Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Review

Such a wonderful time we expend at the Fairmont Scottsdale Hotel. 100% recommended

Was there for Christmas at the Princess, it was extremely enjoyable and child friendly.

Gorgeous resort and property overall. There are quite a few different pool options, and the grounds are impeccably maintained. For the money though I'm a little surprised that the rooms have not been updated for what appears to be quite some time. I have stayed at this property three times in the last two years and each time have been in the same wing of rooms, so perhaps I was just in the low rent section :)

I just attended a 2 day conference here. At no time did they notify me of the amount that they were " holding" on my debit card. First night was paid before I arrived. They put a hold of $418.96 for the second night, again without telling me. (actual cost under $200) As I am not the usual well to do client, and I used my debit card to pay, a couple of automatic payments bounced while I was there even though the funds were there. Additionally, there were no instructions as to how to get to my room, which was about as far from the conference center as one could get. Spent at least 15 minutes trying to find the room. Also got lost trying to find the conference building. The little map they give you is not adequate. Conference rooms were freezing. Will not return.

The stay was incredible. The resort was so relaxing and the spa experience was to die for. The first night I did the hacienda wrap which was just ok for me, but the next evening I came to just work out and hang out in the steam room and plunge pool. The robes, the scents, the whole experience was so relaxing and perfect.
I ate dinner at hacienda time and it was amazing both times. Service was great and the chips and salsa were addicting.
The service was top notch and everybody was so nice. I can't wait to be back.

Stayed over my child's winter break. The room was not ready, the staff were dismissive and I felt it was not worth the money.

Went to the Fairmont Princess for the Christmas experience. Had a great time with two kids. The train ride was great! Parking was pricey but all rides were included in the parking fee (fee per car not person).

Did the Christmas experience with my wife and two children. Had an amazing time! Ordered room service for dinner and they messed up our order but they were happy to correct it and even comp our bill. The Christmas Adventure was amazing

My wife and I booked a couple nights here for a much needed staycation. This is definitely the nicest resort we've ever stayed at. We got upgraded to the Fairmont Gold suite, which is 1600sq ft and has two bathrooms. Amazing quality and comfort. They have 5 pools, 5 restaurants, a fishing pond and plenty of activities for kids. We're loving it!

Great place for the family during the winter holidays.

Went for the Christmas set up. It was awesome. A point to consider...a car of up to 6 people gets into the event for $55. Take all 6 to make it worth it. Things are not cheap inside, but entry is reasonable with 6 people.

Absolutely fabulous resort. The pools are wonderful, the beds are luxurious, the food was amazing.

Went to the spa and for only purchasing a pedicure you get access to all the other spa amenities for the whole day, including the pool.

Great hotel. Amazing grounds and good staff. I come back every year. My only complaint is the bon fire smell that takes over the whole place.

Excellent quality, friendly staff and very clean. Parking could do to be a bit closer.

Beautiful property with great staff. I was lucky enough to stay in one of the Casitas and it was bigger than some of the apartments I've lived in. The conference facilities were also very good and the food served delicious. All round a very pleasant stay, just wish I'd had more time to relax and enjoy it.

This is an exceptionally beautiful facility and an oasis in the desert. There is a pool for every taste, a world class spa, beautiful grounds, excellent staff. If you want to leave the hotel there are also a lot of great outdoor activities

Charging for self parking was garbage. Otherwise, really beautiful place.

Work next to it have never stayed their but do go on the edge of their property and work with their security

Love to go see the Christmas at the princess lights. Usually we go to dinner at hacienda inn but they were so busy we couldn't get reservations for weeks ahead of time. Ended up eating at ironwood and it was very good, still Fairmont pricing but we really enjoyed our meal and it's great walking the grounds and seeing all the lights on display.

Our stay was amazing...the beginning started out great with Shelby making sure we all had rooms near each other, we traveled with lots of grandchildren... We had 3 rooms by the beach and everyone from room service, housekeeping, valets, front door, check in, wait staff, poolside...need I say more...coming from a town that specializes in service I am very aware of all around me...Food was excellent...I would come and stay again, even though I have family in the area, and could stay with them...Hats off to everyone at the Princess...

Just went for a quick delivery and everyone was very nice and helpful!

This resort is top notch. There is some many choices for food and family things to do. You wouldn't have to leave the resort for anything. They have it all!!

Great place for a family staycation! Pools were so much fun.

The hotel was so big. We ate a bar and the people working there were so friendly. The food was delicious but alittle pricy.

First Class Resort, service was the best. The rooms and common areas spotless. The pools were perfect and very romantic in the evenings. I'm going to go back and enjoy it many more times.

My stay was so very pleasant. The Staff was so attentive & kind. My room was clean & well laid out. The layout of the grounds was well marked so you didn't get lost. The pools were big and so nice for Families to swim in. All the Entertainment was Fabulous!! I'd definitely go again and encourage others to stay there too. Awesome stay!! Thank you.

Beautiful property. Lots of pools, great amenities. A lot to walk around. Rooms in transition of being remodeled.

Stayed over 4th of July with wife and kids. The fireworks were incredible and so was dinner at Bourbon Steak. Other than that, can t say too much great for this stay. The property appears to be suffering from COVID-19 as much of the landscaping was not doing well such as flower boxes with dead flowers and areas around the property with dead grass. Our room was at the very back of the property and it seemed like a room from the 1980s. The tile and carpet were very old and all very dated. We had some friends staying in another unit that was updated with current finishes so it appears they haven t made it back to remodel these yet. I would say that when you pay premium prices at over $500/night, you expect a beautiful updated and clean room. During the night, The air conditioning would run almost nonstop blowing air down on the bed and it would get you cold then kick off and it would start to get hot then kick on again. In addition, they charge $15/day for us to self park. Just another way to nickel and dime you. The dinner we had at La Hacienda was very average at best. We had been there before when it was much better so not sure what was going on this time. Service at the pool was good despite being very busy with a lot of people for the 4th of July. It seems as if it s a difficult time for high end hotels to live up to their reputations due to Covid-19 and the challenges this has brought. I believe the prices should be in line with what you get and if your going to charge top prices, the hotel needs to deliver top notch rooms and service.

