Room was ok as it was a handicap room. They were remodeling and made it very difficult to arrive or depart with luggage (stairs). Sure it'll be great for future guest, but it certainly took away from our stay.
Fabulous facility! Staff members are so friendly and efficient. Absolutley enjoyed the complimentary photobooth from Say Queso Photobooth!
The room and living area are spacious. Property is close to the Convention Center, Amalie Arena, and Channelside Plaza. Front desk staff were awesome. Only downfall was that the hotel was under renovation.
Over priced not clean and beds are very hard. The continental breakfast is a joke. I well not be staying here again.
Conveniently located if you are visiting the conversation center. I used only the valet parking but it was well organized, looked clean, and well staffed. Quite a bit of construction is going on around the area, and hopefully, in a few months the place will be much better to navigare around.
Undergoing a little construction right now. So, there was no restaurant orur bar on site. A little difficult to get into by car. Rooms appear to be recently renovated. Comfortable beds. Free WiFi, breakfast, and some happy hour drinks. Very convenient to the convention centre and free street car to Ybor City.
Too noisy! The pull out was super uncomfortable. The valet was overpriced!!
Our suite was roomy, convenient, and tidy. Would definitely stay again!
Beautiful hotel! Great location and wonderfully friendly staff!
Amazing service from the bottom to the top first-class professionalism.
Very nice, friendly and helpful staff. They did a fantastic job orchestrating every thing around th construction.
Worst experience at a Hilton, I m a soon to be diamond member I stay at a Hilton two to three times a month the hotel Managment is horrible there were bugs crawling all over my room and I was on the 19th floor. They looked like bed bugs, but after maitanance spent 30 minutes spraying my room with raid he said they might be baby cockroaches, like that s any better!!! I had them crawl on my at 10 at night and after the raid ordeal they had the nerve to ask if I wanted to move rooms! Then the manager never called me after asking three times, didn t even get a damn appology, if your ok with bugs crawling on you stay here!
Great hotel and location. Staff is patient with the big convention crowds.
I tried almost 5 hotels ( embassy suites) in different cities all are super clean they never left any chance to complain about the them really appreciate for there cleanliness best in class ..
Elevators were awful, it took forever to be able to get on one. Housekeeping didn't come until the last day of our stay. Comforter had stuff on it. Wash cloths had hairs in them. There was hairs in the soap holder in the shower. Just needs to be more thoroughly cleaned by housekeeping.
Comfortable beds, but no one in the machines and the elevators take forever to arrive.
Parked here valet for the Lightning game. No issues.
Close parking garage. Close to downtown, Soho, and Ybor city. Lots of great restaurants. Service was great. Complimentary evening drinks and breakfast.
We went for Metrocon. Seems to have relatively cheap parking around it. Nice spacious building. We didn't stay in the actual hotel but the convention center is nice.
I will preface this by saying, we always stay at Hilton properties and I have always had a wonderful experience. Until now.
On the surface this hotel looks wonderful. However, underneath it is sorely lacking. Our room was outdated. There were rust holes all over the bathroom. The mattresses are hard and lumpy. The AC wasn't working properly and couldn't keep the room cool. There was a strange random loud knocking sound, making it difficult to sleep. The noise from the street is LOUD, even on the 18th floor. Paper thin walls let you listen to everything your neighbors are doing, especially when they check in at 1 am. The plants everywhere are fake and dusty. The beer was watery and flat. Unless they do some major renovations, this hotel is a definite skip.
Loved the proximity to the convention center, water taxi, and trolly.
This was by far the WORST hotel experience I have ever had and I travel 4 of 7 days a week. We were charged well over $300 for our one night stay. The breakfast was not cooked to order but rather an overcrowded buffet that couldn't keep up with demand, they ran out of food and coffee. When I brought it to the attention of desk manager, Edwin, I was told that he had seen people with food so I was basically a liar, UNACCEPTABLE!!! They insisted we valet park our car for $30 and in the morning we had to wait for an hour and a half for our car to be brought around. There are SERIOUS problems with the staff at this hotel, rude and disrespectful of our time. Your policy says you will make it right,.this was an epic fail.
