I'd rather deal with the obnoxious kids at the pub...
I'd rather deal with the obnoxious kids at the public schools than fail my classes off some extreme complicated work.

This has been a horrible experience for our Daughter. She enrolled (9th grade English, Biology and Algebra 1) to get away from some distracting students in "resident" class and it has been very difficult. Website is full of I.T. flaws in the programming-- (Posting assignments--getting proof you turned things in, getting tests that go blank 3/4 of the way through!!). I watched my Daughter electronically LOSE her whole exam when she was on question FOUR out of a FIVE question essay Algebra 1 module. You had to type out answers of linear equations and EXPLAIN in essay form what you're doing. The page scrolled right off the screen and then the pop-up that says "Do you want to stay on this page?" FAILED to Keep Her on her test page!!! Her whole test just vanished along with all the work she had done thus far. She screamed and was so upset, that she couldn't even look at the next assignment. I do not advise anybody enroll their teenager in Florida Virtual School, unless you enjoy total family stress. It's not like "In Class" where you can actually PASS a course without finishing every, single, assignment. With "Virtual" if you don't keep up, you get withdrawn (kicked out) and also if you do not finish every single assignment, test, DBA phone chat with instructor--the course follows you like a little black cloud and rains on you, until you FINISH ALL or FAIL. Wow, that's great !!!
FLVS is by far the easiest thing that I have done. Before I have lived in Europe and been to school there. And I have been to an IB school and this is really no effort in compare what I have done before. I maybe work 2-3 hours a day and I More
I take spanish 2 on flvs, and it is a little stressful. As a person who isn't that technology savvy it is a little confusing. But if you take it seriously and create a 4 assignment + schedule per week, you can breeze through it Although it kind of defeats the purpose of "learn at your own pace" . The teachers are really good, but don't try to cut corners when doing your assignments.
I ve been enrolled in the AP US History class that Florida virtual for about 4 weeks now. It is the worse course I ve ever taken. I m constantly stressed out by the workload. I was told the reading inside the lessons was meant for high schoolers but this is certainly not the case. It is very hard to understand. Our teacher has been telling us for weeks that she will help us through it but she has done nothing but complain about how much we complain...
The FLVS experience for me can be described in one word- exhausting. With so much work assigned from my teachers at school and the annoying minimum requirements for FLVS each week, I missed having a social life and was stripped of my sanity. This program tolerable in the summer, but once the school year started I could not wait until I finally finished my class.
I was required to take Spanish 1 and 2 for credits but my experience wasn't pleasant at all. I would do about 3 assignments a day, and the spanish teacher would push me. I finished Spanish 1, but my progress was never shown. According to my guidance counselor, I didn't complete Spanish 1 (which i am 100% completely sure i completed). I am not up to redoing a whole Spanish 1 again. I am now currently on my second try of completing Spanish 1. I do not recommend doing school credits on here. Do electives like Drivers School.
the teachers don't give help or info in lessons and expect long paragraphs to write.
The teachers are hit or miss sometimes they are good and helpful, while other times they are rude, arrogant, and unhelpful. The user interface is bulky and slow, and most of the lessons are severly outdated. It is OK for a quick and simple elective, but deffinatly avoid this if you plan to take a core course.
Though i do not attend FLVS i do attend MVS and they use the same website. Yes at times i get very stressed but, you have to be willing to work. I'm sorry but if your lazy don't use this as an alternative to public school. You will fall behind pace and that's not good. If you feel like you being stressed to much then go back to public school instead of taking your life as i saw in a previous review.
~Sincerely a Student in 9th grade
ITS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I SOMETIMES WANT TO CUT MYSELF FROM THE PAIN AND MISERY IT GIVES ME. PLEASE DONT DO THIS SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!
My teacher, Ms. Harmon, for Algebra 2 was great and should get promoted or something but the course itself made everyone stressed out.
