I tried to give DePaula time to get back to me before I put this in a public space but they've ignored my request for contact. I had some service on my vehicle ('15 Chevy Trax) 9/18 and since then the service and explanation of costs have still not been sitting well with me. I brought my vehicle in at the beginning of August and had it serviced for some massive engine stuttering at idling and acceleration. The diagnosis was that I needed my fuel line cleaned and my spark plugs cleaned and regapped. For all of those services plus an oil change I paid about $600. After all of that when I drove my car it would stutter here and there at acceleration but I didn't get a moment to bring the vehicle in. So come this past week I was driving my vehicle from CT to home in the Albany area, to my wildest surprise my car started severely stuttering and my check engine light went on while I was in the middle of nowhere. Luckily I was able to find a shop to tell me that I could indeed bring it home to the shop relatively safely. Luckily I got it home and got it into the shop the very next day. I then get a call saying that the engine coil was severely corroded and needed to be changed, which of course I saw the video of the corrosion for myself and have no problem with that being the issue. Now, here's where my real issue lies. It's been just over a month since my last service with the service center. While I may not be a mechanic myself I understand a little bit about engines. I understand corrosion but I don't understand how in just over a month, my engine coil would corrode to that level, I was assured by Manny that they had been checked the last time. I also don't understand how it costs $130-$160 (I can't remember the exact) to clean and regap the spark plugs yet, I was charged $372 for labor, $200 for "misc" and $107 for the part. When, my understanding of my vehicle, you have to remove the coil from the housing in order to reach the spark plugs in the first place. So I can't understand how it would cost me over 3 times the price just in labor of "cleaning and regapping" my spark plugs to replace my engine coil. Also, I was quoted $610 for the job to be completed and when I looked at my receipt I was charged $679. I trusted that I could come to this dealership and be treated fairly. When I questioned my charges I was given lip service about costs and that they use the Chevy estimates. I just can't understand the pricing. I know that this may fall on deaf ears for them but I wanted to make sure no one else had the same experience that I did with them.
