Loved it. This place got a ton of snow and is absolutely stunning. X country ski, Ice skating and snow mobile are the big winter sports here. Downhill ski is not as built out as Blue Mountain since the hill is much smaller. Deerhurst is much more secluded and intimate. I prefer the feel of it all much more than Blue Mountain.

I worked here last summer and absolutely loved it. The experience here is amazing. So much beauty in the heart of Huntsville. I have stayed here numerous times as a guest, with my family, with little to no complaints.

Deerhurst continues to amaze me with new additions around the resort. They could use a little renovation however, the experience accounts for the older decor. With horseback-riding, water sports, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, restaurants, etc. It is defiantly a place for adventurous souls. You can also relax and take it easy near the lake, if you re the kind of family/person to lay low on vacation. Either way, it is a great experience all around.

There is so much to do and so much to see. I have defiantly fallen in love with this place and hope to be back next season.

We were so excited to spend our vacation at Deerhurst. But we were significantly let down.

Our room had cob webs in mostly all corners when we arrived which we dealt with ourselves.

You can t get ice from the ice machine, so you are told to go buy ice from there general store, but there is no place to keep your ice frozen during your stay.

The icing on the cake was it took 5 hours and 5 phone calls to get towels brought to our room.

I had emailed Deerhurst over a week ago regarding our concerns and still not one response regarding our concerns.

The grounds is gorgeous but the customer service is horrific. I will never recommend Deerhurst

Nice place to spend a weekend but some of the rooms are a little dated and in need of some repair as well as most of the wooden decks and stairs. Lots of stuff to do with the kids most of which was included with the room so that was a plus

The resort was lovely. We stayed in a lodge about a 5 minute walk from the main building. It was very quiet which made the winter experience so enjoyable.

The downside of being there at a quiet time is that the food gets boring very quickly.

The upside, unhindered access to all of the activities and equipment albeit sometimes on wacky schedules.

Pretty nice, I'd give it a 3.5 to 4 star rating. A bit overpriced for what you get. We stayed at the Bayshore building. Great view, old building, very small bar fridge. The kids had lots of fun though.

Booked a suite with 2 bathrooms and a balcony, recieved a ground floor room, parking lot view, and one bathroom. One bedroom did not have an air vent. We ordered room service for breakfast and were brought the wrong meal, many parts of the meal were stale. Didn't see any staff disinfecting the 3 days we were there. Also tried to call the front desk on two occasions to ask a question, no answers.

My husband and I stayed at Deerhurst resort this weekend to celebrate his birthday. We stayed in Bayshore 1 and to be honest we were completely disappointed by the room and service. For the price we were paying, I expected a much cleaner room, restaurants and more accommodating service. We had requested a king bed room but ended up with two doubles. The 3 chairs in the room were disgusting to the point we didn t even want to touch them let alone sit in any of them.
We also found the at each restaurant, maple pub and the compass, the tables we sat at were always dirty and sticky and needed to by wiped. We really are not generally bothered by this however it was really disappointing when we considered the amount we paid to spend time at this resort.
On our drive into the resort it was raining and a massive pothole wasn t marked and we didn t see it in the dark as it was filled with water and we bottomed out on the way in. We moved a pylon there the next day and noticed there were several marks from where cars had scrapped.
Finally we asked for a late check out on Sunday as it was the only nice day all weekend so we wanted to extend by an hour and were not accommodated.
I reached out to management in hopes these issues can be fixed so that the next guest doesn t have to experience Deerhurst the same way we did with no response. Save your money and vacation elsewhere.

Lots of stuff to do, we visited in the winter. Skiing, skating, snowshoeing, hiking, snow mobiles, kick sleds. The rooms are dated but comfortable. We were disappointed with food options. Particularly the "fancy" restaurant, when we arrived they said we could not order from the menu and that buffet was our only choice. We drove in to town for dinner.

Beautiful place in the heart of Muskoka. Large rooms. Great views. Lots of activity options. Parking can get limited. I was here for a conference, the spaces were clean and easily handles large groups. Food was good but they often ran out.

Stayed at Deerhurst this past weekend for our honeymoon. Staff was nice, and room was clean but hotel was understaffed and was missing some of the things you would expect from a nice resort. Pool was missing towels, bar and restaurant was very slow service (waitress blamed it on being short staffed), and front desk was not super helpful (also blamed the sub par service on being understaffed).

Overall the stay was ok, but expected much more when considering the price tag per room. We will choose to stay somewhere else next time we are in Muskoka.

Many changes are occurring at the resort. There's a lot of construction going on. I think the changes are making it look more like Toronto north than the Muskoka vibe that used to exist. The new main Lodge looks like a low rise Toronto condo or retirement home. Arguably it is not built yet, but it is hideous for the location. Hopefully they'll find a way to make it work. If you're looking for peace and serenity and the essence of Muskoka - you will not find it here. If instead you're looking for a theme park or amusement park and all of the associated pushing, shoving, congestion and lack of privacy - you will find it at the "NEW Deerhurst".

