I have to point out that the reservation team (and manager) took very good care of us on a recent visit. It was a birthday celebration and they helped make it a great experience from start to end.

We have been coming to Deerhurst over the years (love everything about it) and it is good to see the resort not only surviving but thriving during these COVID days.

Just came back from a 2-day getaway with my sister. Snowshoe trails are not marked properly however you can't get lost. The room was a suite with 2 double beds. Beds were comfy. Got a $100 credit per night towards spa so we indulged. Awesome ladies. Thanks Ana and Rebecca for the wonderful treatments. Thanks GerryLee for checking us in earlier. Kitchen in suite had everything we needed and suite was clean. Will visit again. Suggest you go early in week and when no special events scheduled. Resort was quiet and awesome. Just what we needed.

A resort that really takes you back to the 2000s! Nothing has upgraded since the last time we came here in 2004. I imagine their wifi is still the same because it is incredibly slow.

We are at the Eclipse restaurant. The food and service were good.

Friendly welcome but unfortunately the building where we were housed, was very disappointing and aging, but also very far from the main building (where is the breakfast)! We had a large quiet room with a good view of the lake but again with stained sheets, a broken mosquito net, stained chairs. There are many activities included but far too family for my taste and we did not necessarily know how to go about doing them. We did not have the opportunity to enjoy the indoor pool. We had the impression to be classified according to our social category and moreover not in good! Basically this is a clearly family resort not made for us.

They only really have activities during the weekend. And it seems over priced for what you get. They have two resturants in the "resort" yet the menus are EXACTLY the same. So it's really pointless to even have two. When we checked in the girl at the front desk asked if we've been there before, we said no, and she just told us where to find our room and that's it. We found out how things work around here from asking guests who were nearby. It's also very incontinent to have to go all the way to the front desk for pool towels when the shop has already closed. The towels should be in the locker room not at desks that are not even on the same floor as the pool. This place has a bad set up and really isn't worth the money. We won't be coming again. Spend a little extra and go to the jw merriot. It's worth every penny.

Great place for a family vacation. Tons to do in all seasons. I've had an amazing time in both summer and winter. Highly recommend, just don't need to golf to go. Follow their page to learn about their monthly events and concert lineup. Hidden gem and only 2hrs from Toronto.

This resort is very overpriced and it is not the luxury resort they are selling. It is a poorly run timeshare that is extremely expensive for mundane quality. The room isn t even cleaned properly.

When booking a room online, you can t book which view you get - so you can get lake or parking lot view for the same price.

Beautiful setting. Dated rooms in need of some updating. Sheets didn't fit the bed well and kept coming off all night. Construction right next door. Not a Bad experience but also not worth the expensive price...

Amazing accommodation with nice, big, clean rooms. Good place for some activities like kayaking, hiking trails, swimming, sports and relaxation. Would definitely come again.

Great Wedding here. Resort is run well. Good northern Muskoka experience. Comes with a price tag however....

Deerhurst has become a yearly winter trip for my family of 4 because there is so much to do and we have a great time when we're there. In 3 days we managed to go skating, swimming, cross country skiing, hiking, downhill skiing, rock climbing, snowmobiling, and even got the kids out for pony rides! Granted some things like indoor rock climbing are a small extra fee but it is understandable. The onsite restaurants are decent albeit slightly high in price for what you get but let's be honest, you're paying for convenience.....if you want cheap food, head into Huntsville for several different options. There are a bunch of room options to choose from but our favorite so far has been the Summit Lodge rooms that include a kitchenette as it's a bit more comfortable when you need a bit of downtime and have the added bonus of allowing you to cook some meals on your own if you're so inclined. Deerhurst is also super close to other activities like snowmobiling, downhill skiing, and horseback riding which makes it that much more convenient. Can't wait for our trip next year!

Food was delicious! View was amazing! Great place for a weekend.

The best thing is that It is total disable friendly. So even a disabled person can enjoy all their features. Even pets can also enjoy the resort stay.. its 100% pet friendly.

The service is fantastic. The rooms are clean and it's a perfect relaxing getaway.

The rooms are great and same for the amenities. The staff is absolutely wonderful.

Very pleasant stay, food was good, golf was better. Would recommend.

Great resort. Beautiful place and surrounding area. Great staff. The horseback riding there was amazing. The buffet for dinner and breakfast was very good.

The Deerhurst Resort needs some TLC. Rooms were clean, but outdated. Location is great... close to Huntsville, but still away from it all.

This place was amazing! The beach is beautiful! So sandy and soft.

I was here for two nights, it's a nice resort, but my room was full of mosquitos and dust mites.

Great weekend at deerhurst in a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom condo. Room was dated but clean.
View of the greens and a small water view. 3rd floor room but because of the layout it's only one flight of stairs you go up. Had a blast tree top trekking. Sunday brunch was a disappointment to say the least. Don't know if I would return. Lots of places in Ontario just as good if not better.

Had a great time over the weekend here, friendly staff and great facilities. Definitely recommend for a family friendly getaway.

Beautiful wedding venue, wonderful staff and absolutely stunning location. Amenities were above and beyond.