I hate this online school! Nobody helps you! They dont answer your calls for help or any welcome calls! They complain about how you didnt call but i do. Then the teachers are not helpful they dont tell you what you did wrong they just give u a bad grade. The only teacher that i truly loved was my old english teacher she helped me so much and cared.
Algebra I V20, Brittany Hurley (4077/S) - shes full of it!she never answer your calls never! She always on some bull when your on the phone. She talks so much trash. I lost it when i was on the phone with her thats how mad she made me. She hold me back from finishing my school work she keeps giving me stuff to do that doesnt have anything to do with what i need to do. So im so behind on my school work because of her.She thinks im stupid and dumb. My mom even stop answering her calls because shes always with some bull or have something stupid to say.
English I V12, Elizabeth Kennedy (3642/S)- Omg! This women doesnt even help you shes just a mouse she dont say anything. When we are on the phone she didnt even help me she kept telling me something that had nothing to do with anything She doesnt tell you want you do wrong. she just keeps it pushing like who cares im getting paid .
Psychology I V14, Ms. K. Moss (3962/S)- This lady makes me so mad. I was on the phone with her for our welcome call and she was speaking to me like i was a dumb person. I was speaking to her like a sweet nice person and she talks to me like a mean girl that just thinks your dumb. And kept correcting me which wasnt called for. I did some work and she just didnt help at all she could of message me and be like hey you need help i see you have a problem no she just dont freaking message you with 7 days.
Data Control and Functions V14, Evonne Gustin (4113/S)- I called her like a week ago never got a call back! Like you complaining about i need to call but its been a week and you havent answer. Come on now!
Spanish I V9, Mrs. Jeanette Negron (2977/S)- same with her called her about a week ago and havent got a call back but want to complain on a email saying she needs to call me and i did. Sooo you going to call back?.. Like where they do that at.
The only teacher i liked was Mrs.Kathleen Hartman best online teacher when she see i was needing help she message me right away. She always answer the phone and helped me with anything. I miss her so much ;(
I hope this school just go away! Its just awful!
I honestly love flvs. I have been taking flvs courses since I was in 4th grade im in 8th now. It is an excellent learning experience and a great way to earn some credits. The teachers are nice and you can just call them if you need help. However it can be stressful and hard to understand the lessons and assignments at times and sometimes you just want to give up but its all worth it in the end.
As a FLVS student I love the way that the teachers handle the students, they are willing to help and will usually reply to your messages within a day. Though, the live lessons aren't really what I need, I do get how some students would benefit from these. The DBA's really help to know if students are cheating and make sure they know what they are learning. The workload is definitely more then regular school, it is totally manageable. Overall, being a student at FLVS has been great.
Honestly the school wasn't so bad at first. really! but now im coming to the end of my courses and i have literally learned nothing. Math got to the point to where reading it nd watching stupid videos couldn't help me i need someone actually there. Chemistry i dont even know. the books platform is horrible. I have 20/20 vision and could barely read it. The book makes zero sense. Language arts is not really that bad its what you expect Essays. what you dont expect is to do something that the teacher wants you to do and not what the book says. History was easy. out of all my classes the only original teacher i have is my math teacher every other teacher left and they switched me... problem is... now i have to adjust to a new way of something right after i get used to the old teacher. im writing an honest review here and the truth is when you read what people say about teachers never picking up theyre right! my teachers will say "call me" i do and they dont pick up then call at the worst time... sometimes past their hours! the social partt is kinda hard being as me iand moving to florida in march. so that was annoying. Since there are no deaadlines you constantly feel behind and you will hear your parents either making you or wanting you to keep going and going and going right after you finish your three assignments for that said class. The stress it puts you under is insane. sometimes an assignment that takes maybe 30 minutes in public school takes 2+ hours even if youre fully focused on it. The collaboration assignments are really not good. You can sit there and bullshit the whole time. the way they try to relate to you is really dumb like associating math with roller-coasters but that is normal in school. I just pull my hair out at some of the assignments. The school has potential but at this rate it shouldn't exist. Chemistry really sucks because it has a lot of labs that you just do a crappy 2-d button click over and over again and now suddenly you know what your'e doing. IM A HANDS ON PERSON. i cannot learn through not doing it myself IN PERSON. so i really recommend not taking chemistry in this school. Personally i hate this school and id rather be anywhere but in this school.
