Great family fun for the future scientist or engineer in your family. Interesting for all ages. My 6 year old would have stayed past closing time if she was allowed.

Great family fun for the future scientist or engineer in your family. Interesting for all ages. My 6 year old would have stayed past closing time if she was allowed.
Very interesting museum with tons of activities, not just for the kids. You can easily spend 3-4+ hours here. Go early to avoid the crowds.
A beautiful science museum with many different experiments and experiences. In my opinion more suitable for children and young people.
Excellent program always. It is impossible to see everything in one visit. All experiences are interactive. One of the coolest things to see in the city. Highly recommend staying around 2 hours there.
Incredible Funtastic!
Science fans, engineers and curious people will love it!
Well organized, staff friendly and equipment with great conditions. You'll spend hours without notice (reserve a morning or afternoon to visit).
I strongly recommend bring your kid too.
Fabulous! Plan to spend All day, and more. Entertaining and fun for the whole family. My son loved the various demos that staff put on, especially magic tricks demo. So much to see and do and touch and... Explore.
What a delight of a place to go to with kids of every age up to gran and grandads! A delight of fascination, fun and education. The back room staff must have a ball inventing demonstration exhibits to show a scientific principle with fun at the core. We spent a happy rainy day immersed in the area - an onsite restaurant made sure we were catered for in drinks and food too. Learning science and having fun in doing so! EXCELLENT!
There is so much to see that we didn't even have a chance to get to it all. We particularly enjoyed the exhibits with the magnetic sand.
It s a great interactive museum in San Francisco that allows visitors to explore the world through science, art, and human perception. Its mission is to create inquiry-based experiences that transform learning worldwide.
One day is not sufficient for this science overload. Wish the ticket was valid for a week or at least two visits. Marvelous and a must for young and adults alike. You will have so many aha moments here, go early in the morning, take a break in between and start your expedition again . Rare place, where you feel every dollar and minute you spent is worth. I loved the pastas in the eatery at exploratorium.
Give each exhibit it's time, read the instructions on the boards by the specimen, do as suggested. A detailed walk through this place is like doing a big part of your schooling again.
Amazing hands on science experiments and I always learn something new!
I am a huge far on the Exploratorium, both before it moved and even more so now in its new location. The exhibits are all great and even though I have been here many times, it is still a lot of fun. Everything is hands-on and interactive and the space is so big that you can spend hours in here. They also have a great little cafe at the end of the pier. The fact that the Exploratorium is right on the water is awesome and the views are spectacular. This is a great family spot, and great date spot and in general just a lot of fun. I also highly recommend the first Thursday of the month when they have "After Dark", a happy hour party.
Fantastic discovery museum space for kids from 1 to 92. Would be brilliant for a date! My 4 year old loved it, as did her dad. Loads of hands on stuff, good explanations and well distributed so it wasn't too crowded on a Friday afternoon. The gift shop was fabulous too, and the cafe looked lovely, although it was closing as we arrived. Tickets are pricey but it's great fun so worth it.
So much fun... So much to do!! Definitely need a whole day and spend the $10 for the Tactile Dome... Worth it!!!
Amazing place with intesting exhibits. Good for kids.
Want to see some cool stuff for a decent price? Drop by here and embrace science and learn some cool stuff. There is enough interactive activity to last you hours of joy.
There might be a lot of kids there, but the stuff is cool enough to bring joy to the older crowd as well.
Great day out with family. Lot of info to absorb 6+
What an amazing place for large group events. Lots of room and activities to keep everyone engaged with awesome music.
Warning: this place is infested with kids (for good reason). Try going Thursday night if you are an adult.
Like the new location (its been a few years since we've been here). Lots of space and room outside for displays. So many things to play with. It was a busy day when we visited so when I found something interesting usually there was already a "little person" there. And as the "mature adult" you wait your turn. Unfortunately "little people" sometimes don't get the concept of a "line" and you find the "little people" in front of you multiplying. But you wait it out all the same. I recommend the "adults only" sessions on select evenings if you need more "me time". Its a lot of fun either way and sometimes you actually learn something.
So much to do... Such interesting and interactive exhibits. We could have spent days here...
Love this place. I always learn and I always have fun. The employees always seem enthusiastic about their work.
Very educational and lots to see. Not a place to be in a hurry. Great for all ages.
Great place for kids and learning while they are playing. It's a big place and a lot things to do, for ages 3 and up from my point of view. You can learn about electricity, waves and a lot more
Very fun and interesting. A little on the expensive side but a lot of bang for your buck. The last half hour is free. Thats not even close to enough time to experience everything but if you're in town for a few days it's a good way to check it out and see if it's something you would be interested in buying a ticket for the next day.
Interesting and interactive exhibits make this place a gem! Evening events are engaging and the location is convenient. Great gift shop and good priced admissions.
It's very good ...kids can play hands-on , they can explore all the experience and facts . People are friendly .
Awesome spot to visit as a tourist. Lots to do here and it's a space for all ages, not just kids. You definitely need a few hours here though as there is lots to see :)
Lot of fun for kids and adults. The parking lot in front of the Exploratorium has special rates for visitors but is still expensive.
Fun fun fun, lots of fun and an interactive way of learning of all ages...
Very fun but much bettter if you go with a friend or partner
Great place to take kids, also fun for the adults too
Interesting science exhibits and displays. Everything is well designed constructed (thanks to their in museum workshop) and it's a very hands-on experience. There's something for everyone, and there's so many exhibits that you won't be able to see everything in a day. You'll leave with some interesting random science facts that are applicable to your life. I'd recommend arriving early so as to maximize your trip. Have fun exploring!
