This hotel was really nice! We enjoyed the events hosted near the bar as well as the pool overlooking some of the surrounding areas. Only downside was that I tended to have mulch from the plants fall near me when I was in the lobby area. When it fell, it came from who knows how many stories up... Let's hope it doesn't hit anyone! OUCH!

If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Internet was overpriced, construction started at 7am and when I went to check out the system was down and I could not get a bill. I went to eat breakfast and was refused entry due to the fact I did not have my room key or a coupon. Horrific customer service. I would suggest the Marriott across the Street.

Great suites. Living room with TV. Locking door to bedroom with second TV. Kitchenette with sink, fridge, and microwave. Beautiful views from room and outside every door and elevator. Cool pool. AWESOME free breakfast with tons of options and nightly complimentary drinks. 30 minute drive to St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida.

Do Not book a Group at this property. Took more than 5 calls to accounting that were never returned to be able to set up a direct bill. Ended up getting the Sales assistant to help me push it through the week before my group arrived. Now - a month+ later, I have left 2 messages for the GM, 3 for the Accounting supervisor, and 5!! for the accounting person to send me my bill and STILL NO RESPONSE.

This is a nice looking hotel directly next to Tampa Convention Center. I didn't see much of it other than Starbucks, lovely entrance lobby, and bathrooms. That said, I've often stayed at Embassy suites. I've always found the service to be impeccable and the rooms clean and up to date. Tip: if you're not staying, and perhaps if you are, park across the street because just day parking at the hotel is $28. It's valet only at the hotel.

Rooms were over inflated in price. Don't mention anything regarding the $28 parking fee. Said they upgraded us to a larger room but turns out was next to the train rail. Bathroom fixtures falling apart and scum all over the shower.

Really enjoyed staying at the hotel during the pandemic for a change, front desk were really nice and helpful, the suite were roomy and clean. Pool was alright, unfortunately no breakfast due to COVID19! I wish they did a To go or something.

Everything was great at the hotel. Valet was reasonable for our overnight stay. Car service and retrieval was always very fast. Our room was perfect. Beautiful water view from the 18th floor. Breakfast and the manager's reception was the best I've ever experienced at an embassy suites. The hotel was a couple minute walk from our concert and many dining options. We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Hotel was ok. The service was not. There have been no pack and plays or cribs available for at least 3 days. We booked a room with queen beds and were given doubles. We called down to ask for a correction and they said they would move us the next day "guaranteed" and also guaranteed that we would get a pack and play the next day. Each day we would ask what is going on and the desk staff always say they hadn't heard of our problem even when we talked to the same young man twice.
Otherwise, the facility is actually pretty good though it's hard to enjoy your stay when you have a family with young kids, cant get a crib or pack and play meaning your toddler has to sleep on the floor.

UPDATE - after Owner's reply ----

Owner responded saying that they would use this as a training opportunity.... They really should try to improve things WHILE they are happening. I contacted the Hilton support twice during my stay (in addition to talking to the front desk staff everyday) and each time they said they would be in touch with hotel management to find a solution. We heard nothing further from management either time.

I'm glad someone from the company is reading the reviews but it appears it is just someone in public relations, not anyone that has the ability to change the way the hotel is operating.

Embassy Suites was great as always. Breakfast buffet is the same good quality as every Embassy Suites. Only reason for one less star is the Starbucks was still under construction and so they used the lobby bar to serve Starbucks, and that wasn't really at the level of efficiency or as welcoming as you'd normally expect.

The room reserved for a long time via the hotel's own booking platform was not available on the day of arrival. We were not given a reason for this; We were referred to another hotel along with a letter to cover the costs. At least.

