Hotel was great, rooms for great. There was complimentary happy hour. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact that they force you to valet and the cost is $28 a night is a little bit ridiculous.

Could be a great hotel, Embassy Suites usually are, but this one is in disrepair, views are of some alley, and the free breakfast is closed so they give you vouchers to Starbucks but the vouchers have alot of limitations.

There also is no food service to the room or cleaning service during your stay and the on site restauranti is closed. The pool was open but the bathrooms were filthy with liquor bottles on the floor.

This building is a construction zone. On a Sunday morning they were jackhammering, the whole place is a mess. The staff at the front desk, while checking in about 8 at night, was courteous and efficient. When trying to check out the next day, there was a wait for a luggage cart, we were fine waiting but a total of 2hrs later and still no cart. I called downstairs to make sure they had requested one for me the lady said "there is a long wait and you are on the list" with an annoyed tone. I asked if she could tell me about how many ppl were ahead of me on the list she said "No I can't. I don't have access to the list. I'll put you in again." And she ended the call. It was extremely rude. I also would like to ask how she knew I was "on the list" if she couldn't see the list. It turned out a ship had been delayed for boarding at port and they got swamped. But instead of telling us that so we could plan our time accordingly and find an alternate way to get all of our stuff downstairs, in multiple trips on the slowest elevators I have ever had the displeasure of using, she let us hang around waiting for two hours. By the time we finally left the hotel it was 1 o'clock. Check out was at 11. The construction was extremely loud and and continued even on a Sunday. Bc of the construction, the breakfast area was moves to a small conference room on the second floor. IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST BREAKFAST I HAVE EVER HAD. The only things we could all agree on being semi-edible were the potatoes covered in ketchup, the prepackaged yogurt and the coffee. The only reason I left two stars was for the other staff that wasn't the front desk. The cleaning crew and bellboys (once he got a break to come assist with our stuff). Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, at least until construction ends.

Great

I ve never stayed at such a bad hotel in my life. ...

I ve never stayed at such a bad hotel in my life. I initially booked a 4-night stay in a double bed room. When I arrived, they had me in a king and said they had no double rooms available until Friday. I was annoyed, but since I didn t need the double beds until then, I let it go. However, they also wouldn t reserve it in advance and told me I had to check in each day to see if they could reserve it. Incredibly annoying as it left it to chance on whether they d honor what I initially booked.

The first room (king bed, 20th floor) was very nice. On Friday night, I switched into the new room. I couldn t switch until after 10 p.m. because of a work event so I moved all my stuff over and immediately went to bed. The room (20th floor) was definitely not as nice and needed an upgrade. During the night, I felt like something was crawling on me, but I was so tired I went back to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, I noticed ants were EVERYWHERE. All over the carpet, kitchen/bathroom floors, the desk, on the bed it was disgusting. Because I had to rush to a work meeting, I couldn t even resolve it so my guest had to switch my rooms out for me.

The last room (10th floor) had clearly never been fixed, upgraded or properly cleaned. The cabinets were chipped, and corners of the room had dirt/hair in it. I found a piece of trash on the bathroom floor, a giant (and really nice) bracelet on the bedroom floor, and a black pin on the floor we could have stepped on and gotten hurt. The couch had a gross, crusty white stain on it too. This clearly showed me they didn t properly clean the room.

A few other things:

-I asked housekeeping on two separate occasions for some things and they NEVER showed up! I had to grab a tissue box from a random cart on another floor and a shower cap from the front desk. What s the point of housekeeping!?
-I noticed people who ordered room service would leave their dishes in the hallway for pickup and a day later they were still sitting there.
-This hotel has 4 elevators and one was broken during a weekend where they were hosting students for a large college graduation. Guests had to wait 10-15 minutes for elevators every single time.
-I am pretty sure the thermostats are just for show. In one room, I set it to 70 and the morning showed it was 66. In another room I set it to 70 and the morning showed 74.
-There is a lot of construction occurring. On one of the mornings they started construction at 6 a.m. I was up anyways for work, but I can imagine how annoying that is for guests on vacation and still asleep.
-On my first night there, I was going to order room service until I noticed a 25% markup ridiculous especially since their restaurant is closed due to construction.
-We are Hilton Honors members and our status includes free bottles of water. We were never given any and was directed to the $3.95 bottles in the room.

The only thing this hotel did right was the free breakfast in the morning and happy hour in the evening. It was a nice selection for both. It also has a nice location near the boardwalk and a skywalk to the convention center. I would not stay here ever again.

I've been to many Embassy Suites but I'll say this one is unique in beauty!! As soon as you walk in, you see how beautiful and up-scale it is! Great foyer. Great views. Several restaurants on site. Managers reception was very well organized and crowds controlled. On top of all of this, is a short walk to the Amelia Arena & the Florida Aquarium!! We would def be back!!

