Pleasant stay at the Resort. Staff very helpful but restaurant experience was most disappointing and needs major improvement.
The hotel is overpriced and outdated. Customer service was tardy and when asking if we could enjoy an afternoon wine to enjoy the view from the restaurant area, was rudely told only if we were getting something to eat - there was only one TT able occupied. Very disappointing
Good hospitality. Friendly staff specially Josie in the reception, She was friendly and helpful.
It was nice but attention to detail would be good too. Black hairs on pillows and towels yuck
I had pre-booked and (thought I had) prepaid the stay at Fairmont using my Accor Plus free nights accommodation. I did this for both myself (room 413) and my friends (Zabaks) who stayed in room 449. We are both Accor Plus members. On checkout I was advised that because the original booking had not processed through the credit card payment due to the "free night" I would have to pay on exit. OK I accept that. When I booked the two rooms I was told the room charge for the Deluxe Room, 1 King Bed, Private Balcony was $316.08 for the paid night and $100 extra for the "free night" (total cost $416.08 per room) as this room type was above the normal "free rate". Again I accepted that, but on checkout I was charged an extra $100 per night for the room rather than just the single $100 amount as described to me during the original booking. So, in fact the stay cost both couples significantly more that we expected which led to quite a bit of disappointment. On checking online I could have booked the same room through a number of websites for $369.00 per night without being a Accor Plus member but I have been charged $416.08 per night. Very unhappy about the whole situation.
My room in 413 had a balcony that was dangerous to enter. The entire timber lattice structure across the top of the balcony was rotted and hanging down in a dangerous manner. We were not prepared to enter the balcony area as there were strong winds and we had fears the structure would collapse on us. This again added to the disappointment for the weekend. Overall we were dissatisfied and both couples will seriously reconsider re-joining Accor Plus when the new subscription comes up.
Footnote:
Following my review Fairmont Resort contacted me saying that the had reviewed the charges made and that an error had occurred. They have refunded the overcharge and advised that the lattice work on the balcony was a part of a complete facade update which is starting shortly.
Fairmont is a lovely old place with lots of activities and things for the whole family. While it could be upgraded in parts, and the food offerings could be better, overall it is a fantastic place to stay.
As a local living in Leura I and my wife visit the Fairmont regularly mainly to get a good coffee and desert as a treat the staff are friendly and polite and the surroundings are beautiful
The restaurant is excellent well worth a visit
Great venue for family holidays. So much for the kids to do, staff are really kind and helpful, lodgings are very comfy. Will come again.
Wonderful to see the investment in the Fairmont once again, the facilities are much better. School holidays it was so busy. We were disappointed at 8pm to find our room had still not been serviced from the day before...not ideal when your paying $350 a night!
It was a shame that the yoga (which we loved) had to be moved from the scenic room last minute to make way for a meeting. Fabulous you have yoga a little thing that matters around wellbeing...thank you.
Front desk was VERY good at there jobs. Professional, polite, and positive. The room was bigger than I expected, and well decorated. The bathroom floor was super dirty, though everything else was super clean. I suppose they (room attendants) were put into too much of a rush to remember everything. Food at Embers was okay, but higher priced than needed. When we first came in, no one came to sit us for awhile, so we sat ourselves. They did not know how to inform us that we needed reservations, so they fumbled through as rude as possible. Made us feel unwelcome. Though I supposed the hostess was new, or not well trained. A sign stating that we must wait to be seated, would have saved both of us. The male server was very good though, I could tell the difference between skill. After paying $300 for a room, to be made to feel unwanted was not a good thing. They told us we have an hour to eat, just we couldn't stay too long. Didn't want to have us around until the real guests arrived? How about a warning that it's a good idea to make reservations? The breakfast was amazing, servers great, worth every penny.
We decided to do a trip to the Blue Mountains and with the good reviews we decided to stay at the Fairmont for three nights. What a mistake. We arrived in our room to find the window locks were damaged. We reported them to management and after hearing nothing we tried to get them to seal a bit better by putting bits of cardboard in them. We had three very windy days and the wind continued to blast through the gaps despite this. Add to this the toilet would not flush properly, the power point in the bathroom was loose causing items to work intermittently and two false fire alarms (one at two in the morning). To cap it off we found the Embers Restaurant was overpriced, the Barramundi overcooked and the prawn pasta seemed to be missing the chilli. This place could be fantastic but it has a long way to go. By the way the cardboard was still in the window locks when we left.
