Eden Project is one of my favourite places because it's a example of how an economically depressed area can be regenerated by one large project. It brings people from around the world to this great botanical garden. But it's much than that. There are great events (Roald Dahl for halloween), learning opportunities, good food, ethical gift shop, employment and volunteering opportunities. Oh, forget a great zip wire and its own YHA where you stay in lovely shipping containers! Accessibility is very good and there are wheelchairs available. If you use public transport you can get a discount on the entry price.