While this hotel is highly convenient to the convention center, there are many items that need improvement. 1. The breakfast buffet is decent, but very limited. 2. I reported a maintenance issue (the door handle was separating from the door itself) that was not repaired. 3. The restaurant: HIGHLY overpriced for food that is mediocre at best. OK, it's a hotel restaurant which comes at a premium due to the convenience, but that's no excuse to use yellow cheese sauce instead of cheese or to use fatty meat. There are plenty of restaurants that deliver for 1/2 the price, use them.

The Marriott is directly across the courtyard and about 50 feet further from the doors to the convention center. Try them instead.

What kept them from getting 1 star? THE STAFF is VERY friendly!

Go somewhere else. On a four day stay they totally missed cleaning my room one day and had episodes of partial cleaning and not replacing glasses, coffee, and towels on the other days. Trash was stacked up around the garbage can before they finally got to it.

After complaining 4 times they reimbursed me about $100 off of a $1,300 tab. I expect more out of this company and will never stay at one again.

This is a great hotel with modern rooms and easy access to downtown. Would recommend for work or family travel. The conference suites are great for meetings, having a privacy door for the sleeping area and a spacious conference table. Would be nice to have electric outlets near the conference table.

Overall the hotels very nice the rooms are pretty clean and well accommodating. Out one major problem was that in one night we saw two whole roaches. Maybe it s because we are by the water but we know that we didn t bring them in so they were already in the room, both were killed but that s such a major inconvenience that it kind of makes u uneasy, hoping that we don't track anything back home especially since we brought our gaming system.

Welcoming environment with comfortable spacious rooms. Excellent location downtown and just a few feet awaway from the trolley. I can here for work, and I have been extremely pleased with hotel layout and friendly staff.

Mold and puke stained carpet! Ask me for the photos! Slop hole hotel that owes me my money back. They ignore me

Do NOT stay here and avoid Hilton properties until they take action to improve/save their brand

Rooms are okay, otherwise the hotel is just meh. Elevators are slow, breakfast is sub par and too busy, same with the evening happy hour deal. If you need to stay downtown, try the full service Marriott which is 100 yds away.

Rooms were clean, spacious but the rooms open into a central atrium. On the two nights I was at the hotel, there was a convention with college kids. The noise conducted perfectly up from the bar area to my room at midnight each night.

I want to believe that I give accurate reviews and I understand that covid happened. But this place forgot Customer service. Its 10-25-2020 1am there air is off and no body cares. Dont come confirm at least the the AC WORKS. Valet is 1 guy poor guy he's the best with what he has. No corporate back up. I couldn't take a pic while packing but a 10,13,19 and a wife packing doesn't look good at 1am with a 3 hour drive in front of them. To make it worse since we left in a hurry we left cloth in closet and this people don't answer

Clean comfortable room, friendly staff

Clean comfortable room, friendly staff
Comfortable bed and nice pillows.
Sofa is comfortable, spacious area with table to eat or use as a desk.
Free breakfast was very good with lots of choices.
Manager free drink was great, was able to talk to several of the guest for dinner ideas.

From the valet to the towels, this place has been spectacular. Even during an Anime convention they don't skip a beat. This would've been a five star review but my only gripe was with the TV in the gym with no reception...

If you've ever stayed at an Embassy before, you shouldn't expect anything but the norm. Good service. Good restaurant. Although the managers receptions have been lacking anything g other than chips and pretzels.

2nd floor cross walk over to the convention center. Starbucks on the first floor. Rooms are nice with electric shades. I'll definitely continue to stay here next time I have a conference.

Deplorable, STAY ELSEWHERE. Hotel staff lied about degree of construction prior to arrival. Took over an hour each to check in and out. Room furniture was in poor condition. Bugs found in bed. Lobby is open to the entire hotel and is clearly a free for all until all hours of the night. When called at 11pm and again at 1am, hotel staff said they have no noise policy and told us to deal with it. Hardly the anticipated response from a self designated, falsely advertised, family friendly hotel. Employees ignored the do not disturb sign on door and entered our room with my wife in the bathroom and my baby sleeping in the living room. Hotel manager Damir Sejdic assured me he would compensate me for our horrible experience, but he did not follow through on his promises and has stopped responding to emails. Poor quality from the top down. Save yourself the hassle and book somewhere else, anywhere else.

We arrived at 3:00 pm and were told that our room would not be ready for awhile. At 5:00 pm we ordered some thing from the bar restaurant , after 40+ minutes . I got my French Dip with a burnt bun. We finally got our room at 6:30. We had a concert to attend at 7:00. We were a bit late; Because of the wait for our food and the timing of the room availability, we missed the complimentary drinks. I know there was a religious conference the ( I have nothing against religion ) so the bar had few customers and the tips were minimal. That does not excuse some of the attitude. I blme local management for not having enough staff to prepare the rooms for the next tenants.