Beautiful resort with nice views to blue mountain range all around
A big improvement from the last time we stayed there.Staffs are fantastic always ready to help you.Very friendly. We've watched a movie at the Auditorium & enjoyed it after a nice diner. The pianist choice of music was poor, not the sort of music you want to hear while having diner. On our way back the cops stopped me, when i asked why did you stopped me i was not speeding he told me on the contrary you are going too slow, probably he thought i was drunk so i had to explain to him that we've just spent the Weekend at the Fairmount Hotel & we had a very relax time he then apologised & sent us on our way.Thank you again, we'll do it again any time.Lise & Stellio Rivet
we were advised at check in that the indoor pool was out of order , after our disappointment, Manager on Duty Ithink it was David gave us $100 credit and breakfast for my daughters as well.
Immediately we felt special and our disappointment wained .we started to enjoy our stay looked past the indoor pool that was closed and concentrated on the good points of the hotel.
The walks in the garden, the view of the mountains, lovely breakfast ,clean ,comfortable room and the close proximity of the resort to the town and sights.
Our 2 night stay was very disappointing. The rooms were old and outdated, musty and not the level of cleanliness we would have expected for this price. The gym was closed, the indoor pool was crowded with public swimming lesson, the Ember restaurant was overpriced and our second meal was so bad neither of us could eat it..the staff were freindly and helpful which is why we didnt make a fuss as we felt the issues weren't their fault. This resort needs to either refurbish or put a bulldozer through it. I'll be telling anyone who asks to stay away. Feeling trapped in my room can't wait to get out in the morning.
Late check in, no room service and no restaurant at 2pm, we starved, didn't let us take the kid to lolly shop next to reception, everything is extremely old. Hate it
Nice place, great service, terrible food and the bar closed way too early.
I recently spent a couple days at the Fairmont, using their conference spaces to deliver some training. I also stayed a couple nights and the whole experience was wonderful :) When i arrived for day 1 of training I was greeted with an offer of hot water and lemon - why you ask?
The team remembered that this is what I had last time I was here (thank you Elena!). I checked the room set up and the AV team had gone above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed - there was even a phone charger which I've never been given before - talk about thinking ahead! It was also super easy for me to make contact with the team for anything i needed in the morning or throughout the day (mobile number on hand), which gave me comfort that that I was in good hands. Finally the food for our conference was an adventure in itself, a taste-sensation! There was always plenty to eat and a great selection of dishes for us to try. Big thank you to everyone involved in bringing this all together - your efforts were super appreciated :) PS the location is absolutely STUNNING! Another world out here and definitely worth considering!
Nice resort but rooms a little older and could do with a refresh
I was only briefly here to attend a work related function. The restaurant looked really nice and the view was stunning.
Everything was good except food... They didn't have much vegetarian food..
Overpriced for the quality of stay and disappointing that it did not live up to our expectations of a hotel of this standing. Save your money and find a decent B&B where you will get a hot shower, room cleaned before 5pm and a decent hot breakfast.
Staff and food were excellent , the rest not so much, typical of area over priced and under whelmed, the placed is tired and worn out, the parking is terrible and the whole experience was a total letdown! Never again
A family and kids friendly hotel
Highly recommended, wonderful staff and service.
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary and my husband's 75th birthday at Fairmont Resort 2 weeks ago. The girls at reception were so helpful. They upgraded us to a suite, which made us feel like royalty. The atmosphere, the restaurants, the swimming pools, the grounds etc. were all first class. We can highly recommend this resort. We will be back. Thank you.
Great venue. Visited for a corporate event, staff and facilities were top notch
Very professional staff, great sized rooms and wonderful views.
To truly indulge in the Blue Mountains you really need to spend some time in Leura! It is breathtaking! Very romantic or business orientated with the country charm that really welcomes you!
The views and service are impeccable here, the fireplace in the bar area is phenonimal. There are lots to do at the resort, golf, spa treatments, pool etc...
An absolute must to see and stay!
As usual, the staff were the stars during our stay. It is always a pleasure to be greeted by the welcoming staff at the reception and concierge desks. The experience continued with the housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff, all the way to departure.
Its the fourth time I stayed at Fairmont. This time for my fathers 70th birthday. Although the rooms are fine and facilities are great for kids, its luster is fading with the ridiculous prices of the buffet and the charges for the kids rides that used to be free when I first stayed at the resort. I also put my kids into kids club. In July the girls supervising kids club were engaged with the kids. This year it was a single young girl who did not engage with the kids and sat in her chair for three hours reading her phone - dreadful supervision of kids club at a cost of $25 per child. Its clear the place is now very short staffed - the waits for coffee are long and the staff appear overworked. The only stand out is Michael on concierge and rides - his upbeat spirit remind me of what the general staff used to be like a few years back. The place is heading south which is unfortunate.
Nice resort with great facility and close to the walking tracks.
A great hotel in a good location in the Blue Mountains. Good choice of restaurants.
A really nice spot, cosy with amazing views. Food at Embers was reasonably good and the staff very friendly and kind.
We had a lovely night. we didn't arrive until after dark so it was a really nice surprise when we woke up to an amazing view of the mountains the next morning.
