Staff are not polite.
Service is not value for you money.
Far away from city center.
It is only big & expensive. You can find much better food, rooms, drinks & services in other small hotels in city

Our stay at the Fairmont was perfect. The place is just beautiful, the hotel has an incredible architecture the rooms are perfect and the personal of the establishment are of an exemplary kindness that it is for the reservation, the reception the personal of the bar (b.24) Or the spa ... I highly recommend this hotel and we will be happy to return for our next stay in Barcelona without hesitation. A big thank you to DORIANE BREGIER for professionalism of taking into account our reservation and our requests during our stay.

In early May, too early for the swimming pool which is also closed. Hotel a little out of the center of Barcelona and the ramblas. Very impressive hall due to its height. Room ok but I have known better in 5 stars. But the price is more than correct

The Fairmont hotel is located in the University Zone. To get there you can use the metro L3, the tram or buses. It is a 5 * hotel of large dimensions that leaves you with your mouth open when you first enter.
The gastronomic offer seems very expensive for the portions that serve you and the service I frame it as attentive and efficient (5 waiters to serve 15-20 people and we were 10 minutes waiting for the bill).
Music too loud even after 00:00.

Disappointing food. They have one of the best terraces with garden and swimming pool in the city of Barcelona for outdoor events. We were at a wedding banquet, really disappointing. The food was not up to par, not because it was mostly for vegetarians, the outdoor pica-pica did not meet the expectations we had arranged on it (although French champagne was served) and the main course a fish without substance; the wedding cake was excessively cloying and almost all the guests left it on the plate. They were not up to their stars and glamor. It was a want and I can't.

This was a very important trip for me and my wife traveling after 2 years of hard work. We did not wanted to mess the holiday to Barcelona so choose and trusted my ex Hotel where I worked, thinking tjat the service will be as good but unfortunately was disappointed and I think I will never consider Fairmont again.
1.As much as I was upgraded for 1 night I believe this should not be an excuse to just offer any type of service. We came back late first night and my baby got sick, thought that will return to a room well cleaned because we are staying in a Fairmont hotel, to our surprise room was dirty, called the guest service and they sent someone to clean and ensured that every night there will be a turndown service, not the case! The third noght came back so tired at night again to dirty room. Had to hold my baby in hand as he was sleeping while housekeeping was called to make the room. Did not expect this from a Fairmont hotel, I had convinced my wife that service we can rely on, well no! We accepted to stay far from the city not to compromise on service. . If a Fairmont is not able to deliver who will???
2. Second they authorized my credit card without any notice amd wgen asked they said we are just taking authorization. Duty manager apologized but again, how can a hotel authorize a credit card without notice. We were nearly blocking our card thinking it was an illegal transaction..

3. Our baby was sick we went to the hospital, I informed the front desk and they said the duty mamager Ismael will call but not at any moment had anyone asked if we managed well and if baby was better.

4. We had to book a tour and we had called the tour company which was provided by the concierge through a brochure. We were out of the hotel and called the concierge 3 times for them to respond, I simply asked him to give me the number in the brochure, and he refused even after confirming my name and room number, he said I should book through the concierge and he cannot give me the number. The phone was disconnected and I didn t even got a call back on the matter.

I am a hotelier and been in hospitality for 12 years, I believe there is always a way to recover mishaps.. but in all these cases the effort was not undertaken, thus the reason for a 2 Star. I could not give 3 because we stayed in a 3 Star hotel in Lisbon before coming to Barcelona and the service and attention to detail was surprisingly better.

I stayed for 4 days and found a wonderful welcome.
Always available to satisfy every request and adorable with my little girl, they filled her with attention and care. Always impeccable rooms and super breakfasts. Really a 5 star hotel. I recommend it to everybody.

5.50 a regular coffee with milk? When this nonsense of price is reached, the architecture of the hall is not enough to positively assess the place.
Location of the hotel far from the center.
Suitable for events.

Breathtaking hotel - luxurious comfort and an amaz...

Breathtaking hotel - luxurious comfort and an amazing experiencing being cared for by the team at Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos.

Checked in after midnight and staff were friendly and helpful in getting me settled. Getting my bag wrap removed from my bags and making sure I am comfortable for the evening. Amazing views and great location.

Rooms have absolutely everything you could need, slippers, gowns, toothbrush, etc and you can call down for complimentary items you may have forgotten.

Taxi's are usually on site so never a long wait to get around the city.

Probably one of the best hotels you can stay in Barcelona. Luxury all around the place, with a concierge when you arrive and a very nice stuff. There is a bar at the entrance and a garden, a pool and conference room really big. I totally recommend this place.

Nice hotel generally but but the room was not great.
There was a leak coming from the fire sprinkler. We had to put the garbage can under it. We notified the staff but we were not able to change rooms. Also the toilet was not secure to the floor and the shower drain was slow enough that you could not run the water for more than a couple of minutes before it would overflow onto the floor. Staff is always sympathetic but unable to fix anything. The rest of the hotel and staff were very nice.

The hotel is simply glorious - the decor is sumptuous, the service is impeccable and the ambiance is comforting.
The only downside of the hotel is its location. It s really too bad it s not more centrally located.

Very noble ambience with an impressive lobby. Our room was on the 7th floor, unfortunately the windows dirty so the view of Barcelona is unfortunately clouded. Great pool's, pity that they close at 18:00.

Very disappointed in general ..... the staff do no...

Very disappointed in general ..... the staff do not speak french, weird for a five star ...; the rooms can not be ventilated so smell not nice. Installed at the bar in front of the pool we are not asked what we want to drink, but we are offered chicha ??? do not take your shirts at the spa because it is forbidden (all naked) women and men separated so it limits for families and non nudists. You have understood overall disappointed. Positive point bedding. ah yes and more during the interminable check out .... we were charged amounts not in conformity..No reception is able to inform us in French (on the phone) .... I recommend, very disappointed .. being used to 5 * hotels in Spain I have never seen that!

They definitely make you feel like a royalty. Everything, from the check in to the late checkout we requested, was answered with a smile. Spectacular room with a view to the Camp Nou.

Fantastic 5 stars breakfast with good options for my vegan wife.

Top notch room service, the burger was delicious.

The pancake & churros at breakfast could have been more fresh. I know I'm nitpicking, but that's the only thing I can think of.

The location of the hotel is not so centric, but this is Barcelona, anything is with-in reach by Metro.

Extremely expensive and elitist ... but it seems that people like paying more to distinguish their "status."
I find it nefacious, that a country that still suffers so much poverty, I have a ditch so broad at social and economic level. I agree to establish services and prices that give a "plus" to differentiation and effort. What I find above all is the huge "gap" created specifically to move away certain social groups from reality and human solidarity, from the people who strive every day to move forward the family and society ... In genetal (and therefore, the elites are also included).
