This review is for the radiology department at Gritman Medical Center. My husband and I arrived on time and were waiting to be called in for an ultrasound when two people from radiology came and told us they wanted us to go into a small room, not near the radiology department. I immediately assumed we were in trouble since I had previously cancelled an MRI and also a CT scan. I pictured them telling us that they just could not run a radiology department efficiently if we were going to keep cancelling our appointments. This instant fear that came over me no doubt stemmed from my school days and the many times I had to see the truant officer at Lake Stevens High School for being late to school :-). What a surprise to learn the real reason for the meeting was to tell us that the hospital's ultrasound machine was on the fritz. But, they didn't just tell us that and send us packing, they fell all over themselves to make up for the loss of our time by giving us a pass to the cafe and a free gas card for a local gas station and by apologizing sincerely. They were friendly and very kind, so much so that I told one of them that the next time I'm depressed I'm coming to the radiology department to start feeling good again. But, this is not the end of the story. Since the CT scan I had cancelled was for later that day, I asked them if we might go ahead with the MRI we had cancelled days earlier instead. While the CT scan time slot didn't work for the MRI, they were able to do the MRI anyway and also the ultrasound! They have another gizzmo for ultrasound they were about to bring in, and we ended up with two processes out of the way instead of one. It was a great day, thanks to the care we were shown by Scott, the manager, and the three technicians who performed the ultrasound and MRI. A little kindness goes a long way.

Had a nurse lie through her teeth about my EKG results while I was currently in the throes of a horrifying panic attack in order to get my blood drawn faster. I told her that I wanted to wait for the lorazepam to kick in before being stuck with a needle (which I have a fear of), and she made up something about "strange EKG readings" which I knew to be a lie since I had already seen the doctor and he said that everything looked fine. I also overheard the same nurse making disparaging remarks about me outside my room, apparently unaware that I had working ears. I wish I remembered her name so I could file a complaint specifically against her, but I suppose writing an online review that no one will ever read does the job.

I hope you lose your job. You should not be a nurse.

Stay away from this place at all costs! They sent me to collections while the insurance company was getting them to fix their bill. Basically they punished me because the insurance would not let them over charge. $6000+ bill for an ER visit for $12 of pain killers, no xrays or other diagnostic imaging. They are predators!

I went to Gritman with an injury about 3 weeks ago, and they couldn't have been more professional or kind during my care. The receptionist/intake person, Dr. Brown, the radiology tech, nurses Cyndi and Beth were all great. I would definitely return there for care in the future should it become necessary. I can't speak to anyone else having a bad experience, but my time there was way more than okay. I appreciate all of them.

I recently had surgery here. The staff were very sweet, thoughtful, and kind. i suffer from sever PTSD and panic attacks, plus I've had really bad experiences in the past coming out of anesthesia. They made sure I felt safe and secure. I've never come out of surgery feeling safe and calm until now. I felt that they did everything they could to ensure that. I'm grateful.

My college daughter was taken by ambulance to this hospital and when it was time to pay her bill, they were very rude to her. She went in to pay, with CASH and they didn't even offer her a discount. The bill, after insurance was almost $2000.00 and she took her hard earned, college money in there to pay (again all cash) and never was offered a cash discount. When she asked them, they were very rude and just said, "No, this is the amount and no discounts". All of my experiences, with other hospitals, have been, you pay with cash, you get a bit of the bill taken off. I feel they took advantage of a college girl on her own for her first time.

Gritman almost killed me. Moved down to Moscow, they messed up on two tests and told me I had heart damage and it didn't look good for me. That left me in terror going to the hospital every time i had chest pain until another hospital found out it was gallbladder related. The doctor was vague, didn't explain the situation, seemed to be covering his ass more than anything. Along with that, they ordered some zofran but injected me with promethazine and ativan 1mg which almost killed me later on due to opiates in my system. Heart rate got extremely low, blood pressure lowest ive ever seen it. They are reckless and inept. If you go here, there's seriously a chance to leave in a body bag due to their Emergency Departments carelessness.

