We went as a family of 5, very disappointed, very little to do in way of playground for kids, nothing has been updated since 7 years ago when I went last. There was no seating area for breastfeeding infants. I ended up feeding in the staff room of the employees! Felt like a second class citizen! What no comfortable seats anywhere!

Beautiful scenery, amazing architecture, its great fun and truly enjoyable as there are new exhibits every year, my favorite so far has been the space exhibit. They teach a great amount on how to be more eco friendly and it includes everywhere around the globe, the food is great and while i had issues catering for my dairy allergy and taste preferences for most people its great with things such as quiche or pie on the menue, ice cream is sold and drinks aplenty! The gardens are truly beautiful and ive never seen anything like it. Truly a great experience and incredibly memorable, feels like your in another world when you're there and so many activities for people to do, i would recommend strongly to everyone to go at least once in your life or youll miss out!
Fantastic attraction for the whole family. Huge selection of flowers and the site us laid out wonderfully. To experience the Mediterranean and rainforest biomes is fantastic and you can easily feel lost in these little worlds. I highly recommend visiting.
A very hot bank holiday weekend with stunning scenery. A big bonus was that I did not see one gardener working, no hosepipes over paths like you would at other gardens and yet all the flowers were perfect. I also noticed how tidy the area was. It was a very hot day and my only criticism is that perhaps they could have sold ice creams earlier. My 7 year daughter and I had a lovely time and cannot wait to return.
This place is probably one of the best I've visited in the UK! A remarkable concept, perfectly delivered, putting a unique experience in easy reach of all. Excellent facilities for young, old, able & not so. Plenty of healthy food choices. Absolutely fantastic!
Really enjoyed the rain forest bio dome. Too may food outlets for me. Very commercial not what I was expecting I went for plants not restaurants. Bit of a walk from some car parks though
nice place, but... if you truly want to change the world with your eden project, please quit this money-making mechanism; and oh, just a note : please serve water from the tap and not in aluminium cans! and use less plastic also...
This place is huge! So, I won't repeat the other reviews. However, I will say that although quite good, it feels like it needs longer to "mature" everything seems to new even though it's been there for years now.
I think that the site will be great for the future generations.
The train ride is excellent, allowing great views of the domes.
This is a great venue but ! Called in with family for lunch . It was presented well unfortunately all the sides(vegetables) where barely warm. A huge disappointment . Nobody available to raise an issue . Not planning on going back to eat
An amazing journey to the Rain Forrest and exotic gardens of the East. The kids enjoyed running around the whole facility bashing into flowers, walls, rockeries and sculptures. I have always wanted to go and it was worth the life long wait coupling a 7 hour drive. Beautiful flowers, vegetables, water features and live music playing in the arena. We managed to get through the shop at the end without ruining the debit cards however, I did manage to buy some lovely local cider and honey. As we got back to the car park we noticed several toys in the buggy that we didn't purchase. Naughty little William.
We spent over 2 full days there and still had things we had missed. Fully inspirational, the kids (6 and 10) loved all of it. I would fully recommend going to as many of the science talks as possible. These were given by real scientists, on thought provoking and controversial points.
Lovely place however if you go to the Mediterranean pizza outlet you need to allow at least 45mins before you food even arrives and pizza came out burnt and cold.
Cool place to visit, especially if you have an interest in plants/trees. Kids can find some areas a bit too hot and humid as well as getting bored because it is "just some plants" .
It is possible to spend 4-5 hours here, but this is one of those places where you can visit again within the same year (and are encouraged to!) if you tick the Gift Aid option when buying a ticket online. Great gift shop options and easy access via cab from Apple 1 car park (if you miss the last bus).
Excellent day out. Came here with my 4 year old and she loved it.
The walk down into the main area is a fantastic way to see the whole site and well worth the effort, we found it was best to walk down and get the tractor land train back up the hill.
Good shoes are needed, even though it was hot. The rainforest biome was awesome. Loved the rope bridge at the high point if the dome and the cloud bridge. My wife loved the cooling room part way round.
The whole area is immaculate and really well looked after. We took a picnic as we expected the food prices to be really high but in actual fact they weren't too high and we were a bit sad we missed out trying their food.