I did not like the experience in FLVS it was very bad because we are stuck looking at a computer and we are supposed to be outside doing pe not inside looking at our laptops. and i do not like that we have to call our teachers to do tests or have my teachers phone number.
I Had my troubles here and there but overall this school is honestly fine and acceptable.
Ehh, teachers were a pain to get a hold of. Getting work done doesn't take much effort and didint cause me annoyance. I would follow the guidance plans and I would get my work done in a nice pace but submitting work is very complicated and annoying. Not to mention if your internet bugs out you lose progress on quizzes.
I think the best improvement I could give FLVS is probably more organization and more responsive server times. Once in a while I get a DOS protection error and I lose my progress in work.
Also many of the reviews shouldn't be taken seriously. Most of them are jokes and complaints with no valid evidence or explanation other than "I can't do my work on time! waahh waahh!!"
.
i mean i guess its ight but the chickens always cold
Ok. First of all, I liked FLVS when I first started. I was doing really good on it. I had to take it for school and I didn't mind. And then I was late for 1 or 2 assesments. I don't have a computer at home so I work on it after school and during school. I was sick for a few days and I has 5 assesments waiting when I got back. I thought I could handle it , but oh boy was I wrong. I fell behind.(this was a math class by the way). I was kicked out of the course because I couldn't catch up in time. I re-entered the course for a second try and got kicked out again for no reason. I had been turning in my assesments and trying to catch up. I couldn't catch up quick enough so I got kicked out again. I had to wait until the second semester to enroll again. I am working on the frst half of the course and have to make up the second half in the summer. I am a person who has to have a real teacher in front of me to understand. I want to be able to talk to them in person and show me real world examples. I thankfully have another teacher in the room that I work in. She teaches a different class but when I have a question she helps me. I have been doing a heck of a lot better because of her. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't understand half of the things said in the lessons. I can't just read the lesson and understand what it says. The lessons are not as detailed as they could be. If anything they should improve the wording.
I have been with FLVS for two years now. The site is very easy to navigate and the teachers are very easy to work with! There are lots of resources for learning too.
worst decision i ever made was to apply to virtual school
The work in this is unengaging and often confusing at times. You are encouraged to talk to your teachers but.. I mean...
I have two kids taking one class each. They are both very happy with the flexibility.
I think FLVS is pretty good. What I do not like is the fact that you HAVE to call a teacher for DBA's, and the fact you HAVE to do co-op ( partner ) assignments. I just dont see it as virtual school if its mandatory you have to do team assignments or contact people. But other then that its good.
its ok but its not the best experience I have ever had but I would like to pinpoint one teacher that is amazing through this whole thing and that is mr.gieger and mrs.coover from math and science
their is one other science teacher but I forgot her name
Very good online schooling especially for me because i am taking online P.E and some people might think that is not right but i enjoy myself on Flvs.
Absolutely terrible!!! Why would you want school to be online? The experience's I've had so far in their ACCESS program have been worse than my 3 hours of water torture and electroshock therapy combined.
Wow, that's great !!!
It sucks, don't take it unless you anti-social, don't like people, have nothing better to do, and have no life. Then in that case this is perfect for you.
I think that we should all be grateful to have a service like this at our fingertips. It is very helpful.
i've been doing flvs online since 4th grade and im in 8th grade now and i love it, i only had one issue in photography and P.e but it was still a great class and i love flvs
I know parents are frustrated but you have to consider that this is brand new! Has FLVS been around? Yes. But have they dealt with these numbers before? No. We are in the midst of a pandemic. Have some patience. We are barely a month in and honestly, school is always confusing at the beginning. I appreciate the teachers and am truly just so wonderfully humbled by the humanity shown. Thanks for making this an option. I have an autoimmune disease and it would ve been very scary for my son to have to go to a brick and mortar. Everything new comes with stress and takes a while to get it figured out. But please have patience and know that everyone is stressed out and confused. And all we can do is our best. Thanks again for the help and understanding. It has removed so much weight from our shoulders.
