We looked to get away to the Blue Mountains for a couple of days. We chose the Fairmont Resort and weren't disappointed. The room was clean and spacious enough for our family of 4, we enjoyed a delicious meal at Embers restaurant, and the staff were very friendly.

Fantastic location, beautiful spot. Plenty of amenities and things to see and do around abouts. Resort is nice starting to look a little tired here and there. I m hoping they will eventually renovate where they need too in the near future seeing this is the third time I ve stayed.

The Fairmont in Leura is a wonderfully located hotel overlooking the Jamison Valley in the Blue Mountains National Park. Currently undergoing upgrades, will soon or even more services for visiting families. For couples, a lovely dinner in Embers Restaurant & Bar is the perfect way to end the day.

The website and activities described there were all great but we were disapointed to find that there were several age restrictions for activities such as the train ride and pony ride that were not clear to us and my 2 year old couldn't part-take. Not the resort's fault, but it would've been better to be aware of this before we got there. The kids playground and gym equipment is a nice touch but needs to be a bit more sanitary in our opinion.

Stayed a week here during winter this year for our anniversary. Stunning views as you enter the lobby, and the excellent heating was definitely appreciated! The food was also excellent, although the staff did somehow lose our reservation one evening. They were very apologetic, however, were unable to fit us in, so we had to go out for dinner.

The hotel was nice and some elements were very good, however others were outdated and disappointing. There was a definite lack of attention to detail on several occasions. As it was my birthday, when we arrived in the room, there was a cheese platter and a bottle of wine, which was very much appreciated. However, the card was written to a Daniel. I called reception to ensure we were in the correct room, which we were. The crackers with the cheese were really stale and awful. We were sent a bottle of sparkling after we called about the name on the card and mentioned the stale crackers to the staff member expecting him to return with fresh crackers, which didn't ever arrive.
We also called for a booking for dinner and were on hold for several minutes after being put through to the restaurant. We went down to the restaurant, and weren't acknowledged for several minutes. The Embers pricing is expensive, the steak was $42.
The fact that internet is NOT free is extremely antiquated and $34.95 for movies is extreme. These policies were in 10-15 years ago, when these services were not readily available.
The hotel needs a new fit out or at least to be refreshed, particularly the rooms and the corridor to the wings with the furniture and fixtures being dated.

Besides having the luxury of a full day of fun-filled, highly organised, stress free activities for my three children, the staff are extremely pleasant, I did not want to leave. There was Michael from concierge (although I get the feeling he helps everywhere and everyone in need), who I have to thank truly. I have never met a more honest, hard working and giving person. I honestly wish him only the best. And then there was the lovely Jane who ran many of the kids activities, and the very sweet Nikki who always made sure to say hello, every time we walked in and out of the hotel. To everyone else, including the chef at Mini Masterchef (how cool right???), thank you, and I apologise I couldn't remember everyones names. The food was actually delicious, and even if you didn't plan a thing, just walking through the beautiful resort was enough. The absolute perfect combination of serenity and excitement, for all ages! Thank you

Stayed here with my partner new year's ,and ordered a 39$ chicken burger and chips very very far from the menue description ! Could not eat the half cooked chips plus the gristle fatty thigh fillet that was slapped on it ! Signage was hopeless to find things around the hotel! Under skilled staff . Take a few stars off your rating ! Unless you want a playground for children do not go here

The room was great, view was nice and location is amazing. However it really lacks any sort of charm or specialness.

I came here as a kid with my family and thought it would be a great place to take a partner. There was no porter, we felt judged for asking about the free wifi.there was no pizzazz, energy or care from the staff. This is probably top down however as everyone is pleasant.

There was one member of staff who did embody a level of magic and energy who we ran into on two encounters - he really cared and loved the place, made us very happy to be there.

Embers restaurant can make some great cocktails! However, starting off with large hair in you entree really makes you unable to really enjoy yourself. Plus the service was rather poor.

Adding multiple amenities such as the new ice rink is great fodder for marketing. But just because you have many things doesn t mean they are done well.

A place like the Fairmont in the blue mountains really ought to make you feel special. It just doesn t (aside from that one member of staff -deserves a pay rise).

Had a great time! Superbly presented and equally tasty Australian fair. We enjoyed the scallops, sirloin, and spinner crab risotto. Top it off with a great wine list and prompt and professional service - very worth it.

Its in the Blue Mountains! If there were more than one pet friendly room we would have extended our last stay. I have been lucky to enjoy the resort in this beautiful location on several occasions; the stay during Easter school holidays a couple of years ago with the kids was one of the best times, they had lots of activities, games available and the cinema was a huge plus.

