People were great. Hotel was nice. Got upgraded to a 2 room suite so that was a nice perk of being diamond. Breakfast was good. The happy hour was good. Bed was comfortable, pillows too. Shower water was hot.

UPDATED 11-12-18 (this was a 5 star review)
Thank you for the fake water charge on my company card. Now because a manager is not in I have to stop my busy day and call back tomorrow and hopefully reach them. From there I will need to wait on a new receipt with the redacted water charge. As a Diamond member you don't get charged water for rooms, with the exception of speciality waters...but I don't touch that stuff because, again, on the company card. So now, after I receive my receipt I have to upload it to expensify, then go back to the old charge, delete the old receipt and type an affidavit to explain why there was a water charge on my bill to begin with. I don't know why this is a consistent thing with the Hiltons but you guys really need to get your stuff together. After the false smoking charge at another Hilton this year, (and not being a smoker), these consistent false water charges are making it look real nice to switch to the Marriott chain next year. Averaging 150 nights per year at the Hilton, it's silly to think that $5.46 for water is such a big deal. Well the time and inconvenience that I have to deal with this are worth a lot more than that.

Date of stay : 29 Dec 18, checked out 30 Dec 18

Warm friendly environment with alot of good perks, the evening reception is a great way to relax and actually socialize with other guests and enjoy each others company. I would suggest also that you take full advantage of the breakfast omelettes and buffet, as well as the indoor pool and spa jacuzzi. Its perched in a major transit area with I 35 close and 435, you can get anywhere in kansas off of them, with a free shuttle also you don't even need to worry about getting into your car. They will take you anywhere within 5 miles. Really I couldn't give them enough credit.

We stayed in a newly renovated room which was fantastic and very clean! The Evening reception and breakfast was great. The best part about our stay was the staff! Everyone we encountered was phenomenal-super friendly and helpful.
It was definitely a nice way to start and finish our day!

My family traveled all day. Had a reservation for a king suite here. It was guaranteed with a credit card . We got in at midnight and they overbooked and gave our room away. Sent us to a double tree 5 miles away they said had a similar suit room. They did not Small room with two Queens. Embassy Suite overbooks. Do not trust them!!!!!!!

My parents stayed here for a weekend and loved the hotel so much. we had happy hour with them and it was so much fun. Their room was a suite and it was very nice. They said they will book here when they visit me from now on. Loved it!

Good clean hotel. The pillows were an unexpected benefit as they were very nice for a hotel. Could use some updating and the happy hour food was only chips and salsa. Overall a good place to stay.

We booked thru a 3rd party site and got a decent deal. There was a parking fee, but we figured that the evening reception (light snacks and drinks) and excellent breakfast offset that. The room was great as we love the suite set up to be able to put our 18 mo old down for the night without us all having to go to sleep when she does. Pool was a little small, but perfect for our young kiddos to enjoy. Would definitely stay again!

Stayed here several times. Not a terrible hotel but rooms are starting to show their age. TVs are small. Very frustrated that they charge for Wi-Fi and now they charged $7 a day for parking. I just checked out as their doing construction on their parking lot and still charging people $7/day to park in a shopping store parking lot. WTH? Checked out this morning (one day prior to when I had planned) and they were going to charge me an early departure fee. ENOUGH WITH THE NICKEL AND DIAMONDING on everything. Won't stay here again - too many other hotels in the area that are as nice or much better. Too bad - I'm traveling for the next 4 months in this area and they just lost my business.

Worst experience at an Embassy Suites I've ever had. On arrival, the hotel was 7 rooms overbooked. After multiple calls we were sent to a Hampton Inn ( they did comp this) for the first night and we were to come back the next day. Checked in fine. The next morning was Labor Day and while we were waiting for our son for breakfast at 0930, most of the buffet was put up and the ckueless restaurant staff said it closed at 0900. I pointed out the holiday breakfast buffet hours that went through 1030 but this really did nothing. Manager just referenced trying to get ahold of the restaurant manager and basically nothing was remedied. It is inexcusable that the stff is so poorly trained / informed. This is an integralpart of this hotel's brand experience. Poor information, poor recovery for a hotel that is apparently slipping. shame.

