of testing to make sure you are learning. There is nothing wrong with that. That is just how school works. You cannot escape testing if you are in school. I hope you find this review helpful and had clearify your views of FLVS.

My KG kiddo has been in virtual school for about 6 weeks now. We do the FLEX program and absolutely adore his teacher, Mrs. Flynt. Would highly recommend this virtual school option over an other in the state of Florida, especially county virtual schools. We are so grateful for the opportunities this school has already given us.

Hello. My daughter Riya Naik has been enrolled in the HOPE online course that she just completed.
I'm writing to give you feedback on her teacher Ms. Wolcott.

Ms. Wolcott is truly dedicated to what she does. She is very patient and I believe she has a way to draw the best out in a student! She is an asset and a blessing to our education system!

Sincerely,

Seema Naik

I had about 15 assignments left for my entire course. Teacher locks my account to do monthly call and I cannot submit any assignments. I am busy for a couple of days and unable to call her back. The day I planned to call her she has an emergency and I cant call her. I wait till tommrow to call her back and realize I am withdrawn from the class for not submitting any assignments and I assume not calling. I appreciate wasting an entire school year worth of work (2 semesters) I had 15 assignments left to complete the course. I really appreciate that.

In a nutshell virtual school is garbage, my math teacher quit in the second week of school. What a inconsiderate thing dont you agree so my peers and i have no math teacher and my school cant find one. Oh look there is flvs im very thankful that flvs is a thing so at least i can get a algebra credit but it is horrible, other people might feel different but the lessons are horrible and confusing and it wont even show me the correct answer! At least im getting a education... Of sorts.

We enrolled our 6th grade daughter in FLVS full ti...

We enrolled our 6th grade daughter in FLVS full time (6 classes) and found it to be a mediocre and difficult experience. Her Florida public middle school was overcrowded and kids behavior caused her great anxiety. We thought FLVS might be a viable alternative. It proved to make her socially isolated with loads of work that was often tedious rather than truly educational. An 11 year-old glued to a computer 4 to 5 hours per day 5 days per week and doing it alone is not a healthy thing. The content in LangArts/Reading and History was also very problematic. The LA and Reading lacked cohesive themes and consistent reading levels. Some content was haphazardly taken from poorly written web pages that were not analyzed well for information or developmental level. Kids think that it is their fault when they do not understand and yet, I sent the content to a PhD level professor to analyze and she expressed that the content was gobblygook/poorly conceptualized and written. I ran some text through reading calculators and found a range between 6th grade level to graduate school level. The content creators (not!) or "synthesizers" of this curriculum do not have a mastery of literature or themes that truly inform and inspire which is what someone with a masters or PhD would have command of. There is no consciousness of developmental and reading levels. Also, the curriculum was often reading a passage and then answering comprehension questions--essentially, test prep but not an enjoyable learning experience that is interesting or helps a child grow. Math was okay but we needed a tutor to guide our daughter through the Common Core stuff (otherwise know as "constructivist math" a problem in and of itself.). Science was okay but required assistance from a parent to explain certain concepts. If you want to home-school, don't use this virtual school. We finally decided to enroll our child in an independent private school where she is happier and thriving academically. If your child is overwhelmed in a crowed FL middle school and you can't enroll in private school, consider sending them to public school part-time for core courses and doing electives on your own. You can technically be a "home-schooler" who uses the public school for a few classes. Credits aren't required until high school. Then, you should simply leave Florida and go to a state with a good public school system (i.e. one that pays their teachers well, requires teachers to havegraduate degrees and allows for small class sizes).

This was not a good experience for our family over...

This was not a good experience for our family overall. We have 4 kids and decided to do full time virtual due to COVID. The curriculum is really "canned" and there is no way to personalize it to a child's interests, at all. The teachers say they will help the kids if they need it, but "helping" is just a Zoom session with the teacher saying "you really have to do your work." Plus it is really hard to get OUT of the school. I started trying to withdraw two of my kids in the first week of December and I JUST got the last one out today (Jan 28). If you don't finish every single assignment, the teachers won't just issue a 0 or an F for it, you HAVE to do it or they will not send your grades to the new school (so you have to repeat the class). They didn't assign my son his electives until October and then expected him to complete the whole semester worth of work in just a few weeks. Of course he earned Fs in those classes. It's really hard to get a response from administration (outside of a few select individuals who were instrumental in finally helping us escape). We definitely had teachers who were not qualified - I have a BS in chemistry, and my son's chemistry course was a JOKE. They had things that were slap wrong on the quizzes and tests, and the teachers are not able to change the canned curriculum. The lectures (I sat in a couple just to see what the kids were seeing) were so bad. Oh my gosh, imagine the worst conference call you ever had and multiply it by itself - that is what the mandatory Zoom classes are like. I think the 2.5 star rating is accurate - this school is probably fine for self-motivated kids that are on the middle of the bell curve, but anyone with special needs of any kinds will not be well-served here, in my experience.

