Beautifull garten area, hotel feels a bit aged, and rooms do look nice but are missing details you would expect from 5* hotel.
Good service, and I felt very welcome. The rooms must be brought to 21st century yet.

Dark and gloomy.

Dark and gloomy.

At the arrival on Christmas Day Sara the receptionist was cold and official, serving us while still sitting on her stool. When we asked for some welcoming drinks for us and kids, standard for any hotel that we had been in around the world, we were told to nearby bar to get ourselves. Seriously awful..

Then when we ask for indoor pool we were told it's closed as for holidays. Next day she gave us wrong time so we couldn't used it either.

You can only use pool within window of 1 h twice per day.

One more thing..if you afraid of hights as I m don't go there
14 store indoor hight without safety net there. Wow.
I panicked every time kids open the door to go out.

On the good side.

All other staff that we came across was super polite and helpful. All expect Sara who definitely should retake hospitality test

Rooms are lovely and clean.

We loved food served in hotel. Very tasty.

Our children were having great time with all staff who were wonderful with them.

Barcelona is also great.

Fairmont Joan Carles I Hotel on the Diagonal at the exit / entrance of the Catalan capital. Very professional and personal service. It currently corresponds to the Canadian chain of the same name that has establishments in countless countries. Very good detail of the heart addressed to the people of Barcelona.

Great end of year party of the company that celebrated him there. The food of the catering was very rich and perfect management of the guests. A hotel that corresponds to its 5 * in this sense to celebrate parties.

Amazing stay. Unbeatable customer service. And oh the bed. I couldnt get out of bed, it was sooooooo comfortable. The staff reception and concierge win best team customer service award 2019. Its official.

I am a Platinum member, having transitioned from the Fairmont Presidents Club. This was my second stay at the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos and it fell very very short of my hopes.

Some backstory: my first stay was in 2017 and the experience was phenomenal, with thoughtful service from a lovely duty manager, a personal welcome to my room, upgrade, and a delicious welcome amenity in the form of wine and the best local olives and cheese I've ever had. At the time the hotel was just beginning to integrate into Accor but the high Fairmont standard of service I loved was very much on display. The treatment was so lovely that I swore I'd come back again, despite the fact that it's a bit further away from the centre of Barcelona.

This visit in comparison was disappointing, if not upsetting. Beyond a very basic upgrade to a slightly larger room with somewhat dirty windows, my status loyalty benefits were not honored (i.e. not even the basic welcome drink voucher for loyalty members and no Platinum welcome gift), and I felt too embarrassed to ask because I don't like to come off as entitled.

But the real kicker for me was what I felt was poor front desk service. My check-in experience at the priority desk was a mess, with the agent answering a phone in the middle of my check-in and making me wait a full 5 minutes until that call finished. I felt that this was unprofessional and that she could have either placed the caller on hold or referred me to another colleague. When she did return to checking me in, it was very transactional and little attempt was made to get to know me better or make me feel truly welcome. In contrast to my previous stay, I didn't really detect much hospitality, joy, or eagerness to please from the staff, and this worries me that management may have turned for the worse. I also found the concierge to be a bit gruff when I asked him for some minor help.

Another major pain point for me was the fact that front desk staff appeared to be surprised and mildly uncomfortable with the fact I was checking in with my same-sex partner on our holiday. I also noticed this during my checkout process, when another staff member seemed to express surprise that we were checking out together from the same room. The exchanges overall felt awkward, and I think maybe this is because staff haven't been given ample training when it comes to asking the right, respectful questions for diverse clients.

I know the summer season must be exhausting, but I hope the team will take my feedback seriously and do some reflection. But this stay was really upsetting. Though I recommended this hotel to many other friends before, I feel I cannot recommend it anymore unless things improve.

A 5 stars; (

A 5 stars; (
It is true that the rooms are sumptuous and the bathrooms also
The quality of the bedding is top
However it is worth noting a lot of forbidden including the swimming pool for adults only
We can notice at the pool cocktails for 100 and have a table and 80 for two glasses of champagne and skewers of fruit all ready type mercadona
A. Note old and broken loungers of used carpet in some places that do not work
Extremely expensive breakfast not included with the room 29
In short this hotel is only a 5 star for the options that are extremely expensive!
If you are billionaire like to get scammed go for it

Incredible very attentive the waiter very quiet place and an atmosphere that invites you to want to return. The prices are not bad being of the category that is and the amounts just to finish well served.

Very clean and spacious family room which is standard for a 5 star hotel. Amenities like gym, pool, sauna are free which is a bonus but never try to use their in house phone! My wife got pickpocketed and out of desperation to ring our card providers to cancel the debit and credit card. We rang using their phone - I can t believed they charge us 58 Euros for a less than 5 mins phone call.
All in all the service was great

The The day I came , the reception told me that he couldn't find the reservation with my name. Because the registration the system registered another name with my membership!
Then the reception tells me it's entirely booked, can't give me upgraded. Disappoint about this hotel from the beginning. Rude and bad service. Maybe they're inherited this facts from the King of Spain?!
This morning I'm in breakfast, I found a mosquito on top of watermelon, super gross. Such dirty unhygienic hotel!
The manager had good way to hold all situation, she is definitely are capability smart women!

For your information.

For your information.
We were two kids and one adult. Both kids above 13.

The first problem:
You do not have access to the indoor pool, if you are under 18.

