I booked a reservation and I wasn t even able to get to use the reservation because I had such a bad experience over the phone prior to even checking in. I am a honors member and was just needing to add my sister in the special instructions since she is the one that will be checking in and the response I received was we re not doing it that s ridiculous. I ve never had an issue with Hilton hotels before today. I cannot believe how rude this manager was and how he wasn t willing to provide me with any information about the general manager or corporate number. I canceled my reservation immediately after this call. Managers name is Ernesto at this location his general manager is mike powers who apparently works at the hotel but doesn t have a direct number. I will never stay at a doubletree by Hilton again.

Attended a company party in the garden area of the hotel earlier this week. It was a beautiful setting. They had tray pass apps that were all delicious (though I could've gone for a lobby waffle since it is a hotel).

Nice hotel with good rooms. Not so many restaurants in the area. The car parking service managed to make scratches on our car, which we unfortunately did not see before half an hour after we left the hotel.

Hilton needs at least a jacuzzi, restrooms were clean, rooms clean, lobby clean, elevator seem dated needed some paint, overall my only concern it s how low the parking structure is, I drove in an explorer and hech it felt like I was about to hit the roof, when I opened my truck it bearly hit the ceeling, something can t be fixed now I guess, overall great experience!!

2 stars and it's just for the location. $200 a night for a room with broken curtains and not even a microwave. I called on Friday to make sure everything was set and they don't inform you that they keep in hold $300 from your credit or debit card in case something ends up damaged, and if you don'thave it, be ready to have your booking canceled (that was the in between the lines). Took a picture of the curtain just in case they plan on charging me for it. Luckily, I won't have this same experience twice. Never again in a Doubletree! Customers are not a priority, at least on my experience. If you are planning to stay, remember the $300 extra and take pics of every damaged or broken thing you find just so you can wash your hands from any extra charge for another's irresponsibility.

I would NEVER GO BACK to this HOTEL. Bathrooms were small, had no microwaves, stains on the lamps, thinking it's the Double Tree by Hilton but not up to what Hiltons standards as it should be. Room wall was falling apart along the window area, crumbs on our floor by the second bed as if house keeping forgot to vacuum. Just all in all very disappointed with this Hotel. Paid over $300 dollars for our room and should of been more luxurious then it was. My first Double Tree Hotel By Hilton that was a discussed and a big disappointment to me and my husband. Other Double Tree hotels that I've been to by Hilton never had any complaints. And one other had house keeping opening our door while we were in our room. Not quite or peaceful place here. Also at breakfast they made my husband Roberto Rodriguez feel as if he was some bum trying to get some free breakfast this morning, harassing him as if he wasn't a guess. My husband was the one who checked us in. We had paid for breakfast when we checked in. A very uncomfortable feeling. So long for this hotel by Hilton it's your place do something on the upkeep of ur hotels please, and the workers on how they make their guess feel. U have every right to know what's going on.

Had a horrible interaction with the valet manager, or manager. Whatever he was... I worked on a wedding there today, my parking was to be comped by the bride. When we parked with valet, we were asked to provide the room number and bride's name. We provided them with the information, then the manager told us that he wouldn't accomadate us, and informed that we couldn't have our cars until we paid $50!
The bride had gone off to the wedding venue... We had to call her, interrupt her day, and get a second approval. I've never dealt with such an ass. He was beyond rude the moment we spoke with him. I will not refer this hotel to anyone.. there's no need for this attitude... when we were told by the valet, in the morning that it would be ok.

Was a great stay in Little Tokyo for a business event. The conference rooms were great, the amenities were also and the room was clean albeit a little on the old side. The air vent didn t do much circulating but it was a decent king room. The proximity to a lot of food items and other things in the city helped.

The best part was the Kyoto Gardens in the middle of the hotel - go have lunch there, go drink a coffee there. It s terrific.

Highly recommended! I like staying at this hotel because the ambiance is so relaxing! They even offered me some discount coupons which is so thoughtful of them! Plus their food and service are also outstanding!

I tied up with my daughter here for a few days while visiting LA.
I enjoyed the location of this hotel so it was easy to carry around.
Staff are friendly.
But there was no fan in the bathroom, so it was not good ventilation and the outside noise was bad.

The only problem is the parking is too high. Currently, it's $40 for self parking and $48 for valet. I parked at Aiso for $17 overnight.
Also, my room was a small awkward triangular shape but I'm not sure that's the case for all rooms.

Not a bad hotel, but...

I'll get the plusses out of the way, since there aren't that many.

Warm chocolate chip cookies at check in. Nice little surprise after a long travel day. Sets the tone for a great stay. Here's a tip: Ask for one anytime. The staff gladly will give you more!

The "fitness center" is decent. Good equipment and more than just the "empty hotel room" size that most hotels try to pawn off on guests.

Japanese garden. Nice little getaway...if you can get into it. As often as not, you'll get chased out by staff since it's in high demand for other stuff. There are ways to do this that aren't rude, but the staff person I dealt with hadn't been trained in such things yet...

Continental breakfast. Nope. They'd rather serve an overpriced, underquality breakfast at their restaurant. Or if you like they'll sell you fruit and yogurt a la carte in the lobby for nearly the price of cab fare. Honestly, there is a great little place about 2 blocks away: JiST Cafe. Look it up; you won't be disappointed.

Pool? Nope. Hot tub? Don't be silly. You are paying premium prices, but don't expect premium amenities. Well, there are chocolate chip cookies. That makes up for everything right?

Okay, the big deal for me (and pardon me if I rant here, but it really irks me) is how freaking hard is it to provide decent wifi in this day and age? Yes, they offer "free" wifi, but I shouldn't have to work so hard to access it.

