Lovely hotel over priced had to ask for coffee milk not enough in room
Been there for a course. Nice venue and very friendly staff.
I had a 3 night stay at the hotel recently.
Good:
- The breakfast was surprisingly good.
- The front desk staff was really helpful.
- The room was clean.
Bad:
- Heating/cooling system is ancient
- The shower water pressure was way too low. This was very unexpected and prime reason why I won't be coming back.
- Missing modern amenities like chargers by the bed.
A really poor experience. A MOUSE!!! in my room. Whilst I was moved room the staff were poor on follow up. The 'Make it Right' does not apply here! Avoid if you can. ( A former Hilton advocate)
Completely outdated hotel. A true disgrace to the Hilton brand. This property should be deflagged and demolished
Nice looking hotel but the room given to us was on the ground floor and near the outside bins which meant constant noise and unpleasant smells. The actual room was ok but could do with better beds and updating in terms of decor.
Staff were pleasant and professional.
There are far better options for nice hotels in London. The staff at this hotel were rude, nothing in my room worked and there was mold/mildew in the bathroom ceiling. I would never stay here again.
Not cheap but a great location between Euston station and London 's West end.
The conference room was confortable with a quite good audio sys. The restaurant served a delicious continental breakfast and a tasty lunch. Overall high level experience.
Clean but rather basic. Good breakfasts and helpful staff.
Couldn't complain, room was small but spotless, downstairs was grand, professional and welcoming
Lovely 3 course meal, great selection of drinks available. All topped off with a nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. Highly recommend.
Very small rooms, but very nice lounge areas and courteous staff.
The location makes it the best aspect of this hotel. You can walk to the center. Otherwise: basic and outdated
Really nice hotel. Staff made you feel welcome as soon as you walked through the door. Definitely will be staying here again upon my next visit.
Friendly staff but the rooms are very old and the breakfast is disgusting. Only reason it sells at this price is the good location.
Good beer, good accommodation and dinner between friends.
Recommended!
Initial room 105 was awful. Very old and definitely not the standard you expect from Double Tree by Hilton. I complained and they moved me to a better room 140 which was of the standard you would expect. New room amazing
Overall it was a pleasant experience, with a few hiccups in the beginning. I opted for a guest room with breakfast included for 2 nights, however I was upgraded eventually to a king suite on the 5th floor with a great view.
Bed was great, very comfortable. Shower did a decent job, good water pressure. Coffee making facilities were what you would expect. Breakfast was a delight, an option between continental or English breakfast was on offer although reasonable requests other things didn't seem to be a problem.
All staff had masks on at all times and when handing over things they put on gloves so that the would be minimal contact made.
Full Review...
On arrival I was informed I had been given a complimentary upgrade to a queen suite, which was a pleasant surprise, however when I got into the room, the air conditioning was making loud bubbling noises that would certainly affect my ability to sleep well, and also some areas of the room definitely had not been cleaned, one example would be the fan grate in the bathroom had months worth of dust build up on it. Another issue was no anti-bacterial soap in the room.
After relaying these issues to reception they promptly sent up someone to clean the fan and soap, however although they brought soap, it was not anti-bacterial, and I was informed they do not have any anti-bacterial soap for the rooms, which was highly surprising, as we are still in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
After sorting out these issues the air conditioning noise couldn't be rectified anytime soon, so the member of staff went away to see if he could find any other rooms with better air conditioning noise levels. He returned 20 minutes later to give me another upgrade to their king deluxe suite, this sorted out the air conditioning problem instantly, however this room hadn't been cleaned well at all, with the signature dust build up on the bathroom fan, as well as dust on the bed headboard and dusty carpet behind some chairs.
However I could live with this as the room itself was amazing, a lovely view of some luscious green trees giving you plenty of privacy from neighbouring flats, and a lovely scene to wake up to.
Finally the breakfast was great, I opted for the English breakfast both mornings, and enjoyed it. The coffee was probably the highlight of the morning, excellent coffee provided, couldn't get enough of it.
Nice Service room. Well localized. Nice employees in the breakfast room. The breakfast could be better, some touch of different things every day, like cookies one day, the other day a different bread, fresh pressed orange juice sometimes. It looks like I eat every day the same for one week. The room is ok and very near of the British Musee and of some interesting quarters of London
Good hotel for visiting west end theatres. Disappointed as we didn't get our warm cookie at check in.
