Very nice hotel! The level of service offered is impeccable. The suites are clean. Breakfast is delicious! Breakfast in bed is a terrific program. I felt welcomed throughout the stay. The WiFi signal reception could have been improved.

friendly and efficient staff, nice room and grounds, plenty parking, good spa staff. food was very good, but some dishes were smaller portions - though the fillet steak was large :) Can definitely recommend for a short break.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms large although a little dated in decor. What let it down was the service. We were left waiting at the bar without the staff acknowledging us at all every time. We were given the wrong order twice at the bar. We opted for the dinner inclusive option which turned out to be good value, but none of the staff could really explain how the deal worked and what was included making the dinner less relaxing. It was also silent in the restaurant, no atmosphere as there was no music and every table seemed to be awkwardly whispering. The service was far below what you'd expect from a hotel like this, especially given the prices. Having said this, I told the front desk at the end of our stay who were extremely apologetic and wiped out bill as a gesture of goodwill which more than made up for it.

A lovely hotel, with a spa, heated swimming pool and many outdoor activities such a cricket and croquet, the hotel is surrounded by many wonderful walks. The hotel staff are very friendly answering all questions and serving your needs, the rooms are very nice and the restaurants both serve delicious food great quality as well as breakfast being excellent. Overall my stay here was brilliant and I recommend it to all.

Stunning location, impeccable service, view over the Cheltenham racecourse. Perfect if you are looking for a weekend out. Good also for families! The pool and the grounds will keep the kids busy.

Stunning hotel in beautiful surroundings. Staff are friendly, rooms are spotless, food is good (only tried the bar restaurant), English breakfast is probably one of the best I have had..made to order which fresh black pudding which is a must try and fantastic scrambled eggs (not sure what they do to them but they taste great). Going back to try the spa facilities next time

We travelled to Ellenborough Park for a countryside getaway in the Cotswolds on the first weekend of August 2020 and we could not have been more excited to experience the history and the charm of this stunning manor. Our hopes were incredibly high.

Overall, our experience here was above and beyond what we could have expected.

Upon being greeted and escorted by Jonathan (serving as a bellhop at the moment), we received a nice review of the history and were oriented to our room. The room we had was at the top of the tower, which was such a nice surprise for us. Jonathan (2nd Jonathan who served at the front desk) was so kind to change us to this room upon meeting us.

Throughout our stay, the customer service was exceptional, and while it s hard to put our entire experience into words, suffice it to say that this is a world class hotel and staff. From the room, to the food, to the service at every point, it was perfect. They really cared.

Can t say enough about both Jonathans and are very grateful for the way they ensured we left with a very fond memory of our stay at Ellenborough Park.

Beautiful building with beautiful surroundings. Rooms are borderline exquisite but obviously NOT on the cheap side. Food was great and they made an effort we us Vegans despite their being literally nothing the menu. We did have some weird - still unexplained - stuff happen late at night with staff knocking on the door and then almost coming in and then apologising saying they were confused which was very strange but I m sure completely innocent? Hotel is still relatively new and perhaps finding it s feet and lacking in some amenities like a jacuzzi or indoor pool (does have an outdoor heated one) which for the money I thought should be standard but overall we were happy.

Do not eat here if you require a special diet the chef is unable to understand customer requirements the staff have failed to phone me back despite five left messages never had this embarrassment anywhere else . Very difficult afternoon shame no one cared

We had a family suite and we let them know at breakfast the shower leaks all over the floor, it's over 6 hours later and it still hasn't been looked at. You have to make reservations for EVERYTHING and we were unable to have afternoon tea. It is truly unfortunate that they cannot accommodate all their guests. At breakfast I had to ask twice for more coffee and they are so slow they finally brought it when we were ready to leave. Service is poor, we are here from out of the country, nothing is near. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. Showers are moldy too. My stay is not over and I wish I never came.

Loved the stay and the area is amazing! Booked through Mr and Mrs Smith. Staff worked really hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The bar food and drink was priced high but was good quality and can be expected. Only gripe was the swimming pool can't be accessed directly from the spa and was a cold walk around the building. But my wife and I enjoyed being in the open air. Not enough of a gripe to warrant anything less than 5 stars.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Dog friendly- although not everywhere. Lots of fields to walk the dog. The rooms supposedly came with a dog bed, so we didn t bring ours. It was a crate with a thin blanket, so completely unsuitable for the dog.

Breakfast was a disaster- the front of house spent the whole time apologising for only having one chef on. It took ages and we all got meals at different times. Not worth the wait when it came, and I had to go hunting for my own condiments as they never came.

Stunning location beneath Cleeve Hill and overlooking Cheltenham Racecourse. Ample, easy parking. Beautiful grounds. Our first time there, for a large party (100+) meal. Our dining room, (a former courtyard?) was just right. On arrival, the tea/coffee was served by a cheery efficient young lady. Perfectly cooked meat dishes arrived promptly for all. A decently presented tasty vegetarian option arrived for my wife. Afterwards some of us had drinks in a beautiful (old Indian style?) balcony area overlooking a larger lounge below. Staff all seemed professional and warm, without being intrusive: opening doors, giving directons. Faultless. A memorable afternoon.