Im in 11th grade and ive been doing flvs full time for a year now. The only good thing about this program is the teachers are good for the most part. Im not against learning but Flvs full time is too overwhelming and stressful and way harder than public school. I dont recommend Flvs to anyone and i cant wait till im done with this horrible program.
This school is a hit or miss.. I've been doing flvs since 6th grade and I'm in 8th now. 6th and 7th grade wasn't that bad but omg 8th grade.. ITS TERRIBLE!! I got switched to different teachers and ever since then my grades have been terrible and my math teacher never responds to my emails fast enough, he responds 7 days later literally. I'm a ballerina and I'm always out the house so i really needed someone to be there for me to get schoolwork done, especially math. its January and I'm still trying to finish up segment one because i didn't get the support i needed with my new teachers. Plus, the school work is just weird and not like regular school at all. If you know your kid needs extra support like me when it comes to school, reconsider schools. There's sadly a few teachers I could count on these past 3 years. BUTTT I DID MEET TONS OF AMAZING TEACHERS A PEOPLE FLVS AND THERE IS SOME TEACHERS THAT WILL MAKE YOU LOVE A CLASS THAT YOU HATED AT FIRST LOL
I had all A's for the first time in 2 years because I started working hard everyday only to have to teachers switched on me and suddenly be 2 weeks behind because of their new pacing guides. now in one week all of my grades have already dropped a letter grade lmao
Flvs is the worst homeschooling or online school ever they say you can work at your own pace ITS A LIE They badger you to to turn into 3-5 Lesson a week not to mind You I chose flex for a reason because I m a very busy person I m in a lot of homeschool activities the teachers have made me cry Atleast 5 Times If You Don t Understand Something They Say The Have a lot of resources in the homepage and it s not freaking true everyone are different learners and I m the type of learner to have some one in my face who ever invented this hellhole of a place needs to be shut down FLVS HAS RUINEDDDDDD MY LIFEE I ve stopped things I ve loved because of flvs like cheer and flvs has given me anxiety and sometimes causes depression
This was my daughter's first experience with FLVS so we were both lost and nervous about it. I am so thankful that she had Coach Pedicelli as her first teacher. She was so helpfull and informative and available when we needed to communicate with her. Her attitude is exceptional and her instructions are perfectly clear and cohesive. It was such a pleasure having her teach my daughter. I feel that we are now spoiled and all the other teachers will have to live up to Coach Pedicelli's flawless reputation.
Virtual School is good but they need to work on their teachers and there courses. For instance PE. All students gonna do is lie about them doing it. One of the lessons they want students to go on a diet. No one is gonna be doing that diet thing. Understandable you want students to be fit and healthy, but you are making students self-conscious and students will end up deciding weather or not they want to change there appearance or health on their own. There are teachers who are lazy and not willing to put in the work to make sure there students succeed. I have a teacher that never decided to check up on me when I was behind and the DBA's I have to join a zoom call with other students instead of one on one. Also instead of saying you can work on your own pace say that you have a flexible schedule, because you are giving students the expectation they can just do one assignment a week. Stop giving a job to anyone and fix the courses where students will actually do it and learn something from it.
The lessons can be clunky to get through. Usually takes a bunch of clicks if one is deeper into a chapter or whatever. Kind of clunky, that.
It's a great alternative for people with busy schedules like me. I have soccer practice everyday at 2:00 and school gets out at 4:15. The teachers are nice too! I had a concussion and my English and IPS teacher did everything they could to help me catch up for the 4 weeks I missed.