The staff were exceptionally pleasant and polite bright and reactive in conversation.
However so very disappointed in the accomodation! So much so that we checked out the night we checked in Rooms were dusty, mould, chipped paint on walls, we could hear next door guest chatting, linen reeked as if not washed properly. Although large and spacious, we felt very claustrophobic The bed was hard as rock (everyone knows hotel beds are the best) also nothing to drink in mini bar. Bathroom dirty and doors to bathroom did not close for full privacy.
If you already live a luxurious life this is not the place for you to stay.

I stayed here in late Feb 2020 for a family event at the Golf Club onsite. The reception area is lovely with amazing views. Unfortunately there was quite a line up to check in, and I was standing next to a very rude, impatient lady who was also waiting to check in. The reception staff member was friendly and welcoming. It was drizzling rain out, and we had to park quite far from reception.
The room I stayed in could definitely use a face lift, however it was spacious and comfortable, especially the bed.
I would stay here again if I could stay Ina refurbished room. Also, I had accidentally booked the wrong night and I was really appreciative when the hotel allowed me to change the booking to the correct night.

The resort has come back to its former glory during the past 4 years. The service is great, friendly but professional staff, variety of foods. As a dietician and vegan I love inspecting the Xmas buffet lunch before its invaded and it is fresh and excellent value for money. I am returning again in December and highly recommend for everyone!
They have one dog room at the moment so I always take my little show toy poodle Shogun. It is such a joy to be legally allowed to take your dog on holidays there.

We came up for our first year anniversary, really ...

We came up for our first year anniversary, really looking forward to a romantic escape in the mountains. The web page suggested this was a great place, headed by a video of a couple doing exactly what we were aiming for. Unfortunately, we were victims of marketing.

After a night, we decided to cancel the rest of the weekend. It was far from what was presented on the website.

Completely disappointing room for the price. We took a superior king, which promised views of The Valley or the grounds - it had neither. The bathroom was cramped and old, the furniture had tears and stains and it wasn t particularly clean. It really felt like in a motel, just four times more expensive.

We found hairs in the towels, a dirty toilet and a hairdryer full of cream and fingerprints from the previous person who used it, which in times of covid is a massive no-no.

We also understood that we had booked into the pictured restaurant for our romantic anniversary dinner but instead we were taken through to a pub-like area with horrid electro music and bright lights. Definitely not what we had in mind for our romantic getaway.

I would like to say that the service improved after the unhelpful first person that we spoke to, they rest were understanding and accommodating, helping us through and facilitating the cancellation.

Ubika Spa is 10 out of 10. My therapist Eleasha has the most gentle smooth hands yet firm and strong! The hotel is a bit out dated furniture wise but the structure of the hotel is incredible. Scenic Outdoors. Very average breakfast. I would NOT recommend Leura Gold Club as the customer service was horrendous.

So, good and bad to report on this place. First the bad: we arrived to find a very subpar room, I won't get into details but let's just say it wasn't what we expected. Overall the resort is a little bit tired, however, they are in the process of sprucing the place up and many parts of the resort are in great shape.

We politely complained to the front desk. This is where the good part comes in. Stephanie at the front desk was amazing. She is a pro and handled my complaint in such a professional manner. She must have had amazing customer service training or she is just naturally gifted at dealing with people, I suspect a bit of both.

The best part of this resort is the staff, everyone we have dealt with has been amazing. We dealt with two people at concierge, I wish I could remember their names. They were both awesome. Our waitress at Embers was awesome and so was the food. The facilities are great, lots to do for the kids.

I would give it 4.5 stars if it would let me and I suspect that this place will be close to 5 star when they are finished with the refurbishment.

Staying at Fairmont resort in Blue Mt NSW. Situated in Leura. This is such a beautiful place surrounded by the rock cliffs of the blue mountains. Short walks available from the resort.

Unfortunately, kids area were closed due to covid. Seems like theres tone of activities todo with kids normally.

Service was impeccable. They sure know how to treat their loyal accor customers!

Overall, 10/10 stay. Would definitely come back again.

We had our daughters wedding here so decided to stay for 2 nights, the 1st so that the groom had somewhere to dress and the 2nd for us. whilst the rooms are nice the pillows are way too soft and the rooms definitely not sound proof, it was like we had our next door neighbours in our room at 420 am it was so noisy so consequently we were up and out by 630 am to go home exhausted.
The room was clean, staff were lovely but 2 bad night sleeps for us

Children were noisy, both crying at night and mornings.