Everything has been great! The breakfast was amazing. The location to the convention centre was awesome as they even have a walkway to it from the hotel. The only thing are the elevators are slow as there are a lot of floors (20) and there are 4 of them so it gets busy when the hotel is full. Overall one of the best convention hotels I've stayed at.

Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. I had some packages shipped to me at the hotel for a conference and the staff received them for me without issue. Breakfast in the morning was top- notch, the best we have ever experienced. Location was beautiful and very close to a great deal of amenities. Definitely recommend!

Stayed here bc work picked this hotel. The room was hot and noisy esp if you get city view. I got absolutely no sleep; between the traffic noise then some sort of banging outside my window it was a rough week. The bed sounded like it was falling apart. Only pros were the breakfast area, it was large and there was a variety of items and a Starbucks on site. But that is definitely not worth returning for next year! I would choose the Marriott next door.

While a convenient and nicely decorated hotel, the a/c in my room just wouldn't pimp out any air. It was only I. The 80's that day and I turned the air down from 70 to 68 with the fan on high... The night was uncomfortable due to the warmth. Additionally the water in the shower would randomly go from the temperature you set to scolding in an instant and stay there until you turned the water off and then back in again. I tried turning it all the way to cold but it was still scolding hot. If these two things were right it would have been a 5 star stay!

I was in the direct path of hurricane Mathew Melbourne Beach under mandatory evacuation unlike other major hotel chains in the area I was informed your Hilton was not participating in any humanitarian efforts to provide low coat housing for many people in impacted areas, being displaced and looking at major financial impacts and devastation to their homes.

I am a Hilton Honors member and am embarrassed by their failure to act in these time.

I applaud Rosen Hotels, Marriott, Hotel Duval, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn and other chains that support the people in need and only have major financial heart ache to look forward to.

Best regards,

Steve and Cheryl Fleming

Flew into Tampa for a concert so chose to stay at this Embassy Suites because of the close proximity to the arena. SO GLAD WE DID! From the valet, bellhop, to the front desk personnel ... this Embassy did it right. Amazing location with breathtaking views. Beds exceptionally comfortable. Highly recommend to stay on 20th floor. (ROOM 2021 has best views ever) Breakfast delicious. Thanks Hilton Embassy Suites Downtown for the VIP treatment.

This hotel claims to be upscale and it's nothing like that. A lot of things need some upgrading. They have 4 of the slowest elevators that ever existed!!! We had a convention this weekend and we needed to wait 30 min or more for the elevator to come empty because it was always full!! They don't have the capacity to hold all the people from a convention because it turns into caos!! We had the breakfast included and never were able to eat it because again, they don't have the capacity!! There's only like 5 tables to have breakfast and it's buffet, so the line was wrapping around and it was like 1 hour or more until you were able to start putting some food on your plate. We couldn't do this line so we had to paid for a sandwich at the Starbucks that's within the hotel to have something for breakfast. Overall skip the humongous lines and book some place else!!!! And I'm giving it 1 star because you can't leave it empty!!!

Nice location, great views of the water. The rooms are nice, however I do not believe it was cleaned well prior to my arrival. I found hair on one of the beds close to the nightstand and I can tell there was dirt in the carpet. It was a quick stay, but these little details did put me off.

No real breakfast or daily room service or happy hour due to Covid 19... I understand that things are a little different now but will say great value anyway!
Will definitely be back

Very disappointed with the number of people in the lobby, not wearing masks. The hotel had zero control over what was happening in the lobby. The staff service elevator was broken so they had to use the lobby elevators. I saw no one cleaning or wiping down areas.

Breakfast was take away and it was ok. Overall I didn t feel they were really being cautious about Covid. I feel bad for their staff.

The hotel itself is quite beautiful. Pros: -The rooms are very large. -Complimentary breakfast includes omelettes, breakfast buffet, and more. -Beds are comfortable. - Shower is great. - Nice views Cons: - $28 per day mandatory valet parking is the only option for parking. - Rooms are somewhat dirty. Found pills under bathroom vanity. - Elevators are very slow and generally small. They fill very quickly. - Very noisy halls with other drunk guests. Overall, the hotel is nice, but I'd probably stay somewhere else on a return visit.

Don't plan on getting a good night's sleep. If you make reservations for a king size bed and they sell all the rooms they will tell they will upgrade you to a queen size bed. The thermostat will read one thing but your room will feel like 20 degrees warmer. Therefore be prepared to sleep naked. The bright side is you can sleep when you get home.

This was our first time staying in downtown Tampa. George checked us in and gave superb customer service and everything you can think of to make your stay perfect. VALET is $28 a day for overnight but it is so worth it if you can. This is a prime location with easy access to the tram and mins away from Ebor City. The pool is nice but small and located outdoors on the third floor, with bay views. The rooms are huge and clean. George is a gem and an asset to the hotel. He is all about the guest and their comfort.