Great Service, food choices was difficult and expensive for a family of 4
Stayed here two nights. Overall it was a good experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable if a little basic. It s hard to tell as a lot of amenities have been removed due to Covid. The only fault I have is that the hotel is showing it s age. They are building an ice skating rink but I think that money would have been better used to update the hotel. Fix the broken areas, spruce up the rooms. A great full service hotel outside of Sydney isn t an easy find. If they got that right the Fairmont would be bringing in the $$$.
We had a wonderful stay. Fairmont Resort had something for our whole family and we look forward to staying there longer next time.
5 stars from the kids. 3.5 stars from me
Great view, play area, facilities and activities for the children.
Breakfast is not bad but dont expect high quality for lunch and dinner. Bed and pillow can improve. Overall we had a good family time and will come back
The rooms were decent sized and clean when we arrived however one problem was the slow service. It seemed that the hotel was struggling to cope with the very busy holiday period. Everytime we asked for something simple like a towel it would take at least 2 hrs before it arrived. Staff always say hello and are very friendly and the facilities are grea
t especially for the kids with the large games room and table tennis. Also the indoor and outdoor pools allowed for a swim whenever we wanted rain or shine so overall it was a pleasant experience
Mixed reviews, trying to decide whether to book for a wedding anniversary next February.
Had a great stay here, wonderful views, nice location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is nice, however it's starting to show it's age. I did see renovations and new construction happening so I guess they're working on it.
Beautiful environment, living in the mountains, charming small lake, tennis court, maple leaf lawn makes people forget to return...
I enjoyed much staying in Fairmont resort, it is classical European resort with good maintenance. My child feel very happy when the staff give him special gift during check-in. I will came back if I visit again the blue mountain next time.
Great place to go with family or with your partner they have their own cinema, pools spas, adventure forest, bush walls and loads more things to do food was great drinks as well no complaints, Pet friendly rooms, loved it.
Very nice location in the Blue Mountens. Very friendly staff. My room was big and very nicely decorated. Everything was very clean and well maintained. A nice pool is also available. I would like to come again.
Booked through ACCOR reservations - originally for 2 nights, then extended for a 3rd. Was told that the stay couldn't be extended but would have to be a separate booking. Really?
Shortly after arrival our internet connection cut out - apparently my Le Club member number wasn't registered. Yet I had booked using points to pay for the first night - how does this happen? To resolve this the girls at the front desk decided to register me for a new account? Trying hard but not so smart.
I had to ring home to get the correct number - and when I gave it to them the next day (after realising what they had done) they told me the system would not let them change the membership number.
After our 2nd night a check out bill and form was left under the door. I found this was incredible as I had discussed the double booking on arrival to ensure we were not g going to be asked to change rooms. On arrival back at the hotel our room keys had been disabled and I had to go back to reception to get them re-set.
No. information or request was asked of us that we would have to do this.
The girls at the front desk were just "working within the system" and didn't seem able to do (or think) outside it - which makes it difficult to provide the seamless service that we expect.
As everything was booked through the ACCOR membership booking system there are obvious flaws in both your booking system, as well as the ability of individual properties to look after their guests.
We found the whole experience frustrating and will now put ACCOR properties to the lower end of options when looking at accomodation
Wow this hotel defiantly has it all. Such an amazing place with so much to do. Everything was spot on here. Such a warm welcome from Adam and the other man at the concierge which made such a great first impression here. We had dinner at the embers restaurant on site and the food was amazing and the great hospitality received here from Sandeep and other staff. The facilities at this resort are endless with nice extra touches like dressing gowns, slippers, room service and stocked mini bar fridge. Rooms were clean, spacious and the bed was so comfortable. Buffet breakfast is really good with lots of options. Excellent facilities, views, dining, rooms and service. Nothing to fault here and we look forward to returning in future.
Fairmont Resort is a very peaceful and pleasant resort. The staff are excellent and made the stay incredibly relaxing and enjoyable.
The rooms were a good size and clean.
There are also an assortment of activities for everyone in the family, such as a playground for the children, and a cinema for a selection of movies.
Overall, really happy with my stay here, and will definitely be looking to return in the future.
Rooms are nice however service on a whole was not so good - not likely to return. Certain staff members were less than friendly, a cold coffee was dealt with by adding more milk which made it tasteless, room service operator on phone was rude and unaccommodating when asking for a cup of milk for a baby. Front reception warmed up by checkout. Kids play area great, however not all arcade games worked and chewed up money. On a whole this place could be an excellent gateway if the staff were encouraged a little cheerier and hospitable, especially being the larger hotel in the blue mountains.
Great dining.... Great views... Great hotel perfect for the family with plenty of activities
AMAZING weekend away at the Fairmont! Beautiful setting, such helpful staff across the board and fantastic services! Will definitely return for some R&R soon :)
Our room was freezing and it took about 24hrs to start to warm it up. We ended up asking for an oil heater to help warm the room.
