The zoo lights were gorgeous, my kids loved it and it was so great that many of the pavillions were still open. The best was probably the tropical pavillion but it was also awesome to see giraffes so up close.
Wonderful selection of animals. Very impressive and easy to walk thru.
I made a mistake when buying the tickets for the Denver Zoo lights, and I wanted to leave a review to say that Michelle helped me refund and re-purchase tickets on the phone with absolutely ease. She was wonderfully helpful and kind and I was able to get everything fixed and in order!
It s a zoo. Kids like it. The little train is cool and it s a nice place to walk around.

Lots of fun. The animals and reptiles were very active midday. Kids loved their day off from distance school with multiple friends.

Got to the zoo a little later than expected and ran into the problem of no available parking both on the garage and main lot. Had to park behind the zoo at city park. Once we actually got into the zoo it was pretty good! Some of our favorite animals were not out to see, but we were able to see at least one of most animals. Next year I think I will look into a membership. Between entrance and the discounts you get everywhere else it is completely worth it as long as you plan on going at least twice a year. My kids loved it!
This is a pretty decent zoo. I have been to the zoo considered the best in the country and this one while not nearly that nice is still good for an occasional visit.
The elephant and giraffe enclosures are really cool. The staff is really friendly and it isn't overly expensive.

With the COVID19 going on you are still able to go. You must bring a mask if not you have to buy it when there for $7.00. You have to pre purchase your tickets online or you can "walk in" and pray someone didn't show up. The indoor exhibits are closed so all you can see is the outdoor exhibits. It still was very fun and not a bunch of crowds. While you're walking everything is marked and someone is at each intersection to help you. While walking you can pre order your food and it will let you know when its ready for you to pick up. All in all its still really a good place to go.
Although it was cold on top of it being a free day the zoo was still well kept and the employees were very interactive and kind. Definitely would go back in the summer time

Small zoo but worth it. So much to see but during the heat, yeah good luck. The sea lions are so active. The reptile center is a must see.
My family decided to go to the zoo for my daughter's birthday. It was one of the worst experiences we've had at the zoo and we will not be returning. My husband and father had medical exemption to wear a mask which they wore their bracelets. Every time we stopped to look at the animals we were harassed about them wearing a mask, we even had security called on us. the rest of us all had masks on which should have been a clue that they had medical exemption but yet we were stopped and harassed at every stop. This made it impossible to enjoy the zoo and everything it has to offer. My daughter was upset that her special day was ruined by people making a huge deal out of nothing.
It was ok. I thought there was gonna be more to look at. I guess all this covid19 messed everything up
My favorite thing about this zoo is the care they give their animals. Early morning visits allow you to see that their animals aren't just for conservation awareness. Carcass feeding the carnivores, introducing new elephants to their herd and such, visiting early is definitely the way to go! A funny note, the penguins near the monkeys are from South Africa and hate the cold, they rarely come out if it's below 60*F.
No animals out in the exhibits. Very disappointing.
Zoo lights get better every year! Had a great time, and the elephants put on a show for us too!

Not too many animals to see but that's understandable considering the weather. Beautiful place non the less.
We never have a bad time here. Today I volunteered with my daughter's school. The WHOLE school went! There was also 4 other school districts! Amazingly, after we entered, there was still a lot of room for everyone. They are building on an addition to the zoo so I'm excited to see what that is. Was really excited to try the new giraffe feeding exhibit but it was closed today. Giraffe keepers were really nice though. We'll definitely be back, as always.
My husband's first time at the zoo we loved it although we didn't see the tigar or lion it was good
Absolutely exceeded all expectations. Wonderful layout , great , clean exhibits and awesome collection of species. I would put this zoo up there with Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha , a zoo often rated as one of the best in America. Well done Denver !!!
I love the ZOO!! the newer addition has really made a huge difference. Make sure to checkout the BBQ place near the Bears for some really yummy food at a good price.
This is better than your average zoo. Their exhibits are larger and more natural than most. Definitely check it out when I am in Denver.
DO NOT come here. This zoo is a disgrace to every other place, and inhumane. I cannot believe this zoo is allowed to operate the way it does. Almost every single animal exhibit has the same exact terrain. the hippo had no water, a lot of animals are by themselves. Every single animal looks restless and depressed. Do not give your money to this organization as they are not properly using it to take care of these animals. They need to reevaluate their priorities and give these animals the respect and care that they deserve.
This is a great zoo! They keep it updated and fresh and it's always clean. The animals seem happy and comfortable and they always have another room to go into if they're uncomfortable. There is a lot of interactive stuff as well. Although it is open year round it's much more fun in warm weather = more animals!

