Management of this hotel is positively awful. They have no respect or desire to allow conventions or gatherings there. Dated, run down interior too. If you are planning on a wedding, reunion, business meeting, or convention, do yourself a favor and hold it anywhere else. The management here emphatically does not want your business and will do everything possible to make sure you don't feel welcome.

We had a terrible experience with the manager while requesting an upgrade and simple items like toilet paper. Unfortunately, the hotel is nice, but the customer service experience from management was so poor that we will not stay there again.

Room was nice, staff was friendly, but no continental breakfast and definitely avoid the bar. Had one drink with my husband, $25 later I only took one sip, it tasted absolutely awful. Do not ask them to make any mixed drinks.

My family has been going to this hotel for about 30 years, it is near the airport and the staff is great. Unfortunately in recent years the prices have shifted at a rate that didn't fit with the times and the food prices jumped and dropped in quality.
I had to wait forever for simple room service orders and they showed up cold, it took about an hour to send everything back and get a replacement meal for my mother who needed to have food with her medications.
I think the purchase of this hotel by the hilton chain truly is when their quality slipped, they "updated" the lobby and restaurant but not rooms in any way that mattered.
I doubt my family will use this hotel again, we will most likely stay at one of the hotels near the Mall Of America.

The girl at the front desk told me my hilton s honor status had no meaning to the hotel because i booked through a third party for my mom and they couldn t accommodate me needing 2 beds in the room. she told me it s like shopping at target and trying to return something to walmart. guess my thousands of dollars i ve put into hilton (being a diamond member last year and keeping up my gold status to become diamond this year again) has absolutely no meaning to them. what a great staff.

We stayed this past labor day weekend (3 nights) with my kids for a visit to the Mall of American and Water Park of America. I was EXTREMELY impressed...for the price I paid. The kids had never been on a trip let a lone out of the state so after I booked I received an e-mail giving me the option for a high floor room or a poolside room (at an additional cost), I thought I would opt for the high floor to impress them with a view. When I got there we were given a room on the Hilton Hhoners 17th floor at no cost and the kids just loved it. The rooms were an average size but updated decently and just enough space for myself and 3 teenagers I had with me. The pool was placed in a nice area, indoors. It was 9' deep which was awesome for the teens I had with me. It did get packed at times but nothing the hotel could do about that. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a daily charge for wifi, but 24 hours free. This was a family trip, so I wasn't too bummed about the lack of wifi, we were out a majority of the time. Again, this is all based on the price I paid, I definitely feel like I got my monies worth, if not more! Would definitely choose them again!

No free breakfast. Tiny garbage cans in the room. The bathroom didn't have a working exhaust fan so there was what appeared to be mold on some spots of the ceiling.
Overpriced and wouldn't recommend.

Rooms are fine, kind of small. Beds are not comfortable. You're a lot better off paying the 10-20$/night difference to stay at the other Hilton down the street.

One star due to management's treatment of a convention that's been held here for 20 years. Changed policies on too short of notice for the organizers to relocate and on top of that requested a bunch of police to stand around during the event. It made for a very hostile and unwelcoming atmosphere. Luckily the Bloomington police department is very chill and professional.

If they didn't want to host the convention they should have made it clear when the organizers booked the space. I don't recommend even trying with management.

This hotel billed me twice. Despite their assurances that I would receive a refund on one of the two charges multiple times, it has not ocurred. Both management and accounting dodge phone calls. Filing for fraud with my bank. Buyer beware.

Update: Three weeks later and still no refund. Also, others have come forward and said this has happened to them too. Unbelievable - Avoid the DoubleTree.

I've been a patron of this hotel for years with few complaints. But their recent ridiculous and outright discriminatory behavior towards the local circuits that have booked them and brought them business for years is heartbreaking. The base staff is wonderful and full of good people. But management at this place deserves to be called out. This hotel has permanently lost my business.

Management needs to remember that everyone's money spends the same and to stop being rude and discourteous

Front desk lady was not friendly and acted like it bothered her to check us in. Gave us wrong directions to the room sent us to the wrong set of elevators. Then after 2 hours the room AC.was not cool. Maintenance man was really nice and helped us get another room. The room was smaller and didn't have a accessible shower but the AC.WAS Great. . Didn't get any refund. Called front desk the next day and ask for a box of tissue same lady said she would try to send some up. 0...kay. WTH ?? The pet deposit was 50 dollars nonrefundable., which is crazy our pet is totally trained. I'm pretty sure I won't stay here again.

Conveniently located, decent restaurant and bar, healthy breakfast buffet, room appointments are hit or miss. My last suite's alarm clock, radio and lamp didn't work, and the outlet by the vanity sink was broken, along with the shaving mirror. However, in years prior, the furniture has been tasteful and walls/linens fashionable. The staff can be absolutely wonderful (those who've been there a great while are very helpful), but the sheer amount of turnover seems to make the vast majority of them look like fools as they cannot even answer simple questions. Their lobby coffee bar is awful, avoid at all costs (there are 2 chains within walking distance). Do not get a cabana poolside unless you're okay with noise.

Dalen the manager refused to allow me a refund even though I called immediately to address the incorrect booking date. Zero grace for a small human error. Awful service for anyone, let alone a Hilton Honors Rewards Member.

Such a beautiful hotel! Absolutely a great place to stay/relax. Staff really went the extra mile and the room service was awesome. The facilities are well taken care of. No complains at all!

