Hilton Oakland Airport Review

Place is nice. Be careful if you order from menu in room. Prices are higher at restaurant. Even if order from room, they say room menu will be honored. Happened to me twice. Spoke with manager both times, months later still don't see a credit.

This is my first time staying at any of the Hilton hotels. My room was not ready when I arrived on a Sunday morning, but I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel while I explored the area. My room serves its purpose: a place to relax, sleep, and shower. The bed is not the most comfortable, and the pillows lose their shape rather quickly; not firm or supportive at all. The hotel laundry is out of service, so I had to send my dirty laundry for service, which was not cheap; I brought detergent from home, anticipating that I would do my own when I needed to. The location is very neat to the rental car return, and in turn, close to the airport, which is a plus. Another downside is that the parking is not free, even though I am a disabled veteran. I am not concerned with the decor, as some other guests have commented on previously, but the safety bar in the shower is dangerously close to detaching from the anchor, which is meant to hold it in place. The breakfast selection has plenty of variety, although it starts quite early (6-9am). Overall, it's not a fancy place, but it'll do.

No free WiFi?!?!?! Even Burger King has free WiFI.

I just got back from vacation with family in the Bay Area. I stayed at 3 different hotels and used this one as a home base. Other hotels had free WiFi. Even Evergreen Lodge near Yosemite (which is in the middle of nowhere) had free WiFi.

Had to pay for parking too. It wasn't much, but it was still irritating that Hilton felt the need to nickel and dime me like this.

The room was clean and the staff was excellent so it has the basics. However, WiFi is essentially almost a necessity now. Better hotels have it for free. Free laundry machines is a plus but one washing machine was out of order while I was there. My room had a fridge.

Overall, I'm dissatisfied since similarly priced hotels don't try to get you with these additional charges. Next time I'll remember to not assume hotels do not charge for these amenities.

This hotel is not in a good neighborhood. It requires that you park in their establishment and they charge $18 a day. The breakfast is $18 for adults, $12 for children, and the rooms, while decent size and clean, or nothing special.

The service is very poor. Lea -- at the front desk -- spoke in a monotone and was not very welcoming. The manager Lilian Virdure promised to get back to us on things we had problems with, but never did.

We called two days in a room for towels -- and no one ever brought them. A cleaning lady came at a 8am and when I explained that my son was sleeping, she vanished and never came back.

I do not recommend this for anyone but the wealthy who just don't care.

Very basic room. Bathtub did not drain properly. Was not impressed with this hotel for the amount they were charging per night. Not worth the money.

Pros: close to airport and stadiums. Provide shuttle to airport/Bart and stadiums.

Great hotel, but parking is a joke bordering on a scam. Have stayed here several times with great service and clean room each time. Parking in the other hand is not enough and no matter how fast you think you are, you'll pay for more time than you think you used. This week I was taken again for the minimum 4 dollar charge. I used my 30 minutes by standing in line and taking my luggage to my room. I came back to return car to airport rental and parking said I was 5 minutes past my 30. I didn't think that was the case by my watch. So be prepared to pay for parking time you didn't think you used.

Friendly staff, shuttle to airport every 20 min. Spacious rooms, small bathroom.

You have to pay for parking with tickets, which didmt work and it's broken into separate buildings. Just felt like an overpriced hassle. The "trim"in the building i stayed in seemed a little classic for the price. It's close to the airport though.

The service sucked the people were rude they charged my card 3 times and then told me I have to wait for them to take the hold off so I could get my money back and that would take up to 5 to 7 business days ridiculous other than that the best part was the pool was heated And the room was clean and nice but room service for one Burger with $30 so does in the machine $3 I think it's only for tourist

3. $160 for a night... Why?... There isn't even a fridge in the room.
4. Wifi costs and is stupid expensive.

... Stay away, not worth the cost.

I forgot my purse and turned around immediately to retrieve it the lady at front desk as well as manager gave me a verrrrrrrrry hard time about getting it back... they told me it would have to be placed in lost and found, my baby was with me and waited over an hour to retrieve my purse

Attended the CI Expo at the Hilton and couldn't have been treated better by the staff. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, from the restaurant staff to the parking attendant. Great place for a conference.

The beef meal for their hosted event was not that great (tough and not flavorful). Also after the event, there was no direction on how to get parking validated.

Truly a glorified motel. Not always picky with my lodgings but if you are, then this is not the place for you. Totally acceptable however, if compromises can be made.

Very outdated facility. Although there has been an effort to modernize the rooms, hallways are stained and smell of urine. The fitness center is decent. Airport shuttle runs every 20 minutes.

When I showed up they upgraded me, which was awesome! First night there was a mouse in my room. The hotel was great at moving me rooms but not what I expected from Hilton brand. Room looks nice but bathrooms are outdated. Still waiting for a manager to contact me.

Update:. Staff has been great. Offered Honors points for the inconvenience. They have been in constant contact to make sure I am satisfied with my stay.

I went to the Hilton for a work event, I had an amazing time. They serve just coffee catered lunch and then we stayed for a company party in the evening in the ballroom and it was absolutely wonderful the staff was super helpful and kind.

Had dinner here. Great food. Exceptional service from Britney!

Nice hotel very close to the Oakland airport. Very big hotel, rooms are very nice, unless you have the small double beds. Good breakfast in the morning if you have a coupon for it, expensive otherwise.

They only get two stars because of a great staff.. the room smells bad, the AC doesn't work, and the sheets are rough like sandpaper.. this is the worst Hilton I've ever stayed in.. I will never stay here again. And I say you should avoid it also.

Customer service is okay, but avoid west-facing rooms. Late afternoon sun warms room faster than A/C can keep up.

