Went for drinks and dinner at the Italian restaurant. Drinks were a little slow to arrive but once we got to the restaurant the service was exceptional. Food was lovely all around and the lobby is magnificent.

The communal areas of the hotel and the grounds are lovely, but the bedrooms are a little dated, and could do with an upgrade.

The swimming pool was nice and clean.

The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The Italian restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast was good as well.

We enjoyed our stay.

The best spa experience I've been too so far. From start to finish you are pampered and looked after. Free robe and slippers provided at reception and free fresh towels in the changing rooms and gym. First time there we had a treatment which was amazing, I also used the gym which was great. Good selection of free weights and machines also had a bench and a smiths machine and had a good selection of cardio equipment. The spa is fantastic, nice sized pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. Also something called a snail shower which is basically a bucket filled with freezing water which you use after coming out of either the sauna or steam room. There is also a shower which does the same thing, if you feel brave give it a go. There are also showers before the pool area. The changing rooms are fantastic and have digital lock lockers which are very simple to use there are also showers in here. Toilets are located in here as well as are hair dryers and a machine to dry off your swimming shorts, which is very handy. Overall this is a fantastic place to go and relax and somewhere I'll be going back to again.

Terrible. Service was poor. Prices are over the top even going by luxury hotels. The food options are limited and poor when they arrive. Lack of attention to detail with service. I ll stick with the Gleneagles thank you very much - this place is just pretending

Huge hotel. Went with friend to celebrate 10 years of friendship. Room was huge with 2 king-sized beds. Swimming pool and spa was lovely although lots of children so not relaxing. Afternoon tea was in beautiful setting. Would definitely go back.

It is a long way out of town and really lacks the charm of being in old St. Andrews. Its a decent hotel, but it is also a bit of an industrial complex; they took a huge warehouse splashed a posh American Hotel brand name on it. Because it was big and comfortable I'd go here again with my family, but if I were travelling with friends or on my own I would never choose to stay here!

Was there for afternoon tea today to celebrate a 90th birthday. Nicely presented. Good choices of sandwiches, cakes, scones and more teas than I think I have seen on one menu. Staff excellent. Very helpful. Beautiful place. Ambience was something else. Just a thoroughly wonderful day. Nothing seemed to be a problem. Definitely recommend it.

Really nice rooms and surroundings, plenty for the whole family to enjoy. Large spacious areas to sit and enjoy a drink. There's a games room for the kids and a cinema showing kids films at various times throughout the day. Food good if a little pricey but it is 5 star after all.

Quality hotel with great ambience. A few miles outside st Andrews but basking in its magnetic pull. The golf courses are a big attraction for many, both being high standard tests, but there are also spa, restaurant, bar and conference room attractions. This is a hotel in always like to visit

Beautiful hotel, right on the golf course. A little ways for St. Andrews itself but they offer a shuttle to and from. We didn t use the shuttle this time as our time was short. Would definitely stay there again for multiple days next time.

Great experience friendly hard working helpful staff, food and accommodation perfect.Unfortunately there was a fire in the middle of the night which spoiled the whole atmosphere. Noticed there was no head count at muster point. Something the should maybe work on

Love this place. A whole raft of memories over the past 20 years. Romantic weekends, golf games, celebrating 60th and 70th birthdays, getting engaged and celebrating 10th wedding anniversary. No kids, to 3 kids. Highly recommend

Very beautiful and was never hungry with the portion sizes of excellent vegan food that they offered. It's out of the way enough to escape for a while but still close enough to go into town for some shopping.