Good for a weekend getaway. Liked everything except the cockroaches in the bath tub. Very calm resort with decent breakfast options

Great spot to visit in the winter. Lots for kids to do including snow shoe walking and cross country skiing both included. Downhill skiing is 5 minutes drive away at Hidden Valley. Also a games room, rock climbing wall, small indoor playground and decent size indoor pool. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Couple of average restaurants in the the hotel but many more in Huntsville which is no more than a 10 minute drive.

Fantastic resort. Visited in September when weather is cooling down. Loved the location and the new condo rooms. A summer visit would be more fun and a late fall visit more scenic. Hope to come back again.p

If you've got kids and want a great Ontario getaway, Deerhurst is a fantastic choice. We've been coming here for almost 10 years and always have a great time. In the summer there's canoeing, waterskiing, treetop trekking and too many others to list. Same with the winter. On our last trip here at Christmas, we spent most of it cross country skiing, snowshoeing and kick sledding. I'd highly recommend coming here any time of year. You'll always find something to do and a lot is included in the resort fee!

Was there to golf the Lakeside course. Great service and fun as always. Good value for the price paid.

We booked this last minute, it was a quick 2.5 hour drive from the GTA, very beautiful grounds, even in the dead of winter. This place impressed us, from the early check-in to Xavier who was extremely helpful at the Recreation centre where you pick up skis, skates and snowshoes. It was very busy because it was Family day weekend but he still took the time to find our gear, show us how to put on our skis properly, and direct us to the trails. Then there's the wonderful Eclipse restaurant. I read negative reviews but had already booked. Christine M. was our server, she was super friendly and attentive, food was delicious. My husband and I don't usually eat roast beef but it so juicy we had seconds. Dessert was delicious with many options. We were so satisfied we booked reservations for breakfast. It was our first time at Deerhurst, we travel and stay at hotels quite a bit and it's definitely more family friendly with many things to do. You could cross country ski, ice skate, use the snowmobiles or kicksleds, swim, rock climb, and more. My kids truly enjoyed themselves and so did we. We were put in a renovated room at Bay Shore away from main building but you didn't have to wait longer than 5 mins for a shuttle to take you back and forth. The shuttle drivers work so hard and are very friendly even though they are constantly dropping off and picking up people. Room itself was spacious, hotel style, nice view, and water pressure was great, water remained nice and hot. After a busy day of activities all you want to do is have a nice long shower. Also, early check in was appreciated and the young women at the desk in the evenings are so helpful as well. We haven't left yet but can't wait to come back and bring more family with us next time we come. Thank you so much for making our Family Day Weekend so effortless, relaxing and fun.

really sad about my experience here.
I have a giant list of reasons why but really the main ones are that I came to celebrate my birthday and anniversary with my fiance, we told the resort this information and it seamed they didn't even care.. they gave us our room at the end of the property that we didn't accept because we would have to walk for 10 minutes outside in December to go use the pool or eat breakfast..
I work for a top hotel in Toronto and I know that we would have had a bottle of wine and some sort of amenity waiting in the room for such an occasion.
there was also the breakfast buffet witch was laughable.. I'm a chef and I couldn't eat the food especially the horrible omelette that was made for me and when I asked for my bacon to be warned up on the flat top they put it in the microwave and charred it and charged us full price after only drinking juice and coffee because we literally could not eat any of it.
We ended up getting in a car accident wile visiting and we called the hotel for help and they declined and didn't even ask us if we were okay after the ordeal or even when checking out..
my family visits this resort several times a year and I can promise you I will be sharing my experience with them.
this post should have been done last month but I'm a busy person and wanted to see if it mattered.. chances are since I've seen how the hotel is operated they will see this post and have it removed instead of reaching out and trying to rectify dropping the ball.
super upset not to mention it was the same price as a Toronto hotel and it was Motel quality..

The indoor pool was too cold (everybody in the pool agreed when I was there). They advertise lots of activities such as snowmobile or skating and then it turns out it was not available. They really should be more clear about the activities on their website. Snowmobile, for example, was not available from 27th until the 2nd due weather conditions, which seems to be a lousy excuse, but even though, it should be on the website. Overall, it's overpriced. The rate doesn't include breakfast, which is ridiculous with the price that you pay for a room.
My room had a balcony, and there was a towel and some water bottles from previous guests, which means they didn't clean the space at all. Also poor amenities in the room, like shower cap, etc.
Other than that, the new year's eve dinner was really great, the party was awesome with a very good DJ.

A very charming hotel, perfect service and a beautiful lake. Large rooms with carpets a little dated, and a small lack of conservation. But, in general, everything is excellent. We will come back.

We were so excited when we booked our very first stay at Deerhurst resort. Boy, were we dissappointed!!! The outside of our building was under construction so messy, the room was outdated, there were bugs in our bath tub (eek), the TV was disfunctional . When we mentioned dit at check out, we basically just got a "sorry". Will not consider staying there again.

Spacious room with lake view, silent and clean. Great location to visit the park of alconquin, possibility to choose many water sports. Perfect for families with children of all ages.