Awesome hotel in a wonderful setting. Staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms are massive. Spa is a little on the small size but there were never many people using it so it was fine. May be an issue at busier times though. You can borrow some boots and do a trek up the hill and get amazing views as well.

This place is truly amazing the service, the rooms, the staff are all just fantastic, we got married here but have been back to use the spa and have a lunch, which as per our wedding meal was exceptional.

The place is beautiful with a stunning view. Sadly the staff is not well trained and the waiters don't know what they are serving. Also they got our order wrong and were unprofessional and rude when we mentioned it. The food is delicious!!!! With this kind of service the overall experience was definitely NOT worth the money!

First of all my rating is generous because of Covid, I am sure this was partly the reason for my experience.

The hotel is fantastic as a building, it is in great surroundings and if you take a dog there are so many walks right on your doorstep. The building is historic and interesting and has a good list of facilities (including a heated open-air pool). What really let it down was the service. We had booked a dog friendly room only to be told 2 days before our arrival they had none. After much arguing we got this sorted. The theme of poor service continued. Housekeeping had to constantly be chased to clean the room and did a poor job of it with obvious cobwebs left between cleaning and towels left on the floor. Restaurant service was chaotic with staff running all over the place with little in the way of organisation. Breakfast had to be pre-booked but you still had to wait 20mins for a table and breakfast itself took forever to arrive. It was all such a shame that the service was chaotic as it would have been great otherwise. When I checked out my concerns were listened to and I was given a discount on the bill which helped. I hope they can sort out these issues as it has great potential as a hotel.

Came here for afternoon tea with my sister. Lovely selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea, and a beautiful location! 4 stars instead of 5 because we had to wait 20 minutes or so to pay the bill.

The place is absolutely beautiful and perfect for a weekend break. We bid for a room upgrade and got it. The spa is excellent too, although would highly recommend booking treatments in advance as they was not much availability when we got the hotel. The staff are extremely nice at the hotel, however at times we found they were not as attentive as we would have expected. All in all however it was a wonderful stay.

I believe this was their opening weekend and it clearly showed in exceptionally poor service throughout. They seemed to be woefully understaffed and some were either new to the place or very rusty. ( Whatever the reason I blame management rushing back as soon as possible.)

Breakfast on both days was an embarrassment with exceptionally slow service, poorly cooked meals and frequent mistakes. If you do stay here then don't go for their prepaid meal package as the only restaurant open is the Brasserie and that is just eye wateringly expensive pub food with average quality. You'd be better off eating offsite and getting better food at better prices.

For a supposedly 5 star hotel you have to ask for everything rather than it be offered and the room was devoid of information so finding out what was available was tricky. The next difficult stage would be getting in touch with reception as they frequently didn't pick up the phone or were physically missing.

If this were a 3 or 4 star hotel with commensurate prices I would have been more forgiving but we spent a small fortune and got an experience that we could have had down the road for a fraction of the price. I'm sure that the place will improve but we'll never go back and find out.

A lovely venue and I had a very good meal. The venue did seem to struggle with a medium sized prebooked group though and the service seemed slow at times. I would certainly consider visiting again

The room we had was lovely and overall it was good value for what paid against the standard price. I think the only negative is the food in the Horse Box was pretty average for the price and the drinks whilst we enjoyed them are very expensive. Could not fault the staff or the service. Excellent!!

One of the most fabulous hotels I have stayed in. Service second to none. Food wonderful, will love to come back in the future. Stayed in a tower room, large with fabulous views. Great in room facilities. Fabulous to explore the house and grounds. Great green areas towards cheltenham for a pre breakfast run. Breakfast was delicious, sorry we had to go home!

Nice and chic place near Cheltenham. A bit pricey and you don't always get what you pay for. Massage was really good and staff was kind and helpful. However even if the place and the area is idyllic it is not a 5 star hotel as it is not a spa hotel. Outdoor pool is heated but small and there is a very small steam room inside. As I said the massage was nice and staff kind and helpful. As for dining...well the traditional restaurant was ok when I tried it a few months ago. This time we tried the casual restaurant and when they served my burger (almost an hour after our order) I regretted I didn't send it back and drive to Cheltenham to visit a burger house! Tasteless, expensive giving me the impression I was served in a cheap burger house! Only difference was the plate and nothing else.It is a nice hotel if you like to explore Cotswolds but if you are looking for a spa break, you should check your options for a hotel with more facilities.

Beautiful setting, the staff were polite, friendly, helpful and had personality which made our stay wonderful. The food at the bar restaurant was very good, probably the best fish and chips I've ever had! The outdoor pool is heated to 28 degrees C which makes it lovely any time of day. Highly recommended it. The only let down was the breakfast. We had high expectations after lunch and dinner the previous day. The bacon was boiled! Yuck. But other than that, amazing place. Would probably stay again if we found a good deal.