I found the whole experience fragmented and I felt that this place lacks 'a story' or a clear purpose. It is impressive, but I just didn't get what the project tries to achieve. It is so many things at once and none of them at the same time.
Been many times since it was opened and it never fails to impress. First time we have been to the Core but was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed a very interesting talk by Katie on the sun. She was so good with the children. Had a lovely meal in the Mediterranean Restaurant which although maybe a little expensive was nice. The light show in the domes was excellent.
Family family day (or three!) out. It is too big too see in one day, though you can revisit for free as many times as you like for a year. Great food, plants, animals, and exhibitions. Be sure to take a walk through the jungle and med biomes. Huge gift shop.
We last went to Eden in 2001, and it was wonderful to return and see how it has developed and grown....WOW! We arrived first thing and left 9 hours later and although we had fitted loads in and had been there so long, we had explored at quite a leisurely pace as it's so well signed and laid out, with plenty of areas to sit and relax, and no one was exhausted at the end of the day. The staff we encountered were all fantastic - so friendly and help. The site is immaculate and so clean. Although we had no pushchairs or wheelchairs, access seemed very good - our party ranged from 3 - 80 years and everyone coped perfectly. The attention to detail is incredible, including low-level hand-driers for children and the environmental responsibility is faultless...from bins accomodating every type of rubbish, freely available water taps and fountains, toilets using rain water, even selling magnets made from recycled plastic cups. If Eden can do this, why can't others...? The trip to Mars experience was brilliant! The exhibitions in The Core were fantastic! Both our daughters (9 and 3) went on the ringo's, which they loved! We all went to the Spiral Garden for the 'Grandparents and Under 5's' activity, which was lovely...I could go on! Quite simply, we can't praise Eden highly enough! Apart from our tickets, the only extra money we spent was on Eden ice creams - which were delicious of course! - and in the gift shop! The experiences and additional activities were all free! Word of advice...if you want to go to the top of the rainforest, go early...they close the walkway when it reaches a certain temperature. We joined the queue before 10.30 and they closed it just after us...by the time we reached the top, it was almost 40 degrees...it gets hot very quickly and very early! Definitely worth the wait and climb...the view was amazing and even our daughters managed it! I hope it's not another 17 years before we return! Well done Eden - what you've achieved is absolutely fantastic!!!
One of the most engaging places ever been to. , from grandparent to baby. Awe inspiring place we need such people with vision to lead with these educational and entertaining enviroments
Eden Project is one of my favourite places because it's a example of how an economically depressed area can be regenerated by one large project. It brings people from around the world to this great botanical garden. But it's much than that. There are great events (Roald Dahl for halloween), learning opportunities, good food, ethical gift shop, employment and volunteering opportunities. Oh, forget a great zip wire and its own YHA where you stay in lovely shipping containers! Accessibility is very good and there are wheelchairs available. If you use public transport you can get a discount on the entry price.
Had a lovely time. The gardens were quite pleasant and the gardens beyond the main biomes had plenty to offer. The biomes themselves were quite interesting, but walking around the rest of the area was my favorite part. The food as some have mentioned is not cheap, however it is not unreasonable. Certainly worth a several hour excursion.
What a fantastic experience. We took our daughter who loved the Easter trails and special events as well as the roof top walkway high above the rainforest. The food options were also surprisingly good and high quality. Overall a great experience to be highly recommended.
Fantastic place to visit with the family I ve been here 2 times and it was amazing it would take me hours to list all the good things about this place!
Fully commercialized attraction. Once you enter the compound you see signs where you can spend more money rather than directions. The domes just not justify the entry charges.
So, this place is incredible, inspiring and fundamentally one of the best environmental achievements this side of rising Pompeii from its own ashes. People criticise the heat of the domes, the price of the food and about the project being totally associated with plants. This is a project to prove to children and adults alike that you can turn an open cast mine into a beautiful landscape, with brilliant architecture to boot. If you don't like the heat in the biodomes (be prepared it can be between 30-35c) then there's lots more to see. Science not your thing then walk around the landscaped gardens. Too expensive to eat? Not really. Cheaper than my local pub for a good meal. Great day out with the family and if you get an annual pass you can share it with the gardens of helligan too. Buy your tickets in advance to get a 10% discount too. It's great. Just go...
