Beautiful complex with traditional feel. Rooms are warm and cosy, although initially we were placed in a room above the noisy swimming pool motor room so we asked to move. The rooms would benefit from double glazing. Food and drink at the Horse Box brasserie is recommended. Spa is very nice and reasonably priced. Overall the hotel is let down by poor service from robotic staff. Employing people with a bit more experience would pay dividends. For example, when moving rooms we had to carry out own suitcases across the grounds. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but when you've paid a lot of money for a supposedly five star hotel, I expected better.

Hands down the best part of the hotel is the staff team. Alex (reception) and Tom went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Very expensive bar but if youre not going every weekend you can justify it.

Charming country manor isn't the Cotswolds that has an excellent grounds and a very good spa. Rooms are large and comfortable and the food is extremely good. A favourite place for destination English weddings ...

Beautiful building, sly and dishonest booking practice.

Booked a bank holiday weekend getaway at hotel, paying premium rate for Sun-Mon stay. Unfortunately, staff had messed up our arrival date and our room type was booked out. Rather than upgrade us, we were downgraded to the lowest tier room (despite a more superior room being vacant). When asked about the refund of difference, they were cheeky enough to try and calculate one the day rack-rate to charge as high a price as possible for the downgraded room. We complained as our booking was in advance, and was advised they have to wait for booking manager to return following Monday to recalculate rate. In the meantime, was offered a cheap bottle of wine instead of difference on check out. We refused. This is now three weeks ago, no news of refund despite multiple follow ups. Clearly hoping one will fade away/get tired if enough time passes.

Really appalling level of staff professionalism and transparency with guests. I am not surprised others on this review found the service and fee practices at this hotel poor also. If you are looking for a luxury venue for a special event, I would avoid this one. Your day would be ruined with unnecessary stress from attempts to overcharge and total disorganisation and lack of professionalism from staff.

The spa was particularly special. The staff has been well picked. So kind and friendly, also the best massages I ever had. The scones and fresh pastries were brilliant. The bed very comfy.

My only critique is there was one staff member in the tea room who seemed a bit switched off and kept getting our, and other orders wrong. With a attitude that didn't match the quality of other staff members efforts.

The outdoor heated swimming pool is a great idea. My partner and I went for a swim. In January, it was great! We got the pool all to ourselves

Anyway I would go there again. But they need to expand thier cocktail menu

Absolutely lovely weekend away for a special occasion. The room was of a very high standard, the bathroom in particular as well as the overall feel of the hotel. Brilliant place to stay, highly recommended and the best feature of all were the hotel staff, they really made the experience very special.

Excellent hotel supported by friendly and attentive staff creating an informal atmosphere. Beautiful old manor house and grounds overlooking Cheltenham racecourse. Loved the room and public areas. Greatly enjoyed the gym, lovely spa & Jacuzzi, as well as the warm waters of the heated outdoor pool. Recommended.

Absolutely delicious afternoon tea for very reasonable price - would highly recommend. Gorgeous cosy setting infront of the roaring fire and beautiful Christmas decorations. Perfect way to celebrate the festive season!

Woeful. Gets one star as zero isn't possible. Cold, miserable food, day old lemon in expensive G&T, shonky service, most spa facilities out of action on a spa break, the worst facial I have ever had. And despite two discrete attempts to try to make things good, I was finally told there was nothing that could be done to address my disappointment with the menu (dismal vegetarian options) as nothing would have changed in the five months since I visited - good to know the "seasonal al" menu is kept up to date... A two star experience at best, charging five star money.

We live down the road from EP and got married here, it's a beautiful place, with good food, friendly staff and 5* service without the stiffness. Our wedding was amazing and the facilities are superb. Highly recommended for afternoon tea as well!