It was really nice, very much directed at older people but I still had a good time. The dinner options if you don't want to eat animal products are non-existant and quite pricey but again I don't think cheap vegans are the target audience. The pools, spa and sauna were nice and clean. The surrounding area is also really great for hiking. I did experience some interesting not so positive interactions with other guests, but that's not the hotels fault. If you're old, rich, you think expensive meat is a good time and you have a sense of high self worth, this is the place your you.

Very disappointed. As an accor plus member we were expecting to receive a 50 percent discount on our food, we were informed that we would be only entitled to 10 percent discount. We have eaten here several times before and never has a problem. There needs to be consistency set there is nothing more frustrating than tacking my 3 young sleeping children from the car to be refused the normal rate

The air conditioning was terrible and we couldn't get enough air for from the window, which had no screen. The bed was hard and the rug was dirty. The gym was a disaster and the elevators broke while we were there. They labeled them as having routine maintenance when truthfully it trapped someone on them. The food wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't terrible. Also, they gave us a hassle about a late check-out when we had a spa appointment right in the middle of check out. It definitely needs an all around upgrade as much of it is outdated and getting dirty looking. Luckily I got block room pricing because the event I was at otherwise I would have never spent that kind of money to stay there.

Lovely resort more family oriented but that's probably due to the summer holidays. Pools are great. You really need a car to get around. The shuttle buses do limited pick ups usually at the start and end of day and taxis are about $20 to Katoomba. Breakfast is really good and the staff are lovely.

Amazing food and beverage experiences, facilities, concierge and kid friendly hotel. The only 2 things we can fault is we had to chase housekeeping at 4pm as our room still hadn't been serviced. The other thing is that although the front desk always seemed to have at least 3 staff, only 1 ever seemed to serve even when there was a line.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights with out 16 month old son. We could not fault the facilities and it was a great break for us. The only problem we encountered that really disappointed us was when it came to the restaurants. Not the quality of the food (this was excellent), but the service. We arrived a few hours before check-in and the staff were more than helpful in accommodating us before our room was ready. However, we were informed that all the on-site restaurants were fully booked for that evening. It would have been useful if the hotel had thought to alert us at the time of booking that dinner reservations in advance are highly recommended. This meant that the first night we had to order room service. On the second and third night we made sure we had an early reservation in The Embers restaurant. On both evenings there was a distinct lack of customer attention demonstrable from the waiting staff. Empty plates took longer to clear than they should and it was only upon repeated chasing of waiting staff that we got an answer to the whereabouts of our deserts on the third evening. After waiting for the deserts following that update (approx. 45 mins in total from ordering when there was only 3 or 4 tables in the restaurant) we decided enough was enough and headed for our room telling the staff we did not want them anymore. To their credit they did say they would get the deserts brought to our room, which they duly did. (I suspect this was more a case of they had partially made the deserts and didn't want them to go to waste, rather than for our benefit). All things considered I cannot fault the hotel, its facilities and the food. It is the dinner service waiting staff that I feel need to vastly improve. There appeared to be no supervision or direction being provided to them. It is something that can be easily corrected and I hope it will be.

As a final leaving reminder of the poor service. I had to ask the receptionist on check-out if I would have any means of feeding back the above to the hotel's management. She hadn't asked how our stay had been upon arrival at the desk and when I mentioned the above I was told that I would get an email survey request.

I think the dinner service waiting staff management and the reception management teams need to understand that it is the little touches that go a long way in the hospitality industry and no matter how great the facilities on offer are, it will always be the personal interactions with staff that will stick in customer's minds - good and bad.

The holiday was supposed to be about the Blue Mountains, and staying at the Fairmont definitely made that happen. Being able to walk out of the resort and straight into the National Park was great.
Our view from the room was amazing - I would definitely recommend room 402 if you want views and a balcony as well. The room itself was large and with a massive a-frame ceiling it felt even bigger. Bathroom was a little tired (they are currently doing a lot of updates to all the rooms), but functionally very good.
We dined at both Eucalypt and Embers, and enjoyed both, and the afternoon we spent sitting outside in the sun enjoying the view and eating a delicious satay prawn pizza from Embers was great!

We had a really easy stay at Fairmont over a winter weekend.
Starting with cocktails in the bar was a great idea as the quality of the cocktails was exceptional and exceeded our expectations.
Great spot to explore the Blue Mountains or plenty to do to relax at the resort.
