As a student on FLVS, I can say that it has been a really great opportunity. I enjoy how my teacher is helpful in answering all my questions. The website is easy to navigate. I know that many states don't offer a vitural school as good as this one. I love how I'm able to take High School Credit course over the summer, and get a start for next year. And still attend a public school. The only thing that annoys me, is that the Spanish 1 course, doesn't go over most of the Spanish words. Instead, it talks about Hispanic Culture, Cognates, and verb forms. However, it's a great program to earn the credits.

I was very excited to enroll in FLVS . I have taken a elective course my freshman year and it was fine. Fast-forward to my junior year I take U.S government and economics. My u.s government teacher always has tech issues and is very unorganized. I can turn in an assignment and she will only give me 1 point . I just started my economics class 2 weeks ago and this morning I received a message saying I am being withdrawn from the course . I attend a district school , I have seven classes and most are honors. I also have a job . I do not have the time to be exactly on POINT with their scheduling . Some of FLVS teachers are not open-minded at all and will withdraw you in a blink of an eye. I don't think FLVS is fair at all when it comes to academic classes. FLVS gives false advertisement because you can NOT go at YOUR OWN PACE. I tried sending out a help ticket but no one called or sent out a email to help me out. I am very disappointed because I might have to take economics at school and I just wasted my time on this course. My parents are disappointed because I am being withdrawn and the teachers are making it sound like it's me. The teachers need to be more considerate and less threatening about withdraws. I am a very honest person. FLVS please work on getting better and students should come first.

I was trying to enroll my son into the program for the past couple of days with no results. Customer service is trash. You wait for at least 30 minutes to even have someone answer the call. And when you finally get through, someone tries to help you but can't help you because they are unsure of how to help. One person told me one thing, another person told me the opposite. We home school the children and they won't accept him because of his age. What is the point of the flex program if you can't use it? If it's not available the way it is supposed to be used?

Considering a lawsuit. Look, I am well aware that everyone is stressed out from the pandemic teachers and staff very likely to be included, HOWEVER.... Aren't we all suppoed to be in this together? Many students and parents are very new & green to this whole online learning format, but some (not all, there are a few amazing teachers who have been very kind and understanding, so thank you to the good teachers, this isn't about the proud and the few who are fantastic) seriously bad apple teachers are cracking the whip on those pace charts like you owe them blood money. How many other parents have also had their kids teachers play musical chairs and switch on them several times? The DBAs, the pace charts, the assignments work load? It's overwhelming! I had to cut back on my hours at work just to keep track of what my kids were doing for school and to keep them on task and they are still somehow behind. AND how am I supposed to make money when I have less hours at work? All for what? More stress? Pulling my hair out? Losing sleep at night? Worried about my kids grades and exams and projects? One project involved creating a website. Who has this kind of time? And if I wasn't home to help, how would my kids know how to create a website from scratch at home on Wix? They're in middle school for pete's sake! And some teachers act like the other teachers do not even exist and they are the only ones on the planet earth handing out assignments. "It's not that hard." Umm, it is when your kid has 6 to 7 classes to keep track of or you have multiple children! Seriously considering both a lawsuit and homeschooling so that I can come up with my own damn curriculum and pace chart. This school owes me backpay, the cost of all the supplies and study guides I've had to purchase to figure these courses out, plus the medication and therapy I'm gonna need to try to survive this semester. I've even had one teacher call my kid's phone at 8:30 am asking for a parent just to "let me know" that my kid is 5 lessons behind so if we could work on that... Stress. Pure, stress. This is like trying to get middle school kids through college level online classes with that level of pace. What the hell? Oh! And get this. You know what one teacher told me when I informed her that my child has learning disabilities and an IEP? "Just do school work on the weekends if he takes too long during the week. That will give him a little bit of extra time." Oh yeah. Okay. Sure. Never rest. Just do school all week long. Is this hell? Are we in hell? Look man, I agree that teachers should be paid way more and I'm willing to get a petition signed for that here in Florida because good teachers are underpaid...But this is ridiculous. Nobody signed up for this. Let's crush everyone's spirits. Let's have an unreasonable workload and dump that on children and parents who have NEVER done anything like this before. The welcome meetings made it sound so simple. Nah. Say goodbye to yourlife. Update: Just scrolled through other reviews, 2,412 and counting look at the percentages most are 1 star, runner up is 5 star. Why? Because the school responds with a quick "I'm sorry to hear about your experience" note and then has it's own staff send in a dozen 5 star reviews to bring up their percentage rating... Fishy, my dudes, very fishy.

