A great place for the travellers to visit. They have thoughtfully designed benches to rest between all the walking around!

A great place for the travellers to visit. They have thoughtfully designed benches to rest between all the walking around!
Fun and play with science!
Great for kids, and they reopen Thursday evenings for adults only.
Every Thursday evening they open for adults only. It's less crowded and noisy than during the day, and they open several bars with beer, cider and cocktails.
Very good. Great for adults too. We were there for about R hours and didn't do everything.
Convenient location and reasonable cost. Low ceilings, not sufficient headroom for minivans and trucks.
Cool experience for children and adults alike. If you are in the area, defenitly take a vist to the Exploratorium.
This place only gets better. All manner of hands-on learning, discovering and inspiration. My daughter has been loving it since she was 3! I go every chance I get and I am 50!
Great on thursdays when there are only adults. Perfect date idea. Get there early to participate in certain free activities that tickets run out for.
Tons of great things to explore, amazing exhibit by Theo Jansen. Would go again.
One of the best places in San Francisco.
Works longer on Thursday. Price is also normal - 15 usd.
A lot of different apparatus from different topics like sound, color, optics, physicist, chemist, etc.
Highly recommend to visit.
Took a bunch of campers on a field trip here. They had a great time! I saw a lot of exhibits from my childhood, and wildcard is the most creative exhibit I have ever seen anywhere. 10/10, best place
I did the Thursday night after dark. It was really awesome to go experience it with a beer and no little monsters to moe you down. A great science centre.
Magnificent Interactive Museum for children from 5 to 99 years old.
Great location for an industry social event. Would love to take my kids here one day.
BIGGER IS BETTER. I had so much fun since almost everything is interactive! How can you not like having fun and getting school'ed at the same time?! I went during their nightlife on Thursday and it was pretty packed.
Parking is easy at night and admission was $15 (nightlife). I highly encourage anyone to check it out.
The approach of understanding by trying is super way for the youngest to learn the explorer has understood and implemented it !!!
Great new location.Wonderful new exhibits. Traditional favorites still there.
Really good fun! Extra exciting being so close to the dock outside to view the naval activity in the Bay.
Sweet place for kids to explore and learn! Fun for all ages and very fair pricing.
So much fun. Very interactive. Great place to bring little ones. They will be tired out by the end of the day.
My 3 year old loved this place. It's huge and lots to do! I enjoyed it too! Lots to explore!
Cool stuff! Good for a meeting with a friend or a date.
One of the best museums in the country. Huge, plan on spending lots of time here. Gets very busy on weekends.
Lots of displays and activities. I went there 4 or 5 hours before they closed and didnt even get to see all of them! Will be going again. Theres also a code that you can use on their websites for cheaper parking near the exploratorium!
It is a huge exploratorium, it will take you all day to go through everything. The place is good for both children and adults. Very educational, made and explained simply. Various interesting games that will challenge you. Just go and you will learn a lot about our planet. Subjects such as physics, engineering, biology are covered with excellent examples which makes objects to be understood easier.
Fun , fun, fascination on our San Francisco Bay, do come out to play! Thursday evening bar service for adults only as well. Cavernous
Space for the curious at heart!
Super cool for anyone of any age, lots of fun interactive exibits
Excellent place to go to visit in San Francisco, be sure to go!
I grew up going to the Exploratorium several times. I loved it them and I love it now. There is Just so much to do and see. Would actually recommend more than a single day to cover the entire Museum. Fun for all ages.
There is something for everyone here at the Exploratorium, even if you are not much of a science lover yourself. There is enough to spend hours looking through the exhibits and learning about what they have to offer.
It would have been a fabulous experience however walking into an exhibit room seeing a large group of employees lounging around not interacting with a single person followed up by 3 employees arguing about where they're would work for the day kind of ruined the experience for myself.
It s nice to go in the weekday afternoons.
If you feel overwhelmed, you probably just need to eat, bring some snacks for yourself and your group.
This new location of the exploratorium is massive. So much to learn and explore, can easily spend 4-5 hours on the exhibits. Great spot for kids and not being one, still enjoyed the science exhibits which were interactive/sharing.
Must wear walking shoes, as there's quite a bit to walk.
This place is really fun, especially the tacdil dome!
Great place for kids. My wife and I also enjoy the time there.
Coolest museum in SF, and one of the coolest museum spaces to visit. Check out the Thursday night events.
I went with my husband, both seniors, our son and our one year old granddaughter, we all learned a lot and she was able to play at a couple of the interactive displays of how the physics work! A fun afternoon, which helped both ours and her learning curves develop.
This place is a fantastic alternative to boring reading & looking at museums. This is a hands on, play, experiment with stuff. For the curious kid in all of us. Recommended for families of all ages. Wonderful cafe that served excellent coffee & even had vegan burger that was exceptional! (impossibly burger). We ate outside on patio as they were closing very comfortably temperature in Mid August.
Absolutely amazing place with great exibits showing experiments from physics, social sciences, biology, geology and much, much more. Highly recommended!
Interesting facts of science i feel like a kid again
Great place, love the exhibits and the people watching.
Cool place to explore with kids and adults alike. Get your ticket cheaper through the Go City pass.
Very fun for curious young minds. Food is actually good and well presented.
Amazing place to bring the family! There is so much to do here, it's crazy! Definitely a place to bring the family while in San Francisco...
Nice concept, I specially liked math and social sections.