We have stayed here a few times before and it never disappoints. It's a very family friendly hotel which makes it great for people with younger kids. They can run around to their hearts content and have plenty things on offer. Overall great hotel and only minutes from St Andrews town centre

Everything's great I do have some suggestions the safe in my room is not connected to the wall and it's above Eye Level so as I grabbed it to reach Up to look inside the whole thing came crashing down almost killed me I had done issues with the Italian restaurant which has decent food but it's not what everybody thinks I ordered osso buco and the whole point of osso bucco is the bone yet the meat was taken off of the bone and sitting there in a pile no.osso, just buco, the eggplant parmesan was not what is normal, in the natural sense. it was almost like it was the reconstructed or deconstructed and it was not what we expected I had issues. I was trying to make a reservation for 6pm and they told me nothing was available but since I was staying at the hotel I had the opportunity to stop by the restaurant and they had about 25 open tables but for some reason I couldn't get a reservation they just weren't very accommodating I called at 4:45 to the front desk and they transferred me to the restaurant the phone rang for several minutes and no one ever answered so I walk down to the restaurant and at 4:50 the doors were locked but they let me in to make a reservation the phone rings while I am there and before letting me make my reservations the took the other persons reservation first and then told me that no one answered because the dont open till 5, they had nothing available until 8:45 ( they should have a way to make reservations by phone if the place is not open,) it just wasn't the case they were not very accommodating at that restaurant there was miscommunication but they just didn't care to take care of me
the concierge service is amazing they're great the front desk is ok the concierge guys gave me a ride all the way to the town I then called and spoke to the front desk and asked them to come get me in the afternoon and as I waited I called to check on the status and the front desk told me it was not part of the service they had only done me a favour and that I needed to take a cab when I returned to the hotel the concierge guys told me they were looking for me down there in town but the front desk is basically told me no dice take a cab so there's a miscommunication and basically just no communication between the front desk and the concierge guys and they're only 25 feet apart later during my stay the next evening, the concierge guys once again gave me a ride down to st. Andrews the town but were not able to bring us back and I took a cab but I did call and instead of talking to the front desk I asked for the concierge desk and they actually explaining to me that the boys were busy driving other people and would not be able to get me from town but the front desk needs to communicate better with the concierge guys the front of house guys really are very very accommodating golf courses are fun and wonderful and even the proshop guys are great

Staff are very friendly and attentive, very quick and efficient service.

Starters went down a treat? We had garlic bread, mini bruschetta and my favourite....caramelised goats cheese.
Mini bruschetta was lovely, perfect blend of garlic and herbs, salad was dressed to perfection.
Garlic bread was amazing, really light, very tasty and demolished by the kids as soon as it arrived.
Goats cheese is just fantastic, caramelised to perfection. The parma ham has a rich but delicate taste and is very juicy. The ballance of the cheese, tomato, parma ham, rocket and balsamic glaze is just perfect.

For mains we had carbonara and lasagne, roma style carbonara is just fantastic, pasta properly cooked ( al dente ), the sauce coated the pasta perfectly and was silky smooth.......kids thought it was amazing....so did I.
Lasagne we were told was the chefs family recipe, well all I can say is that must be a talented family. The pasta was perfect, bolognese was full of flavour, white sauce was creamy and the whole dish just made your mouth water.

Sweets.......Apple cake and tiramisu, the apple cake was like eating an apple flavoured cloud, never tasted anything like it....could have eaten 2.
Tiramisu was just lovely, soft and light texture, full of flavour......perfect end to a fantastic meal.

10/10 for both food and service, will definitely be back again

Brilliant stay on Sunday with my twin. It was a birthday trip and the receptionist kindly upgraded us to a front facing room as a kind surprise and had a lovely bottle of prosecco delivered to our room after dinner. Hotel was spotless, staff were amazing and so attentive without being OTT,especially at breakfast, felt like a well oiled machine. All food was delicious and we both agreed that although wearing masks it felt no different, ie we weren't aware of covid as all staff went above and beyond to provide a safe and 5 experience. Would return in a heartbeat and can't recommend highly enough! Beautiful property and amazing staff, will definitely return soon

I visited the Fairmont for the first time with my partner John. We had the afternoon tea experience. I am anaphlactic to nuts and the staff went above and beyond to make sure the food was suitable for me to eat. The hotel is stunning and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to return back.

The room was a generous size and the view from the room overlooking the golf course and see was amazing. The staff were all really helpful and the Scottish breakie went down a treat. The free courtesy shuttle into St Andrews was useful as well.