I previously took FLVS for 11th-12th grade, and it's honestly one of the best learning experiences I've ever had. I don't know why the ratings are so bad. The teachers are kind and thorough, willing to explain whatever you need help with and are usually quick to respond. They also have a very relaxed system, I immediately felt comforted there by the atmosphere and relaxed system of work. I would recommend FLVS to anyone who is looking for an online school. As long as you stay on the ball, FLVS is great!

My experience taking this as my home school education would be decent. Its because some of the courses needed to be updated because they are very disorganized, making it harder to understand. History online isn't a good course, its cold hard reading, I feel like their isn't enough interactions and I believe its important to have guided notes. If you aren't good at managing your time, don't take this school, it will mess up your grades. Other than these struggling properties, I understood the information in school and earned straight A's in all of my courses. If you want to take home school, I would say make sure you do collaborations as live lessons, its so much easier and study dba's information, hardcore. Then, take the test the same day so, all the information is still fresh in your mind.

I am doing online classes for credit and I hated it. I am taking algebra 1 but in during the summer I took Drivers Ed and personal fitness and I was fun and educational but then I was stupid enough to think that math online would be easier than doing math in school. It's not. I cant stay on pace and I get text messages and phone calls for being late on things. For some reason they don't update everything so it shows that I didn't do anything. If you are going to do a class here DONT DO MATH! I am so stressed out with doing homework from school and doing this online stuff.

I don't know what some of you are doing, but here in earth space science we have it good. My teacher was texting me back and forth from day one, and it's been super helpful. I understand some teachers may not be as good as mine, and i feel bad for the students who get those teachers. I could complain about not being able to find things in my first 5 minutes of being on FLVS, but after a few minutes I would get an answer via text message and would go on my way. If the course goes down hill, I'll write another review. But until then, I for one am enjoying my time.
Thank you

FLVS is great if you are determined to get your work done. They have tons of resources in the course and some classes allow you to get different certificates and licences. For instance, I took the the Computing For Collage An Careers and now I am eligible to take the Microsoft Office Certification test, along with another course called Outdoor Education, which allows you to get your boating license, and hunting licence. The teachers are great if you talk to them often and don't go to any answer sites, and if you do get off pace they will constantly remind you of that. FLVS is great for homeschoolers, and I have also seen people with DISABILITIES take these courses and soar through them. FLVS is really great, and have the student on (almost) every decision they make.

FLVS may be the most useless part of a public education system ever created. Currently, I am an 11th grader that has taken two FLVS classes, and passed both with high A's. However, FLVS classes are a complete and utter joke. Four hours of time a week on busy work assignments, essays which I'm not even sure the teachers read, and pointless two minute DBA's are not worth anybody's time. There is no gain from taking a class in FLVS. The "teachers" do not teach you anything, and half the time they don't answer their phones if you try to ask them a question. There are no real lessons to actually explain anything. It is completely pointless, not to mention very very easy to cheat on if you need to. Please, nobody else put yourself through this horror.

Worst thing ever didnt help and did not meet agreements with teachers in DBA's, they always made excuses of to not let me continue you guys are the worst thing ive seen throughout my life in education. How about you actually let kids continue their work without the codes and maybe youll be praised as actual people who want to lend a hand. This has messed up my life and is forcing be to set back. I suggest people realize how idiotic this hellhole of an institution is like that other guy said. Florida virtual school sucks SCREW FLVS! And to the owner if he dosent fix that problem that it dosent let kids continue their work then you guys are bound to have a bad review.

Ms. Rebecca Podany for A.P U.S is rude to her A.P students. I understand being a little strict to push your students to do better, but she thinks we must know everything perfectly and basically be robots that can recite 300-400 pages worth of information every 2 weeks for one module. If you make a mistake during a DBA, she yells "NOOOOO!". She always has an attitude and is completely different via FLVS message vs. during DBA calls. I needed help at the beginning of the school year to navigate the FLVS course, and it was over a phone call so of course I couldn't clearly understand what she meant. But of course, she has to start raising her loud voice at me and giving me an attitude. The course is online, and it is all self learning. No lectures, no group discussions, no nothing. Of course I am going to be confused about several things, or freeze up during DBA's when I study one area and she asks me something I don't even remembering reading. Or the best part. "an addition." There are things we have to know that is not in the text book, but rather a building block. Fun! ;( According to another student in the class, she gets mad easily because she "teaches" many classes and gets frustrated from being busy all the time. Either way, she should still learn to be nice and polite, as she is just scaring her students, which causes them to get afraid of her and not ask meaningful educated questions.
This is the only teacher though who I have had that I absolutely dread. I have had other classes, with fantastic teachers who are so kind and helpful. Sorry, but Ms. Podany dramatically reduced my liking for FLVS. One thing about FLVS is for sure: The classes are either wayyyy toooo easy or wayyyyyy tooooo difficult!

