On our trip to Scotland we found the majority of the cities overrun with tourists. For those looking to escape from the traditional coach tour groups, the Fairmont is amazing at providing a serene and relaxing break from the crowds. The food at the grill (in the clubhouse) was amazing, and the views were great too.

Great bed and service in overall. Although I though the breakfast would be more interesting with more fruits at the buffet (there was no variety. Nor a single season fruit) and a menu for mains. Staff always nice and prone to help.

We were playing the Kittocks Golf course, one of the 2 at the hotel. Lovely course definitely worth a visit, excellently designed. The holes are well laid out for great views of the coast and St. Andrews. I would suggest getting a stroke saver if you are playing it for the first time, a lot of drivers are a bit blind and you need to position yourself in the right are of the tee.

This hotel was terrible, overall experience was very bad.
The communication and information given at reception was minimal, The spar service was very bad, in fact the massage was very uncomfortable.
There was a fire in one of the spar rooms which caused an evacuation at 3am in the morning, (probably cased by the staff negligence).
We evacuated ourselves to the assembly points outside after 10 minutes of wondering inside the building with no direction of where to go.
People could have died is this fire was more serious.!
We waited outside in the freezing cold for around 45 minutes.
There was no active fire marshal, no staff took responsibility of directing people out.
The sad thing was there were children & they could have died. the staff put lives in danger & this isn't acceptable.
Do not visit this over expensive farce of a luxury hotel!
This is a warning that the staff all round are very negligent of proper duty and lack communication.
No Hotel should run like this one !

We always enjoy our stays at the Fairmont. Great service. We tried most of the restaurants and the food in general was very good. I thought many dishes lacked seasoning, but that was my personal opinion. The best was the pizza from the Italian restaurant and the worst unfortunately the fish and chips. Breakfast was very good with friendly staff and a huge variety. Produce fresh and well presented. Only thing i would change is to have crispy bacon. The one thing i cannot understand is the sports bar that is vegetarian and the only one in Scotland. Never saw anyone in the Sports Bar. I personally think of a sports bar and think of Burgers, sliders, wings, fish and chips. I would change that..... our room was very nice. Only complaint was that the safe did not work and we were in a disabled room and light awitched are very low and the basin is right next to the toilet which makes it difficult to sit on the toilet if you are 6ft4 as you left leg cant fit.
The concierge staff always went the extra mile. The bar staff were very efficient and friendly. All the waiters attentive.

Loved our stay and will hopefully be back.

Hotel was lovely when we stayed there a couple of years ago but it's the golf I go back for. Great courses and you get good deals if you use the golfnow app (Or similar). Courses have always been in great condition.

Good to go for the experience, but somewhat pricey. When arriving for high tea the waiter did well not to burst out laughing when two of our party asked if they could have hot chocolate instead of tea...

One of the waiters was very quietly spoken such that we ended up not having the slightest idea what was in the sandwiches. Sandy as well, the artisan sandwiches weren't all that awe inspiring.

Very nice property....rooms great (heated floors in bathrooms), breakfast buffet is fantastic. Service in the bar/restaurant was terrible. Took 90 mins to get a sandwich and fries. Looked like amateur hour. Dinner at the Grill was awesome.

The bar and grill at the clubhouse is amazing. Go 30-60 minutes before sunset, you won t be disappointed! The staff at the clubhouse restaurant is also awesome - above and beyond. The food there is great too!! Loved our Caesar salads, husband loved his steak, fries were awesome, etc.!

Great rooms and setting. Service is exceptional and staff seem to make sure you enjoy your stay. However, we had dinner at the Italian restaurant within the complex, and had prebooked months in advance. We ended up waiting at the table for 1 hour and 50 mins for the main courses to come out (4 pizzas and 1 steak). If we had been advised in advance, it wouldn't have been such a problem, but we had intended on having a few drinks afterwards at the sports bar and by then, it was too late. Everything else was excellent. Fix this, and it will be 5 stars next time!