Not what it once was. The unit we stayed in was tired and worn which was unfortunate as the property could be a lot more. On site food was just OK (at best). Feedback in talking to others was consistent with this. Hopefully change will come.

Attended Deerhurst for the World Waterski Show Tournament. The parking shuttle was a mess the first morning (too little capacity for the number of people) but it was sorted for the afternoon. The venue however was brilliant. Well set up and a beautiful location.

Deerhurst resort is located in Huntsville, and is only accessible by cars. There are snow mountains and skating rings nearby, and also lots of winter activities like cross-country skiing and snow mobiling. We also attended to shows with the splash and boots duo and used their amenities. We had a good time staying in the resort overall, food was decent (though a bit pricy - the rate you would expect in a hotel restaurant ) , but many facilities are run down. The pool was old and the change room appears to be run down, no functional lockers and it has a moldy carpet in the change room. Half of the machines in the arcade centre was broken, though they do have some new games.

Stayed here in February. Beautiful place with lots of winter activities and only a small drive to Arrowhead Provincial Park! Also very close to the city but also far enough that you don t hear it. We enjoyed skating on the ice trail, cross country skiing and snow shoeing up the hill across the street to a beautiful lookout! Would 10/10 recommend and would definitely come back!

Nice assortment of winter activities, including snowshoeing trails, fat biking, and cross country skiing. The resort is close to Arrowhead Park which has a skate trail as well as it's own snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The food is a little pricey but you get what you pay for as the quality is quite good. The staff at the resort are all friendly and helpful and the resort offers a number of hotel rooms as well as condo rentals.

The staff were lovely and the resort was beautiful. The shuttle service from the main building and our room was so efficient and helped out on a snowy day. The resort features Maple Pub. The menu is new and the options are great. The view is picturesque and even in the winter they featured outdoor activities.

Christmas at Deerhurst has been great so far. We arrived in time for dinner on Christmas Eve, which was a fantastic buffet with many options. Our room is spacious and has a large balcony. You can control the television with your phone, which I rather enjoy. The pool area is great, and while we haven't been able to acquire snowshoes yet, we were able to walk around outside see the property. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful, and I'm sure we'll come back to visit in the summer.

The resort is beautiful. The condo on the other hand expired and many furniture items were defective. The resort couldn't do anything about it because the condo's are privately owned. The owner is not obliged to replace the broken furniture.

Beautiful resort with great views, delicious breakfast, the indoor pool was very cool for winter season. The best rooms are located at the lake views, Bayside area, they are renovated but it's not in the main building, it is a 5 mins walk.

We came for the small town pistols concert. We were disappointed in the restaurant options, but settled in Maple (would have been nice if eclipse was open since the 3rd restaurant didn't have much of a "normal" selection). The concert performance itself was great, but the sound was too loud the that size of room. At the back it was muffled and hard to make out the words. We won the tickets, it would have been nice if we could have upgraded and had the buffet.

The quality of the room was bad for the price, the building is run down, definitely needs renovation. They had no room service because of covid which is understandable but when we had to wait 7hours and call 3 times for new towels that's unnaceptable really. They haven't accommodated for covid all they did is remove half their services. We had to leave our trash outside our bedroom and no one came to pick it up for a full day. And on top of it all the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything which is really annoying.

Worse customer service I've ever had at a resort. I would not stay here again. Seemed to be run by inadequate staff who had a hard time issuing our 3 rooms cards, couldn't find our reservation after driving 4 hours, but at least he was smiling. I wasn't.

We attended a wedding at Deerhurst on October 12, 2019. Because it was busy season we had to rent a room for 2 nights at $222.50 approximately per night. The rooms were small and really not worth the amount charged.
We arrived on Friday October 11, 2019. One of the bars was closed and the only one open was right by the lounge. We asked if we could sit in the lobby and have a drink in which we were told yes, but we would have to order our own drinks at the bar as the lounge was not serviced. That was not a problem. We waited approximately 1/2 hour before we received our drinks and witnessed a server by the name of Jamie E yelling at a customer for who knows what reason.
To my chagrin the same Jamie E ended up being the bartender at the wedding we were attending. Same rude disposition.

Beautiful place. Wish we would have had a room with a view of the lake or the golf course instead.of the parking lot - those rooms should be a touch cheaper. Breakfast buffet was okay, not great but the staff were amazing. Spa was fantastic - cannot recommend enough. Lots of water activities included with the stay which was great and lots of other activities available as well. Will definitely be back!

Super calm and chill resort that is very clean and modern. Has a variety of activities in the lobby 'pavillion' e.g hotel, pool, lounge, make a teddy, cinema etc. However the lake is pretty cold. Families should come here at spring and summer.
I really recommend this resort!

Only reason why it is not a not a 5 star is the bathroom fans never work in the main building and the sliding doors and large windows really need replacing..they drip badly, freeze shut and are hard to open; because their is no working fan the moisture in the room is too high.

Nicely renovated in the past few years but 1/3 of the resort is closed due to a large construction project which has closed the old 'main' beach. The remaining beach is pretty busy but very clean.
