Place looks nice and they are always filming here. It's walking distance to Little Tokyo with access to many restaurants and shops.
We opted for the breakfast package and I am so glad we did! Selection was great and everything was fresh, you could tell the buffet attendants really did their job!
The Kyoto Garden floor is exquisite.. lovely place and completely transports you away from Los Angeles. Staff was kind and friendly, and overall the place was very well kept.
The rooms were clean and the beds and amenities were nice. Good amount of storage space (especially since we were staying to attend anime expo) and came with a mini fridge. The location is really close to a market and Starbucks so it's easy More
Cozy hotel not too big or small near great restaurants and historical buildings. Great nightlife area. Not far from other Los Angeles tourist attractions.
I enjoyed my trip to the double tree. We went for an escape room event that was held in their convention hall. The hotel was clean and the staff were courteous. I would definitely consider staying here on a future visit to the city
I will never stay here again, front desk was not nice at all. I had a 3 night stay and was only able to stay 1 night and that's only because I was tired.
Comfortable room and courteous staff. The Hertz Car rental kiosk was not so handy.
Nice rooms, right near Little Tokyo so there's as lot of great things to eat.
It was nice, a little on the experience side. Staff was friendly.
Spectacular hotel in the heart of Los Angeles in downtown ... Clean, well-kept hotel and friendly staff always present ...
Daily room cleaning, large bright room with a show in the evening where it overlooks the city lights ... if you are in Los Angeles I recommend this hotel ... It also has a parking lot where Porter leave your car and immediately near sturbackas ...
Exceptional location large room clean and functional bathroom and friendly and helpful staff, pity only for the WI FI available on the ground floor
The hotel was really nice. They made my stay a great one.Definitely will recommend to others.Great place to stay downtown.
Stayed here during a recent business convention at the downtown convention center and this was one of the recommended options. Inside, this is a really nice hotel. My room was nice and clean, the bar and restaurant are great and the service is top notch. Unfortunately the location is really bad and frankly unsafe, especially at night. I was awakened several times at night by police sirens and helicopters. Driving to and from the hotel was like going through the ghetto. Its unfortunate as this is a nice hotel, it's just in a bad spot. The tradeoff is it's much cheaper than being right next to the convention center.
Little bit old hotel but it is quite clean. Main restaurant is moderate. Location is so great to access heart of LA
Easy booking and check-in. Parking isn't free. Internet isn't free. No complimentary water in the room. Location is great, next to grand park where we spent out New Year's Eve. Restaurants and shops are all around the area. Uber costs $12-15 to Hollywood Walk of Fame (Hollywood blvd and highland)
There's a Starbucks downstairs as well.
Rooms are clean.
Shower didn't work well. Outside access to the Zen Garden from the oriental food court was prohibited without signage. The window on the 11th floor could be fully opened; safety hazard. No service on the tv. Room service was shut down and secondary options were not offered. Was not worth the price tag. This is no Double Tree, it was barely half a shrub.
Staff was great but our room had seen better days. The room had a lot of noise pollution from outside, I spent 5min checking to see if housekeeping left it open, nope, it was just very old and didn't seal well.
The hot and cold water, actually it had to be one or the other. Usually you can get warm water by adjusting h/c water valves but this wasn't the case. Even if you barely turn on the hot water, it would override the cold water and now you have scalding hot water.
To top it all off, my wife was using the hairdryer and got shocked. She noticed that there was a hole in the dryer and reported it and got half off the room for the day. She was content with that but if I got shocked, all hell would break lose. A hotels negligence can result in a death and comping our stay wouldn't be enough.
I really love the interior and exterior design of the hotel feels like a homie to me a touch of elegance and nature. The environment are too good and also the deluxe massage ugghhhh so good that you fall asleep. Thank you for the good service!
Great location and a great deal for a downtown Los Angeles hotel. Service was wonderful and the rooms are comfortable. The garden is lovely and the hotel is a great place to host an event or a wedding.
Nice hotel with comforts. Friendly staff and our room was to our satisfaction. Good hotel for a trip to Los Angeles
It Loks like in the 80. Rooms Are big enough, Butter the bath is verry small.
There was Internet only for ca. 10$ a day / each Items!!! Free WLAN schould be standard.
In the Room the AC is verry loud.
In the morgen there are protesters. It's verry loud.
They will need to improve cleaning of common areas. Rugs in the hall way are dirty and with bad odour
Went for an event, didn't get a room. It is clean and the staff is professional
It's a nice hotel. Good amenities and food. The Japanese garden is a nice touch. The traffic noise is terrible though. Nothing but police sirens and car horns all night long. Not recommended for price of stay.
The Japanese Garden is amazing!! It was a great spot to enjoy a break during a day long business conference.
It was a nice experience at DoubleTree. It was very clean and I loved the atmosphere of the hotel.
Great service from friendly staff! Room was a king suite and was very clean and had great view of DTLA
It's nice!! The beds are soft and the view from the room is nice. However, there are no microwaves which is highly inconvenient for a hotel.
This hotel was very nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff very friendly, and it has an impressive lobby. I would definitely stay here again.
If you don t have to stay in downtown, then definitely find something else. Why?! Simple, once you go out the hotel you will land into homeless land .
