Over the years, nay, decades I've stopped into this local curiosity. It has been only a little over the past decade the city has put a lot of money and resources in to it. You can spend hours just trying to see all the exhibits then walk over to the Carillon Brewing Company for a drink and bite. It is The Place to get up to speed on all things Dayton. Perfect setting for the Concours d'Elegance Car Show but I'll miss the German Picnic.

This was a chance encounter; wasn't planning on going there, glad we did. Well laid out and attractive. Each building offered a excellent view of life during that time. Good for adults and kids. I think a must see.

I've been going to this historical park since I was very young and I am amazed at the additions and expansion it has gone through in recent years. If you are from the Dayton area or visiting from another state or country, you will find the exhibits and historical background on display absolultely fascinating. See how Dayton impacted the entire world at Carillon Park.

I recently go 3 howlers to try out this brewery to try with some friends. We all tried the Beet of my Heart, Berlinner Weiss, and Irish Red. I liked all 3, but the Berlinner and Irish Red were definitely the favorites among the whole group.
The atmosphere inside was great, seeing the fire and the copper pots they use for their brewing process made the whole experience. Definitely going back.

This is an awesome place filled exhibits, indoors and outdoors, that explain the history of the area. I had no idea that so many innovations we enjoy today were invented in Dayton, OH. The two live re-enactors at the out buildings could be a little more engaging, but the printer at the print shop made up for their lack of enthusiasm. The exhibit of the Flood of 1914 was so well done and informational. The carousel of innovations was really cute! Where else can kids ride on a bag of Iam's dog foot, or on a can of root beer? Overall, the museum covered so much history that it was impossible to take it all in on one visit. We will return to catch what we missed.

Lots of new stuff since I was there last. They have automaton people that look very real and talk to you. The 2013 displays of the 1913 flood are very good. However, I have trouble finding a current up to date website when I search. Also, my daughter and I enjoyed a Victorian tea at the Patterson Homestead this year, but now cannot find anything that refers to the 2013 tea schedule. I can find all kinds of things that refer to past years but not this year. Very frustrating. Have the teas stopped?

It was pouring rain as we tried to visit the Christmas event before it closed Dec. 30th.
Although we didn't get to do that, we did enjoy the Brew House. We had an exceptional experience and plan to go back to see the park and to eat at the Brewery again.

My daughter s school visited this huge Museum today! It was so organized and there were those who were extremely knowledgeable to walk us through each area and explain what everything was and the history behind it. I would say so much more, but honestly if you want your child/school to learn about technology and even school teachings and how it all began, this is a wonderful start! I especially enjoyed the teacher and I can t for the life of me remember her correct name! She was so professional. Explained how classes were conducted back in 1905 I believe and the school was the actual school brought from Springfield, Ohio. She was dressed as they would back then and I myself learned so much about the way the teachers and the students were to act! Yes students were disciplined with the paddle back then if something serious were to happen. Teachers were shown more respect back then too. I will stop right there...just a wonderful place to learn he history about our innovations today! Check out their website!

Not at all a youthful experience, food is bland, beer/sodas are flat and not very flavorful. The 1800's environment, outfits, zero music, and less than attentive staff do not make an enjoyable atmosphere. Customer base is on average 80 and older, on the weekends standing room only. I get that it is a historical location, given it more than one chance, not impressed,..

The exhibits are all very well done. The animatronic show is nicely prepared, with a couple surprises. The indoor carousel is a nice touch. However, it always seems to be difficult to find someone to run it. The small outdoor train ride is especially fun. It's only $1 per ride and it goes for a good amount of time for that price. The eagles nesting on the property is another delightful surprise!

A true asset to the Miami Valley. Carillon Park showcases the history and innovation from Dayton and the surrounding areas. We have gone many times and there is usually something new. I was amazed with the changes and additions this visit. Always nice to go back.

I kind of consider this one of those hidden jems. This is really a wonderful place, if you like history there is plenty of items, and there is enough entertainment bits even for the kids, especially if they are running the mini trains you can take a ride on. We've been visiting here with kids since they were under 5, and now they are in their early teens and they still enjoy things in the park. The other great item is they keep updating items, they really are making it better each time we visit. There is also a really cool historical food/beer/brew on site. There's a carousel too, it is indoors so even on the worse of Dayton weather days can ride. In some ways I hate to talk the place up too much as I don't want it to become too crowded. HA!

The Deed's Carrillon bell tower graces all of the park with enchanting music when lucky enough to be around at those times. The historic park can take days to view. Just too much to detail here ~ look it up if you are headed to Dayton . And of course, stop at the new brewery for a likewise historic surround, great food and beer made on the premises.

I try to make a stop at Carillon Park anytime I'm in the Dayton area. Pleasant, quiet, easy walking, very accessible for wheelchairs, beautiful old buildings, and makes learning Dayton area history come alive.

Very well done. If you like history, you'll love this park. There is so much to see that you can't go through it all in one day. Admission price is very reasonable. This was my 4th trip to the park and I always see something new.

If you are wanting to see what Dayton has contributed to the world this is the place to be. Explore the outside museum and exhibits. Also a turn of the Century Working Brewery Exhibit. Eat lunch or enjoy several of the on site brewed beers.

This was a great place to visit to learn the history of Dayton Ohio. It will take at least a full day to go through it all. The museum is spread out in little historic buildings spread out over the park. Each building had it's own story and mini museums inside. Well done.

I thought I lost these pictures which is why it's taken so long to post them, obviously these are pre COVID. It stinks too because we had literally just bought our season passes that day, got to see the eagles and everything. What a wonderful way to experience Dayton's rich history, hope to go back someday!

I had no idea there was so much stuff to see in this park. I don't know how I hadn't heard about how cool it was. There is a ton of stuff showing Dayton inventions and Dayton pride but tons of historical stuff. Plus slides and great kids areas.

10+ years I ve been visiting my best friend in the various Dayton metro cities she s lived in, and just this summer she takes me Carillon?! Here I was thinking Dayton was the lamest place on earth, when in fact history would suggest quite the opposite! Not only is this a SPRAWLING outdoor park, but there are loads of historic (and replicated) external buildings, exhibits, and artifacts. The Wright aviation exhibit with THE original airplane is an amazing sight to behold. The cash register collection is fascinating. It s so cool to walk through the transportation building and all the vehicles. We didn t leave enough time to casually stroll the grounds whatsoever, but getting a glimpse as we walked between buildings was more than enough of a dangling carrot to bring me back for more. Definitely plan a half day here, not just a couple hours. A true GEM in downtown Dayton!

Year around a grate place to visit and to take pictures and a walk.
From the old DP&L clock to live eagles and even a visit to Rike's down town to eat at Culps a visit is a delight. And the Bells summer or winter are a grand sight to behold. Hearing the rings in the Christmas season is an experience you will not soon forget. For me it is my history.

You will not be disappointed.
