Embassy Suites Review

Great experience. The staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the happy hour drinks were amazing.

Great customer service and we got bumped up to a larger room after finding out the room they put us in wasn t what we expected. Great breakfast, which is typical for Embassy Suites. This hotel does need some updating. The hallway floor was uneven in some areas, I noticed a railing connected by zip ties and the bathroom in our room was very outdated. Overall a great stay, just need to update the building.

Stayed for one night as they hosted a group of our show choir high schoolers. Nice rooms. There are little extra charges for everything: "Drink this water bottle for only a $5 charge to your room." The pool area was smaller than expected, though the perfect size for young children. The breakfast was wonderful. They have an excellent dining layout and they accomodated us by opening the breakfast hours early so we could get our group out the door on time.

Entire building in dire need of an update. Front desk staff polite as was the bartender but the rest of the staff seemed to hate their jobs.

One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was the fact that it has a hot tub. Huge disappointment when we found it was not working! My daughter and I stepped into the lukewarm water and got right back out - critical safety issue! The water in the pool was cloudy and did not appear clean. When I mentioned something at checkout, the gal just told me she didn t know the hot tub wasn t working.
I was surprised to find that renovations are underway. I thought that was usually posted on the website. We were located on the third floor, just below the floor where work was being done. We were unable to sleep in on our vacation due to the noise.
The breakfast was not up to the usual Embassy Suites meal we normally have.
However, the staff was very friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the rooms were clean.
We only stay at Hilton hotels and Embassy Suites are our favorite. I hope once renovations are done, this one is back to the Hilton standards.

Stopped in to examine the facility for our stay with a large group in June. Very nice in appearance, cleanliness and amenities.

Stayed here a few years ago. Rooms were clean. The indoor pool is nice and deep. Breakfast is great and the staff was pleasant. I would stay here again. It was around Thanksgiving so. I'm not sure if that's. Why the price was low but it was very reasonable.

Toilet has leaks, smell in the room, one working elevator. Lucky to get 2

I have stayed here multiple times and I absolutely love it. The cooked to order omelettes are amazing, and I enjoyed the gym size and the pool. The entire layout of the hotel is gorgeous. By far the best hotel I have stayed at.

This is one of the best places to stay in OP.
Everything was so clean, the rooms have a sticker on the door letting you know that no one has been in the room after it was cleaned. We pulled out the sofa sleeper it was clean even under it. The indoor pool was open and we were alone everytime we used it. I am so impressed with this hotel.
The kids did not mind the sofa bed it was a thicker mattress than you generally have on a sofa sleeper. Staff was friendly

Woke up my legs filled with bites on my legs frm what appears to be bedbugs

Front desk was nice, however the room wreaked of mildew,old bathroom smell that someone tried covering up with strong dollar general store perfume. The smell was bad enough we left and stayed somewhere else sorry for the bad review, but it was really bad

Upon arrival, was notified of a $7 parking fee. There's no garage or special parking; just a fee to park your car in their lot. The cable tv has not been working all night. I called to front desk and was told they use satellite, so it doesn't work when it's raining hard. Great, since it's supposed to be storming for our entire stay. Room service took over an hour when we were told it would be 20 minutes. Then, arrived with cold food and no flatware. It's a good thing the bed is comfy or this would be a total loss!

Pros: Desk staff and bar staff were great!

Cons: Really dated, air conditioner didn't work right, tub wouldn't drain right, bedroom door wouldn't shut, hot tub was broken....Just not what was expected out of an Embassy Suites or what was paid for.

Clean, quiet and maybe a little bit quirky--rooms have a front room, then a back room where the beds are. I know this sounds stupid but the odd shape of the place reminds me of the luxor in Las Vegas. Nice atrium, hot breakfast and chips & guac during the evening reception happy hour thing. Try the cookies with the brownish glaze on them, they are amazing!