Interesting to go with curious guys and old enough to touch everything!
Awesome place to bring kids. I spent hours with my family
went on for the weekly 'after-dark' event on thursday and it was super fun. plenty of exhibits, 'lectures', interactive displays, drinks, demonstrations. the space is huge in there so it was able to comfortably house as many people as there were, didn't really feel cramped or overcrowded at all. definitely will want to come back at some point since i wasn't able to see everything there was to offer.
The best and most interactive science museum I have been to. Great for the whole family.
I had lots of fun. I've been with my girlfriend. We liked it a lot.
Great place if you're into science stuff and want some hands on stuff to look at and buy. Most of the prices are fair. I got a puzzle there worth it's value. Just a place to neard out.
The person by the till was very kind to offer us a discount due to our profession, despite us not having ID. A great start! We spent a whole afternoon here and unfortunately didn't finish! This was because of how long we spent at each station. Hours of fun to be had here, would definitely recommend. If you have a chance go here! This was one of the best museums I have ever been to! We spent 4 hours here and felt rushed, you need a full day! I went with my 16 yr old and 14 yr old and we all had so much fun! Highly Recommend!
Lovely place to understand the physics in a much simpler way.
I rather enjoyed my day here. Note that I visited alone on the Community Day for $1.
The venue, naturally, was crowded. The majority of visitors were families with children, so it got rather loud, and many of the activities were being used at a time so it was hard to get to all the attractions. However, this did not impede exploring, because in many cases watching someone else interact with an attraction was enough to understand it or be fascinated by it. There is a lot to do here - maybe even too much for me - and I think a $30 price tag is justifiable if you spend a good bit of time here and go through most of the attractions and perhaps even a short film screening.
It's a interactive and scientific place with varities of things to do. FUN and Educational place specially for young people and young at heart ( parents, teachers and guardians). The entrance is a little pricy so I go here when it's free! There's outside exhibits too that makes it very enjoyable for attendees. Wonderful view of the bay and downtown buildings. And there's a CAFE with reasonable price had the cold combination salad!
Have loved this place since I was a kid! I do miss the old location, but the accessibility of the new location is great. I've always thought of this as the perfect place for a date - so much to do and learn, there's just no way you could get stuck in awkward conversation! Haha. Their exhibits are always interesting and no matter how many times you attempt them, they never ever get old.
Great place for Kids and Adults. Plan to spend at least 6 hours there and eat lunch there as well.
Tons of hands on exhibits for kids, more than can be done in a day. Also nice restaurant (with bar!).
Amazing. I could have spent two full days here. Fantastic place to bring the kids!
A classic for kids of all ages. The cafeteria has a super view on the Bay.
I try to bring my kids at least once a year. The adults have just as much fun!
There's a fun interactive display and games for everyone. Anyone can have fun here just as long as they don't mind the crazy amount of kids running around.
So much fun for people of all ages!!! Very hands on and a fun way of learning things. I have been here twice! Will be going back again one day!
Awesome! Even for a college age kid. Super cool practical demos for many physics and biology concepts that I have only ever seen in theory.
This place is great for all ages, you ll enjoy it if you have a curious mind.
Very educational for children and adults ... a great experience to learn as a family.
So much fun for adults and kids from about 6 upwards
So. Much. Fun. The Exploratorium is basically a massive hall full of things to play with that are all explained by scientific principles. It may sound dry but it's not - I haven't had this much fun at an exhibition in ages, and would hugely recommend to everyone, not just kids. We visited on a Tuesday at 4pm and it was pretty quiet, I never had to wait more than a minute to play with things. The ratio adults to children was about 4:1 but I would imagine on school holidays and weekends that would change pretty drastically. The stop-motion Batman mobile is hilarious and I had so much fun with the slo-mo cameras and heat detectors.
Pro-tip: visit after 3, and you can use the daily ticket again the next day, so you can avoid exhibit fatigue (it kicks in after the 100th or so!) by spreading it over 2 days.
Its a fun place to go to, kid or adult. However its easy to get lost and hard to navigate, which can make it difficult to see everything.
Museum of Technique in the Years. Interactive for All Ages!
This place rocks. Always more to do and see. I could spend more days here than at Disneyland without getting bored.
Great place for children. A lot of hands on science experience.
So much fun! We were there from 5-9pm for summer hours and really, we hardly saw half of the museum. My 8 year old was mesmerised by so many of the exhibits. I can't wait to go back! Highly reccomended!!
Holy crap - great for kids and kids at heart. Skip fishermans wharf and go here for hours of fun and entertainment
Wonderful place to visit, very hands on, and very helpful employees...
Fantastic day of science! I especially enjoyed the outdoor section.
This is such a creative activity center! My husband and I enjoyed all the educational and interactive, scientific stations. We also experienced the tactile dome which was an extremely unique experience. This is a great place for families with adults and kids of all ages!
Go look in the monochromatic room and the mirror that flips you upside down. Good stuff.
Very unique and interactive activities. Wish I had gone earlier to see all the projects. Only got to view for two and half hours. Defenitly kept young kids, teens and adults amused -Very good place to bring children for a whole day's.
This interactive museum is great, you can spend many hours... Even if you are adult and learn in a fun way
Really cool place. Plenty of things to do. We were there for 3-4 hours and I guess the kids could have kept trying stuff for a full day. Not all exhibits are so safe though, for example there is a mirror exibhit with many pointy corners that can easily badly hurt a kid passing by ...
