Too many exhibits to see on just one visit, so be prepared to come back a second or even third! My suggestion is to start at section 3 then 4 and 5, because the latter ones are arguably more exciting. Regardless of how you do it, this is a fantastic place to bring yourself, kids, etc.

We all loved this! Ages 73 to 41, we were like kids again!! We came for the INFLATABLES which was kinda disappointing but we had so much fun in between the exhibits exploring science, perception and technology. Fun for everyone.

Polite staff ruined by insecure management bound to rules. Opportunity to become a customer-oriented experience and Dominique blew it. I made a mistake and was offered very little help in making it right. I'm sure the inside is very nice.

Meant for kids but still a lot of fun for adults. Play with magnets! Touch stuff! Run around, explore, learn something, let yourself be filled with a little bit of wonder for the natural world.

Unfortunately it can also be a bummer for lonely people. Quite a few of the exhibits needed two people to work properly. This place would be a lot more fun if you had a partner and kids. If you're like me you'll probably end up leaving this place with mixed feelings.

Still, it's a very cool place with lots of exhibits to see. I'd say it's up there with the Academy of Sciences as the two best museums in San Francisco. I did love the great views of the bay on the upper floors and the exhibits are pretty fun for the most part.

Thursday night (adult night) at the exploratorium is amazing. It's like being a kid again, only now you can perform beautifully designed science exhibits while drinking. Go on date night, go with a friend, just try and go early so you can do as much as possible.

Great place however as a lone traveler, I found it to be underwhelming. Still spent 30-40 minutes there, a lot of the exhibits require 2+ people involvement which sadly was not my case. Can't wait to go back with a group!

You will definitely need a whole day to go through everything. There is something for everyone. Our favorite displays were there interactive ones. My kids had a blast and they could touch and play with almost everything.

A place at exorbitant price compared to the proposed atractions. This is of interest to children under 12 years (and again) it should be cheaper because $ 30 for an adult when it is not even the target is hateful. In More

At first glance, it does not appear flashy or shiny or new. But oh, man, we could have spent all day long at this place. As it was, 2 1/2 hours went by in a flash. The hands-on scientific learning opportunities are nearly endless. Only extreme hunger pulled us away. I would encourage anyone, old or young, to set aside a few hours to lose oneself in science.

I have a membership here, and it was definitely worth getting. I can't check out the whole place at once because it gets a bit overwhelming. This place isn't just for kids btw. Adults can most definitely have a blast (especially Thursday nights)!

My husband and I went by ourselves and could've spent the entire day here. There is so much to see and do and learn. We had fun being kids and doing all the hands on activities. Highly recommend for families but also for those without kids!

This place pretty much rocks through and through. Not sure if it is for kids or adults. Both will have a good time. You could spend all day here several times over. These types of places usually miss the mark for me. But this one hits it out of the park.

Our original idea was to entertain an 8-year-old at this place, but the adults in the group had fun just as much. I wouldn't even know what exactly to recommend, everything is interesting and fun! There are even an outdoor deck and the lockers for rent. I recommend, if possible, visiting it during the week-weekends are usually crowded, but I wouldn't miss the visit, nevertheless.

The worlds finest hands on science museum. Ideal for children but by no means exclusively for them. Thursday nights are After Dark, exclusively for adults, allowing them to wander about the museum with a cocktail in their hands and not worry about bumping into children.

Took my nephew and his 5-year old son visiting from CO since I read such great reviews. It was so crowded and each time the 5-year old went to an interesting and cool looking thing to try he was pushed out of the way by older children and their parents. I wanted to say something but my nephew asked me not to. Couldn't believe how crowded it was. It's very expensive and we didn't think it was worth the money at all. We didn't even stay an hour and were very disappointed.

Hands down of the coolest museums I've ever been too. So much to see here for kids and adults. I went twice during my visit to the area and still didn't see it all. No matter your age...you'll find something to learn and enjoy here. An experience not to be missed.

Came on a Thursday night for an adult night with friends for the first time. Felt like a kid in a toy shop! It was fun to do all of these activities with friends and discover different and new things! Love that we can have drinks at this place!

First time at the new location. Great lay out. My only recommendation is be prepared to spend at least 3 hours or more to see everything. It's a very large place and we only had 2 hours which cut us short on seeing everything. If you're a local get the membership, by far a great deal.

Overwhelmingly huge. Very expensive. No comparison with other science museums, it's the archetype for all modern interactive science museums. When it was created by Frank Oppenheimer (J. Robert Oppenheimer's younger brother), it was a participatory, hands-on, hippie kind of thing. Most of the original exhibits were made out of recycled surplus and junk.
Now, a nominal few of those original exhibits are banished to obscure corners of the museum. The space is dominated by expensive corporate-sponsored professional shows that are cold and not-so-interactive.
