Huge hotel, with plenty of rooms. There were conferences, high school events, wedding parties all staying there at once and the hotel could accommodate all of them.

5 star service from some wonderful employees. Always willing to help out with any issues.
The pool area is just not worth packing swimwear. The room that we were in could be updated. The technology in the room is a complete failure. My child was unable to hook up his game system. The game systems can be hooked up in our minivan. The staff was very nice!
Very nice hotel. Somewhat difficult to navigate when events are going on. Staff is excellent.
The hotel is really showing it's age. Peeling paint, warn room carpet and fixtures. Staff is friendly and welcoming, and rooms are decently sized but the building needs some TLC.
The Doubletree Hilton Bloomington upper management are not convention-friendly. This year they fought with CONvergence on almost everything. They didn't allow booze to be served by party room hosts (forcing many rooms to be unable to host their parties). They also did not allow the consuite (food for convention members) to serve the soup that they normally serve. Another restriction they put was forcing room parties to strictly stick to room capacity limits (which was not something they had done before) and attendees could not wait in hallways to enter a party room with a closed door. They also did not allow authors who were guests of honor at the convention to sell their books at their signing tables. This review does not reflect at all on the staff of the hotel - they had no control over these restrictive policies and performed their tasks very admirably.
Great view on West side nice hotel.they have rooms by the pool!
We stayed for a wedding in Edina. Really were not impressed by hotel, though it was not awful. Some conventions were going on and there were crowds ambling around in the lobby and groups of kids running around and shouting. The room was OK. It was clean and stocked fine. Problem was that there was a very noisy fan above the thermostat that ran no matter what you set the thermostat to, and the air it was blowing seemed cooler than the air in the room. Coffee supplied tasted stale, creamer was separated and did not mix in. Water tasted fine. The shower was clean, but water pressure was not great and shower head was cheap and not very enjoyable. This hotel will do the trick but for the money we paid I think it was lacking. 3 stars.
Excellent service. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Pool was gorgeous and just the right temp. Featured a fitness facility with enough machines to provide a full body workout. Wonderful stay.
Dinner took a little while to get, but overall was not too bad. Higher than I'd like to see prices, staff was friendly.
My entire experience was excellent at this location!! From the housekeeping staff, the shuttle drivers, up to the manager on duty, Tom, they were very nice and accommodating for our group! I highly recommended this hotel!!
Con was good but the gaming suite needs to be at the other location.
Friendly and easy check-in process. I actually had a great conversation with the check-in person and now we are Facebook friends! Don't worry I never do that, but she was super cool! Everything was clean, friendly, and safe. These are all things one should expect. Plus, it had a fancy feeling to the hotel, but everyone was down to earth. Definitely, going there again when I head back to the cities.
Great hotel with reasonable prices. Stayed here for one night while I was passing through. Front desk was nice, cookies were tasty, bed was comfortable and price was reasonable. Would suggest this hotel to anyone in that area.
Came for 2D Con. Not a bad place to have it. Spacious rooms for events, nice bar, interesting layout for the pool. The temperature seemed odd on the second floor, though. One room was ice cold and the other end of the building was really warm. Had a good time. Would attend events there again.
For such a large convention I attended, it's a bit small and hard to maneuver in the space. The rooms are really nice!
Outside doesn't look impressive, almost worn down looking. However, the inside looks great! I was very surprised by the interior of the hotel. Employees are also friendly and helpful.
Attended a karate tournament there. It seems like a fine, nothing special facility. Did not eat there or stay overnight, so can't comment on either.
Clean clean and beautiful. Always impressed with the workers there
Absolutely have to give them 1 star. We stayed here the night of a friends wedding and our room was ROBBED WHILE WE SLEPT. Our phones which were next to my girlfriends head were across the room and many things were missing. We filed a police report, and when the management finally got in touch with me they offered to comp half the price of the room. I laughed and told him there was no way i was paying 1 cent for that room and he agreed. Just an overall terrible experience. They have no cameras in the hallways so there was no way to catch the culprit. Not a great hotel i would absolutely look somewhere else.
I've stayed at this hotel multiple times a year for the last almost decade, for both conventions and once for a private function.
During the private function where i had rented several poolside rooms, hotel staff entered the room unannounced in the middle of the night for a "maintenance issue" that they didn't tell us about until the next morning. Very creepy. Pretty sure they saw we had a party and were counting how many people we had staying in the rooms as there was no emergent issue (like a leak or electrical problem).
Others have described the problems with events here accurately and i will add quotes from management. "we would rather host a last minute wedding than a convention" and i overheard staff Thursday night of our 4 day convention this year stating "only a few more days and then we're done with this for good."
Please don't mistake these reviews as adolescent whining. The convention in july is a family event with the average age of attendee probably pushing near 40 years old at this point. Book a large event here at your own risk.
The pictures are deceiving. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear your neighbors conversation and the ice machine. Not what you expect for being part of the Hilton family. At least the staff were friendly?
Hotel is very nice but looks very outdated and the outside of the building is not very well cared for
I love going to my social events at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bloomington!
The suite my friends were staying in was excellent. It had comfortable chairs and couches, though it would have been nice to have a larger TV in the main sitting area, since it was such a large area. The locations of the elevators are a bit strange, since they're so spread out, but otherwise the experience was great.
Im a regular customer. Been going here for years. The New ownership is greedy money hungry and will make up rules and regulations to rape your wallet. Avoid bussiness at this location. Its not worth the Hassel. The last 3 years have rapidly gotten worse and worse.
There was top much confusion over the booming process and management was intrusive.