Reasons why to go to the Eden Project: Eye opening A lot of work has been put in Food was lovely For many ages Good shop
Reasons why not to go: We were overcharged on the food Some of the staff weren't very nice. I sat next to one of them on the bus and they made a face at their colleague. Expensive
We really liked Eden, especially as we used a 2 for 1 offer from Gardeners World to get in. Even though it was late in the season, the gardens were still lovely, and the biomes full of unusual plants. It was shame there were some groups of schoolchildren running wild, completely unsupervised - weekends might be better!
We tried to come with our little parrot (with harnaiss) and they refused us. Staff told us people can be scared but everybody is coming with big dogs and that's no problem (haha). It is written on website that animals are not allowed in biomes, that I completely understood, but they refused everything. We drove 3 hours, thanks guys. Better spend my money with open-minded staff and places.
This place is a must for anyone visiting the area for a few days. The biomes are fascinating and well fleshed out with plenty to see, and the surrounding grounds have been decorated with recycled sculptures of various critters and abstract constructions. We attended back in 2014 and the food areas were very clean and well presented with a huge choice of food and drink. We only had a cake and a coffee but full hot meals and lunch choices were readily available. I will definitely be coming back if I am in the area again, and with a money off your entry ticket for The Lost Gardens of Heligan there's even more reason to continue exploring this lovely part of the south-west.
I loved it here! Such a huge place and lots to see. Incredible weather and good value for money! The bio domes are so unique it's really nice to see diversity :)
Amazing place for both children and adults. Enough to keep both entertained for the day. The work the teams have done here to bring this to life (literally) is phenomenal. The ongoing efforts to grow and expand are obvious. Really recommended. Great food here too for lunch.
Visited when it first opened and again April this year what a difference everything has grown so much very impressed good helpful staff will be going back breaks up my fishing trip to church cove nicely
Commercially environmental... a bit paradoxical. The group itself clearly has a deep and very real interest in all things natural however, it is surprisingly expensive to do anything here. Money woes aside, this day out is a phenomenal one that should be experienced by all at least once in a lifetime. Truly marvellous and spectacular throughout. Very well furnished for disabled or elderly. And although understandably dogs are not allowed in the biodomes the rest of the site is dogfriendly. Advise going very early and seeing the rainforest dome before the heat of the day makes it unbearably humid. Advise going early in your holiday and making your entry fee a donation as that entitles you to go as many times as you want at no extra cost as there is more to see and do here than you can fit into one day. Be prepared for large crowds but a very efficient parking system with free park and ride and free land train. We went during a dinosaur event which was great for kids and adults alike with large animatronics and informational storytelling
If everyone who visited makes even a slight change to their lifestyle to improve the planet, then the visit has been successful. A very interesting place to see.
I loved the tropical garden, which was by far the best part. Many of the other areas were interesting, but not inspirational. I thought there were too many eating areas, which made me wonder if it's now more of a money making exercise and some of the cutlery, cups and toilet facilities were not as clean as I would have hoped, however the Mexican food was very tasty and not too bad value.
One word: breathing! Do you like having a good day out? Yes? Great, book your ticket. The Eden Project is breathtaking. The biodiversity that you can discover under the domes is just amazing. The learning centers are very entertaining and for kids are the right mix between play and learn. To walk through the entire park it takes 3.5hr ish. If you book online and donate it to the Eden project the reward you with a free annual pass.
We have locals passes otherwise it is exspensive It is disabled friendly a bus drops off close to the visitor centre from the car parks and a land train from there to close to the biome s There is wheelchair and pram / pushchair access in both biome s Plenty of things for the children to explore outside and plenty of places for a picnic Children's activities for half term etc are good but cost extra We enjoy going and the grandchildren love looking for what's changed each time
An amazing, unique and iconic attraction but looking a bit worn around the edges. The cafe at the dome entrance is slightly shambolic and somewhat let's the site down
Really enjoyed the project. Wanted to come for many years and finally made it, and boy was it worth it! It's an eco dream with lots to see and do and provides a brilliant learning environment for children. We visited in half term and there was a Roald Dahl theme plus an ice rink.