Great place to take the kids, very interactive exhibits meant to boggle and enrich your mind.
Still one of the best (and only) hands-on science museums in the world
So fun, even for adults. It's also huge, so you can easily spend hours here. I've been a couple of times for the Thursday night After Dark events and they are great for dates or friends nights out... Having a drink or two makes everything even more fascinating.
Scientific experiments sometimes basic but still effective! Fun and interesting
Honestly you can spend hours here. It's not your standard museum, you wont be bored at all. Everything is hands on and interactive. It's perfect for all ages! The place is clean, great employees, and everything is visually stunning.
I have always loved the exploratorium; this is the first time I've been back in years, and it is still as interesting as it was when I was a kid. The problem is that there are a crazy amount of kids here, almost seems like they are trying to reach building capacity. Because of this, I was not able to see as much as I would have liked to.
Thursday night is only for adults and the museum during the night is double beautifull
This place is just awesome. I visited alone as an adult and had fun. Going with a friend, and especially if you've got kids, would be a great day out.
There is a lot of fun interactive exhibits covering all areas of science, even pyschology and sociology. The games explaining the value of sharing in society and other hard-to-explain-to-kids concepts I could see being especially valuable to parents.
the place has changed since i use to work at the old spot. The place is awesome though just as i remembered and definitely see new exhibits
Full disclosure : I HAVEN'T actually been to the exploratorium at the NEW location but I remember the GREAT old location at the grand ol' Palace of Fine Arts ... so if it's anything like that.. it's probably a great place to go and have some fun and see some interesting things and ideas ...Hands-On of course
Think of the exploratorium is a thousand science projects that they literally asked you to play with shy of letting you die they let you tinker with everything it is definitely the touchy-feely person's hotspot love it love it going again great parking great people lost my phone they found it and anybody on EBT gets in free
It is only fun with friends and sometimes family !!
Great facility and plenty to keep you or your children busy for hours. Everything is extremely hands on, which keeps all ages engaged. Plan on a few hours (at least) or you can split it up over a couple of days and you still won't see everything. One of the best interactive museums in the country in our opinion.
Parking is easy and unless there's a special event going on you can usually find parking just across the street, on the street, or in one of the two lots that service the location. It's close to Fisherman's Wharf so afterwards you can take a stroll down the boulevard and check out that area too.
If you're in San Francisco, this is the only place you need to visit in "the urinal cake of Americ."
This is was a lot of fun! Definitely geared towards engaging kids in activities but I think the activities are perfect for families. The activities were also appealing to adults which makes it good for families. We come from South Florida and this is reminded us of the Museum of Science & Discovery.
Copernicus Science Center but with worse experience.
Cool place but more for children than two adults. Place was crowded and overrun with children. Many exhibits were not working properly, or if it did, a child would run up and start using it as you are in the process of exploring. So many different exhibits, you need many hours here if you want to check out everything.
Feel like a kid again! The Exploratorium lies on the pier of San Francisco. The exploratorium carries a hefty admission price. About $22 a person. It seems like a lot, I know but this is one admission I don't mind paying!
It opens at 10AM until 5PM. I highly suggest coming here when the doors open because this will be a full day trip! Now since this place is really popular, expect many many kids to be here as well as kids on a field trip also.
Now the cool thing about this place is you CAN bring your own lunch so pack some goodies!
This place is divided in so many parts that you might get really overwhelmed with it!
Before you enter, to your right will be the gift shop and cafe. Gift shop is huge and full of cool things you can buy so perhaps it might be best to stop by that prior to going in the museum.
Now as you enter you will see numerous interactive science exhibitions! Go ahead and play with them to your heart's content! The different areas they have here is science, sound, lights, sea, nature, illusions, mechanical exhibition.
The first area you see is where most of the people hang around and as you venture in further, the people seem to weed out.
The reason I say head in at 10AM because the hours seem to whizz by as you are trying different science projects! Be mindful though people, don't be a douche. There are people waiting to try exhibition so don't try and jump ahead of the line. ESPECIALLY you parents that let their kids run at the project when there are other people clearly waiting. So don't be THAT parent with THAT kid.
Anyways the most popular exhibitions are the toilet water fountain, the tornado fog, the vapor , the upside down mirror, the small/large room, the two seat communicators, monochrome room, the light section, the metal needles, the whale tube, the color room, the engine starter.
Those are just a few to name. There are much more exhibitions to see that it will be impossible to name all of them.
It's an amazing place to spend the day in. Just be weary that cool spherical exhibition where you can enter, charges about $10, so that will be an additional charge.
This is only good for a one time visit to be honest. Once you visit the whole place and do everything, most of it will stay the same throughout couple months. They do switch out exhibitions from time to time.
This is a fantastic organization. I always find something new and fascinating when I visit
Everyone needs to come here once, twice if you enjoy science at all
Perfect date night
perfect field trip
As a physics teacher, I was so excited by the success of 100 students being engaged at one time for several hours.
the programming at night however is even more amazing.
There are a lot of things that you have to see in this place! For all ages.
One of the most entertaining and fun places I've been to in a while.
Well this place is what it is. I personally love it but the down sides to a unsanatury environment is a health concern but still a great place for kid and family activites.
Great place to learn and have fun. Not only for kids, adults can have a great time here and have a fun expecience
This place ain't just for kids. Everyone should check this out. Interactive museums are the best for me and this one is pretty dope.