The hotel location is great! As far as the actual hotel, the rooms are a little dated. As others have said, the air conditioning leaves something to be desired, they have some energy conservation program on the thermostat. I found out on my last night, however, that if you ask them, they can override the program. Overall it is a decent hotel.
Very fancy hotel. The inside restaurant, trolleys is really good.
Love this place great accommodations, clean comfortable, fabulous breakfast
The service was good. The room was huge and accommodating. I would stay here again!
Despite the ongoing construction I still love this place, such a nice view of downtown and the waterfront.
This hotel is beautiful from the outside. It s conference rooms are nice, but the cleanliness of the room is not good as evidenced by these nasty looking stains on the curtains, the side table and the bathroom has black mold. Room 710
Dates of Stay: 9/29/19 - 10/1/19.
On the second day of my stay, I was working at the desk in the bedroom area. I rolled the cube-like desk chair away from the desk, exposing dog feces underneath the desk. Alarmed that the room could go uncleaned and unnoticed for this long (it was dried into the carpet), I immediately called the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. My request was ignored and I was told Maintenance would come by. I asked for the front desk rep to let management know about the issue and was met with a cold, "Maintenance will be by your room". After waiting for 25 minutes, Maintenance finally showed up, looked at the feces and said "This is a housekeeping issue." I asked the Maintenance rep if I could speak to a manager and he said "Yes. What time would you like him to come by your room?" I said noon. Noon came and went with no manager visit. By this time I needed to shower and get to the convention center for a trade show, which I worked for the duration of my stay.
I'm disturbed that Management didn't see this as a real issue of cleanliness and I wasn't moved rooms, or even allowed to speak to the manager. It was literally swept under the rug, just like the dog feces was swept under the desk to dry and fester.
I m not quite sure where to begin because the troubles with this hotel happened from the very beginning of my stay. As per many other reviews, it s glaringly obvious that this hotel doesn t place reservations in high esteem, especially since they sold practically everyone s rooms and had to place me and my friends in two separate rooms. While I wasn t charged for the second room, I wasn t told that I d be paying the MASSIVE security fee on both (nearly $300) and that all of the hotels amenities would be absolutely horrendous. The continental breakfast required you to wear wristbands for some reason, and the on-site food options are steeply priced. The valet staff was rude and inattentive, refusing to even help me or my friends load or unload our luggage. Literally every luggage cart was pushed by a guest, and not by a hotel associate showing that they really don t care about assisting their guests. The people at the front desk were condescending and unfriendly. Housekeeping tried to enter my room multiple times despite me having a do not disturb sign on my door. The elevators are slow and in need of repair, considering they re loud and clunky, not to mention kind of an eyesore. The vending on sight is weak at best. Overall, probably my worst hotel experience, and I wouldn t wish it upon anyone. Horrible hidden fees, made up valet costs, and rude and unhelpful staff. The only redeeming feature is that the showers were clean. But honestly, I m surprised they didn t mess that up too.
Its ok, clean, nice big hotel, has a lit of floors just hope the fire alarm doesnt go off 3 times in one night. Had to go down 15 floors pf stairs
This hotel had too many inconveniences to be enjoyable. This was my birthday present.. a weekend getaway. I'm pregnant with my 4th kid, and I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend. But I was disappointed over and over again. The hotel was really busy. There were people everywhere at all times. Only 2 of the 4 elevators were running, (but there was no maintenance happening. Just 2 in commission) so I had to wait 7- 20 minutes for the elevator each time! I stayed on the 18th floor, and each time I was on the elevator, I was packed in like a sardine. NOT SOCIAL DISTANCING. The elevator would also stop on at least 5-8 floors on our way down to the lobby. The front desk lady seemed very unhappy and annoyed to help me each time I talked to her. The only parking option is valet parking (over $30!). My room smelled of smoke very strongly and being pregnant, I couldn't handle it. The front desk didn't have air fresheners or anything and just told me to come back down to the front desk to get assigned a new room (another 10 minute wait for the elevator). They refused to bring me keys for the new room. In the morning I waited for 25 minutes in line for breakfast, to learn that it was powdered eggs, not fresh eggs. EW. The whole reason I chose this hotel was for Embassy Suite's famous breakfast. They didn't even have a drink fountain with soda options like every other Embassy Suites has. They only had cans of orange juice for breakfast. When I returned to my room after breakfast, the bathroom smelled very strongly of weed. SERIOUSLY! How many people are smoking in this hotel and the staff doesn't know about it?! Overall, I was disappointed. I will not ever stay at this hotel again. It was overpriced and very busy. It was not Covid friendly, and I waited in longer lines there than I do at Disney World. Not a relaxing, easy weekend getaway. Stay elsewhere unless you want to stand around a lot.