I was very disappointed with our visit. We went to the emergency room late in the evening for our son because our primary care office was closed. We waited patiently for 4 hours with our infant who was projectile vomiting, very weak and limp. By the time we got to the back to be seen they told us it was going to be another 2-3 hour wait before the doctor was able to come see us. We decided to go to quick care, since by that time, it was about to open. 10 years later I get a bill from Gritman and they are unwilling to do anything for the balance considering the situation and the fact that he was never seen. I have been to multiple hospitals and seen many different ways to resolve things and Gritman didn't even try. All they can say is we are open 24 hrs a day and everyone has to get paid.

As an RN/BSN. I would not send a grizzly bear there, they would torture and kill it. Voted worse ER AND ICU in the nation! Many great nurses and Doctors will not set foot on their property. Currently facing medical negligence and wrongful death suit. Go to Pullman Regional or better yet Kootenai Medical Center in Couer d'Alene if you want to live and not be medically mutilated for life. They thrive on Gross Negligence. Their ignoring of a major heart attack is the reason I am medically retired from Cardiac Ischemia. Heart cells die after a heart attack when postponing medical care for 17 hours! I would give negative star rating if that was an option. Any RN or Doctor who works there is extremely UNETHICAL. Stay away from this hospital if you do not want your life destroyed.

If I could give them a negative 10, I would. I was in a car accident yesterday. I sat in the ER yesterday for 5 hours, the only thing they did for me was gave me a lidocaine patch, which I told them that it didnt help at all, and finally the dr prescribed me a prescription that I was allergic to, so I told him I couldn't take it due to allergies. He snags it out of my hand, says "Good God" and leaves. He comes back a couple minutes later and said that his machine wasn't working, so he handed me a hand written prescription. It wasnt enough time to get filled at Walmart, they say they need 20 minutes to fill safely, so all pharmacies qete closed for the night. Walgreens, RiteAid, Sidds (Owl)Pharmacy, and Walmart Pharmacies ALL said the same thing, they have never heard about it, and DON'T carry it. I called the ER back, and told them that, they argued with me and told me the dr who wrote it, wasn't there and I'd have to wait till Monday to talk to my PCP. Very bad bedside manners, I would not reccomend this hospital for my worst enemy!

Couldn't have received better care! Went in thinking I was in labor. Haha... Yeah nope. Anyway Rachel and Brittany we're amazing and so honest and real!! Went to ER just to check some things and Beth was equally as amazing and real. They gave us special wedding cake! So much respect for them working their not-quite-caffeinated-enough butts off!! Thank you!!

The nurses are breaching confidentiality laws and completely misdiagnosing people. I have had multiple AWFUL experiences here, from nurses lying to me to doctors with stinky nasty fingernails to almost dying to family friends having their private information leaked to everyone in the hospital. This is the worst hospital I have ever been to and everyone working here should be jailed.

Disappointing! It was unfortionate that some of ER staff and case manager assigned to the patient were very unpleasent to work with and later dishonest after we expressed our concerns to the administration. This will be the very last time we take a family member with a medical emergancy to this facility until some major changes are made.

After giving birth and having over 3000 dollars in medical bills I was told I could pay monthly payments. Yet I receive a letter saying my remaining balance is due in full. Bad communication as far as their billing department. I also had a bad experience in the birthing center. I have worked in health care and would never ignore a patients requests. I asked for the experienced nurse to do a procedure since they were in the room, instead they want to train their new staff on you despite your numerous requests.

Don't go here. A symptom suppressive for profit hospital where they will do everything in their power to make sure you do as many expensive tests and nonsense so that your bill is in the thousands. I recommend either going 7 miles to pull man or just tough it out.