I am extremely opposed to this POS program that has ruined my friends life, as well as many others. He lacks fundamental social skills with both genders and is afraid of eating lettuce; FLVS is fully to blame. He shakes when he eats. Stress migraines, social anxiety, and the fear of choking are all byproducts of this program. If you think I'm joking read on. See my comment along with others that are similar, watch them quickly become stamped with a prewritten apology. It is an online hell of DBA's and confusion. A specialized, socialist program that succeeds in transforming inoccent hatchlings into full blown social ostriches, with their heads buried in a sand called dillusion.

Its fine but so harder then school. Okay I just started doing Creative Photography and its not as fun as I thought it will be. It evens asked me for my social security number and other private information that is not okay! but besides that i have a good teacher.

It all depends on what you take. If you take elective credits, GREAT they are better than sticking in a class for half a year for something that doesn't really matter. You MUST like writing, a lot of questions are written responses that take a long time. Teachers vary, I like the happy ones, usually they leave you alone unless your behind a week or two. I have gotten a few passive aggressive remarks, but I do like to keep in mind I'm sure these teachers have bigger problems than you at the moment. I recommend it, though, be careful what you take.

EDIT: Five Months Later Update. To fill you in at full depth you start off with a login process which is tedious, but then you finally get in your courses "dashboard." Anyways, there are countless hour consuming assignments you can spend hours on, BUT there are always great alternatives to them. Instead of completing an entire lab form by yourself, you can complete the lab with an entire collective team of students and get it done in a nice hour and a half. Except, instead of watching all these pointless Khan Academy videos that usually confuse you, you have a teacher right there with you to answer questions. Although live lessons are at the worst times possible 3pm, 7pm, etc, they can save you so much work and help you learn. Its like being at a dinner table with your teacher. Everything is laid out in front of you and you can interrupt, ask questions, or make a soft hearted joke whenever you please. Its a pleasant way to be social in a classroom without actually talking. The chatroom to text the teacher is pure genius. She can get to your question without you having to raise your hand like a fool. Overall, there are definitely some courses you should prepare your typing fingers for, especially English, but I highly recommend math and science if you USE the resources. Otherwise you are going to fall behind and hate FLVS. Just plan your courses accordingly and make sure your not biting off more than you can chew. :)

I hate this so much. My teacher would never pick up her phone, even though I would call during her hours. I tried doing a lesson and an assessment but it wouldn't submit because she never had me "officially" started (because she didn't answer her phone). Recently "withdrew" me from the course because she's "Leaving". This is Virtual School... you can work from where ever the hell you are... so honestly I don't really understand why she wouldn't bother to close her current class and just finish up with everyone who has already been signed up. Because, now it looks like I dropped the class because I failed. But I didn't fail... I wasn't even given the option to fail...
I am only taking this course because I have a requirement to take an online course to graduate. The amount of money saved in not having to hire real teachers to teach real classes could never be worth the lack of personal attention. The teachers don't really know anything about any of their students other than their name grade and school. They really don't care either.
Also the overall concept of using a computer to take a class is horrible. The idea of real people answering our questions verbally, and actually teaching us things is something you don't notice the importance of until you are forced to try to learn without those resources.
Too add on, the website looks like it was designed by a middle schooler. It doesn't really matter how many pictures of happy kids you put up on the welcome screen, virtual school really doesn't make happy kids. Taking this online course, in fact, makes me feel like someone who isn't smart enough to take courses in person.
I will stop my rant here because I know that no matter how much I type, nothing will really change.
Thanks Rick Scott.

Slightly less soul-crushing than public school. We need a major change in our countries approach to education. You're raising a generation of factory workers, essentially robbing the youth of their creativity and free will. It's all just disgusting.