I like to compare flvs to a big crap in the toilet. Only ever take useless electives that you don't want to learn anything from, because it's impossible to learn with FLVS. It's stressful, will ruin your family and social life, and will turn you into a Cheeto eating drug addict. The only thing I have to say to the owner of FLVS, is please either stop this trend or drink some bleach. Don't bother sending me one of your copy and paste replies either.

A Lot of things are great about FLVS, like the teachers and the policies. However since FLVS is an online school, i think that the website(s) and links should be more up to date. Because a lot of the times the links don't work or the documents are old. Please update the website and documents for future generations!

I was excited to see Driver's Ed here. Had my 15 yo twins enroll only for them to be dropped before enrollment. I was under the impression that you'd be enrolled even if it wasn't right away. One of my kid's needs makeup courses, while the other would've enrolled to get ahead. It doesn't seem to be an easy process.

FLVS. two years so far, so I think I'm qualified enough to comment. First, the teachers. They aren't teachers. They don't teach you anything. They are proctors. Second, the curriculum. The curriculum is fine, except they don't update anything for *years*. I'm taking Spanish, and they are still referencing Blackberries, "Web 2.0 tools", IMing, and other such outdated technologies. I would give it a 2.5, but I can't and I don't think it deserves a 3. The technologies are not updated universally through courses, ex. One course has DBAs on a chatroom, but another is still using phone calls.

I have social anxiety, so doing school online is perfect for me. When I went to public school it was difficult for me to get work done and pay attention because of all the other kids around me. I would often get distracted by random noises in the room and I always felt like someone was looking at me. Most of the time I didn't even want to go to school and would pretend I was sick just so I could stay home. One of the reasons that I didn't like my school much was because both of my best friends were going to a different school than I was and I didn't know anyone at my new school. Eventually I stopped turning in assignments altogether and the weird thing was that my teachers didn't really seem to notice. I was the quiet kid, and that made me sorta invisible. I was failing most of my classes and I didn't care. Likewise, my brother was also failing a lot of his classes and he suggested FLVS to my parents. The thing I love most about FLVS is the fact that you can work at your own pace, as long as you continue to turn in at least 3 assignments a week. So I could get the classes done with quicker if I wanted to. Sure, DBA's are nerve wracking, but if you fill out the study guides and take notes during the lessons, you should do okay. The best course I've taken yet was Earth & Space Science with Mrs. Jackfert. She was very encouraging and helpful when I was stuck on an assignment and didn't understand something in the lesson. So far I've been assigned to good teachers who genuinely want to help me succeed. I also enjoy live lessons where I can work with other students to complete assignments instead of having to do them on my own. I have definitely benefited from having a quiet work space versus the noisy classrooms I was used to.

. My daughter s teachers are decent, except for 1. We have been using FLVS since she was in middle school, for classes like spanish 1 and 2. No problems then.

Shes a junior in high school now and taking AP Calculus. MY GOLLY! The ap calculus teacher s homepage says expect a response within 24 hours but she rarely conforms to that promise. With a subject as hard as AP Calculus BC, this is beyond frustrating. My daughter is a hard worker, top 30 in her class, yet she struggles at math sometimes. I hate to be what young folk call a Karen but if my daughter needs help on a daunting math problem, she shouldnt have to wait 2-4 days for a response. This is annoying. Hire more responsible math professors please.

Treat kids like they are five, really minions? in seventh grade? Actually thought I could be something till this absolute, despicable, money festering, excuse of a website ruined it all. Surprised they haven't added pop ups and ads, if the government is supporting garbage like this I have lost all hope. Now here let's play the guessing game which pre-written response can the person copy and paste! Here's my answer...

We re disappointed to hear you feel that way. That certainly isn t the experience we strive to create for our students and families.

We understand FLVS, your low paid teachers, no matter your experience you still get paid the same amount of money, 45,000 a year isn't enough. Your going to have strive to create that experience if you want more students.