Absolutely wonderful zoo! It is very easy to spend the whole day there.
I recommend arriving at the zoo by 945, otherwise parking fills up. Otherwise, you can normally find plenty of parking in City Park. You can bring in your own food, the food leans on the expensive side. (One pretzel is over $5) There is also a small play area for kids with a little "creek", easy for toddlers and bigger kids alike.
As much money as they make, one would think it would be more updated.. some of the animal enclosures are literally the same from when I was a kid, except empty now
Great zoo, got lost a few times, that's really the only downfall. Slightly tricky to navigate. Friendly people, clean, fun.
The manimals that we re out we re not active and there was only one at a time out. Some animals were not even outside and when I looked it up to see when it closed it said 6:30 but they kicked us out at 5:00

Being where it is this Zoo was actually pretty cool. Close to the city and everyday life the denver zoo does a great job endorsing you in the feel and experience. The Denver zoo offers a wide variety of animals allowing you to get up close and personal one if the best zoos I've visited. I certainly will be getting annual zoo passes!
Great natural habitats allow you to feel close to animals. Lots of guides to answer questions about the animals and give directions. Have beer on tap plus canned wines available at the drink and snack kiosks. Also great security to keep everyone safe.

Wide open spaces and the animals all looked happy. Food was good and fresh. Employees walking the exhibits were very willing to answer questions.
I really love to go there. And I have always loved it. But ofcourse the animals want to be free but these ones seem really unhappy there.. And the exhibits seem really small for a lot of the animals there. They have done a lot but need to do a lot more. The tigers need more room. Js

Very good Zoo dedicated to the care of their animals. It has a large variety of animals in spacious and beautiful exhibits. There's a good number of food stands and restaurants, as well as souvenir shops. I'd highly recommend attending one of the animal demonstrations. We were lucky to see the feeding of the lions, which was informing and flat out cool. The Denver Zoo never disappoints.
Lots of giraffes, elephants and penguins. I love penguins. Lots of exhibits. A pleasant way to spend the day.
Disappointing for 4 kids who rode an hour and arrived at 4 p.m. only to find the zoo closed. Who knew of a zoo closing at 4? Check out the Cincinnati zoo. Much more accommodating!

First time back to the zoo since March 15th, one way traffic makes it easy for social distancing. Great raspberry beer was extra fabulous in the heat. Staff is wiping everything down continuously, very impressive!

The area of the zoo is clean the service customer is great. But the animals look sad, angry and tired. For example the tiger looks angry and tired . The tiger was roaring vary sad and angry. For I think this is the reason of this his that the zoo is open every day of the week through Monday through Friday. The tiger and the other animals need some rest from people because they look angry and sad. I went today to the zoo and I herd and saw the tiger roaring angrily and walking around vary stressed . Another reason is that the animals don t have enough space to play run around . I saw today a goose he was in a room vary small and closed and it had little bet of water to swim . All the animals that I saw in this zoo look angry sad tired and stressed. I wasn t happy with this zoo at all . This message goes for the workers and the top owners of the zoo . I hope this problem is fixed as soon as possible . I would vary like this to happen. Thank you
We love visiting the Denver Zoo and have been members for several years. The tiger and elephant exhibit have both been renovated recently and they are constantly working toward updating other exhibits.
Even on a busy day the zoo doesn t feel overcrowded which is one of the reason we would recommend this over some of the other family friendly attractions in Denver.
Also the kettle corn is fantastic.

The Denver zoo left so much to be desired. We had a better experience at the Colorado Springs zoo. If the animals weren t been taken care of , or etc they were still not on display. We basically went to see mostly empty exhibits. With a family of 6 that quickly adds up.
I am a much bigger fan of places like the wild animal sanctuary however this Zoo has always been great in my opinion and over the past 10 years has been constantly upgrading the enclosures and programs kudos to them.
Had a great time lots of amazing attractions and they now offer giraffe feedings. So cool

This is a fun, well kept zoo. The train and carousel are highlights and the animal shows are great if you time your visit well.
Went to see the polar bear. He was not in his exhibit. I was expecting it to take more than a hour to walk through, surprisingly small. Not worth the price we paid. Disappointing.