So much more work, loads of stress. Only benefits is if your really motivated you can complete the classes before the semester ends and get a longer vacation. Also, the teacher are pretty nice other than the fact most kind of rush you to finish stuff.

Terrible class. its making me want to KMS. I don't like talking on the phone its painful, When your teacher is to lazy to come to class when more than half the class is on the assignment is bad we all waited and wasted 45min for her to pick up the phone. Dont even get me started on the stay at your own pace Its sad how much companies lie to people to get money . you get kicked out of a class for no reason. the site is a scam if you ask me. Mrs. Sorg or my teacher hasn't done me anything. whenever i call the office or text her she never responds even when she is supposed to be working. I haven't learned one thing this whole year the class shouldn't be even considered a thing its a sad excuse of a school class. It took me 3 weeks to finish a class that last 1 semester like what!! I just find it sad excuse for anything. I know your reading this owner i see your responses to the good things no the bad thing good job making a terrible site ;p [claps]
I'm sorry anyone who has to be put into this class is cancerous. Honestly i think a 4 year old could make a better teaching way then FLVS. OWNER THIS IS FOR YOU- you are false advertising which is against the law. working at your own pace means your own pace not 4 assignments a week are you stupid, this course should be fixed very disappointed with it. Its really stupid how such a strong school state could let this 1st grader class make it ti high school. Online learning is great but not FLVS its so bad. The Fact that you can lie to people online about working at your own pace is sad. OWNER YOU SHOULD RESPOND
ONLY GOOD THING OUT OF THE CLASS IS TO LEARN NEVER TO TAKE IT AGAIN. I'm sorry for whoever is stuck in it now, you will be out of the living hell soon
Also the fact that it makes you change your password is stupid. I just got locked out of my account and lost 1 semester full of work thanks FLVS.
You guys really are the joy of my everyday redoing a whole class again yea not funny . Your website deserves to be taken down because of false advertising. I WOULD LOVE FOR THE OWNER TO CONTACT ME AT MY PERSONAL EMAIL SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT YOUR SITE.
it might just be me but the site really seams like the companies are using it just to gain money. These are the reasons your sites are ranked so low.

I don't want a BS bot MSG i want you to email me.

Also how your teacher is supposed to be willing to let you have more time instead of rushing you, Well the teacher i had expected me to do over 3 assignments over spring break which is vacation and time to stay away from school. I SUGGEST NOT TO TAKE IT

You are a real person so what about the false advertising?

I don't usually make bad reviews on places but i had to write one for FLVS full time.

i'm currently in 7th grade and it's so stressful it makes me want to scream, i would give this one star if it wasn't for the majority of good teachers even though there are some bad ones but i understand because that happens everywhere as well, they never give you enough time to work on lessons and its never an exam and they always give you papers of work to do, also the websites they use look like there made for a 5 year old as well looking like they were made in 2007, the live lessons are slow and laggy, it mostly takes about 2 hours for a teacher to respond or grade an assignment, this is my personnel opinion on FLVS if you like it then good for you but i'm not a fan. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

My whole experience on FLVS has not been a great o...

My whole experience on FLVS has not been a great one. Firstly, I moved about 3/4 of the way through my second semester to another county. I thought that I could just pick up where I left off and finish the few weeks of school I had left, but no. I had to restart the entire semester in all of my classes, and to make it worse, I couldn't just breeze through some work because I had already learned it because it was stuff that I had never seen before and never learned. That was extremely confusing to me. I had been in school almost a full year and I barley knew any of the material in the classes I HAD ALREADY TAKEN. So, this has taken up my entire summer when I thought it would take me a few weeks. I start regular school next Thursday. Secondly, I think DBAs are ridiculous. They do not to anything for me but stress me out. I do not learn anything from them. So bottom line, I will not be recommending FLVS to any of my friends.

This school has been a blessing to our family. The teachers and staff are always there to help. The lessons, live lessons, field trips, and clubs are awesome. I suggest this school to any and every parent I meet. My children absolutely love their teachers. Each one is so caring. thank you flvs for being an awesome school!

The teachers force appon a pace for students to work that might not work for all students. Very unhelpful I've been to the actually flvs twice and I still haven't been helped none of the teachers or anyone is ever there. Horrible school.