Hotel doesn't stop local restaurants from sliding ads under the door. We arrived late, no room service menu in our suite but there are restaurant ads...so we order a late dinner. Never got my son's food, what we did get was terrible, we didn't get utencils and it arrived almost 2 hours after ordering it. When I brought it to a hotel "manager's" attention that night I was told it is my responsibility to check the star ratings of the restaurant. The next day I asked for the manager at the front desk and was given "Toni". She listened to my concerns and then just apologized. Two weeks ago manager Jeff Weinthaler responded to another negative post. I asked for the hotel manager, why didnt I get him? I am not even sure I spoke to the manager either time I attempted it. I just don't understand where customer service has gone these days. Lost sleep, went to bed way too late and am spending $2,000 to stay here and I feel like they don't care to fix the issue. I feel sorry for the next guest who stays here and experiences the same issue I had. Based on their response, I am sure this will happen again.

Clean and neat place. The are three sections to the hotel room. One is the living room with a sofa, tv, and a work desk. The second is the bathroom and the kitchen area. I was hesitant to called it kitchen. It has a small fridge, sink, and microwave. The third is the bedroom which has an external view.

I reserved on Priceline and was told the room view I picked was not available. That is why I took a star. Other than that it was a great place.

This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. However, the central atrium has a low balcony wall, and all the elevators are glass. I have vertigo and it would have been nice to know that before booking. The 19th floor has a lovely view but I got stressed every trip in the elevator and walk to my room.

I'm sorry to say that, as Embassy Suites go, this one is the worst I've stayed in as far as decor, pool, restaurant, evening reception and breakfast. The location is wonderful if you are going to the convention center. The staff is very helpful, well-trained and courteous. Unfortunately, I needed to call on them time and again. We followed another table of guests out of the restaurant in the evening. The menu is more limited than the room service menu, it is actually a sports bar; not a restaunt. The food is terrible. Just inedible. There were internet issues (note: internet in the hotel is $15/night) over and over again that they could not fix or didn't have the equipment that tech support said they should have on hand...but they tried diligently. Microwave malfunction (that must be why the microwave is unplugged...it just keeps beeping!). There is no courtesy shuttle. The breakfast is not the full lavish Embassy Suite breakfast I know and love...it is a watered down, shadow of itself. And the coffee...well, let us just say that people were lined up at the independent coffee shop in the hotel rather than drink the free breakfast coffee. The rooms are clean but the furnishings are anything but lovely--especially considering this is only about 4 or 5 year old property. We are disappointed and will re-evaluate our accommodations for next year after this experience.

This hotel was under a LOT of construction while it was supposed to be one of the major host hotels for a softball series. Bad timing on their part as they know about the hosting months in advance, and still decided to rip up the lobby and have construction noises early in the morning. The free happy hour was a nice gesture, but it still felt like a lesser experiences that I would hope from from an Embassy hotel.

Great location, adjacent to the convention center with a connecting pedestrian bridge. Renovations are underway. I stayed in a recently renovated room. The room was well appointed with an abundance of USB charging ports; greatly appreciated. I'm not a fan of the pillows, but that's a very personal thing. The breakfast was so-so. There was NOT a made to order breakfast station as advertised. I assume this will come with the renovation? Evening drinks were decent, free Bud and Bud Light, as well as well liquors and wine. Evening snacks were pretzels, chips, and salsa. Nothing to get excited about. Valet parking is $28/night plus tax. There are local garages but they charge upon each exit. Decent stay in a great location.

Had a three day conferenconference there. Only used one room which worked for the event. The room next door's air conditioning system broke down which made it misersble for them. Starbucks right down stairs!

Good Parts:

Good Parts:
1. The front desk personnel were simply wonderful. Kudos to George and Khaloud.
2. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good, particularly the omelet station.
3. The grandchildren loved the elevator rides.
4. The hotel is very clean.
5. Michelle Cruz, Team Leader, is an EXCELLENT representative of good will for hotel. Her pleasantness is infectious, and her warmth and personality made those things which weren't so right seem insignificant. That's powerful.

Not So Good Parts:
For the amount of money you are paying, one expects every little thing to work and be in place.

1. In our case, the room's refrigerator didn't work. Annoying because we brought food to store, and some had to be discarded.

2. The heating/cooling system didn't work properly in that the room wouldn't heat properly. We stayed cold because the thermostat only went to 71 degrees Fahrenheit.