I take FLVS for Career and research, but honestly, I think it's way to much work. I understand maybe a little less work, but this is too much. I'm always cooped up inside all day because of this truck load of work. It's honestly less stressful to sit at school the whole day and learn, how do I say it, SCHOOL. Well, I hope my advice gives you a sneak peek of this FLVS.
This website doesn't even deserved 1/5 of a star. I feel like I slave away every damn day just to get the work done to please some teacher I can't even see. What group of morons decided to create this monstrosity? I've read through the comments and I've had similar problems that most of the others have had or are having. The teachers are annoying, the work doesn't make a lick of sense, I'm not learning anything I'm just regurgitating information back to them, I can't even go at my own pace. I'm just so frickin feed-up with this crap, I have real classes and real work I have to do but NOOOO, apparently having 7 other AP classes just isn't good enough. Whatever, I don't care anymore. Don't even bother to send me some fake apologetic message, I don't wanna hear it.
FLVS is the worst. I have learned nothing and would rather be taking a regular World History class at my school. Over half the assignments are meaningless projects, having almost no relation to the lesson, or history at all for that matter. The teachers are nice, but they really don't have to teach, soooo... The quizzes and exams are pointless as well, but would still be a welcome alternative to all those ridiculous, life-wasting projects. This class has twice the work with less than half the benefits. I'm not lazy, I just hate wasting valuable time. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
My Son Is part Of Florida Virtual School since kinder AND noW he Is on 8th grade and Still with the same enthusiasm. Live lessons are great and teachers hice support and cooperate a lot helping kids archives success !
IT"S A LIVING HELL
DON'T DO IT IT"S NOT WORTH THE STRESS!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE THREE GRAY HAIRS ALREADY AND I'm 16
Everybody seems to hate FLVS, but honestly, it was kind of my savior. Before you stop reading this because of the Cliche of it saving another person's world, read it.
Okay, so if you are an Honors Student in Middle School, you may want to take Algebra 2 Honors. The problem is: Your school doesn't offer you that class. Then FLVS comes in and gives you all kinds of Advanced Classes.
This is pretty much what happened to me.
Now I know I have a future ahead of me ;).
I am a student at Florida Virtual School and I must say that it is the best learning experience I have ever had. FLVS has teachers that keep in contact with their students throughout the course and care very deeply about their education. FLVS has the teaching abilities that no other school has, I learned more in one semester at FLVS then I did at any other school. I hope to continue school at FLVS until college. FLVS has the most in depth classes I have ever seen. I have also learned more about computers at this school, now I know how to make files, word documents and so much more. FLVS is the best learning experience I have ever had and I feel that everyone should attend this school.
it made me wish my mother had kept smoking crack with me in the womb
I would just like to acknowledge Arlene McManus for all the help she was for my daughter, Hannah , in her pre-algebra course this semester. She finished with an A.
This was an experimental experience for us. We have been home-schooling since 2nd grade and this was the first year that I have stepped out of the picture to let Hannah do it herself. I don't think she would have been this successful if it wasn't for Ms. McManus' time and patience .I was very comfortable to let Hannah continue as soon as I recognized that she had all the help she needed.
Thanks to this experience, we will be continuing with the FLEX program.
I just want to thank her again for the time and dedication she gives to all her students.
Okay let's put it this way. If you're okay with sitting down for hours on end (or maybe not) to do a couple assignments and are able minded to balance out school work as well, then flvs is for you. The short end of the spectrum is flvs isn't a walk in the park like most would take it to be. You could cheat your way through the system, but come those DBAs it's going to be quite stressful as you're panicking to zip through the lessons to get that (what's supposed to be) easy A (trust me I should know). I'm personally doing flvs to graduate early and so far there has been some bumps in the road, aside from teachers not getting back to you when you need them right away and not to mention the pressure they give you just because you missed a couple assignments or can't get that DBA when THEY want you to. Honestly if you're all for the challenge go ahead of course it's going to have its ups and downs but nevertheless it's pretty great. I personally like it because of how "quick" you can finish the course compared to regular public school. Taking flvs comes with many bumps in the road but overall it's pretty great.