Perfect choice to supplement a homeschool curriculum. While some teachers have been better than others (as expected anywhere), all teachers have been pleasant and competent at the very least, and some have been outstanding. We love the flexibility it affords, as it fits right into our homeschooling lifestyle. The course offerings are varied and impressive. Wish we had the time to take more.

This is one of the worst if not the worst times of my life I have went through I'm gonna start off by saying that I DO NOT recommend this to any parent who loves their kid/kids.im now gonna start with my story my teacher ms. alvarez is one of the worst teachers I have had in my entire school life she has a short temper and will threaten to remove me from my class even if I missed one assessment but the worst thing she does is leave very smart type comments on my work if I get something wrong she will say something like "can you read the directions"she will tell me one thing on the phone then contact my parents and then tell them something else. but anyways lets get into the school itself for starters the "do work on your own pace"advert is nothing but lies that my parents fell for.you in fact have to do 4 assessments every week for each class and three if you somehow get lucky. also the lessons are full of garbage that barely explain to me the actual lesson of what I have to do and the assignments are just time wasters that take forever to complete . now the teachers main behavior I have had teachers that have been really nice and then teachers who haven't even been helpful but everyone of them instead of explain to me what the main problem of my work is will just tell me to go to the help guide (which is not helpful at all!). this virtual school has not only ruined my social life but has also made me depressed and stressed out I now only have one friend that I can only see over the internet who I barely can see anymore. parents listen to me when I say this I haven't even learned anything through all the classes I have had to take the only reason you should ever put your kids through this is either for torture or for extra classes like drivers ed and Spanish. if your kid is just beginning this torture take them out do your research and get a better school if you have kids that are ending a segment and you are planning on sighning them up you do not love your kids and do not care about their education flvs I really do hope you either get better or rot in hell.

Ok so the first few weeks were pretty good then I learned stuff that wasn t even on the test it is one quite per day and then they move on to something completely different I did all of my assignments with my classes well now it is the end of the semester and either the teacher rejected them or they apparently were not done I would not recede do this school to anybody I feel that the teachers should call you instead of you calling them

It's quite convenient being able to turn in assignments at your leisure. I find virtual schooling vastly superior to public education, since it's not obligatory to attend classes in a public class room with all the environmental distractions. Consequently, I find myself receiving a superior education with virtual schooling. Not to mention being able to complete assignments in your pajamas.

Ok, so here's the deal. This school sucks, BUT it does tell you what you can and cannot handle. You have to have SERIOUS discipline and you cannot get distracted what's-so-ever or you will have the urge to jump of a bridge ( seriously... ). This school will give you SO much unneeded stress... you may think 3 assignments is a walk in the park... IT ISN'T! You HAVE to do 12 assignments a week ( or more ) or the teachers will hate you and you will be left behind. I am obviously not self-disciplined at all because I couldn't even make it through my first year ( public school here I come! )... this school is WAY worse than you think.

I have been enrolled into FLVS for about a year no...

I have been enrolled into FLVS for about a year now, and I personally think this a good school overall. I mean, having to deal with a limited amount of people is a dream, is it not? Although DBAs are stressful, you only have to do them like a few times a month, plus a couple collaborations. Most of the teachers are really nice and try their best to help you understand the content. I know some teachers are hard to schedule with, but I keep in mind that they have a BUNCH of students to tend to as well, and not to mention the assignments they have to grade too (someone give them a raise, seriously.), there are even quizzes they have to grade. So, I kind of cut them some slack. BUT, the only thing I am kinda iffy about is some of the courses they have to offer. Based on personal experience, learning a language online is HARD. The Spanish course has livelessons at the most inconvenient time, so I personally couldn't attend them. That kinda stunk, because you can only learn so much by reading about a different language, and not HEARING it as much. (Math is also the same way. Some students need to have an extra boost in that subject, and math tends to be very hard in general now. I mean, I am not ragging on FLVS in particular, but every school in general is like this. Math is just a complicated subject to teach, and it makes students fail the EOCs. Geometry is okay, because the EOC isnt mandatory to pass. Algebra is where the difficulty is.) FLVS is awesome overall, and it's important to remember that not all schools are perfect.

