The children had so much fun seeing all the animals. We watched the feeding of the sea lions, elephants and penguins. It also was an educational experience. The care takers look at the bellies, appetite and behavior of the animals to see that they are healthy when they perform tricks. For a couple of dollars the children get to ride a train around the zoo premise and also a carousel with all kinds of animals to sit on. Parking was free and plenty right there at the zoo.

Wow the new tiger enclosure and the elephants and gibbons. I grew up going here and this zoo and their effort of conservation rather than exhibit is awe inspiring
Awesome day with my wife!! Saw the babies and they were so cute. The tiger roaring was cool. The tiger went up to the balcony was looking over us was awesome. Great job guys can't wait to come back in a couple months!!!!!
Absolutely amazing, while some exhibits have been closing down without much warning, we know that they will continue to fill those spaces with more beautiful and fantastic animals. Plus, their developing a new nursery that I am incredibly excited to see.
Though I'm sad that the Denver Zoo no longer has polar bears, which were a huge draw, it still offers a wonderful variety of wildlife experiences, and I appreciate that they are focused on animal welfare and conservation! They seem to be constantly trying to improve the facilities for both the animals and visitors alike. It's a great place to spend a day with the littles!!
I paid for a Family Plus Membership at $160.00. I have a very large family and this seemed like the way to go. A great place to go to often during summer. So I thought... My family and I went on Memorial Day weekend on Monday. It was a bit cloudy and sprinkling and that seemed to clear the park around 12:30-1:00. Made finding parking so nice! We didn't have to fight bus school groups, camps, nothing. For us we didn't mind a little rain, just started in the indoor exhibits and by the time we finished up the rain had stopped and cooled down which was great. The thing that truly just sucked was why are there so many exhibits empty?! I get that some are on the other side of their exhibit and you just need to walk inside or vice versa outside. My thing was exhibits straight up empty or under construction. It feels like all we saw were Tigers, Elephants, Giraffes, and the new baby gorilla (which was very sweet). I wish I would have just checked out a book from the library and said here kids look at these four types of animals and call it a day. Would have save a TON of money that's for sure. It's truly was a disappointment for our first family experience. To be specific there's 10 of us that went that day. That sure was a lot of walking, wagons, potty breaks, snack breaks just to see a few featured exhibits. Seriously disappointed. Now I'm stuck with a one year membership. I hope our next visit proves me wrong and elevates our expectations to what the hype is. Like actually seeing animals.
We have been members at the Denver Zoo for several years now and we will continue to be, they do an excellent job of putting the babies out on display and walking people through the different options that all the animals need when it comes to health and eating. Overall we love going there and seeing all the new exhibits and all the animals and if you're looking for a great Zoo to visit while you're in the area or if you live here this zoo is awesome!
Was a fun zoo. Had no clue it was as old as it is (I think sometime in the late 1890's was when it started?). Lot's of different animals. Food options weren't terrible, and they were as expensive as you'd imagine. All the animals looked relatively happy
Denver Zoo was very fun it was really really fun especially with a cute lion cubs the lion cubs were very cute each person who worked there was really helpful this zoo was the best one yet I ever want to in my life
Love love this zoo! Beautifully kept, wonderful staff and lots of fun activities. In some ways it reminds my family of Disney. You would never know it s in the middle of the city.
This saturday i drove over 100 miles to go to the denver zoo Most exhibits were empty some had one animal I love viewing animals but this was not worrh my money or my time Sorry Maybe there was a reason but i do not know it
I love the zoo lights. You need to slowly walk the entire route so you don't miss any of the lights. Different from other park Christmas lights as there are animals in lights and lights that have movement and show scenes. A couple of the exhibits are open and you never know what animals you'll see out wandering around in the dark.
Lovely Sunday morning. Kid enjoyed the animals and freedom to run around at the zoo. The Coca cola was horribly over priced but the proceeds go to a good cause. $5 for 16oz coke.