We have stayed here many times. It s clean and convenient. The reservations have been screwed up a few times but other than that it s a good place to stay at near the airport.

This hotel definitely needs upgrades. The lobby was dated. The restaurant and bar are in a separate building. The room was hot, and smelled like cat litter. Breakfast was good, but 21 dollars for the breakfast buffet!

Very nice rooms and comfortable beds. The gym is well equipped and had a second floor view of the courtyard and pool. Nice hotel at a reasonable rate for the bay area!

King size bed. Room comes with two towels, two hand towels and two face towels, Shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, soap, lotion and body wash, blow dryer Kleenex, small fridge and a large tv in the room. Received this for a reduced price of a little more than 200 dollars per night. Asked for late check out (2pm) due to a meeting nearby. Was assured that it was no problem. I received 2 knocks on the door starting at 10:30 from housekeeping asking if I was checking out. Then at 12:30 received a call from the front desk asking if I was checking out or not. After explaining the late check out request made yesterday, I was apologized to and all was well I Used the work out room, it was pleasant. Restaurant and pool was on the campus along with shuttes to city destinations.

Is a nice place for rest, and so near to the airport

Rooms are cool, garden style living with patio nothing over thed top to speak on. However, Earharts Tavern, Michael bar keep, makes best top shelf long island in da town!!!!

Parking is not free (about 14 usd), breakfast is not free and not really worth the cost (about 18 usd), check in was a bit of a hassle, but i think this is an isolated issue. room feels clean overall, found a couple stains on my bed sheets but no big deal. Exercise room is among the best I have used in hotels, great setup, great location overlooking the pool area. I was unable to find a place in the location I needed with the time I had, so this place suited my needs. For the price, and the availability in short notice, this was acceptable.

I stopped by to pick up some shoes my friend left behind. Even though they were busy and I wasn't a guest, they still made time for me.

Terrible hotel. Room smells bad...$15 a day parking and the staff is rude. Don't stay here. High crime area.

There's a shuttle that takes you to the Oracle arena, and will even pick you up if you call them, tip them 40 bucks for our group, saved us a bunch. Also you get free breakfast for 2.

The water pressure in the shower is so low that we almost could not bathe. Horrible

Very friendly staff. They handled our event quite well and were very nice.

The rooms are ok. But get a room on the second floor no matter what. All night long I've heard the person above me walking back and forth. And then they started singing along to the TV/radio around 6am. I could have sang along with them I could hear it that well. But listening to someone walking around above you all night? Not worth it

Unique layout of this hotel kind of makes it nice I never noticed the pool before and now I see they've got a actual gym area to workout one of the best sports bars in the town worth stopping in and check it out

Restaurant is clean and very personable staff. Good food for lunch.

Worst hotel ever. Pool is terrible. With the exception of the house keepers who were pleasant, they're all jerks. Wish I didn't spend my vacation here. Don't make the same mistake I did.

The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful friendly. One of the beds had Blood on it. I call the desk and was quickly moved to a new Room 2220 He also gave us Breakfast. However the next rooms bathroom was dirty. The cap missing on the foist and ot was full of cut hair yeiks!!! The Restaurant was clean and comfortable all personal was fast and Friendly

The Hilton Oakland Airport hotel was okay for the money. Average hotel, buildings seem moderately furnished. Room was comfortable but the overall layout of the hotel is confusing. Multiple buildings spread out over the property. Front desk is near the entrance but your room could be somewhat far from it. Bathroom was okay, no frills and a little outdated. Overall, for the money, not sure if it is worth it.

By far the most outdated Hilton I've ever stayed at. My room smelled of urine and the bathroom was as old as myself. Booked a king bed got two full beds. Ate at the onsite resturant and not only did they get my order wrong, they gave me grief when I sent it back. 6 overcooked chicken wings for $13 Bad experience to say the least, but the hot water did work. 3am update, I've been up twice now to s*** my pants, I'm not sure what they did to me but it burns with the intensity of a 1000 Suns. To quote Melissa McCarthy " It's coming out of me like lava!!"

I just stopped by and visited a friend. Hotel was clean and nothing was gross or out of sorts.

Far from the Bart even dough he stops right in front it is not allowed to exit or entry other than that a pleasant experience normal breakfast and low noise rooms

Thin walls and late night party. Front desk took a little while to handle the party.....not soon enough if your catching a 0630 flight. Ask for the top floor if your staying here!

Just your run-of-the mill airport hotel. Friendly staff and a decent amount of convenient services (like shuttles to various places). It's expensive, but that's normal for the convenience. The facility seems a touch rundown, but that's not the end of the world.

Room was nice and clean. Bath tub was old and something things a little worn. Overall not a bad experience.

This is the quietest low key hotel spot near and around Oakland aiport. Low or no vehicle traffic noise. Low or no airplane noise. Great black out curtains. Customer service could be better. Beware of mosquito's they do not play nice.

Your regular airport hotel, and exactly what you'd expect from Hilton. Clean, but faceless and devoid of personality, exactly like every other Hilton airport hotel you've been to.

It's a great place to stay if you just need a place handy to the airport, but it's not a destination. The hotel is like a campus with multiple buildings...kind of weird. But the staff is friendly a d the breakfast is tasty.

This hotel does not really provide the level of quality you would expect from a 'Hilton' grade Hilton. Rooms are dated, hotel seems old in general, and while this could be OK in general, you'd simply expect more. On the minus side, I was given a handicapped room without being told and the washroom was not convivial at all. I had to ask to be transfered room.

We stayed 2 nights. The front desk staff is very nice. But, the walls and ceilings of the room are paper thin. Don't stay here if you're looking for a quiet night's rest.