First time at the fairmont and quite enjoyed it.We have staying at the Old Course the past 4 or 5 years and its hard not to compare the 2 when they are different. The double rooms are slightly bigger as are the bathrooms but the decor isnt as nice.It felt more family orientated than the Old Course which was good for our baby daughter.Overall still love the Old Course but the pricing there can be ridiculously expensive so this is a really good and cheaper alternative

5 star treatment. 5 star food staff were outstanding. We used the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Would be a wonderful experience for anyone who enjoys golf as in the centre of the golf course. Sea views spectacular

A nice hotel, comfortable and not pretentious. The facilities are good and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurants is excellent.
There is a lovely coastal walk from the hotel into St Andrews, not too difficult but good walking shoes are required. I don't play anymore but the golf courses look pretty decent too.

Fabulous hotel with stunning views and great staff. Not sure that a vegetarian sports bar is a good idea or will take - it seems like an oxymoron to me. Food in La Cucina and Kittocks was superb.

Fabulous hotel in stunning surroundings. Excellent food. Restaurant staff, in particular Julie Anne and Laurant (sorry if the spelling is wrong) were outstanding in the pleasant, courteous and professional manner in which they dealt with us. Both are a credit to the hotel.

What an amazing hotel right in the heart of Scotland. The hotel has everything you could want, whether for a corporate, family or break away everything is all in the one place. Great atmosphere, superb team looking after you from when you pull up at the front entrance. A huge choice of food and drinks menu, the hotel has alot to offer from swimming pool, spa, cinema room or driving range! Well worth the visit and definitely will return.

I have already left a review on Trip Advisor but also feel the need to leave a personal one.
I cannot fault this hotel from the concierge outwards and upwards. My wife and I were having a short break and it was the first proper driving experience of Scotland, the Fairmont being our final one night stay of our break. The room was excellent as was the food and everything else concerned with our stay. Yes its expensive but in my opinion worth every penny. I am a lapsed golfer but really see the attraction of playing a round or two here. Thank you to everyone concerned with our stay. Hopefully we will visit again.

Beautiful hotel.

Beautiful hotel.

Staff excellent, food excellent, rooms excellent!

Hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, golf course, beaches and St Andrew's in the distance.

The hotel is very relaxed and comfortable and we really enjoyed our time here.

Amazing place, everything from arrival to the rooms to the food. Outstanding and a lovely surprise of a wee birthday present when I arrived. The best place I've stayed by a mile and cant wait to go back

Absolutely fantastic!! the staff are first class, nothing is to much trouble, the public areas are spacious and beautifully decorated, the bar has a great selection of whisky and is very reasonably priced.
Overall this hotel must be up there with the best in Scotland. We will definitely make a return visit in the future.

The staff are really great at this hotel. Best restaurant is the St Andrews Grill by the cliff-top & only a short walk from the hotel - the food here is exceptionally good. Rooms are a bit on the small side and it wasn t always just as clean as I would like, but otherwise it s a fine hotel.

We just spent the weekend at the Fairmont and it was great. It's a beautiful hotel and from our room, we had a lovely view of the sea. Our first evening we had dinner at the Squire and it was very nice, the servers were engaging and the food was great. Unfortunately, on our second night at the hotel, we weren't able to pick which restaurant we wanted to have dinner, and reservations were made for us at Kittocks Den. The service was below average and the time to receive our dinner took a very long time. Same hotel and two different experiences.

Hotel and concierge staff excellent. Stunning hotel and location. Dinner was disappointing, items listed on menu not on dish. This happened on both starters and mains. Also had a pasta dish and pasta not cooked through. Appreciate challenging times but a little underwhelmed from dinner. Would stay again but not sure if would have dinner. Breakfast was lovely and breakfast staff great. Pool great and all covid measures in place makes it feel welcoming but still safe.