Pretty average facilities, pavilion is impressive, clean but a bit crowded. Not too many choices when it comes to dining but can drive to places so not a big deal

It s 3 star resort with 5 star prices. COVID service is awkward at times , depending who do you meet( temperature checks, pool usage etc.) Booked all in advance, still experience wasn t smooth . Eclipse restaurant service was great on Friday . On Saturday some very rude host guy who showed us our table almost spoiled whole evening, he definitely should not be in customer service. Waiters doing their best but place looks understaffed. Front desk was very helpful whole stay . Lots of things closed due COVID or season. But it s staycation so lower your expectations and enjoy views .

Deerhurst is undergoing significant lake front reconstruction. Accommodations appear to mainly in the older units. Great location. Sandy beach and water sports.
Also larger banquet and conference facilities with indoor pool.
Well known for its class golf courses. Situated on Peninsula Lake near Huntsville.

Not a lot to do after dinner on site. This is not like an all inclusive down south.

The resort is beautiful and the staff is helpful & friendly. On our second day it rained all day but there was plenty of indoor activities for families an kids. My only complaint is the food, the prices are way too high for the quality of food served. Nothing tasted bad but you are better off driving into town to a nice restaurant.

Loved the golf course as well as the paddle boats. The little town is amazing as well

Okay, in older building (Baysshore 1) facing lake but no balcony to enjoy it. Make sure to book Bayshore 2 whi h has nice balconies and seatig.

Just finished an anniversary getaway here and am so happy we came! The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The whole resort is beautiful with lots of great artwork to look at. The staff, especially Gabriela and Paul went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and happy. Thank you for the amazing hospitality, will be returning!

The room was fairly clean but dated! My children did enjoy the nicely heated swimming pool. Sadly, it did not stand up to it's reputation for me. Would not go back.

We love coming here in the winter and especially for the Sunday brunch. We usually get a parking lot view, but this time she gave us garden view, wasn't anything spectacular. The amenities are fantastic; swimming pool, rock wall, arcade! Everything is always very clean, and everyone is super friendly.

Rooms were quality, lake services was amazing and the splash park is fun for the kids.

It's a nice hotel but not sure it's worth the cost. No major complaints. I'm sure the resort fee is more worth it in the summer when it includes activities.

A resort experience in a more relaxed environment. Despite the considerable prices, I can safely say that the experience is worth every penny. Excellent rooms, an unmatched amount of activities and services in the area, good food and excellent swimming pools. If you are looking for a couple of days of relaxation After tourism, I could not recommend more

Guest room was lovely. Dinner at the maple pub was average priced for standard pub fare. The resort is beautiful and the staff is very friendly

Deerhurst is a large expensive resort in Muskoka. From the parking lot, after you take in the size of the resort, the next clue that you're in an upscale location is the electric car charging stations. All areas are spacious, with large hallways and ballrooms.

Went for a midweek getaway with my Wife. It was amazing! Such an amazing facility with tons of activities for everyone! A great solo, group, romantic or family vacation destination!

Location is beautiful, rooms are large and very clean. Staff is helpful, friendly and great overall.

Compared to 2 years ago, more kids activities for the kids to choose from which they enjoyed very much. Renovations still ongoing for some condos, but staff are all friendly including the personable shuttle drivers.

It is a very large resort with a number of outbuildings. Large apartment but noisy. Around the resort 2 beautiful golf courses, large water with all kinds of activities. Had dinner in the restaurant, was very good with friendly staff.

Anytime travelling North of the GTA and experiencing nature with picturesque scenery is beautiful, Deerhurst resort is not the only place to offer this kind of quality. In fact I was in Parrysound where I rented a cottage for much less (prior to coming to Deerhurst with family), and the lakes and scenery are just as if not more beautiful.

Deerhurst has this reputation of great quality and service, well my family and I were left disappointed when the quality of housekeeping services failed at completing their task. After being out for over 7 hours we returned to find our room not cleaned, when this was brought to managements attention, the only thing they could do was send a bag with some fresh towels to the room, that was their form of compensation for inadequate, insufficient services that have been paid for.

When your booking with deerhurst resort, your overpaying for a room you can get at any regular hotel/motel with subpar service and customer care.

Great place for a conference had a lot of fun and the resort staff are friendly and helpful.

Fantastic resort to stay at. The employees are somewhat rude and make smart remarks to themselves and think people don't notice but all in all nice place

A beautiful resort in middle of the Peninsula Lake. The landscape is nature at its best. There is so many things to do like hiking, swimming, golfing, tennis, beach, kayaking. Did I mention the splash park,! giant inflatable trampolines for everyone. The rooms were great, service was excellent. I would love to go back there

The place in the woods but a great place to hang out all year round. The best time to go is on the fall where you can see how the leaves changes into a beautiful colours. The place is so nice and comfortable. There is a kids section where they can play as much as they can. The pool is located on the main area. Check out the latest condo where we check in and you will feel more at home. The place is so clean and well maintained. Definitely a place to remember.

Very nice and beautiful environment. Rooms were a bit outdated, but they were very clean. It's great for weekend getaway, either you are a grouo of freinds, couple, have young kids or have teenagers. There are some activities for everyone:)
