Amazing beautiful babies, fun for the whole family!
So much to see and do. Animals are well taken care of and their living space is appropriate for what they would like be accustomed to in the wild.
Fantastic zoo, wide assortment of animals, appears very humane and no doubt crucial for saving some species.
Friendly and helpful staff, kids enjoyed the train ride and carousel, nice break from walking and a much needed breather.
My boyfriend really wanted to do the Animal encounter for his Birthday but our schedules kept changing. The staff was AMAZING and extremely accommodating!!! I was extremely impressed!
Good to see updates and the animals being put into suitable habitats. While there is something sad about older exhibits closing, It's understandable, as some don't understand staying on path ways. The gift shop was nice and neat, but we ate before going in. One thing I noticed that I would say needs changed is that there's only one Capybara. Last I knew, they're herd animals. But, It was nice to see one.
Cat exhibit is way too small and sad. Great winter zoo ligjts programs.
It's the zoo! It was REALLY hot when we were there, and some sort of mist fans could have been nice to keep the public cooled off. But otherwise it was a pretty standard zoo trip for us. Again because of the heat several animals had chosen to hang in their indoor areas, many of which are not visible or accessible to the public something to keep in mind when deciding to go to the zoo and checking the weather! Overall it was a good trip.
Very nice and large zoo! Too large for my pregnant wife (at the time) and my two toddlers. We arrived when it opened in a Saturday morning. We left around 1pm as the kids were getting cranky. We missed out on the whole upper right corner of the map where the elephants were due to leaving early. We enjoyed the gorillas and monkeys the most!
Loved it! Very well laid out. The paths are winding and circular, but very well marked. We never once got lost or backtracked. Great selection of animals--both the old standbys and some uncommon addition.
The red pandas were not on display, which was extremely disappointing, but things happen. Their enclosure was undergoing some renovations of some sort.
I had no concessions, but my boyfriend had the Great Divide Zooski. Great marketing opportunity for both partners, but he described it as pretty standard, unexciting drinking.
Summer pricing is $20 for adults, kids 2 and under are free.
I love this Zoo, it just keeps getting better and better
Best place to relax and take it all in if you love animals;)
Not bad but areas are small. It was so hot that animals were not out. Maybe next time.
Twice a year my wife and I come to walk the Denver zoo....so much fun the best!
Im not so sure all the animals were alive. Seems like every time I go there the animals are sleeping and not very active. The new tiger enclosure and elephant enclosure were probably the highlight.
It seems the time I chose was not ok, I went to zoo in afternoon, while most of the animals were sleeping, though it s large and good but I didn t feel like I am in the zoo with fewer options kids could enjoy. The hyenas sleeping. Lion sleeping, tiger and leopard falling a sleep, even the seals were sleeping Only a few other seemed to be present for our kids welcome
Love this place. The animals are really chill and well taken care of. There's lots of food choices too. Great for family fun.
Great zoo just wish the gorilla exhibit had more viewing space my family and I couldn't really see with majority of adults in the way and they tend to stay there for a while.
While they've worked hard to improve the conditions, it is still relatively sad seeing animals here. Still good for introducing children to wildlife and getting them interested. In the end, I'd much rather visit the Wildlife Sanctuary near Loveland over the actual Denver Zoo.
Had such a wonderful day here! Will definitely be back.
The Denver zoo was really fun, all the animals were fun to look at. I really loved the naturalness of the whole place.
Zoo was a lot of fun. So cool to see the animals in more natural habitats. Our little one loved the elephants
Always a great time! Great place to take the kids. Feels kinda bad that the different species are locked up but it's a great learning experience and really the only way to see certain wildlife in person.
Always go with my kids, 3 who are in elementary school and very much enjoy it!
Fun place to take kids. They have a lot of protective measures now. In some ways I like how directed it is now, I frequently got lost or didn't know where to start/go when it was open in the usual way.
The zoo itself was nice, clean. The parking was stupid, had to park all the way down by City Park . Why are half the areas closed when there are a hundred cars circling looking for parking. What's the point? Just open them all.
We went to Zoo lights last night and it was beautiful!!! It has so many displays, all different and magical. We LOVED the lanterns. You don't have to be a parent of a small child to enjoy this....just go!
No parking at lot or 3 blocks in any direction. Rude csr at front and horrible bathrooms
Fabulous zoo. There were many great animal exhibits, everything was clean and set up very nicely. This zoo is pretty nice for being in the middle of the city.
Read other reviews, and flip thru walkthrough pictures. Small enclosed cages for animals is a NO GO TO THE ZOO FOR US!!!. The people with walkways and concessions are getting all the money. WAKE UP AND BUILD LARGE SPREAD AREAS FOR THE ANIMALS!!!
It is very entertaining to watch an employee get eaten by the animals
Visited June 2020 and had a wonderful visit! The one way route is done VERY well, everyone was good about distancing and wearing masks. It was difficult to find a reservation time, but the site works well, no glitches!
This place is awesome and there are so many animals to see
Overall a really wonderful Zoo. Appreciated how the zookeepers educated people about dangers facing elephants and the devastating deforestation threatening habitats. As usual, one wishes the animals had more space, but overall the zoo is well designed.
I absolutely love this place my kids enjoy it as well as my husband
Great place to take kids or even go yourself ! Lots of cool things to explore ! The Toyota elephant passage is all new and very cool ! You can bring in your own food and that's a very big plus ! Love that you can rent a wagon also ! Many good options as well for snacks and other larger food items
This is one of my family's favorite places to visit in Denver. We pack are lunch and take the wagon to pull our food water and our two year old when he is tired of walking.