Virtual School is awesome! It's work at your own pace works great for anybody with a busy schedule and my teacher is super nice! The way the modules are broken down are very easy to understand and the different approaches to teaching with videos and graphic organizers make the material comprehensible for any student!

Tried public school and found middle school to be very harsh for a teenager. We started mid year and while that was a challenge, we pulled through. My daughter is in the beginning of her 8th grade year and we couldn't be happier. This is a process. Trial and error. You have to find what works best for your family and once you have done that things will fall into place. These teachers are very busy and they may not be able to get to us right when we need them, but they do try their best! We have had a very pleasant experience this year and LOVE all of the teachers!

As a recently retired educator of secondary level ...

As a recently retired educator of secondary level students, I have been very impressed with the Florida Virtual School (FLVS) experience that I have observed through my grandchild. Both he and his mother have commented on how engaging and exciting the program is and, of course, educational. The first experiences have involved Spanish I and II. His instructors, especially Dr. Arrieta for Spanish II, are accessible, enthusiastic, give timely feedback, and positive encouragement. Not only is my grandson able to advance in meeting his high school requirements but at the same time he is becoming experienced with online courses.

What FLVS has to offer is invaluable not only to its full time or part time students who may thrive more outside of the traditional classroom setting but also for those students who are part time participants seeking an accelerated approach to their education. FLVS provides excellence in online learning opportunities for the diverse needs of its students, and for this reason I highly recommend this educational option.

The work is way too tedious and time consuming, and often doesn't account for anything because the tests have way different questions and you end up forgetting the material shortly. Getting behind is probably the worst thing to happen to you. I have been behind in a few classes because I got sick witht the flu and I'm still not caught up despite working till 9-10 every night, weekends, holiday breaks, and more. I'm wondering if I will ever get caught up!
The teachers have been quite nice to me but as many have said take forever to get back and you can either wait for their reply and get behind in the class or deal with whatever problem yourself and not learn.
The working at your own pace thing is a joke. You are required to submit 3-5 assignments per class a week! I'm taking 6 courses for full time and it sucks! That's 18 assignments a week at the least!
I have social anxiety and depression so I thought this school would help me improve my GPA and work in a less stress environment at my own pace. WRONG. It is more stressful and not worth joining. Any parents considering this be warned. This will not help your child if they deal with mental illness, physical illness, or a new way to do school.

Worst School ever to do online, I've had the worst experience with you guy's. The teacher's always take a week to grade and then they never answer when you need them, and they don't even allow you to turn in things when you have a chance. People have lives and other things to do! You should have taken that into consideration.

Florida virtual school expects students to do way too much regardless of age, and regardless of mental capability. it expects much of students, although most of their students struggle in regular schools. my friend killed herself over the stress caused by her virtual school courses. nontheless, the staff does not show much compassion, but leaves short, chopped comments. praise is limited, so students feel underscored, and criticism is over the top. what kind of school does that to its students?

I dont understand how you can study and take notes for a test then fail because the test has no relation whatsoever with the lesson. NONE of the info is on the tests... They changed format and it now sucks. None of you needed info is on the home screen. im not the only one i know who has issues with this program... Please, I beg of you! DO NOT PUT YOUR KIDS IN THIS SCHOOL! Unless they go back to old format, this is the worst thing for kids to do...

Teachers switched 3 times, got kicked out on an announced vaction, and the workload is crazy, only two sumbitted assignments per week, but 3-5 lessons per assignment, so hours of work every week. They have tried to help me, and it is a new course, so understandable. Would recommend NOT taking new courses.

I personally love FLVS. I believe that every student is different and has a different way that they like to learn but personally this is one of the ways that I can learn without stressing out. I take all of my classes on FLVS including Creative photography and Guitar, at first I was kind of lost and I didn't know how to use my time wisely which lead to be being a bit behind on my work. I understood that it was my own fault this was happening so I decided to change my schedule and now i am about to finish with 3 of my classes only leaving 3 for me to finish. The teachers are very nice, patient and understanding and they normally pick up my calls and respond to my texts. When they don't pick up or respond they always find a time in their day to call me back or text me.