Great staff expecally the FO staff from Zimbabwe (I forgot his name ) he is very professional and have a great memory. Staff like him is an asset for your company. I really enjoyed staying here love it . Hats off double tree Hilton Bloomington!
Nice clean rooms for a reasonable rate. Staff was friendly and the lobby and common areas were clean and tidy. Customer service was top notch.
I'm planning an event at the Doubletree and met with a banquet organizer and chef. I was very impressed with the staff, food options, and ballroom space available!
Room was clean and updated. Check-in was slow and long lines with 3 open counter spots.
The staff were extremely rude to my friend and had no idea what the real issue was in regards to customer service
Warm cookie at check in was a nice touch. Room was very comfortable.
The reptile show costed 8 bucks when they said no price on their post. Very disappointed in the person who agreed to let them have their show there.
Paid for a double queen room and got two double beds :(
I stayed here last weekend for a work event. The hotel itself is very welcoming and clean. The person that helped us check in was wonderful, and you even get warm cookies. The bed was very comfortable, especially the pillows. My work event was in the hotel, and the space for that was perfect. The only part I didn't like was the elevator. It is clearly outdated and a little scary, but everything else was perfect.
If you're a diamond member, this is THE spot to be. Best value (quality and level of service for the price) of any hotels I've stayed at. Great free appetizers for dinner, decent breakfast, big nice rooms, great gym, etc.
Amazing rooms with friendly helpful staff. The meeting space is great for large groups.
This hotel has a recent history of reneging on their contractual obligations and screwing over events including those that represent charities.
In short, consider this hotel if you re ok with a venue that actively works to sabotage charity work.
Lobby organized and clean and signs for directon were clear
First of all we had paid for a two queen bed room and was given a king bed due to having no more double bed rooms so we were given the king room and a complimentary roller bed. We called down at 9 PM wanting the roller bed and never got it. Called down an hour later and was told they would call right back with an ETA never fot a response back. Called again after two hours of waiting and was told that it was a fire hazard since we were in a odd number room and also since it had a king bed also. Very disappointed that they couldn't tell us earlier about all this. I don't think I will be coming back to use this hotel again. Also room was still dirty had a tampon string on the ground and also the shower curtain had hair on it.
It was good. Here for an event and had a great time.
When we got into our room, the desk lamp did not work, nor did one of the bedside lamps, so it was pretty dark. There was, what seemed to be a fan in the bathroom, but no way to turn it on and it did not come on with the light switch, so every time one of us showered everything was wet from the humidity. The lighting in the bathroom was poor with only two side sconces and only one person could get ready at a time because the shower, sink/counter and the toilet we're all crammed into one small room. I turned a note (regarding the lights not working and the fan in the bathroom not coming on) into the front desk the next morning before we headed out for our day and ask that someone please check it, but when we got back later that evening we still had no lights and there was no message left stating that they had even been in to check it.
Great place, lots of room for big events. Very comfy. Fancy bars and restaurants. Wonderful, helpful staff.
Stayed in the 2 queen bed suite, great rooms, staff friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast from 7-11am (latest breakfast served I've seen yet). Great place to stay. Free parking and internet is also a plus, located directly off highway.
Reptile show.... could be a bit roomier for this event. The location and facility are very nice.
Very friendly staff and our room was very clean. Only downside was the room temperature. Close to the window was cold, especially the floor. The rest of the room was fine.
This place is absolutely gorgeous! Definitely recommend!
New owership not like the DoubleTree of old. Definitely be the last time I come here.
Nice pool, beds were comfy, very hard to find the room and hard to find some who spoke English to ask.
Very nice location, had a great stay even tho there was a gamer convention in town the hotel was still relatively peaceful!
They have renovated since the last time I stayed here. That was along time ago. The staff was friendly and the room was nice. The wifi was strong and the food I got from the restraint was good. I have no complaints.
I stopped into the double tree to drop off a friend who was sufficiently drunk. It was a pleasurable experience because we were in and out with no trouble.
The organization that I belong to and am President just had our annual Conference / show there. Great hotel, staff and environment.
Easy to get to. We went for a karate tournament and all staff was very helpful. The event was well organized. The hotel itself was very clean and easy to navigate.
I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay here. I attended the reptile expo and genuinely had fun even though animals are not my thing.
Room location was great. Our room was clean and comfortable. The full size beds are kind of tiny, but we made do.
Beautiful hotel, great restaurant and bar. Fantastic cookies!
Beds were very comfortable. Had a drink and an appetizer in the hotel bar and the server was great. Rates were cheapest in the area. Pool area is very large and can accommodate large groups
Very good. The breakfast cost money. I wish the breakfast was free. Free breakfast is much better. I should complain to Hilton. The pool is way to big lol. Jk I liked the pool but the spa was really hot. I wanted a bigger bed but the bed was small. I also like the revolving door. They should give us free money. I don't know why they don't. Any well it was very good and I like it.
Went to a car show outside the hotel pretty great area very safe very friendly parking lot needs a resurfacing but everything was top-notch around there otherwise
Parts of the building/rooms seems to be aging but kept clean with new paints. Clean rooms but not as spacious. Great view @ top floors, unfortunately there is nothing to enjoy the view from. Good food & onsite bar.
Always clean and friendly staff. Great rooms. Looking forward to next CON!
Conference Room was very large in an amazing atmosphere.
Very nice rooms and conference rooms. Unfortunately they put us in a room with mold but other than that it was a pleasant experience.
Clean room, however, it must have been a storage room. Located at the service elevator. The window looks at the other part of the building, three feet away. No natural light, grey interior, outdated bathroom without a fan and a huge beam taking up a lot of space. Don't accept a room ending in 22.