Enjoyable family experience! Love the variety of animals, educational presentations & postings, varied food options, lots of shaded walkways & benches, & unusually clean setting. *Trolley transportation is needed from crowded parking lot.
Awesome place, my party and myself had a wonderful time at the Denver Zoo. We arrived early about 10 minutes in order to get parking (I've heard horror stories about event parking at the zoo). Group tickets are n the phone and BAM!!! we're in. It was a blast visiting all of the animals and reading about them, their natural habitats, and the occasional born in captivity baby name Overall, I recommend the Denver Zoo.
I love the zoo but some parents need to keep the crazy kids in check because so many kids Tont and tease the animals so not right then if a animal attacks it's the animals fault uh no it's the kids fault and the stupid parents this always makes it a very unpleasant trip to our Denver zoo but staff is always super friendly and it is always super clean.
What a great zoo! They have an excellent variety of animals with, what seems to be, plenty of room for them to roam about. I really enjoyed their gardens.
Nice lay out for the zoo, great that they change where the animals are from time to time to keep the animals mentally stimulated. Was a good experience going there.
Some exhibits were closed and some could use fresh paint or bigger enclosure for the animal but it was pretty nice. Pack your lunch the prices for food are just too high.
We love the zoo but I d wait until the new construction is done and they have more animals. They didn t have any bears, a lot of the large cats were gone and some of the monkeys. A lot of the demonstrations was canceled (on a Saturday). Not sure what s going on or if they re shifting the animals around but it s not a good time to go to the zoo.
Had an amazing experience! We took our preschool class and Crystal was our guide! She was great with the kids and knew everything about the animals. The animals here always seem so much more happy than at some zoos. The staff was all extremely nice and helpful. Great place for a field trip. Thank you guys for an amazing visit!
Awesome place to spend an afternoon. Educational and fun. We ve kept a membership since the kids were infants, they are all teens now and the opportunities for hands on educational experiences are just in readable. I recommend going once a season as they are constantly changing things up.
Hot, lots of animals hanging out out of sight. Got in free because I was at an event hosted inside, which was pricey to rent but very nice. Lots of children, DO NOT COME if you do not like children because let me tell you, kids for miles. For days. So thick you had to wade through swathes of sticky reaching hands, tread through depths of tiny screaming bodies.
I Love the Denver Zoo! it is a ton of fun, and if you go during the right times you can see all of the feedings. the food is kind of pricey, and some of the Merch is cheaply made, but that is to be expected from this type of place. just get yourself a pass so you can go as often as you want, then things get a little less expensive.
One of my favorite past times!! Go to the zoo in every city I visit. Denver zoo is definitely in my top three favorites! Especially for the memories it holds over the years!
We received a membership as a gift for our Christmas present . They have a booking system in place for members now with covid that is online . I attempted to book for July sometime in the morning , nothing available keep in mind I am looking between 830-1230 , August same thing nothing not one spot , September same thing nothing the spots where released 3 days ago ! This is so disappointing and disheartening on how this is being managed. Why have a pass since you can t use it ! I spoke with the zoo directly a week ago regarding my membership which I was told they would have spots ! Lol really at 330 or 530 pm no nap to go to the zoo that should be a blast .... I m unhappy with this process .... and for members you need to address this issue .
A very nice zoo. There's a good amount of animals here and the layout is pretty easy to figure out. The displays are educational, so people of all ages can get something out of it. The animal encounters and behind the scenes options are pretty neat. The food selections are fine though nothing too glamorous. The train and carousel are neat.
Great place...with quiet environment. Can visit with friends, families, kids, with your loved ones or alone... It doesnt matter.. Also best place to explore varieties of animals at a single zoo. One thing that totally dissappoints me is its expensive entry fee.
Fun place, large parking garage, animals looked fat and happy. The people tend to get in your photos, but that's people. This zoo was worth a trip, and I've been to several.