Service and breakfast very good, the rooms need to be updated
I was there to run a training session with some of the staff, so I wasn't able to see most of the hotel. The staff were smart, welcoming and very professional. The meeting room was very well equipped and perfect for the required needs of the group. Next time I'll make sure I have time to have some food as it looked great.
Great location with British Museum across the street and several restaurants close by.
Room awful. Booked a king suite and middle of night sewage smell in room and got down graded to twin where we were both sick all night. Very upsetting trip. Nothing offered.
Bit dated needs renovating. Rooms are small but tidy
Clean hotel but staffrude and unhelpful also falsely advertise they have parking on various websites but actually don't forcing you to pay for ncp car park and the manager Matice has no customer service skills do not bother visiting plenty of other hotels better in the area
Perhaps one of the smallest and most expensive hotels I ever stayed.
Well trained receptionists, good facilitates, reasonable price in good location.
Rooms are not great, stuff quite helpful , atmosphere is nice but rooms need to be renovated or at least properly cleaned.
Great hotel, Great location. Food quite good, service quite good. Big turn over of staff so never can build up friend ship with staff as on the next visit everyone has changed. I suppose that's standard in the hotel trade especially in capital sites throughout the world
Lovely place beds were pushed together which was uncomfortable and a shame. Otherwise excellent xx
What an horrible experience. We had lots of issue with the room... Shower liking with wet towels in the floor...mini fridge didn't work...rubbish in the floor...even the room number was broken.
Very good location for the West End and Covent Garden. Comfortable and stylish room with nice bathroom. Polite staff and good service.
Location was very straightforward walk from Euston station. Was there for a conference and the canapes provided by the hotel were delicious.
With one of the worse hotels in London.
The lobby gives a very upscale and cozy impression and the staff is friendly, but for me the room and the sleep are decisive, which is why I need an overnight stay!
The rooms are more than in need of renovation. Carpet very worn out as well as the bathroom. But cleanliness was good.
But what doesn't work at all is the bed. That cannot be described as such and is not justified by the price of the hotel! The mattress is an ancient spring mattress that is more than worn out. A 2cm topper has been placed over it to cover the coarsest, but that doesn't work at all. The mattress is placed on a kind of plastic box and slides back and forth. The headboard is made of leather but dissolves into all of its components at the head area.
There is virtually no window isolation (London Style) but I have seen it better. In any case, it is extremely loud, apart from what is happening in the hallway! There is no door isolation either. Clairaudient rooms ...
For the price, the room is a joke and I would love to let the manager sleep on the mattress for one night in room 204 ....
Comfortable, accommodating and welcoming. Always a pleasure to stay!
This was a fantastic hotel - I had some concerns beforehand after reading the reviews but I can t fault it! So beautiful, great service, lovely rooms and very quiet! Gorgeous comfy beds and a lovely chocolate cookie on arrival. Excellent location and only a five minute walk to the nearest tube. Will definitely return.
The floor of the room (events) entrance via left side of the reception, was a but dirty. Toilets are nice but they could be better. Reception could be a bit warmer.
Great breakfast over the weekend.
Came down for breakfast on Sunday, greeted by staff with great smiles, and the head manager blonde lady, didn t catch her name.
I can t thank the team at Double Tree Hilton West end enough. This is without a doubt one of the best stays I have ever had in a hotel. It was my partners birthday...they upgraded our hotel room, left delicious bannofee cheesecake and wine as a present along with a lovely thoughtful card for my boyfriend.... not to mention the reception team were so sweet to hold all the balloons I brought whilst I was checking in. They honestly could not have done enough for my this special occasion. They without a doubt went above and beyond. Thank you thank you thank you my boyfriend had the most amazing 30th birthday
Came for an afternoon tea with other 2 guests. The service was particularly slow at the beginning. Since we sat at the table (there were no other guests) we had to wait for almost 15 before getting our coffees. The sandwiches were decent, the sweets average and perhaps not really fresh. Good offer with a voucher, wouldn't recommend at full price.
I attended a meeting in one of the ground floor meeting rooms. Unlike a lot of other hotel meeting rooms in London this one actually had a skylight letting in a little bit of outdoor light. Catering was fine without standing out.
Very friendly staff, large rooms, full of character. A bit expensive probably.