Incredibly horrible for anyone who thinks this could give them a boost. If you think that public schools are bad in any way, think again. These one star reviews about people getting depressed and stressed and wanting to off themselves are true. Don't think 'oh it's gonna be different with me' because I did the same thing. I've almost failed multiple classes in one single semester because of this sub par system of work. Don't think you being introverted and shy with people means you have to do work online, because you also have to talk to and contact people here, just to even think about passing. Pace charts I've been given have said to do one-two assignments for this week. Fair enough, I've done them. Now I'm withdrawn because I have to do FOUR as opposed to the two I was instructed to do by the pace charting. Having to spend my summer now finishing this work I've been held up on instead of waiting to go to high-school and see my friends again. Fun.

I don't know why but every time i enroll in a new class i always get stupid teachers that don't want to help anyone idk if any one else ever had this problem but this home school is more like torture then home school k-12 is 20 times better then this shitty site don't every sign up for this is coming from a student that is still taking flvs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took my first FLVS class -which was Business Keyboarding- 2 years ago. I took this class over the summer and I remember it being a lot easier than now. I am currently taking Biology 1 and I thought you were allowed to work at your own pace, which is nice seeing as I can fall behind sometimes and pick myself back up. But earlier today I discovered I was locked out of my class and was asked to contact my instructor. I had no clue that I was 4 weeks behind in my class and and never received an issued warning about my pace. But now I am stuck out of my class and my instructor isn't responding to my texts. If I can get back into my class and continue on with Biology I would be very pleased, but as of now I don't think that is going to happen. All I really wish for would be an easier way to be notified of my pace against everyone else (Maybe an email every week explaining where I am in the class as an average) Thanks for reading my review and I'm all for feedback so let me know if there is anything I should know.

First off, EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion. The opinion is not wrong simply because you don't agree. Everyone's situation is different. I don't appreciate Troll teachers or parents diminishing a students opinion. It is the STUDENTS opinion that actually matters most here. I am a PARENT that appreciates my 2 FLVS students opinion immensely. I am also well aware of every situation that causes issues with their education and take into account every side before making my own opinion and resolve. I won't dare put them back into a "public" school. However I am seeing after being involved with FLVS for 3 years ( which is probably more than half of those that commented.)
a steady decline in every aspect of this school. Some of which are;
1. FLVS does not understand STATE requirements for PE and PE exemptions.
2.Teachers hardly ever answer the phone or return a call or a webmail in a timely fashion.
3. The PRINCIPAL does not even return calls for days.
4. MANY times answers to tests are wrong and my children actual notify the teachers!
5. You are a number
The list goes on and on...
Needless to say - We will be looking elsewhere next year for sure!

Spanish 2 is just to complicated. I dread when I have to call my teacher for DBA's because its embarrassing and it puts a lot of pressure on me because i have to try and remember the information on the module and i always forget. I wish they would just stop making us have to do these DBA's

FLVS is okay in my opinion, however it can be stressful at times. In my 2nd segment of math my teacher is quitting, which makes things more difficult. I believe history takes too much time with written assignments, especially ones with charts. FLVS just takes some getting used to. Once you are adjusted to your weekly work load you can stay on pace easier. Juggling three classes wasn't working for me, and my photography teacher kicked me out and never responded to my emails. I was kicked out of language arts before I even started the class, not even the first phone call I had scheduled. I would like a better way to stay on track considering I tend to have problems with this. I currently am on two classes. I do plan on continuing flvs.

I find the work very hard. I always have to constantly be on my computer working. FLVS also prevents kids to have a "normal" school life in which you have friends, field trips, and hands on activities. But the teachers are good at what they do and are constantly motivating you to do more work.

I personally do not understand all the negativity that people give this service. I personally love FLVS and am currently on my 3rd course. I first took a class through them as I was moving from another state and had to get caught up for the different school system we have in Florida. I have a very easy time getting an A in these classes, all the material is very comprehensible if you try. Just like a normal class in real life you have to actually try to get the grade, you can't just sign up and expect a perfect score on everything. I have taken Physics, Bio and Geometry on FLVS and have had minimal issues. The only thing that was a complication was my teacher signed me up for a really late date for biology and I had to complete the course in an absurd amount of time. FLVS its self is a wonderful program and I fully intend to take more classes through them.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am currently doing FLVS flex for Spanish 1 and I have barely learned a thing. It s like i m teaching myself. I dread doing this course everyday especially when i m not learning. I was so excited to start mow I feel like quitting everyday. Overall, FLVS is definitely not for me AT ALL and I will never agree to take a course on here again unless it was very very important.