This hotel has a great setting which is ruined by poor management and lack of investment and maintenance .This could be a really top five star hotel but the reality is a rather tired three star hotel with five star prices and one star service .
The impression your left with is a sort of run down stately home where the owner has run out of moneyh

Imposing attractive building, rooms large and well appointed. Only draw back was room we occupied, had to walk out side then into reception and restaurant. The Spa was also in seperate building.

The grounds and buildings are beautiful and the facilities are excellent here, though service at Dinner & Breakfast was slow and staff seemed to have disappeared at times. The waiters and assistants don t seem to be allocated their own tables, and they chop and change to other tables in the area. You never have the same waiter or assistant, but they are all friendly and give great customer service! Beware - They instantly put 12.5% Service Charge on top of their meals when they provide you with the receipt, so if you feel that you have been short changed by your experience then I would suggest you haggle with them to take it off.

Ellenborough park is a beautiful place with very old history, you will be amazed by its architecture. Staff is really good and helpful however the restaurant food let it down, may be because of the coronavirus menu is limited.
You can drive around the area, there are nice food places in about 10 miles radius.
If your looking for nice relaxing short break this place is recommended.
Spa treatments were good as well, you can use swimming pool and gym as well.
Kevin (staff member) was really helpful. He made us feel welcome.

Thank you and we might see you again.

Shocking service. I had booked an afternoon tee, and they clearly wasn't prepared for our group. Making the 4 of us sit on a tiny coffee table that was situated in what looked like a dungeon with scaffolding holding the ceiling up. Reluctantly they then transferred us to a bigger table in the dinning room, which was full of empty tables. Credit where it is due the food was very nice having waited ages for it to come and after we had finished our tee having to ask for a top up. To top the end of the evening off they gave us incorrect change which I had to claim back at reception. Worth mentioning again shocking service.

Attended half day spa break with lunch. Everything lovely, only niggle was that lunch service was slow - 2 hours for two courses! This appears to be a recurring theme looking at past reviews. A 5 star hotel should not attract such comments.

Polished country house hotel. From the moment you arrive you'll notice everything is well maintained, sympathetically refurbished and well thought out. The staff are lovely and clearly picked carefully for their social skills and professionalism. The room was really nice, spacious and very well equipped. The outdoor pool is heated and very nice to use and the restaurant has an menu appropriate for the quality of the hotel.

Ellenborough Park is one of the country's most beautiful venues set against the stunning Cleeve Hill, the views are sublime, fantastic staff that go above and beyond to make weddings so. Special. Im Proud to be a recommended supplier of music.

Fab location, food, pool, spa treatment was amazing. Lovely walks around the grounds and countryside overlooking Cheltenham race course. Bathroom was a delight with huge free standing bath. Breakfast very very good. Staff absolutely delightfully warm, welcoming and helpful.

Room was beautiful, clean and neat. Very relaxing and exceeds expectations, breakfast was delicious and well presented. Staff were very polite and went out of their way for us. My wife broke her foot mid stay and the staff couldnt have done more to help us and make our stay amazing despite the misfortune. We will be returning in the future! I can t recommend enough, it s worth every penny.

Extremely relaxing weekend treat. Facilities are luxurious, the setting is historic and interesting. Our minor issue was that there weren't enough vegetarian/vegan options available on the menu to make dining in the restaurant worthwhile. Also, running out of vegetarian sausages on the second morning breakfast was quite embarrassing for a five star spa hotel.

Trying to understand (both in disucssion with them and via website) what they are actually offering for lunch and where you will be able to sit (when booking well in advance) seems a bridge too far for this team.

Just cancelled a special day because I can't get a straight answer - or the same answer from any two people

Disappointing.

Fortunately there are many other lovely places to visit in the vicinity.

Stayed for a wedding and from arrival to check out the place was fantastic. The room was lovely and we were offered a turn down service. Food was great and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They tried their hardest to get our room ready early as we had a 1 year old baby with us and went to lots of effort to help us for breakfast the next morning too. Also a lovely setting overlooking the race course.