I have a kindergartner and second grade student enrolled in Flvs through our local school district and I am disgusted by how many errors there are in the materials. Almost every day there is either a grammatical error, spelling error, or missing information. The read aloud is a robotic voice that mispronounces words and doesn t read everything on the page or the tests. During sorting activities, if the child accidentally puts something in the wrong box you have to restart the entire activity. Worksheets don t match the videos they are supposed to go with. When you do submit a complaint, you get 3 emails about each thing you report and they never tell you what they are going to do to prevent it from happening in the future. Their latest email is that I m sending in errors too often so I should wait for the end of a module to report all the issues in the module. It should not be up to the parents to proofread their classes! Very unsatisfied with this user unfriendly program.
FLVS may be a little stressful but I definitely do recommend it for electives. :)
FLVS is the worst. it has ruined my life. i would never recommend it if u had to do flvs to get into college i just wouldnt go to college. this hellhole shouldnt exist !!!!!!
The teachers are generally good, but the lessons, especially the spanish 3 and 4 lessons, are just awful. For the most part I use third party sites to learn grammar, not to mention the lesson are 7-11 slides but only 2 to 3 of the slides are even relevant, which is the case for most flvs classes I have taken. I use flvs because the other online education sites are somehow even worse, not because I want to.
I've been able to learn various subjects far better than I ever would in public school. This is because of the help from my teachers and the guided notes we take during the lessons. Even the way the lessons are formatted are just great for understanding and retaining.
I don't have time to write a lengthy review because I am definitely capable. My son graduated last year and I must say that without FLVS he would not have faired well. After not passing a subject in 10 grade he was able to make it up in the Summer and when we had to relocate mid-year out of state (still FL residents) we were able to homeschool with FLVS and need I not mention the again before his last year he was able to take again classes in the Summer that could have made Sr year more stressful and he completed right before the start of school. My student appreciated what FLVS has been able to allow him to do. I recommend that every student have a parent to back them up no matter the age. Students don't always like it but having someone calculate the best timeline for assignments per day to a set completion date is truly helpful to both the student and parent. They (students)always think that they can do it on their on, some can, but assist even with teacher calls when possible and this can be very beneficial to your student if need.Sorry tried to keep it short. Also our grades tranferred fine. PleasedCollegeStudentMom
i dont like this website because it stresses me out all the time the teachers are impatient.
DO NOT TAKE A LANGUAGE ON FLVS. JUST TRUST ME. IT WONT HELP YOU. If you have good work ethics you should be fine. But if you have a bad memory or are a procrastinator like me you will probably not be great on FLVS. It is easier to get an A and it is great for electives BUT it is definitely NOT work at your own pace. (Unless your pace is learning and taking 3 assignments every week which is not recommended especially if you go to a public high school)
Personally I did not really like it.
FLVS is great for when your math teacher is terrible and you need to drop out.
FLVS is a great school, all of my teachers were/are awesome! Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Cappabianca were great teachers as well as Mrs. Avella! They respond to your emails, calls, and texts and help you when you need it. I highly recommend Florida Virtual School for other home school students. If I could make it 1M stars I would!
Terrible. The worst system to teach ever invented.!!!
FlVS sucks!!! I hate everything about it. It is super stressful and no matter how much work I do I am somehow always behind! The lessons are super difficult and long. If you do decide to sign up for this crappy website you better hope you dont get Mrs.DeCambre as your 7th grade math teacher, because if you do it will make your FLVS experience 10 times worse!
You learn almost nothing from most of the courses aside from some AP courses. The course are almost all brain dead boring and do not get you involved whatsoever. I will give it 3 stars on the fact that it gives free prerequisite and other tedious credits you need for important classes. This is the only use iv found for it and feel bad for anyone enrolling full time using FLVS.