Second problem:
The service is terrible. Our was being cleaned so we had to find a place to wait. We weren't allowed to wait at the restaurant. We couldn't wait at the pool. We had to sit on the floor for 40 minutes while waiting. A security guard was looking at us most of the time with a hostile look in his eyes.

Third problem:
This is not really the hotels fault, but there are almost no good supermarkets or restaurants nearby. You have to take a cab for 30 minutes to reach the main part of the town, it costs roughly around 16 euro.

10/10 would not book here again.

Very nice hotel, located 2 steps from Camp Nou, outside the city but very close at the same time by public transport. An outdoor pool for all the family with the possibility of eating a good meal without having to go back to the hotel and another only for the "big ones", so children refrain. By cons on arrival, we had to wait 1:45 before having our room ... It makes lose a star, against the view of Barcelona from the 11th, top

Great if you get a refurbished room- not so good if not. It's like your grandparent's house after the have passed away, only the faint smell of urine is missing. Faded grandeur where the carpets are so threadbare it's best to put a towel down at night to protect your feet from the sharp hessian strands, and re-call a grander more extravagant past. As you sit in the magnolia walls with ancient bath fittings you wonder what it could be with a bit of love and attention. You wonder who thinks that 1950s facilities still command 5 star ratings in the 21st century. Miss Haversham would feel at home here- just bring your own cobwebs.Magnificent building and great staff. Alternatively bring Dr Jekyll- he would live in the super trendy half and as for Mr Hyde , he would be in the Victorian wing maybe electrocuting the bathers with the ancient wiring.

For our last night in Barcelona, we decided on the fairmont. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, the spa area was good. We were very satisfied with the breakfast.

Beautiful hotel, with excellent service. Buffet breakfast was delicious. The pools and gardens are beautiful. The room we stayed in was very spacious and spotless. The lobby area is quite big and very nice.

I went to work at a wedding at the hotel and I think it's a joke about the food they gave us. I had never eaten as badly as a worker and I don't think it's normal for a luxury hotel to give food in a box. My boyfriends would have felt terrible to see their photographer eat a snack at their wedding. I find it degrading. I understand that it is a staff menu, but there are ways and ways to present it. And even as a staff menu it seems like a tacky one.

I can not deny that the hotel is spectacular, all luxury and glamor, the great attention, the only drawback is that it is only suitable for high or very high class pockets, not for the so-called middle class, who owe us once a year to our beloved and beloved Ministry of Finance.

This hotel is the hidden gem of Barcelona. It has a huge garden with pind and swan, a park to itself. The lobby ceiling goes as high as the entire hotel ginving it open space feeling. The staff are courteous and helpful.

I really liked this place. Here's why.

I really liked this place. Here's why.

Pros:

-Big rooms
-many amenities
-much sun light from the ample window in your room
-good breakfast but not great
-beautiful lobby, massive is the correct adjective.
-very kind guest services, very thorough answering your questions, in good good English.
-beautiful outside parking with ancient olive trees. Signature trees of Spain and Mediterranean heritage.
-tennis courts downstairs opposite the entrance

-4 minute walk to the metro station, very well connected to the city center. However at night you'll need a taxi. Metro stops at 12 if I'm not mistaken.
-The room is well decorated and feels close to premium.
-great gym and swimming pool.

Cons:

-beds are too firm
-sometimes two beds are put together so you don't get the king-size in every room. For someone it might not be okay.
-you can hear things from the next room, the walls are thin.
-The shower was broken and needs a lot of Maintainance, slow flow of water forces you to stick to the cold wall cause it's the only way to rinse your body. You cannot direct the flow cause the shower head is fixed and doesn't move.
-The shampoo, body gel, conditioner have a very strong scent and a consistency that doesn't wash off. It's a very big pain. Couldn't use it so I had to buy mine.

Overall a good hotel, I do recommend it.

The hotel opens its new space The Terrace, an oasis within the city with food of the highest quality.

The Terrace proposes an offer for all hours of the day: a vermouth and tasty appetizers; lunches and dinners, afterwork, cocktails after dinner ... all under a lovely ivy pergola overlooking the garden and the pool.

The hotel with elegant territory, there is a pond with a swan. There is a spa center, small but cozy. You can order different treatments, massage. Near the congress center. The hotel is convenient for business trips, business trips. It is not in the tourist area.

Super nice 5 star hotel , large and nice room, good breakfast , nice view from room , beautiful pond in the garden with white swan, super helpful staff Anna in front desk , definitely will recommend friends to come here , will come back soon.

The hotel is wonderful. Very modern, beautiful design. There's huge gym, outdoor pools and bar/restaurant, indoor pool. The breakfast place is superb. Make sure to book your breakfast, it's worth it. The only disappointment was that to use the steam and sauna guests need to pay 25/person, day. Other than that, everything is super nice.
Zona Universitaria metro station is very near as well, just few minutes walk.
Another thing is when we ordered room service ... The waiter offered us how we could tip him, which I find inappropriate. In a 5* property, this is quite embarrassing.
All and all I'm satisfied with the experience at Fairmont Barcelona.

Elegant 5-star hotel, at least 10 floors of luxurious rooms, swimming pool, garden, bar restaurants and every possible service is guaranteed. Sumptuous the hall, which has a very high ceiling and view of the 10 floors of rooms on which the corridors overlook

Very good (and very expensive) hotel but quite noisy. There was music in the hall until late in the night.
Hotel is quite far from the center of the city but there is a metro station near.
I was here for a conference and the organisation was good.
