It is a very Much unmanaged place staff and not Co-operative the yellow taxi charges according to their mood thanks to the ola and uber service at least now you can get a decent amount charged cab they have very limited food joints and those Limited ones also not so good and their stuff so also inexperienced this place is usually crowded during 4:30 p.m. To 9:30 P.M so if you are there to pick up someone drop someone in this meantime then make sure you are at least 30 minute prior to your meantime this have duty free wine shop only at International arrival security checking is little more tight then other airports so Security Check also takes little longer it used to be one of the best airport in olden days but now they have not maintained it and haven't done anything new

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata is an international airport that serves around 85 percent domestic travelers. As India's fifth busiest airport, it handled 19 million passengers in 2017. According to information released by the Airports Council International (ACI) in April 2018, Kolkata is now India's fastest growing airport, with passenger traffic increasing by 27 percent over the previous. Traffic has increased due to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) regional connectivity scheme, which connect 22 underserved airports to major hubs.
While Kolkata airport is presently a major center for flights to Northeast India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China and Southeast Asia, it's hoped that the new terminal will attract more international airlines to service the city. However, the airport is already about to reach its existing capacity of 20 million passengers, necessitating further expansion. This is planned to be undertaken in two parts, involving linking the old airport terminal with the new one and then building a third terminal. This will double the airport's capacity to 40 million passengers by 2021.
The airport has started using solar power, from solar panels installed on the premises, for its day-to-day operations.
Public Transportation and Taxis
The cheapest and most convenient way to get to the city center is to take a government prepaid taxi. These taxi operate 24 hours. There are booking counters inside the terminal is near Gate 3C, and outside the terminal opposite gates 4A and 4B of the arrival level. Further counters are planned to open near near gates 1A and 2. A fare to Sudder Street is about 350 rupees (about $5). Be careful of touts outside the terminal who will direct you to other "luxury" taxi counters, where the fare will be much higher.
There's also a kiosk run by a private operator Mega Cabs, which has cleaner but slightly more costly taxis. They are metered taxis. The driver will give you a receipt at the end of the journey and you'll pay him cash.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport was named after the prominent nationalist leader of the same name and serves the Kolkata metropolitan. It is located in the Dum Dum area, approximately 17 kilometres from the city centre. It is the fifth busiest airport in India that sprawls across an area of 2460 acres. Kolkata airport is often regarded as the fastest growing airport in the country with an annual increase in passenger traffic by 27%. In the year 2014 and 2015, it has been awarded the title of the Best Improved Airport in the Asia-Pacific by the International Airport Council. The main highlight of the CCU airport is the newly designed L-shaped Terminal 2 that has replaced the international and domestic buildings. The new terminal is integrated with smart features and the ambience reflects the true essence of Kolkata.
Airport is clean. It has a lot of shops and carts but a few more carts would be nice. The runway is long and has the least chance of accident. The management is good and there is no sticker checking in the airport.
Good airport. Ground floor is arrival and 1st floor is departure. You can get lift near any gate of arrival to reach departure. You will get any kind of help from airport security or any officials.
Please keep enough time in hand. Get down at Dum DUm metro and hire a cab . Its better. Or from tollygunge metro take AC BUS, but keep enough time in hand. Airport is very far and Traffic Jam may be a big issue. Once you reach Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, its great. well maintained, all amenities are there. trained staff and your will have a pleasant experience.
If you are coming from Delhi, this feels like a deserted airport and departure have almost zero options for spenditure. As in cleanliness and securiit is top notch
Well it's no so good like Mumbai csia airport . Or like Changi airport Singapore . Staffs are very arrogant and very rude way they spoke to people. Bathrooms are very dirty , in ground floor as well and in first floor . There is no sky train arrangements . I am disappointed . There is no direct international flight from Calcutta airport . We have to catch flight from via Delhi , Mumbai or Chennai .
The best thing in this airport is retiring room facility. If you have an onward ticket, you can have a room in retiring facility in a very cheap rate and wait for 24 hours. This is an excellent facility. In other big airports i have seen Airport hotels, but those are costly.
One of much needed upgrades, the new Terminal is huge and is made with State of the art design and provides a completely new outlook to the Kolkata Airport Experience.
Airport with less area ( less to walk ) less crowded ( less waiting time ) little less strict custom and security check easy to pass in compare to others.
This is a nice and clean place. Without international chain restaurants all the foods are a bit expensive specially bars. The bars have almost three times higher than the price outside the airport.
It's not the best airports but the worst part is probably the fact that you still have to screen your check in baggage beforehand ! You have Irish House for pub loving folk! The lounge has mastered access along with a select visa card holders! Food in the lounge was decent!
Its very big airport . Easily accesable all faclities. But not cleaned , washrooms doesnt look like you are in airport it feels you like railway station .
Situated in north kolkata. Taxi, ola, uber, bus all available from airport. Upper level is for departure and lower level for arrival. Prepaid taxi also available. Flights to almost all domestic destinations and few international destinations available. Its a big airport and also expanding.food stalls and food courts also available both outside and inside.
Baggage takes a really , really long time to arrive on the conveyor belt. Some people try to scam you out of money by offering luggage trolleys. There is a taxi mafia operating outside, fleecing passengers new to the city. The apathy of the management is all too apparent. Government not interested in improving conditions and reigning in the rogue guys.
Nice and beautiful domestic and international Airport of eastern India. The connectivity through metro, bus, taxi to any places of Kolkata city are available from here . All prepaid taxi counters are available within the airport. Presently the airport has been renovated & maintaining the cleanness up to the mark. Foodstuffs available in the shops within the airport are also good.

Very Beautiful, neat and clean place . During pandemic situation you have to printout your boarding pass and original copy of aadhar card/ voter card . Security checking is done properly during this time .
Baggage is still v v slow as usual for Kolkata. But all other counters and procedures are swift. All persons try and make the environment safe for all.
The worst airport I have ever been to. their Man's room disappeared . totally 8 spots in the Waiting lounge. the rubbish airport my gate is 14 they block every way
