We are staying here for the first time as part of a dance competition. The room was cleans and cozy. The staff are nice and helpful. The balcony view is spectacular! We made some request for the room and they were very accommodating. We plan on staying here again! Great place.

Location is great. Old and dated. Old room service food sat in the lobby of Bayshore building 1 for three days...kinda gross. Activities unorganized. There are better places to stay for this kind of money.

We stayed in the new Lakeside Lodge in a one bedroom condo which is owned privately. It is rented out through the resort. For the amount of rent charged (over $500 per day) we were disappointed because the condo was very small and cheaply furnished. Also, there was sand on the floor, the stove and oven were dirty and the two frypans provided were old and corroded. No coffee table in the tiny living room and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. Down below outside, the hot tub allowed babies and small children so we had no desire to go into it. Dogs were allowed to roam the grounds and go to the bathroom wherever. Empty coffee cups and paper garbage were left around the building and it seemed that the cleanup didn't occur for a while. Not a holiday for seniors as there were hordes of children. We won't be back.

*Time share holder review* cleanliness and maintenance is not a priority at deerhurst. Having to clean the unit upon arrival is for lack of a better term disappointing. When complaints are made, they fall on deaf ears due to the fact deerhurst has changed their main goal to money and greed. They don't care about 30+ years of loyalty. Very sad. Shame shame shame.

Good facilities and restaurant staff but HORRIBLE front desk service. We were given a room two hours after check in time and that was only after I gave an ultimatum asking for a full refund while I was looking for other accommodations. The room that we were given had an ambient view and walkout to the parking lot. I booked this weeks in advance and paid for a premium room. The front desk team told me multiple different stories and assured me that we would be moved to a better room. But here we are in our little nest in the parking lot-night 2. I was also reminded about the $100 food credit that I was made to feel lucky to
receive due to our inconveniences but I didn't bother bringing up the fact that we spent almost that amount on dinner while we waited over two hours for a room. Now we are on night number two of four I wonder what lies are in store for us tomorrow. Brutal customer service. Could have camped in a Walmart parking lot and had better service. Horrible horrible hotel service but good facilities.

Stayed at the lakeside lodge, fyi if you want views of the lake make sure you book "Lakeview." The accommodations were great, up to date and clean (perhaps other reviews were of the main lodge). Lots of stuff to do for adults and kids alike. The complaint is with the food... every bit, from the Eclipse, to the maple bar, and Comapss grill were, at best, pre-made and not only not worth the money but in some instances disgusting - and had to send a couple orders back. We are by no means food connoisseurs but I can handle myself in the kitchen, and this was sub par at best and made Cuba look good. Hidden valley resort around the corner had better food and would recommend eating off resort. Hope this helps.

A fun filled week with the family. Awesome food.....lots of activities for all of us....love the new additions ( indoor treehouse play area , and outdoor camp fire pits and beach volleyball)

I would say that the grounds and lake are beautiful, the staff are incredibly courteous and attentive but for the money the rooms are not cleaned well and our bathroom smelled of urine. Plus half of the rooms overlook the parking lot. Mediocre review.

The Glory Days of Deerhurst are over. There were three couples and we booked this over a month ago requesting rooms overlooking the golf course and in the same building. We were told if you booked it through TripAdvisor or Expedia it is not possible to change your rooms and we all got rooms overlooking the parking lot. Upon entry our floors were filthy, the couch was covered in breadcrumbs our carpet was dirty, the shower had mold and our dishwasher was leaking. This was in building number 53 and is owned by a condo Corp. We have been coming here for years in summer and winter but I think those days are over. It felt and looked very tired and for $300 a night I had expected more. Be careful how you book this hotel and make sure you are very specific where you want to be as we were , but did not get but we had requested. On the plus side the buffet breakfast was lovely.

Had read some mixed reviews so my expectations were not overly high, however we were very pleasantly surprised with our stay at Deerhurst.
All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our room, in the Main Building, was spacious and clean. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. We are very discerning travellers so not easily impressed but Deerhurst certainly exceeded our expectations. We came up primarily to hike in Algonquin (that is a must) so didn't utilize the amenities on this visit but the grounds looked fabulous. Were there a few very minor points that could be improved, absolutely, but nothing that detracted from our stay. Yes we would stay there again.

We stayed here for a conference. The rooms are nice, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it is in a beautiful location. The only thing lacking are just the small details. The restaurants were understaffed, but the food was fantastic. Ice machines on every other floor. Those sorts of nit-picking details. Still a good place to stay.

Although many activities were included (golf, kayaking, swimming, etc.) they all came with hidden restrictions. For example, golfing is free only after 4pm. Also many activities only take place on the weekend and shut down on Monday even though that was one of the nights we were staying due to a long weekend. I'd advice contacting the resort about the specifics of everything you are interested in beforehand.

When we arrived, the room was dirty. Crumbs all over the floor, dirty table, dirty stove and ... someone's cut nails on the shelf above the fireplace. They knew we are 4 people, but have not provided the bedsheets for a sofa bed. We had to call at 1am and wait till they bring them. The amount of dishwasher detergent was only enough for 3 washes and I had to call 3 times and wait for 1.5 hours for them to bring more. We have booked the 2 rooms close one to another with our friends, but when they arrived they were told there was some mistake and were given a room in another building 10 minutes walk from us.We are very disappointed. Too many screw-ups for the price they charge.