This place is very loud. The atrium makes all noises boom and kinda echo. When the loud heater turns on in the room the noise from outside the room can still be heard. Things finally quieted down after 12am. The room is either cold or hot depending on if the heater is on. The wall paper is peeling. The ceiling looks like it has had several leaks and poor fixes. The caulking around the toilet is mildewy, and should be replaced immediately. I did not take a picture of that, it was too gross. The TV is very small and does not have any channels because their service is down. They have very slow internet. The decor is in definite need of an update. The person who cleans the room woke us up at 8 am trying to clean the room. We were sleeping and had not slept well because the bed is unreasonably hard and uncomfortable. Also, you have to pay for parking in there parking lot. What's that all about??? They do have a breakfast that comes with the room. Although the bacon is mostly very thinly sliced over fried strips of fat, no meat. BTW, I LOVE bacon! It's hard to ruin bacon. They managed to come very close! No, I couldn't eat it it was too crumbly. They have an exercise room. Both treadmills did not work. Would I want to come back, no. I will say this, if all you need is a cheap place to land and nothing else matters, this would exceed your expectations. If you're needing more and decor, a comfortable bed, quietness, cleanliness matters or you are trying to celebrate something, probably not a good idea to come here.

Last night room service was horrible. Tonight loud party and drinking in bar area continued after midnight even after being assure d by desk quiet time rules would be enforced. I want a refund.

This Embassy Suites should set the standards for others to acheive. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who will make you feel welcomed. Breakfast is real breakfast not just danishes, made to order omelets. Plus reception makes the stay that much more enjoyable

It's an old hotel but has all the amenities you'd expect at an Embassy Suites. The gym is awful so if that's important stay somewhere else.

Friendly staff. Clean appearing room. Nice happy hour and breakfast. UNFORTUNATELY HIUSEKEEPING LEFT A NASTY TOILET BRUSH IN BAR SINK. INCHES AWAY FROM COFFEE CUPS, COFFEE POT, SNACKS...you get the idea. The brush should not have been near that sink. Made us wonder just how clean the room really was. The rest of the stay was nice.

The hotel itself was mostly clean. It was definitely older and you could tell. But overall a decent stay. At check in the clerk was all by himself and was very clearly stressed out. Felt rushed through the process, and kind of like an inconvenience. The room was alright. A bit tiny for a "king suite" but still, bed was clean, my request for feather free was met. The carpet could use an update felt/looked dirty even though it was clean, was just old. Breakfast was cold and my omelet was gross (grill wasnt clean I could taste other peoples toppings) but it is free. And then at checkout we noticed a spill in the elevator. We stopped at the front desk to check out and turned in our keys and he was the same guy as check in didnt bother to look up from what he was working on to tell us have a great day or anything, I asked for a receipt and was interrupted to be rudely told that it would be emailed to me. Fine, whatever. I then took time out of my day to give him the courtesy of letting him know there was a spill in the elevator and was again interrupted to be told he already knew. Like I was bothering him, letting him know about a potential danger of someone slipping. As there was no wet floor sign, no one cleaning it up, we saw housekeeping on the floors so not sure if they knew about it why it wasnt being taken care of. I get he was by himself and having managed hotels, know how stressful it can be. But you dont take it out on your paying customers, and make them feel like an inconvenience, maybe make some eye contact. Especially if your name tag says front desk supervisor. The hotel itself was decent and the staff was congenial other than the front desk supervisor. Kinda put a sour taste in our mouth at check out.

We were on the premium floor. The room was nice. The was a youth sitting event in town so the hotel was a bit loud and the vending machine was empty. Also, we could hear the people in the room next to us when we were trying to go to sleep.

Hotel was nice, missed the infamous apples all hiltons have, soon to have a full remodel

The premium room was nice and included free snacks and drinks but we found a ant every twenty minutes.

The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice and professional. I wish there was a limit on how many children that can be in one room so that we could use the pool. But the remodeled rooms and staff made up for the full pool.

Pros - Great front desk reception. Great room service. Meal delivered promptly and professionally. Meal tasty and hot. Location a plus. Facility clean, warm and receptive.

Stayed in executive suite. Room clean and spacious.

Cons - noise from bottom level penetrates door on 7th floor of suite. Entertainment system a dud. Poor quality TV's. No HD when ordered movie. Bed is on the hard side. Vending machines empty.

Desperately needs the planned renovation in August 2019. Rooms are clean but dated and have a stale feel and smell. Air conditioner needs maintenance as it makes annoying clicking sounds. One of two treadmills broken. Hot tub out of service.