We've been going here for years for conferences and conventions, one of them a charity event. Since the new management, the quality services offered has declined, while costs have skyrocketed. Most events I attend cut ties and moved. I'm attending a charity event here this weekend and not only have they double booked us, they have forbidden us from serving food or drink, hoping we'll buy the extremely overpriced hotel options. Hotel next door is offering 20% off drinks if you show them your badge from this event.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Dishonest business practices, cold food, and rude to those attending events.

I stayed at the Double Tree By Hilton for a convention called CONvergence. This was my 5th year staying at the hotel for this convention and, as always, the staff were absolutely amazing! They are always cordial, helpful, and friendly. The hotel rooms, conference rooms, and hallways are always kept clean - even though 6,000 people are walking around in strange costumes eating and drinking as they go. Wonderful experience!

I would rate this place zero stars if I could. Only based on the room service. They advertise it til 11pm then you try to order before 15 minutes before 11 and it just rings no one answers. Go to front desk and all they can do is give director of Operations number. Left a message waiting for him to call back. Waiting to find out what they will do for the guest. It seemed like a decent hotel aide from over priced drinks and tiny bath room that you would feel claustrophobic in. The staff was great from bartenders to front desk. I told Steve that it's not his fault that he had to deal with an upset customer. And I apologized and didn't want to direct my anger with him. He was great. It was whoever was running the kitchen for room service to decide to close early before the time quoted on menu. I understand about late night orders. Being in the business and all. I know it isn't b the most pleasant to make list minute orders but they b why b choose this career... But to chase away customers to me is unacceptable. It is an embarrassment to the industry. Without our guest we don't have a business. One gm to another Amenities and overall atmosphere was good. But to ruin it over room service is ridiculous. Might as well demolish hotel and provide no service to anyone. This is why places close in a competitive market. Inconsistencies in a business destroy the business. Just ask Old Chicago. Thank you for your time to vent. Hopefully it will be more consistent for others than it was for me. Good luck to all.

Nice staff, nice double queen beds. Last year we stayed in the older tower and it was too cold, took hours to get the staff to bring more sheets up to our room so we froze on the pull-out couches, not super clean or durable furniture. Not a great night sleep late year. Would recommend the new area of rooms.

We were put up here overnight by Delta, which implies both that this stay came after rather a long day, and that I can't comment on cost or value. There were a few things that seemed pretty well worn - the outlets were rather loose - but the shower was hot and powerful, the bed was comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and everything perfectly acceptable for our short stay. After a long day of things going sideways, being handed that warm cookie at check in was the best thing.

I loved the Doubletree by Hilton (Bloomington, IL). The front desk person was super friendly and personable. The big warm cookies at check-in are delicious and a fun little perk. The lobby is large and modern. The room was also spacious, modern, and sleek with comfortable beds. I appreciated the in-room coffee maker with tea as well. Also worth mentioning are the 24/7 fitness room with steam room, the pool, and nice courtyard. Absolutely would recommend a stay here, wish we had been staying longer ourselves!

Lauren was a fantastic front desk introduction to the hotel. She was very engaging and found a room upgrade for us. The plaza rooms are spacious and clean with bathrooms that meet both of my requirements, shower head high enough for a 6-footer and a ton that drains. The hotel shuttle is very convenient, it makes regular runs to the Mall of America and the airport. An enjoyable stay, all the way around.

Attended conference at the event. Clean ballrooms, main room was a bit cramped. Food was good quality, but not many options for anyone that didn't love main entree. Audio difficulties at times. Watch out for traffic after 4pm.

I stayed in room 128, poolside room. I was taken a back to the quality of the room. I have never been to a "bad" Double Tree, let alone a "bad" hotel. At first, the small hallway leading to our bathroom gave off a really strong odor that came from the closet. Which we had called front desk to inform them about. They came in to deodorize it, which helped a bit. Come to find out there was some kind of leak coming from the top of the closet. You could see the residue coming down on the wallpaper inside of the closet. Next, would be the interior of the room itself. Their were small pieces of wall paper coming off in the bathroom, chips and Knicks on the door frame and door itself. The grout in the bathroom wasn't clean either. I also want to mention that I am not a fan of the public bathroom type of toilet flush handle/system in a hotel bathroom. It just makes me feel gross a d less comfortable using the bathroom. I honestly felt like I was staying in a high class motel room. I am super disappointed. The front desk girl.didn't seem like they wanted to help me find my room either upon arrival. After trying to give me directions, I still didn't get it and wanted further clarifications to which set of stairs she was talking about, she looked at me as if I was just plain stupid. There were also dead bugs on the patio. The best part of my stay here was being able to stay up pretty late without any complaint.

The staff is good but the management and owners are horrible and only care about making a buck. The rooms are horribly outdated the pipes rattle the elevators only work half the time. Avoid this place at all costs. There are far better places in the area Like the Sheraton across the street or the Crown Royal across the highway.

We stayed in 11th floor no internet connection and bathroom was dirty. Nothing to do other than watching tv. Floor was so laud 3 in the morning. It has a nice swimming pool and an exercise room.

This is an older hotel, but it seems that they have tried to update some of the rooms. There are two main "towers" where the hotel rooms are. I am a gold member, but both time I've stayed here I was put in the tower opposite of the HHonors Lounge. To get to the lounge requires going down one elevator walking across the building and going up another elevator. This hotel is rather large with a conference center making access to most things within the hotel inconvenient to quickly access. Overall stay is nice and they do have a nice HHonors Lounge and restaurant.
