SO MANY CHILDREN. We went as a family and fully enjoyed our day here. Lots of fantastic and memorable exhibits with both the hands on aspect and the science behind it. There is a nice but pricey cafe also.

We had a great experience here, this place is geared for kids and adults. You really do get to explore every human sense with the experiments and activities they have setup. This place is big, there are a lot of people and kids, we always found something to play with or observe. Good way to spend 2-3 hours. Great interactive place.

This place is AWESOME. I thought it would be fun to bring my six year old daughter here, and it was amazing. As someone who majored in engineering, I have a pretty good grasp of many of the things presented here, but looking at, say, magnetism, through the eyes of a child aided by fun hands - on experiments brought a whole new light.

We visited the Exploratorium for the after dark event on Thursday evenings during a three day trip to the city, by far it was our favorite evening. Seeing all there is to see is definitely at least a two night affair. All of the exhibits are interactive and give lots to connect over. Bring a friend and you two will leave with fond memories.

We were able to get the last two tickets for the Tactile Dome and I unfortunately lost them, discovering this about 5 minutes before the event started. The staff and management were so helpful and quick, reprinting our tickets and making sure that we were able to attend this unique event. We're so grateful for their great customer service in this regard, because it one of our favorite activities from our stay.

The Exploratorium is fun for all ages, seriously! We came with a school field trip, but we all had so much fun. Each exhibit has a hands-on activity and a brief explanation of the science behind it. And there are hundreds, maybe thousands of these activities. The knowledge and creativity abounds inside.

I was really skeptical that I would like the new location because I have so many fond memories of the old location near the Palace of Fine Arts. This location is fun, there are SO MANY exhibits, all of them interactive. You could spend hours exploring and they bring new exhibits on a regular basis.

This place is massive, and we had heaps of fun here. We strolled in there after doing Alcatraz with my 8 and 10 year old not really knowing what to expect we didn't even get half way through. Well worth it's money :)

An amazing place to take kids. My 2 and 4 year olds loved it, though it is targeted at kids a bit older, and it was fun for the adults too. There are enough exhibits here to keep kids entertained for several days, and you can choose to explain the science behind it or just let them discover on their own. Admission cost is high ($29 adult $19 child), but not unreasonable for what you get, or For the bay area, and there are discounts for students, teachers, locals, seniors, etc. I plan to come again, and may even get a membership if I can figure out a good transportation/parking solution.

Being a science major I always love seeing experiments, hands on activities, and everything science. The exploratorium is like a giant science museum except a hundred times better!I went during their after dark night and the theme for the night was glow, having different types of lights glow and Tesla cool related experiments.
This science museum has every type of science, biology, physics, engineering, chemistry, and much more! You don't need to be into science to enjoy this amazing place

I went here for a private event and was actually really impressed by the exhibits! The space itself is really beautiful and well designed, and I wanted to stop and interact with everything. I definitely plan to come back here and spend a whole day wandering around inside...you don't need to be with a toddler to enjoy it!

A very complete and extraordinary place of education and recreation.
Recommended for teachers to deepen their knowledge and methodology to be applied in schools. An educational tool that challenges students.
If you go to SF, loss if you don't stop by here.

Museum included in the cityPass of San Francisco (which I recommend doing!). It is the museum that I liked the most, various thematic halls (magnetism, light, electricity, etc) and is very interesting for children too. It's very big, if you want to visit them all it takes a lot of hours! Highly recommended

What fun for anyone. Several exhibits all over inside, so be brave and head to the remote areas and explore where there are fewer people looking over your shoulder. Take a kid or two and let them see for themselves how stuff works. The curators know what they are doing, the displays are user friendly and easy for a kid to understand if you can get any kid to settle down and read the instructions. And the WOW factor is always present. Have fun and visit this place often!

Such a fun place to explore for my little one and the adults can also enjoy different interactive exhibits. Love that they change up the displays so we can always learn something new each time we visit the museum.

Came here with a group of 3 on a Thursday for After Dark. Tickets were $15 online, and we parked a block away in a lot across the street ($15 evening parking). There's cheaper Exploratorium parking directly across the street.

Pros:
-restaurant looked decent
-short line for prepaid tickets

Cons:
-way too many people. The entire place was packed, and we had to wait for a lot of exhibits
-boring exhibits. As an engineer and scientist by training, I didn't learn anything from any of the exhibits, and most of them were ones I had already seen before.
-Adler Dome closed for After Dark
-Zoe Keating special performance looked incredibly overbooked

I m glad I made a stop here, I thought is more for children. But adults can have tons of fun here! The ticket price is around $20-29 depends on where you buy them at.
Try to come during the week to avoid the crowd. I went during the week, it wasn t busy at all.

You don't have to have kids to come here. This is such a great place to come and. Enjoy all the interactive displays at any age. Spent quite a few hours learning about lights, colors, sounds and more! Bring your student ID for a $5 discount at entry and plan to spend hours!

The expanded Exploratorium at Pier 15 is a five star experience as the previous reviewers agree, but can wear you out. To get the most bang for your twenty-five bucks, you need to pace yourself and relax. Did you get hot running around the exhibits trying to keep up with the kids? Go outside and cool off in the fog exhibit on the walkway between the piers. Go upstairs and outside at the Bay Observatory. You can lunch at SEAGLAchose toSS restaureant or picnic outside (but remember to get your hand stamped). I was hang out in the cinema room watching the short films, taking a weight off my feet. Want to take a break standing up? There's a pinball machine with the insides exposed so you can see how it works. Still tired? There's an expresso bar and and espresso cart.

Terrific, interactive museum/living laboratory. Lots of fun and thought provoking things to see, do, and explore. Kids and adults of all ages will experience new and unknown discoveries. It's a bit expensive, but a good value if you spend much of the day there. Who knows, your visit may inspire a family member to become a future scientist!

Super cool! Do you still know the old Evoluon in Eindhoven? This is his big brother! You will learn everything there is to know about science: physical phenomena that you try out yourself. Nice !!!!