Consistently Bad Service Don t waste your money on this place

If management and leadership is good in any business, they lead by example and have the ability and skill to recover from unexpected service issues quickly and with grace. Unfortunately, if management is inept, that is also an example and provides for management by excuses used by all employees. My family and I have suffered major service issues on two separate stays at this hotel that could have been avoided if the management team actually had skills and led by a good example.

A year ago, we stayed at this hotel which has 20 floors and four elevators. At that time two of the four elevators had not worked in 2 days, and waiting time to get up or down from the rooms was 10-15 minutes. When I told the manager by message about having to use the stairs because I just couldn t wait any longer, the response I received was I sincerely apologize for the issue. I will have matinence check the elevators and make sure everyone is working properly. This is a direct copy of the message I received, including the grammar and spelling errors. I have deleted the name at the end of the message. Do you think management and employees should have known the elevators were not working after 2 days? Guess not, so let s send matinence to find out what the problem might be. Seriously???

On future visits to the Tampa Amale Arena we stayed at other really nice hotels and avoided the Embassy Suites, but this week we tried the Embassy Suites again. They proved they are consistently bad.

My family and I arrived at 4pm and had to stand in line for check-in. When it was our turn to check-in we were told our room was not ready. When I asked when it would be ready the front desk clerk said I cannot tell you that. I asked to speak to a manager that could tell me and she pointed to the lady next to her. She said she was a manager and asked how she could help. I said I simply want to know when my room will be ready. She apologized and told me rooms are not ready because a large group had checked out late. (Hint, this is when management is supposed to get involved and supplement housekeeping with extra staff.) After some conversation about why knowing is important so people can plan their time accordingly she told me the room would be ready by 5pm. She told me to sit in the lobby and I would receive a text message when the room was ready.

We sat in the lobby and waited, while watching the check-in line grow to more than 100 people. It was a disaster and people in line were clearly running out of patience. At 5pm I had received no text as promised, so I went back to the Manager that had promised me the room and the message by 5pm. I told her it was 5pm and I had not received a message.

Now this is the best part. She asks for my name again, checks her computer and tells me Yes, your room is ready. When I asked why I had not received a message telling me the room was ready, the Manager replied to me We are too busy. So, in that one simple response, what a clear leadership example for the rest of the staff. It clearly explains the larger problem.

There are many high-quality hotel alternatives nearby, save yourself the frustration and don t waste your money at this Embassy Suites.

Booked a room 3 weeks in advance. Got to the hotel at about 4:30pm to check in and entered a line of about 10 people long. I waited in the line, and watched it grow behind me. As I got to the counter, I was asked my name. I gave it to him and he then asked if I had a confirmation for my reservation because he couldn't find it. I gave him the confirmation and he magically found it. He then asked for credit card and drivers license to check me in. He then told me the room was not ready. He took my phone number and stated they would contact me when the room was ready.
We went to get something to eat and at 6:15, we decided we didn't have a good feeling about being contacted. We called and the person on the phone had no idea who we were. We got back to the hotel at about 6:45pm and inquire about our rooms. Once again I was told they were not ready. I asked why not and was simply told that there was a large group that checked out late that day. I stated it was unacceptable and needed our rooms. He simply looked at me and stated he could not do anything.
I asked for a supervisor and a young woman walked out, looked in the computer and told us it would not be a problem to get us into our room.
I have been staying in Hilton properties for years but have never seen anything like this.
Ifor looking for a place to stay in downtown Tampa, I would certainly steer clear of this hotel.

Trish lied & sold our room for a higher price on Labor Day weekend on the side for herself , after we booked it & PAID FOR IT. We drove 2 hours away with 4 small children. WE HAVE PROOF THAT WE WERE THERE TOO. She has a terrible attitude towards your guests. Because of her you lost a person who frequents hotels & I will let friends know as well. EMBASSY YOU CAN CONTACT ME AT THIS EMAIL to make it better.