Front desk staff were very friendly and gave us a free warm cookie upon check in. Room left much to be desired.Carpet was so worn in corners of the room it was just underlay. The shower door was falling off the hinge and plug sockets didn't work. Considering we were supposedly updated to a deluxe room, I would hate to see a standard.
Rooms are very clean although kind of small, which is normal for London from what I gather. Really comfortable bed as well.
Although it is listed as a 4 star hotel on all booking sites, 2 to 3 are good hotels. Believe in your Hilton name and you'll be very disappointed. And keep in mind that the name is excessively expensive compared to the facility. There is no refrigerator, bathroom faucet is uncomfortable, and washbasin is small. Because the bathtub is small, it is inconvenient to take a shower because you cannot move your body properly. Wait at least 15 minutes for hot water to come out and drain. Don't expect the amenities of a four-star hotel in the East. Only shampoo soap. The only thing that was better was the staff friendly and the breakfast was good.
Well located hotel in between Tottenham Court road tube and Holborn. Hotel staff were brilliant, the concierge and front of house staff treated my 6 year old daughter like a VIP. Well appointed rooms, pick one higher up and the back of you want a quiet room. Rooms vary in size ours was smallish bit adequate, tip for using the lifts, they are small but there are two on the other side to get you moving. Good local amenities too with supermarkets, cafes and literally a short walk from the British Museum. Would stay again.
Good location, great breakfast and comfortable room.
nice hotel - though located in an area where there were a lot of broken bottles on the streets.
Rooms are quite small which is to be expected in London. They do the job but it is nothing fancy. The elevator situation is horrible. They have 2 small elevators large enough for 2 people and during our stay only one of them was functional so we waited 15 minutes for the elevator and finally just dragged all our luggage down the steps so we could catch our train. The one major plus is that they give you a smart phone to use throughout the city with free data and calling. It is about a 15 minute walk to the theaters and 5 minute walk to Holborn station. The British museum is just 2 blocks away. Overall wonderful location.
Although a great location, friendly staff and overall a good hotel we had no air conditioning on the hottest day of the year so far. When we complained staff said they would find a fan but never contacted us so we went back and they said they were resetting the room, and again this did not work and we could not transfer as other rooms had the same issue. Staff were very apologetic in the morning and offered free water and coffee however we did not sleep well because of this and this is not the first time I have had a bad experience at a doubletree (at the Victoria we had no hot water one night). The location is excellent and rooms were good, staff friendly but could have been more proactive with helping.
I liked the welcome, cleanliness, strategic place, some small inconsistencies in the accessories in the room, an example, there is no power socket in the bathroom !!! However positive.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel while in London for our first Wedding Anniversary. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a hotel. When we arrived, the Hotel was clean and the atmosphere was relaxed and modern. The reception staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. Now we did get lost on the way to the room but that was probably our fault.
We stayed in one of the Hotel's (new) Deluxe Premium Rooms and I have to say it was incredible. The bathroom in particular was amazing! We were greeted in the room with two puddings and a bottle of wine. This was along side a hand written card from the Hotel's Customer Relations Manager (who I've forgotten the name of, sorry) which congratulated us on our anniversary. I had merely mentioned it during the booking. I was not expecting such a nice gesture.
We used the Hotel bar which was really nice. Sat next to the fire and the staff were friendly and attentive.
All in all the whole stay was amazing. One criticism I have is over the Hilton phone system as I made several attempts at calling the Hotel and the system is extremely frustrating. Even the operator admitted this. However this is no reflection on the Hotel itself or any of their staff.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this Hotel and will definitely be staying here again!
Very friendly staff I only stayed one night . Perfect location with easy access to the tube .
The Double Tree by Hilton London West End provided early check-in without fuss. The staff at the front desk were extremely kind, courteous, and helpful. The staff in the restaurant and lounge were exceptionally nice and accommodating, and provided prompt service and genial conversation. Restaurantfood quality was excellent and reasonably priced. Rooms are of a size typical of European hotels, and were clean and well maintained. WiFi and a free business center are available. The property is located close to theaters in the West End.
Good service. Room smelt of cigarettes but otherwise fantastic hotel
Handy location and comfy bed, but no soap, no shampoo (which I discovered when already in the shower), TV not working properly, and half my supper was given to a different table...
Went for afternoon tea as Christmas present from my husband food was lovely staff very helpful