If you can, just go to school. There's more pressure from one class to get 6 assignments done a week than the one assignment per class @ school. Lies of "at your own pace", but most of my work has been done around my teachers schedule and I've been locked out for going at my own pace. Not to mention that the teachers grade too harshly! I'm taking one class & the fact that my GPA from regular school is a 3.9 and since beginning FLVS it's dropped down to a 3.6-3.7. Not Happy at all!

I love FLVS. I don't know why everyone is complaining about how many assignments they give you because they give you the same amount of assignments a normal public school gives you (sometimes even less). Some people talk about how they don't want to sit in front of a computer all day but that's what you signed up to do when joining FLVS... All my teachers are nice, and I like how organized everything is. The teachers also have a live lesson once a week where they discuss lessons that you're supposed to complete by the end of the week, so if you get confused then you can just join the live lesson and it will probably help.

Constructive criticism.

Constructive criticism.
Listen FLVS you probably wont even care about this review or take it into consideration. but just before you copy and paste your "sorry messages" hear us out. this message will most definitely be on behalf all the students in this school. ill be going over the day in the life of a student.

. you may not be the fastest worker on earth and may need some time to work. Thats mostly why we look up to this program. because you guys boldly praise the statement WORK ON YOUR OWN PACE. but on behalf of me and all the reviews and the students, i can officially confirm that this statement is absolutely worthless. no you cannot work at your own pace you have to work at a charts pace.

. you get a email from your teacher stating that " you're not a 50% done yet Ali!" As you may specifically have a personal issue such as your computer not functioning or family etc. you are still forced to get these assignments done. However if your absolutely careless teacher hears about this they will say "okay Ali just finish your assignments". -_-

Lets enter the topic of dbas. now dbas are oral exams on the phone. ok sounds simple. however these dbas are the most nerve racking, worrying thing on flvs. take a look at anyone of the reviews.

"OK Ali finish your assignments to get to your 50%!". ok may i get some help? [2 days later]
Hello. can you please help me i haven't got a response. still no response.
this is a super common issue with all the students. teachers wont cooperate!
Now, is it better than public school? yes. if you're fed up with public school give it a try! will i have a good time? absolutely not. you're are guaranteed to deal with this junk.

Very easy and helpful, Id' recommend this to anyone :3

(I'm editing this) And another thing, I've read a whole lot of these comments and the majority of them are all negative, all of you people that say that you can't work at your own pace like it says you can, come on... this is a SCHOOL... not kiddie academy, your expected to do at least SOME work a week. All you have to do is apply yourself and you can get it done. Sure, some teachers can be rude, mean, or ill-mannered, but that's not FLVS's fault, it's the teachers themselves, and I'm not saying you shouldn't report said teachers, but keep in mind your hateful comment about FLVS itself may turn away a student that would have had a nice and easy time getting through a class. I myself have had a pleasant time doing 2 to 3 assignments a day, so people doing 2 to 3 assignments a week shouldn't complain. I feel the need to thank you 'Owner' for putting up with all the hateful reviews.

Great depending on your circumstances and the classes you take. I'll admit that English and History are MUCH easier and more manageable to do on your own time. These are subjects in physical school that usually need a good teacher to make it beneficial. So having all the info you need in one spot makes it very easy to retain the information for these specific subjects. When it came to math and science, it was very frustrating to me as I am a hands-on learner. I appreciate the help that is offered but I think it is just one of those things that is nearly impossible to grasp unless you are in person with a teacher to help guide you along the way. Overall, I'm happy with the classes I've taken. But I will admit some of the classes I retained little, if any, information from the courses.