This hotel was close by to family we were visiting near by. All of the staff upon arrival and departure were very kind and through. The staff during breakfast kept everything well stocked and the chefs making made to order breakfast were kind and accommodating to all ordering food. The only area that needs some improvement is the rooms/furniture. The door to the bathroom did not close fully and when it did it stuck and was very difficult to open-- a new door would solve this. In addition the furniture was dated and a bit beat up-- again updated/removal/replacement would do the room good. Lastly-- when taking a shower you could hear the pipes in the wall shaking, but the water pressure and everything was fine. Overall good stay for a couple of weeknights but would benefit with updating.

Disappointed in my stay at a Hilton Hotel. Ants in the bathroom & coffee bar areas. Mold around the tub and dust on the door & shelves of the vanity. Very noisy until 2am. Desk staff were attentive to my concerns and adjusted my room rate but I will think twice about staying at this particular hotel until planned renovations are done.

My wife and I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Overland Park while I attended Kansas City Developer Conference. They were very accommodating, working with us to set up to back-to-back reservations so we could stay through the weekend on a separate credit card without having to move rooms. The service was generally very good, although the breakfast gets a little less wonderful towards the end of the period, but that's to be expected with a buffet style meal (the omelets are always wonderful, though). The room was clean and very nice, and I'm sure we'll be back.

Rooms could use some updating, but all the staff is amazing! I travel a lot for work and have stayed here for years. The location is wonderful, happy hour and bar staff are terrific and the breakfast, including the breakfast staff are warm and friendly. I definitely recommend!

Overall it is ok, we had booked with the sofa set up for the kids - did not happen. The extra bedding bag was empty. So we pretty much had to wait for everything. We paid extra for some things that ended up never having. Like using the drinks and snacks but our fridge stayed empty.

Although I normally love Embassy Suites (even had my wedding at one), this one is in great need of a remodel.
The room: Our original room had a broken air conditioning that couldn't be fixed. Our new room the air conditioning didn't work at all in the one bedroom, which we approached the front desk multiple times with no luck. At over 90 degrees most days this lead to a very hot room. The carpet was peeling at the edges. The kitchen sink leaked everywhere anytime we used it. There was no cold water in any of our bathrooms, only very hot. The most concerning however was on our last morning I woke to wallpaper pealing off the wall exposing a lot of black mold. Very scary considering we had just spent 6 nights in this room with our young toddlers.
The hotel: Ice machines on all floors didnt work most days. The pool was ok, small but decent. It seemed to be quite cold on our last few days as well as the hot tub almost like warm. Maybe an issue with the heating? The bathroom in the pool was out of order the entire week we were here. The hot tub appeared to have a milky/cloudy appearance. So much that I felt uncomfortable being in it.
Food: Breakfast was ok, one of the breakfast ladies, Veronica, was amazing and very attentive. The cocktail hour pretty much had the same food every single day, veggies and dip, chips and salsa, and stale animal cookies.
One other issue was at check in we were simply handed our keys. The gentleman checking us in didn't describe anything about the hotel, didn't notify us on breakfast or cocktail hours, and didn't give us any drink tickets.
Unfortunately I wouldn't come back to this location, not at least until a major remodel happens.

The two men at the front desk didn't seem to be surprised when dishes were still dirty from the dishwasher, or that the snacks were not replenished on time or at all, or that there were no towels at the pool (which opened late). I think they are very understaffed which makes me worry about DOL/OSHA violations. It was clear they were having their cleaners and kitchen staff have to do more work than is appropriate. It's frustrating because we really like the Hilton brand. I let front desk know my concerns each time something came up. I was nice about it but it doesn't seem they will change.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! The new management is RACIST, and does not practice the fair employment act. There's been a change in management within the last couple of months, that's been firing employees left and right and accusing them of different things. A friend of mine was recently fired one year exactly before retirement, after serving 15+ years in this hotel. The new management judges people based on color, age and gender.