Location and the room was good. Great games room for the kids too.
WE HAD A WONDERFUL STAY, WE ATE IN THE DINING ROOM AND DINNER AND BREAKFAST. MY DINNER WAS A LITTLE ON THE COLD SIDE BUT APART FROM THAT IT WAS LOVELY.
Wonderful experience Pleasantly surprised how helpful all staff were, Would like to return again soon
spectacular view of could in the mountain with runrise. but no free wifi
Magical! clean, romantic, great service, comprehensive guide, gorgeous toiletries, LOVED the cinema. the play ground the easter hunt, concierge with helpful tips. A weekend without cooking or cleaning and helpful service. I felt like a princess. Can't wait to come back.
Gym closed early but understand because they need time to clean up but it was a very well equipped gym
wifi speed was poor but was fully booked that weekend and our mobile phone wifi was ok so used that when we had to but being on holidays didn't really care about the gym or wifi jus had a beautiful time with the family.
The Resort has shifted its focus to be more family friendly. Lots of facilities have been added for children.
Unfortunately, the lack of soundproofing makes it very noisy. This is now not so very friendly for adults not accompanied by children.
The staff is wonderful but let down by issues of the building.
Furthermore, when housekeeping is only completed between guests there is no excuse for mould, cobwebs and dirt.
Beautiful Accommodation and amenities and food with a great 18 hole Golf course with spetacular views
Everything was perfect except the exhausts in the bathroom. The exhaust need to be fixed as you could feel the bad smell while walking in the corridor.
Disappointed with quality. Bathroom door locked itself during night and staff could not get it opened. After request got moved to new room after midnight. Received "sorry" note plus free breakfast and two "house" drinks. Disappointed with this service.
Great location and lobby etc. Terribly overpriced hotel rooms
I can summarise my stay here in one word wow
The staff was super friendly everywhere we go we ve been with with a big smile and a friendly chatter.
Highly organised specially during this COVID times. Will definitely come here again.
A majestic hotel in a unique setting
What to say about the Fairmont de Bleura hotel? Located in the heart of the Blue Mountains, this luxury hotel offers high-end services that live up to the chain's reputation.
Located in a huge estate made up of a park, a golf course, tennis courts and two swimming pools, it offers comfortable rooms offering a breathtaking view of the Blue Mountains park.
The welcome is warm whether in the restaurant (very good) or in the hotel.
An ideal place to relax!
View is spectacular and layout and facilities are superb. Staff are very friendly and helpful
the resort has beautiful, plenty of activitys , the food was excellent
I had left my favorite shirt in Fairmont during my stay there. I had then left Sydney on my way back home to Singapore.
I emailed Josie who replied instantly to my email that they had it and will send back to me in Singapore.
Fairmont will also cover the delivery charges! I am totally impressed with their prompt services and appreciate their kind gesture.
I will highly recommend Fairmont Resort!!! A trusted and reliable hotel!!!
Besides, the hotel is really big spacious with lots of activity rooms for both adults and kids! A memorable stay! I will definitely stay in Fairmont again!
Upon arrival, and with costs prepaid...reception staff told us we were not booked in. We had to prove by providing online paperwork. Then on the fire alarm night, alarm was activated and we were advised to prepare to evacuate and await further advice's. We are STILL waiting for a further advice. We tried to contact the desk several times however phone in room did NOT work. Apparently we (the clients) should have realized that the phone was unplugged. ???????? I used my mobile to confirm all was safe. The morning of check out, we woke to an account under our door?????What...grr. Had to sort out this issue as well. The day manager was most helpful, even offering us a complimentary breakfast. We did in fact have a lovely time in the Mountains but perhaps more training for your staff would keep clients happier.
The Fairmont Resort & Spa Blue Mountains located in Leura is truly an amazing place to stay. Five star service from the moment you arrive. Beautiful location, and perfect for family holidays or a relaxing weekend away. Food choices are great and they like to use local produce and have a great wine selection.
We have been coming here for over 20 years and would highly recommend this place. Can t wait to come back again!
The scenery is beautiful and the air is fresh, which is a pleasant place.
We were extremely happy with the professional and helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The food and beverages were of a high standard. The situation of the hotel is perfect for exploring the Blue Mountains Region.
Attended the resort for the segway tour. Very beautiful location and somewhat well maintained grounds and recreational areas. Didn't experience the service as the segway tour was managed by a third party provider
A very nice place very helpful staff.we had a great room nice and clean
Not very impressed with this resort. Especially for its high price. Any request I have, I have to ask twice. Nothing is done the first time I ask. And they don t seem to service the rooms.
My wife and I love the Fairmont Resort and shall be back!!