The service you receive from each member of staff is amazing. The resort and grounds are excellent. The only critique, early check-in cannot be guaranteed but there is plenty to do while you wait.

I was very pleasantly surprised with my stay this weekend. We booked a girls staycation for my birthday and as we arrived there were kids and superheros so we were a little worried that we picked the wrong resort; also there was construction going on. However we soon saw that the staff had really planned to be accommodating with the construction (like a DJ at breakfast so you wouldn't just hear drilling). They even made me gluten free pancakes for my birthday. The staff was really trained well as you could hear a sincere apology when they were not able to accommodate another guest request. It was really a great experience that you do not find often. Thanks!

There is a noise disturbance every night but the staff was great and handling the situations

The grounds here are very pretty and had a lot to do for the kids. We had a problem with the room next door partying until 2:30 am. They moved our room the next morning and gave us poolside food credit. They weekend buffet was great and surprisingly inexpensive. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, good meeting facilities, spacious room and pleasant work staff. Even the weather cooperated!

Beautifully designed. Peaceful. Oh... and great golf.

Incredible lights! Slide, ice skating, and Ferris wheel. Kids loved the S'mores. Tasty drinks for the adults. The hotdogs were amazingly good. Definitely coming back next year.

Overall the trip was excellent, the only negative would be the banquet coffee. It was terrible. I'm pretty sure it is made from a syrup concentrate and not actually brewed.

This place is absolutely fantastic! The pools, restaurants, activities, everything you might want to enjoy yourself. Even if you don't like golf, there is plenty to do (massages, hike, margaritas and guacamole classes). It's wonderful!

Beautiful location! Spacious rooms, friendly staff. Lots of pool choices! Shopping and restaurants. The beds in the standard queen room are not as big as a normal queen, but are comfortable.

Just attended a conference there. Conference room WiFi was password protected. Very annoying. I think given that everyone in the room is there for the conference, there is no need for a password. Time to realize that WiFi is an expected utility, light lights and AC.

Had an amazing time. Anything you want, you get. It's great to see the mountains off in the distance around us. So many pools to choose from and barely anyone in them. It doesn't feel crowded at all.

Rooms and guest services were top notch! We also are at Bourbon Steak. Amazing 4 star service and great food!

It is beautiful resort with great amenities. I recommend for families.

Mom of 3....Our stay at the Princess was a Major Bust. Would not care to Ever go back. Would not want to stay another night at the Princess. Staff is nice, but they are paid to be. All in All....Way Overated!!
VIP, Fast Lane....what a Joke! Ice skate pass, wasted, unable to use. Train ride, not running....and a Fee for Everything. ~Christmas at the Princess~ Waste of our money!
Example: Room Service, Just for 2 pieces of burnt toast, $5+++ $5 To Deliver, Plus 22% gratuity of the top, and an Hour wait.
To leave, it took 20plus Minutes waiting to even get our car. I was not the one complaining either. But Several people were!!! I Could have gotten my own car, a lot faster, but they wont give you your keys. Then they want to be tipped. Please. Honestly I could go on.

We stayed one night for our anniversary. The hotel upgraded our room and gave us complimentary desserts. The staff was friendly and kind. I would love to go back.

Beautiful resort. The food was great, especially the burger in American Kitchen. Wow! Could eat that every day.
Service around the pools could be improved. Many times had to track down server to order or go to bar to order myself.

First let me start by saying how much we love this resort and have many cherished memories from years prior. Unfortunately, our 2020 experience is not one that we will cherish.

This Father s Day weekend experience was not at all what we expected. We re we staying at the same place??? The service has not been great. We waited 45 minutes to get service to order a drink at the bar, we were completely ignored! Called the front desk several times with no answer.

Service in general was not 5 star (with exception to the steak house, we would give them 10 stars! Service and food were amazing, as usual!)

There has been a dirty pool towel on the same bench for the entire three days of our stay (but the resorts state they are doing additional cleaning/sanitizing for COVID). Trash on the grounds, including a Starbucks cup that we watched an employee just step over it instead of pick it up. Pathways are overgrown with plants which whiplash your child if you have a stroller or if you re in a wheelchair. There was some hose thing that was pulled out of the pond and just has been laying on the grass... Pools are packed and there is no social distancing in the pools. We have only seen 2 hand sanitizer stations on the entire property (there are others but they say employee sanitizing station - for employees only or something like that.

We expected things to be different visiting this 2020, but did not expect the energy of the resort to feel so disconnected. We miss the old great service and hope next year we have a better visit (should we book here again) and our experience was just a fluke.

Amazing dinner at bourbon steak. Strawberry Creek cocktail was sublime. @chefmichaelmina is brilliant! Wedge salad was inspired. Blistered shishito peppers, steak with chimichurri sauce, kimchi fried rice. The cheesecake with brown butter ice cream was devine.

My wife an I stayed there 25 years ago and enjoyed that stay and the recent stay at the Fairmont Princess.

Love Princess but it's gone down last few years....maintaince....elegance....keeping updated....service.

Really nice large rooms, even the basic ones. We went for the Christmas activities. Those are great, especially for little ones but grown ups will have fun too. Expensive but we found a good deal that included a dining and activity credit that covered a lot of those extra costs.