Went in to the E.R for stomach pain and after sitting around for 2 hours they finally got someone to see me. The doctor said let's take xrays. So we did. Then he said let's get you some meds. He gave me painkillers. Then after about 20 min they said I'm good to go after they managed to ring up thousands of dollars because of the xrays. Horrible hospital just suppressed my symptoms, milked me for all the money they could and sent me away without fixing any stomach issues just got me high. Disgrace

My husband was taken there from Elk River for a spontaneous lung collapse. When the put the pigtail chest tube in they missed puncturing his heart by millimeters. It was done too low on his left chest. He was there for a week without a single linen change on his bed and was handed a small tub of water with soap and a wash cloth and told to bathe himself. The pigtail chest tube was replaced by a larger tube in his side. A few days later the suction machine attached to the chest tube broke in the night. The nurses had no clue how to replace the machine. They got a new on and we're reading the instructions. They didn't clamp off his chest tube while doing the replacement which blew his chest up like a balloon and caused excruciating pain. They did not put gloves on and had all the hoses and stuff laying on the hospital floor. He was transferred to another hospital where he recieved exceptional care. Never will either one of us go to Gritman again. He had to ask for his pain meds. Sometimes waiting 45 minutes after calling for them. Worst hospital ever.

My grandson was born at Gritman. His doctor and their staff were absolutely awesome...so much so that my sister-in-law, a nurse, came from Central Oregon to Moscow to see their facility. She was so impressed that she took and implemented their protocol at St. Charles.
They even have a program allowing parents to walk in (no appointment necessary) with their babies. This is such a great service. They are a 10 .

Went into this hospital this morning and was told to leave because the nurse believed I was manipulating them for a free bed when I had severe stomach problems. Even an ambulance paramedic called to see if I could go in and receieve help and they said no. I feel disrespected, discriminated against and have never heard of a hospital turning a person away because of how many time they were in the hospital. If I could rate the hospital a zero I would. Would never go back even if I could but I was told I can't go to that hospital. Wouldn't recommend going unless there is absolutely no other hospital.

This review is for SAME DAY SURGERY AND ADMISSIONS as these are the only two departments that I had experience with when recently having surgery at this facility.

I am a trans female and had my top surgery (Breast Augmentation) recently at Gritman in the same day surgery center. The staff, including Dawn, Brittney, Brandy, and all of them were SUPER nice to me and I could not have asked for a better experience. They respected my pronouns, gender identity, and the whole 9 yards. They were very attentive to my needs as well and making sure my pain level was okay, etc.

The admissions staff was nice as well and helped me to get checked in very swiftly and without issues. I really appreciated them. The admissions and lobby area has had a recent "face lift" and looks very home like, nice, and comfortable. Overall, the facility looked nice, clean, and comforting. The staff was awesome as well.

If you are considering this facility for your same day surgery needs, I highly recommend them as they were really awesome for me and with other patients as well. If your surgeon does surgery here, I recommend asking! I don't think you will be disappointed. :)

I was given care for a broken foot here a few years ago and the experience was good. More impressive, I crashed my bike outside of the hospital and not one but five staff members rushed to me to make sure I was okay. I'd injured my ankle and they stayed until they were sure I could walk and I did not need medical attention. Good people!

Walked into emergency room with a stiff neck in pain. Just some blood tests. Got a bill for over $6,000!!!! These people are predatory billers. It was 2 years before I could pay my bill but I PAID IN FULL yet they won't take it off my credit report because I did not pay fast enough. I called billing, they were as sympathetic as a bag of rocks! Want to know what is wrong with medical care? Take a look at the dirt bags over at Gritman!!!!

Can't believe this place is really a hospital, they just try to suck as much money as they can from you. I was given test after test after test for no reason, confirmed with another hospital in Lewiston after that the first test I was given had sufficient results and no reason to do 3 more. What can you really expect from such a small town I guess, but stay away at all costs, go to a real hospital in a larger city.