Nice sized zoo. The selection of animals is somewhat limited compared to larger city zoos, but it is clean and the animals look well maintained. Admission is reasonable at 20 dollars. There are good food selections scattered throughout the park. Parking is free!
Great zoo!! Lots to do. They have gluten free pizza options!! Gift shop is a bit expensive tho
The majority of the animals we saw seemed to be miserable, depressed, and confined in extremely small enclosures where small children were banging against the glass, yelling, and parents were letting them climb all over everything. Going forward, I plan on boycotting zoo's because everything that I saw was just plain wrong and unethical. These animals do not deserve to live in this type of environment.
Had an old all you can eat flyer from the air bnb. Guess that was from 2016. No ayce here but still good
A lot to do. Just make sure that you have comfortable shoes.
We always have a nice time but will remember next time to go as soon as they open in the morning. The later it gets (like even noon in the summer), the fewer animals are outside--I presume because of the heat. There's a lot of construction going on, but it'll be cool to see the new exhibit.
They have so many babies! The edge tiger encloser is awesome too!
Great Zoo.
The care and attention to details in caring for their animals is obvious.
Just moved to Denver & had a great time at the Zoo! I love that parking is free and definitely recommend the membership. You will get your money's worth after a few visits! It was a gorgeous zoo to walk around, can't wait to go back!
Zoo lights for a lot of fun crowds much smaller than last year
Overall, this is a nice zoo & they do a lot of special exhibits and events which are nice.
I would like to complain however that this weekend we visited again after not going for a couple of years & were disappointed to find that Bird World had closed. I'm sure that Bird World wasn't the most popular exhibit, however it added to a great diversification of animal exhibits. And then, I see they have added a 4D movie theatre? Really do we need a theatre at the zoo when we have an IMAX around the corner at DMNS? Am I going to come visit 10 years from now and find that Tropical Discovery has been closed because of costs, and they are going to add in a new amusement park ride? Sorry, but leadership decisions that cater only to the volume of people attending are disappointing, and then using the limited zoo space to add a theatre is poor leadership direction in my opinion.
Just not what it used to be. When we visited almost no animals out.
Visited with the kids for the Free Day in January 2017. Even though it was cold, and many of the animals were not on display, we had a great time. The employees were very helpful, friendly and talkative. I
Impressive facility. The Sea Lion show was the highlight of the visit.
Wonderful time, zoo is nicely maintained, and the variety of animals is impressive!
This zoo is okay. I went on a pretty warm day and so saw more peacocks than any other animals. I also saw a pelican that looked like it had a broken wing which was a little upsetting. It was also upsetting to see so many visitors clearly feeding the animals popcorn and other unsuitable food.
Not enough staff protecting animal welfare, with children and their parents shouting at the animals and banging cages. The whole experience was rather sad.
The Denver Zoo is awesome. The walkways are wide enough to get around even on a crowded day. There's loads to see. The new tiger exhibit is beautiful! Even as an adult the zoo is a great place to visit when family is in town.
Love the animal demonstrations. Informative and interesting. Currently renovating some exhibits, so it will get even better!
Clean. Plenty of volunteers around with cheery dispositions. People were masked and polite and distancing. Tiger was playful, the lions were lazy, and the gibbons were partying.
Very cold for zoo lights, but extremely fun. The baby giraffe is the best!
So much fun! Line was so long to get in but so happy you had signs to buy online. I did and it saved us so much time with 3 wild little boys. Thank you!
Nice place to visit and walk around with my daughter. Pleasant place to spend a relaxing day.
Zoo was good as usual. It was a free zoo day & it was definitely a "Zoo" finding parking & at the Zoo.
Quite a variety of animals. Really enjoyed the elephant show!
Cute just wish there was more coffee throughout the park
Clean Environment, helpful staff and great exhibits!
Took my nephew and niece, both had an absolutely wonderful time. They have rental wagons you can get for your kids if you didn't bring a stroller, all the kids I saw really enjoyed them. Since the wagons are longer, it's easier for the kids to lay down and relax too. The elephant show was very informative and you could see the animal was well taken care of. I still feel bad for the animals though, you could see the exhibits are far too small and basic for them to enjoy, most every animal looked incredibly disinterested and tired. Food is far to expensive, better to pack your own and bring it with. The bird and monkey exhibits were by far the best. Lion and tiger were disappointing because their bored out of their minds in small enclosures.
Was not impressed. I've seen smaller zoo's with more animals. The peacocks were great to see running loose.
You can easily spend full day roaming around . The animals are easy to see and have good spaces to move around.
This is what a zoo should be like. Diverse animals grouped into cohesive themes.
Love this zoo, and it's good to see how the enclosures are being improved every day. Great exposure to animals for kids, and the zookeepers are very friendly and happy to answer any questions. I was sad to not be able to visit the lorikeets during my last visit, but I will try again next time. Love the conservation efforts, and the small businesses supported in the shop. Food is pricey, but they have Dole Whip and that stuff is magic.
The best place ever for cheap entertainment for my children they love it. My wife and I love the food too so that's our plus
Cool layout, tons of animals. A beautiful bird area.
Super great zoo! took my kids on one of the busiest days of the year and yet there were hardly any places that we had to stand in line. All the concession stands and restaurants were quick and efficient. We had a great day.