If I could give this 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. The teachers DO NOT I repeat DO NOT care about a student or their success as they drone on about. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROGRAM. Find another way to do home school if you can or stay in public school. This review is coming from a student who left public school for this disaster. DO NOT attend FLVS. It is a complete waste of time and energy.
Advertised to be a fitting for all schedules, The biggest lie ever, the assignments are Vague and are old and dont get fixed when you find an Error, the teachers are not there when you need them.
My husband and I are so incredibly grateful to Ms. Yambray for her participation in our daughter s education. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Yambray s English 4 class and Ms. Yambray. Ms. Yambray is a special teacher who has brought out our daughter's love of writing to a greater degree. My husband and I are grateful for Ms. Yambray and for the inspiring way she has encouraged our daughter to challenge and express herself. She has launched our daughter into the world of writing and poetry analysis with confidence and enthusiasm.
I am a student currently doing FLVS for my 2nd year for high school. I have also done it for a year in middle school. It can be flexible and I understand the teachers have to contact you to keep you on track... Most of the teachers I've had are nice and seem to care about the students and I have total respect for them!... but there seems to be a vast amount of students assigned to each class (Covid-19 has not helped.) My point is its difficult to get in contact with your teachers and I'm guessing they are low on staff. To add on, the what I've noticed is that the material in the courses and lessons seem outdated and barely interactive. I think this could be improved and the lessons could be updated to be more interesting for students wanting to learn or who have Attention Disorders (like myself). We all know, reading pages after pages can become boresome. This begs me to ask the question if those in higher positions in charge of the student's learning strategies or the way this Virtual school is run even has the kids in their best interest? Furthermore, Zoom is a confusing outlet for having Live Lessons, in my opinion. Some Live Lessons are pointless and leave you to do the majority of the assignment by yourself after it or at other times the host will briefly go through the Lesson and then rush through completing the assignment. I have also been kicked out of a Live Lesson before, for no reason. I have seen the negative reviews and most seem to be fellow students. I think they have valid concerns that need to be called to attention by enacting change with how this school is run.
Absolutely adore this Virtual school! It s about MASTERY vs just going thru the motions of school! Thank you so much!
I don't really learn with this method of just teaching myself, it just causes stress and wastes time for me. I'm not really learning anything and the subjects are just hard to work with. I would rather take the real classroom then stress over something I don't really know about and fail it either way. This program is good for electives but for subjects i would give this system an F. It's the most frustrating system and should be put down.
I dont like to say I hate things but honestly I never want to hear about flvs ever again. Too demanding and stressing
I love FLVS but everyone once and a while i get kicked out of my own account and then my password wont work. Then i have to restart my password and it doesn't work until 10 minutes later, And then today when this happened it kept kicking me out of FLVS for no reason with an error code."WEB2001-0C980E96-61CF-48D6-AC53-6FFCB08584CC" , now usually i wouldn't mind this much but im trying to finish my work before school starts again and im having trouble doing that with the amount of times i can't even login.
there is going to be a generation of floridians with severe chronic stress and depression due to flvs. i ve never met someone who s had a good experience with it. absolutely unreal how awful this is.
Hello,
My son Liam just finished his class with Mrs. Donley. She was extremely nice and helpful, always available, it was a real pleasure to get in contact with her.
She was able to keep my son motivated during the entire segment. (!)
The assignments are pointless and overwhelmingly long. There're constantly harassing you do submit assignments and even will lock you out when you submit the assignments they don't work around your schedule and this isn't a good alternative way to get credits it adds more stress to anyone's life and I did Spanish 1 sophomore year and I worked a part time and then my senior year I did history and English I also explained I worked a full time and would only be able to do assignments on my days off and and weekend and they would get prissy about it and lock me out by the weekend so I couldn't submit anything. And I'm giving two stars just to be nice
Ive really liked it so far. Im in 7th grade and it isn't as difficult as most of the other reviews are saying. ALL of my teachers respond to my messages within 24 hours and ALL of my teachers are very friendly and helpful. I am still giving it a 4 stars though because the "work at your own pace" thing is a complete lie. There are pace charts you have to follow. I don't mind it because I am able to get all of my work done but, it is still a lie.