I have stayed in a lot of hotel rooms over the years. Either the shower wasnt working or they need an instruction manual to operate it. I would assume that the handle needs to be turned to get water and that didn't happen (nor did the sliding lever on the bottom of the shower). So I will give the shower experience a big fat 0. I generally like water available when taking a shower and am not about to call maintenance when I have to rush out the door because who has time for that. Otherwise the room was fine, I slept well, and the room was quiet (rm 721). Breakfast was the usual for this brand, but due to several people in line I didn't wait for the made to order omelettee (again, time).

First no TV in bedroom which wasn't a big deal at that time. I saw someone who said they would check it out and he did. Then I took a shower and the water didn't drain. Even though it is my dirt I just don't like standing in it. But this was the dagger. Room service came as I was finishing getting dress and about to leave and I asked if she could come back in about 30 minutes. Maybe she said yes or maybe she said no I was under the impression she would. Well I returned to find my room as I left it. I might expect more then I get all the time but most places I have good experiences other then in this area. Back in May I stayed downtown and wasn't pleased. I stayed in Lawrence on this trip and it was diasterious and now here. Maybe it's just how things are done in Missouri and Kansas

Waited over twenty minutes to check in while the one group in front of me occupied all of their front desk staff. Room was a little dingy and worn and had a large carpet stain. In the bathroom the shower faucet leaked and gurgled non stop, and smelled of mildew when I arrived. Someone had left a hairball in the soap dish for me to discover. Workout facilities were nice, and a burger I ordered from the bar was quite good. I wasn't disturbed by any noises at night. Currently undergoing needed renovations.

- Room service hung up on me 5x
- Housekeeping left a note they did not change the bed bc the door was closed.
- Outdated. Everything.

Stayed here several times over the years. Always been happy in the past. This time is very different. We paid extra to a bump to the 'Premium Floor'. I used to be an HHonors Diamond member and was just used to this treatment. This floor is no different than others as far as I can tell. In fact, our room was pretty run-down. Ripped curtains, torn chairs, and a bedroom door that was bent and completely unusable. The 'Premium' vending machines stayed empty. Didn't help that half the hotel was a youth soccer group this stay. They ran up and down the walkways on every floor yelling across the atrium at each other while chaperones and hotel management did nothing. Sleep was impossible. I complained to management and was offered compensation, but a few hotel points does not make my sleep magically restful or the stress disappear. Am I supposed to use those points to stay at a place where I was completely dissatisfied? We'll be finding a new hotel to stay in for our next visit to the Kansas City area.

I m not quite sure how this place has a 4 star rating. I can see where at one time it was probably a really nice place to stay, and the staff that I met were very kind and as helpful as possible. However, getting booked into the same room as someone else (and walking into that room with the people in it), getting booked into a second room that had not been cleaned ( literally someone else s poop and pee in the toilet), and then noticing that the entrance they were making people come through was not secure and literally anyone and everyone was coming in and out of that area (it was not in front of the front desk so no one would see who is coming in and out) makes this hotel almost the worst I ve ever been to. We literally checked in and within an hour checked out... don t stay here unless you enjoy lots and lots of germs and not feeling secure.

This used to be a great hotel but it is horrible now. There are no friendly greeters at the elevators. The front desk staff is rude and unhelpful. The room was dirty. They charge for parking in an open parking lot and I did not see a security person when I went running at 430am. We will not be staying here again.

Location needs a serious update. Checked in to room to only find bed bugs, ants and roaches. Dust everywhere you look. Time to renovate to save the hilton brand. Would never come to this embassy again. I didn't even mention the customer service smh. Time for a change asap

We will not stay here again. The rooms need a deep clean and some updating. The elevators are slow despite there only being 7 floors. The pool is tiny and overcrowded. We stayed during spring break. The breakfast area closed at 9:00 am. There were many families still eating and they were locking the cabinets. The front desk area doesn t have coffee out past 9:00 am either. This place is not worth the money. Save yourself some headaches and choose to stay elsewhere.