When you choose your wifi, a web page (sometimes...) opens that forces you to sign on as a guest, but big red letters remind you that if you really have needs they'll sell you more bandwidth! If you choose "Complimentary Guest wifi" you'll be assured that it is "for ONE day!"...or you can join Hilton Honors. Mmmmmmkay...well Hilton Honors is a free thing, so I'll try that.

Aaaaaaaand, nope. Doesn't work on iPad. Trundle on down to the lobby in the business center and use one of the hugely disabled computers there. Finally am a Hilton Honors member. Yay? *sigh*

Now splash screen --PAY FOR MORE!!! COMPLIMENTARY FOR ONE DAY!!!--comes up. Now I have to agree to terms. Okay. New screen: enter username, password, last name, and room number. Oh, and agree to EULA terms AGAIN!! Okay. Now..... New screen! WTF? Oh, enter last name, Room Number, and click EULA terms again. And now we're finally on the internet.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! If you step away for a few minutes, you lose connection, and YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE PROCESS AGAIN!! And here's the kicker....sometimes it doesn't work, and you get to enter everything two or three times. Just to get internet access for a few minutes, that WILL drop out again, forcing the user to go through the whole 4 screen process numerous times.

So....here I am in the Lobby "Executive center" on their sucky computers (Seriously, mine shut down and restarted on me twice last night" writing this review. Why? Well, because my iPad lost wifi access in the middle of the night sometime and Siri decides to wake me up to tell me in a panic that she has no internet access. Unable to return to sleep now, I try to access the internet and do some reading until I get tired. After 45 (*&@*ing MINUTES of trying to access (*&@*ing wifi, I came down to the lobby to write this review.

So yeah...Cookies are decent, but they do not make up for the lack of amenities, the nickel and diming of customers, or the horrible song and dance that some doofus thinks is wifi security.

Would I recommend this place to a friend? No! A thousand times, no.

At the conference I belonged to, I could stay at a cheap hotel in downtown, so it was Hilton or Plaza. Basics I did not stay in downtown. Only for academic societies. After all it is dangerous, even if it is a hotel of this class, if there is little tip, even the correspondence was sharp.

Review for gardens only:

It's beautiful. A hidden gem in Little Tokyo and open to the public. When you enter the hotel through the main entrance go to the right and take the far elevators up to the "G" floor. It opens to the gardens on your left. It's cozy but very relaxing. I'm definitely coming g back and showing it off!

Bonus: the lobby has some wonderful art on display (as of Aug 2016) and the bar has good drinks. A win!

Very cool hotel, excellent location. Clean, modern, that garden and the views! WOW!

LA at night! Sigh, so beautiful. The staff helped me with the best room, did I mention the views?Great breakfast too

The appearance of the exterior of the building was pretty. The lobby area was nice. However when I got to my room I was disappointed. For the price, the rooms are very small. The bathroom appeared to have urine stains around the toilet and the shower pressure was horrible and there was no hot water. I had the shower turned all the way up to the hottest and it was lukewarm at best. The bed was comfortable but I did not like the setup as the TV was in the opposite corner of the room, farthest from the bed. It was not a bad night's stay but for the price I will not be returning. Oh I almost forgot to mention that they do not tell you that there is a $41 parking fee on top of that price.

The hotel is really nice from both outside and inside. It has an accessible small garden at the higher floor that is also connected to the court plaza next to the hotel where there are a market, a bookstore and restaurants available to go to. Very convenient and fun to stay at.

I had a pleasant experience staying at this hotel with my husband and children for 6 nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Even though we arrived at the hotel few hours earlier than the check in time, the staff still arranged a two double bed room for us quickly. The location is excellent as we can go to the city in walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Very quaint hotel, the interior was nice and the atmosphere was equally nice. Didn't stay here, but just attended an event at one of the ballrooms. It is right there at the outskirts of little Tokyo, so lots too see. If I needed to stay in downtown/ little tokyo,I would definitely try this.

We were on the top floor and had wonderful city views. The front desk staff were helpful. It wasn't anything super special. The bathroom did have mold. We spent more time exploring little Tokyo so I don't mind.

Nice and clean, had a work related holiday party there and the waiters and bartenders gave us good service. There does not seem to be any free parking around the lot for visitors but bus stops for dash are nearby

The room was clean, and service was good. Beer selection at the bar was good. Breakfast in the morning wasn't great, and if I hadn't had vouchers because I'm a Hilton diamond member, I'd say it's way over priced. Parking situation is OK, not great. Parking prove was certainly more reasonable than other hotels. Location is near not so wonderful part of the city, and very loud with police going by frequently.

This hotel has every opportunity to be awesome and yet comes up short on most everything. Room service: uses an adjoining restaurant with a very limited menu, food comes really fast but very spendy! Pot of coffee, french toast and a glass of milk. $45.00! Two very very annoying things. No one is ever available when you call downstairs, attempted to bring up the fact that for two weeks, every channel on TV freezes after watching it for only a few seconds. When I finally got ahold of someone, they couldn't care less. My recommendation, stay at the checkers a few miles up the road. It's a Hilton property as well and much more accommodating.

I had a great time staying at your Hotel last week. The place was very wide and tidy. Their staves were also very friendly and accommodating. The food that they served was also very delicious and mouthwatering. What a nice service in the area, guys! I must strongly recommend your services to everyone!

The location and the rooms are well cleaned but the lights for the room are lamps and the bathroom is the only light sensor and switch for the room. The staff are really generous and helpful with any request.