FLVS sucks it's that simple I hate every bit of it, it sucks
It's great, my daughter is keeping up with her classes!
I'm currently doing flvs school as my regular school finishing 8th grade
It's no to hard as long as you concentrate on doing your work
.
Its plain trash regular school is way better you won't learn anything from this.
EDIT: Not a fan of the new updates. Kicks me out of the class if I'm idle for 20 minutes... I find that annoying, since for some of the longer lessons, it takes me a bit to scroll through it or I'll have to be multitasking. Not impressed.
Decent. Last year they were amazing, the teachers, everything. They acted professionally as one should expect and didn't mark me off for little things as most public schools would. The club part of it had never gotten back to me however, but thats no big deal. Well, this year so far hasn't been so great. It states welcome calls are able to be made with a child then later set up with a parent at a separate time. Let me tell you this, my teacher didn't accept that. He claimed he found it "kinda dumb" to do that, although we could not be there at the same time. He dropped me from the class right after that call, not giving me a chance to reschedule. However, that is the teachers fault. I'm really giving it three stars because its been a few weeks and they still have not assigned me to a teacher! I am currently only in math and french courses, the other four I need have not been assigned to me! I clicked to start the next day but yet that did not happen. I would mind not if it had only been one week, but as said its been a few already, waiting to be assigned. It's decent for online schooling, but obviously needs work.
To anyone taking FLVS DON'T DO IT WITH PASCO ESCHOOL. They make your life extremely difficult. I was taking a U.S. Government Class with Mrs. Podany and she was always so complicated to work with. In the end I finished all the assignments for the segment except for the final exam. I took the Exam and I lost it twice due to the fact I had issues with the power at my house at the time. Both times everything was out of my control.....Mrs. Poday being a terrible teacher did not allow me to take it again even though a close friend of mine was able to reset their exam 3-4 times! She asked for my parents to DRIVE all the way to a school to take the Exam ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! We tried to set it up but it always fell through. Anyways I underwent a knee surgery and was on heavy pain medication only to find out today I was being kicked out of my class. Turns out she had emailed me while I was on "Heavy pain Meds". I never saw it due to the fact I was just out of surgery! NOW I FIND OUT I'M BEING KICKED OUT OF THE CLASS WITH ONE ASSIGNMENT LEFT. The fact I'm being kicked out with one assignment left proves why ESCHOOL and this Mrs. Podany are just plain mediocre. The schooling system is so poor thanks to teachers like Mrs. Podany. This teacher is a terrible. Eschool is terrible. FLVS you should do something to fix this. NO ONE SHOULD BE KICKED OUT BECAUSE A TEACHER ISN'T ABLE TO FIGURE A WAY FOR YOU TO TAKE A TEST. NO ONE SHOULD BE KICKED OUT WITH ONE ASSIGNMENT LEFT IN THE CLASS AFTER WORKING SO HARD. So ridiculous.
it was going very good when we started but its almost impossible to get 50-60 lessons a month which is a lot of work but overall i think it was very good but they need to lower there lessons! i recommend for students that work very hard and have a lot of free time in thheir hand!

First things first. I like FLVS! It helped my when my grades were D s and F s in public school. Then when I joined, I got straight A s. The one thing that concerns me is...Why do teachers say 60% is passing! A 70% is average, 60% is below average. I m not trying to hate. All my teachers are nice and all, but I hate it when they say 60% is PASSING! D s won't get you to college. The teachers love to help you out, but they all leave at 4:35
I get they have their own lives but what if you need help.
Teacher are terrible and pester you. Quiz and test questions are either hard to understand or way too easy, forcing you to rely on the insufficient advice of teacher. One time I asked my math teacher a question on a quiz and she didn't know the answer. This is not work at your own pace unless you are part-time.