We stayed on site at the yha ship containment cabins. Whilst they were small, they were clean and tidy and had all facilities including a tv. Just make sure you check your booking and have a copy of payment as this caused a few problems initially. The rooms were very well priced for a family room (double bed and a bunk bed).
The only fly in the ointment was not being able to buy a cooked breakfast at the Eden Project. In fact, the offerings would not look out of place in Starbucks or Costa Coffee - muffins, crossaints, various lattes etc., not in keeping with the Project we thought.
An amazing day with so much to see. Split into two major biomes (As well as outdoor gardens) - Mediterranean and Rainforest, the site is a wealth of information on plants and ecology, and a beautiful way to experience these first hand. No plastic replicas, simply life and greenery. If you re in the area it s highly worth visiting.
Large car park on site, with shuttle bus service. There are also a small number of electric car charging points. Sign posting to get there is a little painful to follow, and google maps takes you unusual backroads, but should get you there. But well worth the patience.
Overall, the Eden Project is a successful investment. In various habitats flora and limited fauna of the tropics and the subtropics are shown quite vividly. The outdoor area, which is very spacious, is beautifully laid out and revealing. However, the merciless commercialization of this project jumps from every corner, starting with the salted admission prices (as a family you get rid of a 3-figure amount) and continuing on through the catering to the usual franchise products. All in all, but worth seeing!
Advertises itself as dog friendly, but it's not. Service everywhere is appallinglying slow. Only 3 people in front of us at the ticket line but it took 20 mins to get in. And don't get me started on the catering staff. I've seen more life in a piece of cheese.
We were very impressed with the set-up. It was not cheap but I still think it presented good value as after a full day exploring the biomes we still didn t get to see all the grounds. There are lots of interactive exhibits and the winding paths that invite exploration, equal fun for young and old.
This unique experience to see thousands of plants from around the world has been significantly developed since our first visit here when the site was opened in 2001. The outside gardens are well established and the rainforest and Mediterranean biomes are just amazing! As much of the site is undercover it lends itself to visit on a showery day. Allow at least 2.5 hours to get around.
The Eden Project, masters of sustainability and ethical business, before it was mainstream. This is such an inspirational and educational place to visit, with bite sized information, paired with longer explanations and story telling and stunning exhibits and displays. I love this place and must go back again for more inspiration. This place has actually inspired me in my coffee and zerowaste shop and helped me to be more sustainable and responsible.
Great place for adults And kids over 8 at least ( not for the little ones) Reason being... it's Very educational and they need to be old enough to be able to understand and implement The domes are magnificent and great for plant enthusiasts! We went when the dinosaurs were there. So a must see in that aspect
We live locally and have run holiday cottages for 15 years. Now I don't even recommend Eden to guests as so many say such a rip off....especially the refreshments and food. I feel embarrassed when a family spend so much on the entrance fee and food, When you consider the price they pay for a whole cottage for a week! The huge amount of funding this place has received it surly should do better.... Considering privately owned attractions so close by and by far far better....it was a gimmick thats not a gimmick anymore!
Have always wanted to go here since reading an article about it. Well worth a visit here. Simply a great day out with plenty to see and do. Nice food available too, if not a tad expensive.
great space kept whole family engaged. my 4yr old loved running around and all the secret gardens. learning about the different plants. was a wonderful experience also enjoyedthe food ,the reasonably priced arts and crafts. would highly recommend for someone interested in nature and photography. also did the zipwire and was a great view of the project and good thrill. we went during the Dinasour show season and my 4year old absolutely loved it as he is very interested in them. all in all very educational and great fun for family no matter age. even the baby enjoyed.
Fabulous place. So much to see and do but WOW. The entry fees are unbelievably expensive. This alone would put me off from returning. The biodomes are awesome. The staff are friendly. The whole attraction is well organised and well planned out. Great interactive events for children throughout the attraction. Beautiful plants and flowers. It s a long walk to and from the car parks. The land train wasn t running when we visited and the long steep walk back to like car park was too much for my 80 yr old mum. We did a lot and learnt a lot but will not be returning at those prices. Just way too expensive for the average family.
