So finally got to try this place out in Downtown San Diego. Was pleased to see it has gone thru some modern renovations which looked great in my opinion.
To start off my day my check in was very easy, was able to check in a bit earlier and relax a bit before the evening reception .
This hotel offers one of the best embassy suites evening reception. The variety of snacks and mixed alcoholic drinks are more than other Embassy Suites .
The hotel is situated to be walking distance to Seaport Village and the USS Midway . This is great so if you would like to spend sometime just walking around and enjoying the scenery of the ocean .
This hotel has a baskin-Robbins and Dunkin Donuts On premise which is a real plus .
I would also like to mention that Diana from the gift shop was truly amazing . Since they had a sale going on I enjoyed purchasing some Jewelry. She never seemed to be annoyed on how long I took to decide on what I wanted .
The breakfast was great my only issue was my omelette . I'm a bit picky on how it looks and it was done the lazy way. And it was not just mine but everyone's . The egg on the omelette where not whisked up properly, it just looks like they got the eggs , added the toppings and flipped it.
Another thing that had occurred is when we entered our room we only had one back cushion for our sofa .
So hopefully next time the staff members aren't rushed so much by management that they forget the little details .
I would also like to mention that this hotel only offers Valet parking I had paid $42 for the time of my stay. You come in and out as much as you please, but considering how the layout of the drop off and pick up of the cars it seemed to chaotic.
So overall the staff was great and I'm hoping they can make the valet A little less chaotic. It just gets way to crowded in the small area they have .

Second time staying here. Beds, sheets, and pillows were comfy! Breakfast and staff were great. Toilet ran through most of the evening. I couldn't figure out how to turn the shower on...Recommended if vacationing near downtown.

Do not use thier valet. I parked my car here and came back to them telling me my car was given to someone else. Turns out it was there all along but they only found it after two managers were called and I was in progress of reporting it stolen to the police. The managers did do a good job of responding with urgency. The onsite staff needs to be addressed as this could have been solved by simply walking through the garage and looking for the car. They are lucky I am a fairly calm person.

Staff was great and very friendly. Room was nice and clean with a good view. Breakfast bar was awesome with lots of choices. Snack bar in the evening is a nice option. Its located in a good location. We will absolutely stay here again if we are ever back in the area. Nichole at the concierge desk was very helpful with things to do, places to eat and discounts that were available.

I am totally disappointed at this hotel stay between November 15 to November 17. As a Diamond Member of Hilton, I do get respect at any of the other Hilton properties worldwide. I was in San Diego for a convention and my plane leaves around 5:00 p.m. So, I requested for the late checkout at 2:00 p.m. twice but the front desk staff refused both time and only said until 1:00 p.m. This is hotel with over 900 rooms. Do all next day customers come in to check in at 4:00 p.m.? It does not make sense that this hotel cannot accommodate Diamond member an extra hour of late checkout. I was not happy about this at all as I was always granted late checkout until 2:00 p.m. at other Hilton properties. I am also an Elite Ambassador member with IHG and always been granted 2:00 p.m. checkout at Crowne Plaza or other IHG properties or guaranteed 3:00 p.m. checkout at Intercontinental hotels.
So, I had to check out at 8:00 a.m. and leave my luggage with the front desk and picked up my luggage after the conference. If they granted me 2:00 p.m. checkout, I could have come back from the conference to check out and left my luggage in my room.
I am also entitled for 2 free water bottles each day of the stay as a Diamond member but they did not even put the water bottles in my room either. Totally not taking care of the highest tiered members. The property needs some upgrade and staff need to be better trained to take care of the higher tiered customers. Breakfast was okay. Would not stay here ever again and do not recommend to other Hilton members either.

Great hotel that was close to Seaport village and the Midway. View was great even with a nonbay room. Only problem was the $50 surprise fee for parking. That is a little steep! Not staying there again unless that changes.

Skeleton crew staff, especially buffet breakfast which was poor quality food, couldn't handle the Christmas bookings capacity. Coin operated laundry only, hard to get to get change when shops are closed and front desk had none. Hit and miss room service

It was disappointing that the parking lot was charged.
In the happy hour, snacks and drinks (with alcohol) were free and it was very good.
Many people were used.
There are also Top Gun bar and so on in a few minutes on foot.
Be careful when walking at night, as there are vagrants on the other side of the big street (sea side).

Hotel very beautiful. Customer service 2 thumbs down. The front desk will have you waiting in line for 10 min with no acknowledgement. This is my experience the two times I ve visited. I am a business owner myself, and it ll be heartbreaking to know the ppl I hire has little customer service skills. Terrible.

Nice rooms with separate bedroom allowed for basically a two bedroom room; the couch folded out into a bed. The house cleaning changed the sheets for the fold out bed and bedroom bed every day. We were never low on towels, and amenities never ran out. Breakfast was good enough, and there's reception every night; can't complain there. Parking is valet only, and expensive per downtown pricing, so plan accordingly. Overall a good experience.

We stayed for five nights while in the San Diego area. We were extremely satisfied. The rooms were spacious, clean and updated. The breakfast had a large variety of food and drinks and in the evening the complementary snacks were more like a light dinner with options including Tortilla soup, nachos, chips and salsa, veggies for dipping and several options of dip with soda, coffee and alcoholic drinks made to order. It s located in a great area with access to many attractions. We chose to park our car with the hotel and that seemed a little expensive ($50 a day) but having it close by was a must for us. We would definitely stay again and again!

I was only here briefly for a social event, but my experience was fantastic. The food was good, the rooms were clean, and the service was great. We were the suite on the 12th floor overlooking the bay, and the view was gorgeous.

The location is ideal for walking to the various events, restaurants, entertainment, stores or working as in my case. Downside parking is limited, thus almost have to use valet parking, which the rates are what reasonable for San Diego. Hotel staff earned four stars, a thanklesss job with rude partons.

I have never been treated so poorly in my years of travel. I've traveled all over the world and have been in some of the best and worst hotels and to be honest after talking to not only the person at the front desk (kristy) and then sent to a manager (Ives) who still didn't care what there website said or wanted to help in anyway . The sad part is that I had stayed there for every trade show for the past 20 years because I made sure that I had our travel agent book it for my company. I truly believe it's a sign of the times when the customer gets treated like they don't care it's time to get a new place in SD. Time to go back to the Marriott where you know they want your business.

I usually don't post bad reviews, but the customer service was so bad I felt like I should. Had multiple issues with the room and overall cleanliness of the pool area (they didn't clean up the old used bandaids our entire stay there even after several complaints). Staff was very defensive and confrontational when I mentioned the problems. Take this into consideration before you book your stay here. They will do nothing to resolve your concerns.

BIG Thanks to the staff at this hotel for accommodating our request! I was able to book a room for my daughter & new son-in-law for their wedding night and they had the best experience, view was marvelous too! Thank you again, Mary B.