I have been using FLVS since August 11th and have hated just about every minute of it. It is basically just a slideshow and at the end they either have a quiz or something else. My brother is lucky as his class hasn't been using FLVS as much but I still use it basically everyday. The formatting and wording of the quiz and slides is hard to understand, The pretest is pointless Stay away from this platform!

its eh, the teacher was really nice and supportive, Mrs. Wang from Chinese one. However, we are not given enough time to absorb the info. i fell behind on the 1st unit, and only really remembered that. maybe give more time or lower the work load.

I was removed from my class because the teacher never called me and then dropped me from his class. To be reinstated you must submit a help report after waiting to receive a special account to be able to access the place to send a report. I am "not authorized" to send a help report and when I called and asked for a reason I was told it was a problem on my end and was abruptly hung up on. This is a horrible establishment that prides themselves in their lackluster learning environment. The teachers send a copy and pasted message whenever you turn in something or ask a question you receive the same message every time. This is a horrible excuse for a learning establishment. And now we wait for a response that says nothing more than "Oh no, Were sorry".

We have been using this curriculum for 2 weeks through our county virtual program. I VERY STRONGLY dislike it. The lessons don t adequately prepare the student for the assessment at the end of the lesson. Too much information is also crammed into one lesson. It also seems that the assessments are designed to trick the student into choosing the wrong answer. I am planning on buying my own curriculum for my son (a 5th grader) and homeschooling on my own, since I m already having to sit with him all day and basically try to teach him the lessons myself.

As a homeschooled student flvs works all right in combination with my college courses. My main complaint is that, at least the teachers I have, prefer to direct every issue to my parents in the form of a text or phone call that I don't receive. So i'll just be sitting at my desk doing work when suddenly "WHY THE HELL IS YOUR TEACHER SAYING YOU PLAGIARIZED THIS ASSIGNMENT"(plagiarism is just an example but you get the idea) and i'll have no idea what he is talking about because he likes to take 5 minutes to get to the point (also irrelevant but i'm incredibly tired and cant really stop tangents at this point). So i'd say lack of directness gets it a 3/5 but its made my step-dad pretty stressed out and I hate his guts at this point so a pretty solid 4 stars. 8/10 Would be worked around again.

I moved to Florida not too long ago from a school which practiced block scheduling and FLVS has been a life saver for making up credits and empty slots in my schedule. The teachers are helpful and the courses are easy to understand. This school isn't for everyone; to succeed I've noticed that students need to have dedication and responsibility. Whilst some assignments may be tedious, my overall experience with FLVS has been wonderful and I'd gladly take more courses and recommend some for my friends :)

This corporation complete garbage. My son took a class here and the teacher could not email or even speak with correct english/punctuation. The creator of FLVS should immediately commit suicide.

I don't recommend this at all. I started in May 2019. The next week i was withdrawn from 4 classes and was down to 2 classes. They have locked me out of my account more than once causing me to get withdrawn from all my classes. I have contacted them more than once to unlock my account. (So now i can't get my learners permit or drivers license.) They either put me on hold or tell me to call back later. They don't let you go at your own pace like they say they do. It's just like our public schools....disappointing!

FLVS is one of the worst experiences i have ever had. I joined because i had to make up credits for school and may i say, It was awful. These classes cause me even more stress than regular school and that says a lot. Never EVER should a student go through this much stress. There are students who join online school so they can get away from all of the anxiety filled public school work but this program will just cause them even more anxiety. Absolutely awful. I will never recommend this to anyone.

I made a Google account just to say how horrible flvs is. I am apart of the FLVS "Flex" program since i am enrolled in a public high school. At my actual school, I am in the top 10% of a class of 700+ people and have completed 7 AP courses and so many honors courses i have lost track. FLVS is more stressful than any of my AP courses. These teachers expect you just to drop everything youre doing to complete their course. This "work at your own pace" slogan is a complete lie. I'm sorry flvs, i may only submit one assignment a week and this course may take me 6 months becuase im more worried getting an A in my AP class than your online elective. Almost all of my flvs teachers have called me in the middle of my school day, after i have told them many times that i go to a real school. These teachers dont teach you anything, they just grade your work. FLVS is perfect to help me boost my GPA since the courses are an easy A, but that is the only positive thing i can say about the program.