If you are thinking of hosting a special event, I highly recommend the Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center. Not only is it a beautiful space, but Lee Rodriguez, the Director of Catering, will go above and beyond to make your day special and your event spectacular! Plus, the location is perfect- close to University of Tampa, Ybor, and in the heart of downtown.
Getting a room was extremely easy and pain-free, even during a large event at the convention center. The convention center is directly connected to the hotel so if you're visiting for the same reason I am, to attend an event at the center its perfect. Room service is quick and plenty of food nearby. Publix is just a few minutes away walking, so if you wanted to grab not fast food.
I had a nice stay here, the open lobby was perfect for making it rain $1 dollar bills at 4:00AM.
Great rooms. Great restaurant. Love free breakfast and happy hour
Great location and excellent amenities. The breakfast and happy hour are definite pluses that keep us returning to this chain. Great customer service and clean rooms.
Terrible customer service as well as unexpected parking charges. Terribly inconvienient. Dont recommend.
Overall the hotel location was fantastic, it was also a very nice hotel and rooms were great! The only issue we had was with the check in process because there were only 3 people checking us in and took an extremely long time!
Excellent location.right in the heart of downtown tampa. Easy access to the convention center.friendly and knowledgeable staff .
I will not come back. Ever.
They would not honor the group discount rate for APEC.
The room was always hot. Setting to the lowest level of 68deg for a week, the coolest it got was 73. A few times.
The door lock worked so bad I got locked out of my room for 2 hours before engineering let me in and " fixed it" . Afterwards took 5 to 15 inserts to get the door to open.
I am going to have to pay for the overpriced rate myself since my company will only reimburse the group rate for the APEC show.
That hurts.. I will Never stay in any Hilton chain again. Integrity matters.
You really screwed me on this business trip.
Also discovered the air filter is CAKED with what looks like 5 years of dust buildup. Yuk. No wonder the AC won't cool.
Before I go on my rant. I want to say the hotel and staff are great!! Especially Tim! On another note if you park valet I NEED TO WARN YOU!! They are THIEVES!! I visited Tampa last week for 5 days. Each day I did inventory before I left my vehicle. On Friday morning as I checked out, I noticed my merchandise was tampered with. As I surveyed more I noticed things were missing which was not missing the evening before. I immediately filed a report with valet. From my understanding and having conversation with the supervisor the merchandise which was stolen is something these young kids would take. The account manager from the Third Party valet company finally called me and in short the valet of course will not take responsibility because according to her there has not been a trend. A trend is not needed for anyone to steal, especially the kind of merchandise which I trusted to be kept in my vehicle. I only hope this doesn t happen to anyone else!! Will never book this hotel again!
Had to wait for the elevators for over 20 minutes multiple times. Then if you want to take the stairs they are outside in the rain.
Very accommodating stay after the Marriott gave away my confirmed reservation.
Very nice place, However, the parking is really expensive.
Horrible customer service! They didn t clean our room when they supposed to after you stay more then 3 days! They use coronavirus as an excuse for everything! Don t waste your money here!
The hotel itself was very nice BUT when I went to check out on June 5, 2015 I was missing 3 dresses, 2 jackets, a sweater, a blazer, and a pair of sandals. The hotel said they would check with housekeeping and (because I was flying out that day) call me when they found out what happened. Needless to say I never heard anything after that OR after the weekly phone calls I made to the hotel for the next two months. I'm writing this review only after being promised multiple times that they would "find out what happened and let me know". The hotel seemed like a good value when I checked in but having over $300 of clothing taken from my room makes it a pretty expensive stay!