My girlfriend and I had an extremely pleasant experience at this resort. Staff was very accommodating to our requests, for example having a later check out, taking pictures etc. The staff was very kinda and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be visiting again.

Great for golfing, family vacation... they have decent size pool, small gym and indoor rock climbing. The resort fee includes canoes and paddleboards...there are some trails to hike on the Deerhurst property and I would recommend Sanctuary Trail (if going in summers then bring a bug spray!!!!) The Amba Spa is in the subfloor.. felt it was a little too tight... the steam room stinks (avoid it!!) massages were great though

Came for a wedding and staff was very responsive and accommodating to all our requests. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was good, although a little pricey, however, that is not unusual for a resort/ hotel. At least there were a few dining options on site. City of Huntsville is only 10 min away, so it's possible to grab a few basics at the store and save a few bucks that way as there is a fridge in the room. Nice amenities like the gym and pool. Several gift shops.

Great

Stayed at Deerhurst for 2 nights down by the lake (1st-2nd June 2016). Had nice time apart from getting back on the 2nd at 8pm and there was no hot water. They had told us that the water would be off for 1hr in the morning but notheing to do with the hot water.

There were no signs on the enterances to the block 1 stating no hot water. Got message about and told to use the swimming pool showers, this was after a 10km hike through algonquin park so not feeling overly nice. No offer of a spare room in the main complex to have a private shower... Ended up with no shower that night. Hot water still wasn't on by 11:30pm and just slept. Was working the following morning luckily. In the end we got a $50 discount on the night.

Just dissapointed in how it was handled and not informing anything of the issue.

Nice enough place BUT when you go to pay your bill you will find extra "resort fee" charges which add up to a lot of extra money, per night, for every thing you purchase, SO be warned, these extra fees are a big rip off, nothing more than gouging. We have come to Deerhurst many times over the years but because of these extra fees we will never return, NEVER.

I would most definitely go back, it's a nice resort with lots of stuff to do and great views!
The only down side I'd say is it's always packed and when I was there (during covid) the room service wasn't that good but all in all a nice resort

Beautiful view, very cozy rooms, and a wonderfully helpful staff. It's just outside Huntsville, a cute town with lots to do, but there's no need because there's so much to do at the resort. Some parts of the resort seem a little outdated, and closure or random unavailability of some restaurants/activities is kind of disheartening if you enjoy that sort of thing.

Beautiful place with lots of water activities for kids. Friendly staff. Downside of it is the cleanliness if the place. Beach full of dog poop. Rooms need to be cleaned properly. Bathroom and bed sheets are ckean but dust and bread crumbs in the corners and under the bed

We stayed in a beautiful apartment facing the lake. Beautiful scenery!
Comfortable room for 4 people, with a double bed in the bedroom (very good!) And a sofa bed in the living room (bearable). There is a TV in the living room and bedroom.
They provide all the equipment for free snow activities, such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, fat bikes, even to take to Arrowhead Park (where cross-country ski trails are worth following). (They do not provide ski downl hill equipment, which can be rented at the Hidden Ballet station, or snowmobile, which can be rented at the hotel itself.)

Beautiful cottage style resort with all kinds of accommodations from hotel style rooms to multi room townhouses. Convenient shuttle service to get you around the property which is very convenient in the winter months. Disappointed that our stay was in between seasons so there were no activities other than walking trails available. Apparently, there is usually quite a variety of activities to take advantage of. The meals were well prepared and service was quite laid back.

It was very nice. Looked nice but there was nothing that really stood out. People were nice and accommodating in all areas. They tried to do whatever they could was the impression I got.

Was there for a wedding and it was lots of fun. 4 PM check in is a bit ridiculous for a wedding starting at 4 wish they were more accommodating. Other than that hotel was really nice, didnt get the best service it it was super busy.

I would never go back!

I would never go back!
They Charged me 3 separate times for my room, and even after getting all the cleared up when we went to check out they still insisted on telling me that I still need to pay for my room!!!
Talk about lack of communication.
Not only that but I found their food to be WAY over priced.
$21 a person for a breakfast buffet that to me was like the type of buffet breakfast you find at a best western. That was the first and the last time we ate at the resort all weekend.
Also for the amount of money you pay to stay here you think they would come and clean your room, we stayed from Fri-Mon and not a single person came to clean the room or even give us fresh towels!
The rooms are nice, the only thing that I didn't like is that the mini fridge in the room can hardly fit 3 bottles of water and it would be nice if the rooms had a microwave.

For me it was my first visit. A little bit overrated and too pricey. Nice, clean and very spacious, very helpful and knowledgeable staff that will answer your questions and beautiful location

It's only our first night here but have been very pleased with our experience so far :) One employee stood out right away, John D. He was very helpful, polite, and when we had a small issue with a booking his response was, "I'll fix that right now". And he did! A+++ service & an asset to the resort.

Stayed in the new Lakeside Condo. Rooms were fantastic, plenty of space and a great view of the lake and pool. Easy access to eveything. Pool is right next to the building along side the water parks.