I love it! Yes, there may be a tough turn here or there, but nothing to bad. Give it a try! Don't trust the bad reviews! They are just to lazy to do as asked! The teacher talk hours are usually 8-8, it's quite simple.

Flvs was an okay experience, I took online Spanish as an elective while attending a public school. It was very stressful having to complete five assignments a week on top of my school work. Most of the time, I was falling behind because the material is very hard to comprehend just by reading it. I often found myself just sitting in front of my computer very confused about what course was trying to tell me. Although my teacher was very kind, she didn't help me understand the lessons very much. DBA's are also extremely stressful because I have a tendency to get very anxious & I often avoided them which was a very bad choice which meant that at the end of the segment I had to go back reread lessons that I had mostly forgotten already. Many nights I stayed up trying to complete assignments that I didn't understand & even had breakdowns every once and a while. Flvs was just an overall very stressful experience.

They have learned sooo much more since they have been out of public school cause they have to rad and they are learning way more, cause when they were in school the teachers sometimes give answers or your friends and how are you supposed to learn like that???? You don t!!! I really enjoy my kids being in this program they might go back there last year to graduate with there other friends!!!!
Great job

Flvs is amazing. The school systems were terrible so I was forced to take Flvs. But after three years of taking it I've loved every second. You get to work at your own pace, but of course there is a deadline where you have to turn in homework as any other school. You get to meet new people and do collaborations with them, which is just like projects. Getting good grades is easy because everything that your learning is right there! Before Flvs I was an I had always had average grades (C's) and doing Flvs has brought that up to all A's! Flvs gave me and my family more opportunities to do things that we wouldn't be able to do if I were in an actual school. My teacher experience has been great, all the teachers are always kind and there if you need help on an assignment or just have some questions. I defiantly recommend Flvs to anyone. And I am so grateful to have been 'given' this opportunity! :)

Ok, so some of the teachers are pretty cool, but others teachers suck. I also keep getting flagged for copying off the internet, but I only use the help resources they give. Overall it is kinda ok, not the best, but I give you an extra star for trying. It's kinda sad that students are having this type of experience. You guys should do something about FLVS to make it more understandable and less stressful.

I'm taking English online and so far it's been great although i've almost been dropped but that was my own fault. If you actually ask questions and focus or take some small notes while doing the lessons, then you can pass with an easy A just like me, and i'm taking honors. Also, if you want the extra boost to your GPA like me, then take an honors class because its honestly just like and extra assignment or two and the teachers are sooo nice. My teacher is Ms. Price for English 2 and you better give her raise lol. Thanksss I might even take English 3&4. Also, I have a question: If I take AP Literature will that count as a college credit and also for the two AP English classes, which ones are for English 3 and 4? Thanks!

This on-line school isnt the best. I submit a entire module on ela and my grade went up ONLY BY ONE. 1 Percent more that what my grade was before, most of the time when you call a teacher, they dont call back. The questions are WAY diffrent than what you learn in the lessons.

I am currently doing the 7th grade math over the summer, and I am truly disappointed. I was taking a test on algebraic equations when it then asked me to answer a question I was never taught! The site is difficult to navigate through, and when you answer tests there are sometimes essay questions. Usually, that is fine, but the essay questions aren't graded by the computer, but by the teacher. So it takes off points from your test score and lowers your grade!

The teachers obviously don't know what they are talking about. During the dba they are easily corrected and when you ask them to explain something they tell you to go back to the lesson. All these one star ratings yet they still have a 2.5 rating? Sounds weird

I just finished my senior year as a full-time FLVS student through the HVS franchise. From freshmen to senior, all teachers and online courses was a great experience for me. Each teacher took the time and dedication to make sure their students finished on time. Even on the hardest season when cramming for exams and finishing by the final deadline, many teachers were able to assist and some even gave extensions (more time) prior to the final deadline if necessary. I know a lot of people left a lot of negative feedback about their "work on your own pace policy," but I'm here to tell you that its just common sense. The program is designed with some flexibility but it would be impracticable if your student was behind than the average student at a physical public school. Yes, rather I sometimes got notifications of being behind pace, I had a double life, working for the family business as well so, in most cases, it was a struggle but I pushed on. Yes, being enrolled here, especially full-time, takes commitment, patience, and hard work but isn't that what students need for be prepared for the real world? 5/5

P.S. Shout out to my HVS teachers: Ms. Blackburn (geometry,pre-cal), Ms. Antis (english 4), Mrs. Norris (U.S. History, psychology), Ms. Francis (parenting skills, economics)!

Thank you so much FLVS-HVS!