I really expected more house keeping succs and with the price people pay no house shoes or robe. And they lie about free drinks
Great location, accomodating staff, and spacious rooms. Love this hotel!
I was in town and went to an event they were offering there.
Stopped for drinks with a friend, and bar service was very limited and extremely pricey for apps a drinks.
We arrived on February 18 to go to a Fleetwood Mac concert next door at the Amalie Center. The hotel is located downtown amid one way streets. The only way into the hotel is to turn into their front entrance. There is no where to park around the hotel.
We waited 3.5hours to check into the hotel.
First we had to get in line with about 100 other cars to get to the entrance of the hotel. This took 1.5hours. As they had only one of two lanes open at the entrance, and then only one parking attendant. Your only option is to valet park!
Then, we finally got into the hotel. Where we joined at least 150 other people trying to check in. We then waited in line inside, another 2 hours to check in. The management seemed totally unconcerned. They never apologized. they did say that they were behind because they had let the previous guest, volleyball tournament members, late check out until 4pm.
It was horrible. This was a HILTON!!! not a Motel 6.
They knew this concert was that evening and were totally unprepared.
We finally got to our room, and the room and bath were dirty and the toilet didn't work!. Well by now it was a choice, go to the concert or deal with more problems with this hotel. So we just used the bathroom downstairs.
The concert was great!
The hotel awful!
Other guests who had lots of time to talk while waiting to check in said this is typical of this location. Hilton needs to do something. Even Chic-fil-a does a better job with customer service.
went because i wanted a starbies and had to take a leak. great bathrooms! i will definitely keep this hotel in mind if i ever need to use the bathrooms again! i'm sure it would be even more pleasurable for the number twos!
Loved my suite and the hotel as a whole. The complementary breakfast and pool were other major perks.
Nice hotel, just next to Convention Center, high rise, nice view of the city and sea from upper levels.
Great hotel. Pricey but worth it. There is a nice pool with a nice restaurant. The interior of the hotel is just glorious and the workers are so attentive and friendly. Great Stay and I recommend.
Suites are very nice, staff not afraid to service your room. Quite pleased.
Not gonna lie. It was pretty freaking awesome. If you're iffy, pull the trigger. I stayed here with the family, while we waited to board our cruise. Room was cozy, and awesome, and most importantly staff was awesome. I like to have fun, so I went up to the 20th floor and dropped quarters into the pond in the lobby. Staff saw us do it, and laughed. Don't forget to tip the omelette makers, because they made the BEST omelette I have ever had. Tampa is awesome. Embassy is awesome.
We had a wedding party and the power for the entire building went out. No elevator, hot water or air conditioning even after the remaining power came back on four plus hours later. The bride called for a sewing kit because the back of her dress snapped after putting it on, instead of them bringing it to the room they wanted us to walk down 10 flights and back up with the kit. Safety concern there were NO LIGHTS on in the stairwell. After a complaint they put glow sticks.
Me and my boyfriend then had to check into our own room. He was not able to check in due to the power outage and had to sit for 1-2 hours waiting. The room was 1119, there was a safety hazard there as the doorknob of the bathroom was on backwards so whoever is in there cannot lock it, but whoever else is in the room outside can.
Great for parking for Lightning games. Good free breakfast if you are staying.
Its being remodeled so I would have never stayed here if I would have caught that, slow drain in bathtub and windows need to be cleaned on the outside, i wouldn't come back but staff was nice and location is great
Maid walked in on us. Over an hour wait to check in!.
I am staying at this Embassy Suites now.... Their bar is closed for contruction. I went to review snacks since everything else was closed and it was not replenished since at least yesterday. The front desk apologised that that dont get the support from management to do it right.. If you pay over $200 a night there needs to be a better reason.
Bottom line, stay away they have no respect for the customer and only do what they are told.
Beautiful hotel, great location, clean, and friendly staff. However, the shuttle bus driver (one of those Joey Za Za salesman looking idiot) was rude. He barely wanted to drive anywhere. He was lazy during our stay.
Our room, which had been reserved well in advance, was no longer available at check-in. So: there was no room available at all. The hotel was fully booked and they were unable to offer us accommodation late at night after a long flight. Instead, we were transferred to another hotel.