Worst Embassy suites ever stayed in. Embassy Suites is usually my favorite hotel, but this one discriminates against the handicapped. My wife whose knees don't bend, wasn't given an accessable room, because they gave them to people who weren't handicapped. A clear violation of the ADA laws. We were the only ones in the handicapped parking outside. On top that they put us in a room that didn't meet Embassy Suites standards. It was a single room that looked like it was from a Motel 6 or something.

Worst Embassy Suites ever. Allowed vomit to remain on bathroom floor for two hours after notified. Rude to youth softball player who brought a Subway newish to eat. Staff generally poor, and rude.

This hotel definitely needs a major renovation. As of December 2019 the hotel is dirty, run down, outside has garbage all over the place and the room would be a disgrace for a budget motel.

Good news! The hotel is going to be renovated in 2020. Kind of a mixed bag here; if you stayed, as I did, prior to renovation then this place is a dump. If the hotel is renovated and you stay after the renovation, then ignore this review.

The last thing I will say is this; how is this still a Hilton property? Are there no standards that properties must maintain to wear the Hilton badge? The major renovation probably should have taken place 3 or 4 years ago as I can't imagine that this hotel was pristine and nice recently. When I book a hotel I like to stay with Hilton or Marriott as you typically know that you will get a clean room with nice amenities, especially and Embassy Suites. This place was a huge disappointment.

Parents were upgraded to a fantastic suite and accommodations were great! There is a dinnertime snack and drink area for guests and location is convenient.

Live staying at embassy. This one was not as friendly as some. Bartender a grumpy lady.

Clean but very small pool. They offered an upgrade over the phone but when we arrived this room did not exist. Bad customer service.

Great experience with a friendly and welcoming staff. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. Really good breakfast buffet with cooked to order omelets included in the rate. Also, "happy hour" for 2 hours every evening with free drinks and some snacks. Good location with access to expressways into KC.

Awful. Rooms out dated furniture torn. Just not what I expected. Motel was better

The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. This hotel is aging and it showed. Plumbing system made hurling noises from all seasons when the shower was running. Woodwork was chipped. Lighting was dark in the rooms. TV remote was broken.

I stayed at this location during a business trip. One morning I left my room at 630am and I put up the Do Not Disturb sign. When I returned at 8am there was a key on a lanyard on my bathroom floor that had not been there when I left which made me nervous as someone had clearly been in my room. In a hurry to get to a meeting and needed to get ready so I secured the latch on the door before I jumped in the shower. While in the shower someone started knocking on the door. I got out to see who it was but they had walked away so I returned to the shower. When I got out a few minutes later I looked at the door again and the latch was pushed forward as if someone had tried to enter the room. This made me extremely uncomfortable.

On my way out I spoke with the gentleman at the front desk so that I could return the key. I was told there was a maintenance issue but it seems that it might be courteous to call and/or leave a message at least to let me know that someone needed to enter the room so that I would not be alarmed, especially since the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door.

After emailing with Kia the manager, the best she could offer me was an apology. In one email I was told there was a leak in the room above me, in another the leak was in the room below me. Additionally, the key that was left was likely a master key that would have allowed me access to other rooms.

I would not recommend this location if your security is important to you since it is clearly of no value to them.

Decent drink selection and excellent bartenders. Hopefully you stay here when Stacie works.

Food and beverage manager Ryan is a great guy. Very professional and alert to details.

My room weirdly enough didn't have a closet. Was supplied low on towels. No TV channels worked the first night of the stay.
Breakfast was good. The location is right of interstate so quick jump to wherever. Rooms are okay. I'd recommend staying downtown (Marriott) or crown plaza before here though. If you need to stay in overton park - Sheridan is best spot.

It's a nice Embassy Suites located pretty much to everything. The hotel staff was friendly the free breakfast was pretty good. The room was clean it all feels a little dated though.

Solid experience. Traveling for business.
- Clean, big rooms (mine was a king suite)
- decent beds
- good breakfast with an omelet bar included
- Friendly staff
- clean, nice common areas

All in all I will stay again next time I'm in Overland Park.