Anyway, my review will be definitely about the hotel. So, the rooms are almost okay, the staff people are great, unfortunately what disturbed me was the type of people that were in the hotel: if is no smoking policy, I don t understand why the people disobey the policy. On our way out someone was smoking in the elevator.
I totally get it: we are in the middle of a crazy pandemic time, but I don t get why the catering/delivery guy is allowed to go upstairs to deliver the food to the room? My problem was that I felt totally unsecured having people around being covered from head to toe. If something unexpected happened, you had no way to identify those people.
And my last issue was the parking lot: $41/night full of garbage.
People life matter as well the garbage that you leave behind matter....
Clean, beautiful hotel in Little Tokyo, close to all the shops and dining.
The room we stayed at was a bit smaller than the typical doubletree, but that's expected from any hotel in a city's downtown. Overall a similar experience to other doubletree hotels.
The accommodations were very nice, room service great, my only problem was they would not give me the jury rate and this hotel
Was on the list for jurers!
Nice hotel, good breakfast, gym well equipped. Make sure you visit the gardens. So beautiful!!
Many people in LA do not like downtown and in vain. There is something to do here for a couple of days. This hotel is well located. Rooms are clean but small. If you do not expect something in excess, then an excellent option in terms of price / quality ratio.
Clean especially for an older property. Comfortable bed. Modern fitness room. Automated valet means you can text to get your car. Friendly staff.
Great comfortable staying at a reasonable price. Also great staff members.
Recently stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton in Los Angeles.
As we waited for Valet to greet us at our car, a homeless man, definitely strung out on drugs (or mental illness) approached my car.
Although the car windows were closed, this guy started yelling at us, and threatening to break my window (driver side) and side view mirror.
Fortunately some one yelled out, "HEY!" which distracted him, and moved on.
That was JUST the beginning. We got to our room, clean and nicely decorated. But quite surprised to see shredded drapery. Wow. Really? Almost $400 for one night... for what?
Greatly disappointed.
Terrible front desk service at night and ridiculous rates for self parking. Doubletree is much better than what we experienced that evening after a very long day at work.
Really Nice Staff and Beautiful Room. Ninja Con Was Awesome!!!
Magnificent hotel in the heart of the Little Tokyo district. Very quiet lobby and very clean and comfortable room with huge windows. Small Japanese garden to visit
Splendid
Fantastic hotel with an amazing staff! This is the perfect downtown location, right in the middle of Little Tokyo!
Overall very nice, especially impressed by the fitness room.
Nice room, crappy area. But worst of all charging for WiFi, when it's nearly $200 a night room.
The rooms would need a good cleaning.
Nice hotel but a bit older. It would be necessary to bring a little freshness
Place was clean.Very convenient location every things close by. You vave historical place nearby you can walk it or buses it. Starbuck next door, 7 eleven across the street. Security guards are very helpful if you needs directions or suggestion to where to go for visit.
Staff is immensely polite and friendly. Cleaning was subpar (someone else's leftovers in the fridge, and dirty washcloths hidden in the recesses of the bathroom). Location is extremely convenient, but is near a fire station or hospital and we heard sirens on the road below. Room and lobby are gorgeous.
A very clean and well-kept hotel.
We were guests in this hotel for a few days and felt very comfortable. The staff is very nice, courteous and helpful. The rooms are neat and large. We were lucky for two and got a room for 4 people. The bathroom was big enough and modern. There was new shampoo and fresh towels every day. The view was very nice through a picture window.
The minibar in the room was very loud. The air conditioning, however, made hardly any noise. There is a Japanese garden accessible via the elevator. It is very well maintained and is often booked as a party location. Unfortunately, hotel guests cannot enjoy this at this time. The restaurant in the hotel is great! Great staff, you eat great and the price-performance ratio is right. Starbucks is also located in this building.
Unfortunately I can only give 4 stars because of the modest location of the hotel. You always need a car. Parking is relatively cheap. We recommend the "Wakaba" car park. Here you only pay $ 10 a night. You have to look carefully when choosing the parking garages before parking, as the night price is often only in the small print. The hotel is located in Koreatown with lots of great little shops. However, the area is sometimes very questionable. That is where the homeless center is located and it is unfortunately very scary. At night I wouldn't go out on the street alone! (South San Petro Street). If you are traveling by car you can definitely book the hotel with a clear conscience. :)
The lobby is absolutely gorgeous, I enjoyed the event I attended, and just the overall atmosphere is well put together
The hotel is clean and comfortable. They have a beautiful garden. There's no free wifi unfortunately.
Wasnt there long just met up with some friends at their hotel room. It was a lot better than a lot of the hotels in the area room and staff wise
Scheduling a room over the phone and attempting to pay is a nightmare. I don't recommend going to downtown Los Angeles for anything ever, but if there is no escaping the need to be there, than I would go to another hotel, even if it costs more. Their cookies aren't even that good. Cookie to chocolate ratio is not ideal.
Accommodated my request for two beds and high floor, Starbuck's and two bars, in Japan Town, nice staff. Only negative is housekeeping never coming even tho they were on the floor when I headed out. I really liked staying here
Very nice hotel, the rooftop pool is a little run down. The downside to this hotel is the neighborhood it is in. There are homeless people all over the place and the streets smelled terribly. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful!
It's a pretty nice hotel. We had some room issues that needed some intensive repairs to solve. The management handled it pretty well though, and put us in a different room pretty quickly.