Staff gets 5 stars. Rooms ( I saw they are going to remodel) get about a 3 star. Beds are very hard. Not enough plug ins but the sweet lady at the desk gave us a power strip. Rooms are clean just old. Very convenient location. Food was pretty good and not bad prices.

The Embassy Suites was a great hotel! My stay was comfortable and cozy, and I enjoyed it a lot.

First the staff was pretty nice. I didn't interact with them a lot, aha. However they had a text thing where they would text you if you needed questions. It was really neat! They answered all my questions and quickly too.

Their breakfast was the best breakfast I've had in a hotel. They kept it warm and made more when food was running low. The quality was basic but it has to be to appeal to everyone's taste buds. You have to wake up really early to get a spot and not wait in line!

I had a one-room suite and it was amazing. It was gorgeous, big, and comfortable. The little kitchen corner was also a nice fit! The bed was super comfortable and warm. Slept like a baby.

One thing though is my room had a broken window; not too terribly but it was enough for snow to come in (I stayed during a snowstorm). The bed kept us warm but the room in general was always cold because of it. Before I left the girl at the front desk asked me about my stay and I told her this. She seemed genuinely concerned and told me she would tell her staff.

Literally everything else about this stay was perfect. I would seriously give it a 6/5 stars but that broken window ruined it. But I doubt all the windows are like that! So I would honestly recommend this place.

I went to sleep at 5am. I woke up feeling like something was crawling on me and when I got up at 11 I have itchy bite marks up and down my left arm, back, legs. Reported it to the manager Ryan who was super friendly and suggested the bites look more like flea bites than bed bugs...either way I'm creeped out and wouldnt stay at this location again.

The staff the night before and everyone I dealt with was highly courteous but I'm disappointed and creeped out nonetheless

Very nice aesthetic in rooms and lobby, and the breakfast was quite nice. I find it ridiculous to have a bottle of water in here that we can't even drink without paying $5+, and I don't feel it was a necessary addition, and comes off as something to fool people who aren't very attentive. Minor complaints, overall nothing severe.

Location was very close to surrounding attractions, rooms were clean. Indoor pool was on the small side, buy wouldve been fine if there werent multiple soccer/softball teams staying during tournaments. Enjoyed the stay and ammenities. Food was top notch.

This embassy suites claims it's getting renovated this summer I really hope they work on their AC for the restaurant and bar area. It's so hot and humid down there it's tough to sit down there. Also paying for parking is absurd here. They do offer a complimentary shuttle to anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. I didnt use that service. They did have the best snacks during their open bar time too of any embassy I stayed at on this trip. Rooms were clean and comfy. I wish they had bigger cups for breakfast and a few more options too.

Without a doubt the best Hilton location in the Overland Park area. The biggest negatives about the hotel are its aged infrastructure, you can tell it's old, and very poor room air conditioning (even putting the AC on 60 only results in moderate cooling) The positives are the rooms themselves being decently modern, above average TV, good Hilton bed, quiet in the bedrooms away from the center, noticeably friendly staff. Fairly easy to get an upgrade if you have status. Linens and towels were average as expected. General room cleanliness is slightly before average. I didn't have a chance to grab breakfast or attend the happy hour, but I'm sure it was standard Embassy affair. Overall solid, have been back.

Wow, clearly this hotel is not been upgraded in a long time. My room looked ancient, with a random electrical socket in the center of the floor, a very old chair and footstool, desks with legs damaged, and a bathroom that clearly has not been updated in over a decade. This is easily the worst Embassy suites I've been to in the last four years, and I am a Hilton honors Gold Member.

Service was fine, which accounts for the 2 stars. .