I was at a meeting. It was very clean, everyone went out of their way to make visit very nice.

We always stay at Hilton hotel when traveling. This has been one of our worst stays. Normally things are great. This time the room we reserved had maintenance issues and they moved us to the third floor (we wanted 6th) right by the elevators and right above the hotel entrance. We heard the smokers outside all night and the noisy hallway from being at the elevators and ice machine. When we got to our room our fridge had food in it from the people before us. I'm giving 4 stars because they're usually great. Based on this stay alone I'd give much less.

The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have asked them to be any niceror more helpful. From the moment I walked in before I reached the desk, they were treating me like royalty. They truly wanted me to enjoy my stay. I rented a premium king suite. I loved having ample room to stretch out, be comfortable and make myself at home. I didn't feel like I was in a hotel room. I will say the room was a little tired, but they know this. That is why they will be rennovating very soon. I won't complain about it because it is very clean. It's nice to stay where u don't need to leave for dinner or a beverage. The weather got pretty bad which

My experience here at Embassy Suites was the Best by far the ladies and I were in our presidential suite which was very very nice two big bedrooms with king size beds I'll pull out king size bed in the living room two bathrooms beautiful big spacious living area dining area and bar area the atmosphere was set just right the bartenders and the cooks we're very nice happy hour from 5 to 7 is a real treat I actually had a ball if you love to swim or just sit in the jacuzzi you can do that too just love the way it has its own privacy area and the breakfast the next morning was very very enticing and very good the service was excellent all around I would give this place 10 Stars but you only ask for 5 I would highly recommend coming here for anyone who's traveling and need a nice place to rest and relax or just want to do something different for the weekend great place for anything that you want to do!!!

Nice clean room. Room had an odd faint odor upon entry that went away shortly after we arrived. Spacious two room suite with standard ammeneties. Friendly staff.

We normally love staying at the embassy suites. This one was not that great. The pool was nasty the water was so cloudy and there was little to NO chlorine in the pool. The breakfast was ok but disappointed in the fact in the book it says breakfast is over at 10:30am but was really over at 10am.

Good rooms. Breakfast and happy hour worth the extra cost.

I have to give this star but i don't want to.....Horrible, my first introduction to this experience was though the staff. I called to see if i could check in early, i got a quick no and hung up on. Mind you i had already paid to check in early and picked my room through the app. Upon arrival i was greeted by a hugh sign 7.00 for parking and we are under construction. Checked in and yes i informed the front desk i was hung up on before arrival by one of there staff. Already opened the door to a very dated room, decades of stains in the carpet, chip furniture, and oh lets not forget half the furniture was missing from my room. I guess your wondering how would i know what was missing because we came with a part of friends who all had the same size suites and after visiting all who have arrive we played the game of wheres waldo of missing items in your room. Moving forward in the evening my husband and I enter the elevator me first as he started walking right behind me. The elevator door began to close on him while he us entering he tried to step back to move out of the way his foot got caught in the track and fall backward in to the lobby floor, the manager was informed i guess the maintenance man had him write a statement on blank sheet of paper. The manager never came out to see if he was okay or anything. That morning was the icing on the cake, breakfast cooked by a cook clearly hating his job an over easy omelet cut it open running with uncooked eggs. This what i was served on a dirty plate. So no breakfast I pass, okay off to shower and leave, well can't do that because the tub is now backed up. Im done we checked out. Never ever to return book at your own risk!!!!

Kid friendly and adult friendly. They had my room ready even though I arrived in the middle of the night.

I got charged for a broken shower handle that was broken BEFORE we checked in. I told the staff during our stay, not only did they not fix the issue, but they put the blame back on me for something that I did not do. Will not recommend, very unprofessional.

We had a wonderful stay and the staff was awesome. They checked on us to see how everything was going and answered any questions right away. The breakfast was superb and custom made to order. It was very delicious.

Pretty good so far, not the newest place, but well kept. Great breakfast and the Happy hour is top notch.

Amazing hotel! Great, friendly service. Comfortable sleeping and spotless. Managers reception was nice and breakfast was really good. I will most definitely stay here whenever I'm in the Kansas City area!
