It's an old hotel, but how they kept it at a 5-star level all these years amazes me. You can tell by the lack of sockets and the noticeable locks on the doors.

The rooms, the toilets, the breakfast buffet, the grand lobby, there was a conference there while I was staying. Everything was just splendid. Couldn't find much to complain about. Maybe the price? but of course, you get what you paid for, it's just super deluxe. And even living on a lower floor, I could still feel special and majestic. A must stay~! (If you have the spare change)

We spent 2 family days in Barcelona, and stayed at this wonderful hotel. I put a point of honor on the staff who are indeed very very welcoming, always attentive, listening to us, a kind word to our little one, in short no complaints. All the services are perfect.

My son and his partner were staying in a suitte. One of the days was their birthday and we brought a cupcake to celebrate with them. They called reception to bring them some plates to share the cake since there are none in the suite. He called 3 times during 2 hours and nobody came. So we decided to go down to the terrace of the restaurant to have a drink and to blow out the candles. Our surprise was when when we asked for some plates to be delivered for the cake, they told us that it was not possible. Much luxury and a shameful treatment, they charge you 5 for a coffee and they do not provide you with plates with spoons ???

We booked spa and massage through Groupalia, we called the hotel and they confirmed the time for March 5

On Saturday morning the hotel calls us and informs us that they do not accept Groupalia vouchers. If we want to go, we must pay again. We do not understand how they confirm us first and then a few hours before they cancel us. Really a lousy professionalism and no seriousness. We feel cheated and if they behave like this in something so simple, you have no doubt that it will be the same in the rest of the services ...

Clean, room specious, location a bit away from the centre, but it has good transport around. Staff is ok, but they need to give more info about hotel facilities as they just inform us about room upgrade and breakfast. I had good nights sleep. Beds are good. They need to have machine for coffee as most of 5 star hotels stop serving instant coffee. Their toiletries are good. Furnitures are ok, but they need to pay attention for the worn ones. Decorations and designs are ver good. Overall, I will stay again if I decided to come again to Barcelona

The pool at the Rey Juan Carlos I Hotel is for those who want to stay in the city, while indulging in a little luxury. You can have a barbeque at the pool bar or dive into the waters and imagine that you are in paradise where you have all the time in the world (25 ).

Magnificent hotel, with all the 5 stars lit and maybe some more, very hospitable, at first glance from the outside, it doesn't seem so luxurious, but when you enter the hall things change you don't believe your eyes. Staff always available, qualified and multilingual.

Nice hotel, great cocktails! Nice staff. Downsides: because of the open design, it can be quite noisy, unless you have an extra door in your room to close off the noise coming from the lobby. Secondly: it's relatively far away from the city centre.

I was only visiting and you see a very good hotel but they almost kicked me out there was a soccer team and I do not know if I have consumed and I spent 12 or so I almost kicked out when I am an educated person and respective and x that only I give 3 stars pk you have to have education.

Very poor meeting facilities. Look great on the surface but: freezing cold rooms; poor lighting controls; poor A/V equipment; and terrible sound proofing between rooms. No natural daylight.

Accomodations were decent - it is cool to overlook the equestrian field - but there really isn't anything around the location. If you go there for an event at the hotel it is fine, otherwise there are better options more centrally located to the downtown area.

Great hotel that meets everything. Room was very neat and completely fine. Everything is kept clean and works well. Staff is friendly, polite and helpful.
Rooms can be connected through interconnecting doors, which is great if you are with children.

This place was amazing! Very modern and clean. I enjoyed my stay here. But it is more of a place where you go to get away from the city. We came from out of country, and overseas to view Barcelona and this was quite far from the city. Except! We figured out a way. Twenty minutes away there is a bus stop for the Barcelona tour bus. We got two day passes and used the bus to get around everywhere for the day. So I rather enjoyed it here after all. It is not close to any food places really. We walked fifteen minutes to get food and the options were rather sparse. So like I said, it is a nice hotel to book if you want to get away from it all.

The hotel's lobby is very appealing, and fashionable... but the rooms are worn out, dated, bad.
I know renovations are taking place at the highest floors, but the current rooms are just old, and the paid price is too high for the quality of the room.
It would have been better if the price was more congruent with the quality of the room.

In general, it was never a pleasure to remain in my room:
wifi was very low (room 519), and I couldn't see any movie on my iPad
the gym is not in the building, and not open 24/7 (so I missed it several days, as it was raining in Barcelona, I didn't want to go out to reach the gym).

On the other hand, staff is very friendly, helpful, and with many attentions to the customer (Mr Gentile, Mrs Ferrera, and the maid at 5th floor).

On of the worst experiences. This is a glorified 2 star hotel. The bathrooms are awful and are like the bathrooms in a cruise ship. The staff is no where to be seen and even the location is way away from all the tourist places. I would not recommend this hotel to any tourist as it has nothing to offer .

We hired a bonus for three (my daughters and I), we arrived late for the massage and that was our fault, but first they asked us to do the remaining 5 minutes of our time, and then the masseurs (Jenny, Pilar and Ruth) can see that They had planned to rest for half an hour and were not happy to stand for 5 minutes. They treated us badly, they spoke badly to me, they made me 3 minutes reluctantly, and my daughters put a towel on their heads 3 of the 5 minutes we had. But above all, I felt abused unnecessarily, because they do not cause them any harm, on the contrary, 25 minutes of rest. We who lost 3 massages after being paid, we do not disrespect them, and they, on the other hand, being "the client" showed little education.
I asked for a claim form and the receptionist could not find it, but he gave me an e-mail address to address the boss, and I NEVER ANSWERED ME. I feel doubly mistreated.

OMG BEST HOTEL EVER WE STAYED THERE LIKE FOR 2 DAYS I FELT THAT I HAVE BEEN THERE FOR ALMOST A WEEK AND THEY HAVE ONE OF THE MOST KINDEST STAFF AND THE ROOM SERVICE AND THE RESTAURANT ARE UNBELIEVABLE AND THE ATMOSPHERE LIKE THERE IS AMAZING I CANT DESCRIBE HOW GOOD IT IS ANYMORE BUT I SUGGEST TO EVERYONE TO GO AND CHECK IT OUT

Very good facilities, but the best is the treatment received by the staff. I got sick and they worried about finding me a pharmacy on call and allowed me to stay a few more hours in the hotel until I could recover. Also, they called my room throughout the day to see if I needed anything else.

The place is incredible inside that great Hall that unites all the areas is spectacular, we attend an event in the convention rooms and everything is correct, very well organized so as not to inconvenience the guests, the delicious food
