This is a great place to spend the day. Make sure the weather is nice because it's all outside.

What a great place. Interesting buildings with great displays. Great for kids to see some of Dayton's history.
Went to Carillon Brewery... Even with covid rules in place the food, location and brews are very very good!
Yesterday we went to the Rail days event and it was a lot of fun! Its a great place to take the kids!
Carillon Park in Kettering, south of Dayton, houses exquisitely preserved historical buildings. Among these historic structures is a replica gristmill.
An exterior wooden waterwheel is turned by water pumped up to the flume to emulate a functioning wheel. Inside the mill building there is a display of wooden gears and a set of millstones. The display is based on the mill equipment found in the Staley Mill in Miami County.
The mill building is the residence of Carillon Park's site manager. A visit to the mill display will provide you with an exciting opportunity to see a preserved covered bridge constructed with a rare Warren truss that spans the old Miami & Erie Canal. Carillon Park also offers antique trains, an old school house and many authentic historic structures.
This place is so awesome. I LOVE dayton, and this place holds so much history!
Really only went here to see the Wright Brother's deal (sorry NCR and all your beautiful cash registers!) but did spend some time in the gift shop where there are some really cute and interesting items.
Wonderful place to learn about Dayton's past. Very family friendly and fun.
Beautiful historic park with all kinds of events year round. Get your kids out the house
Family enjoyed this place. We bought a membership and plan to come back.
What a great place for some Dayton nostalgia! Wonderful spot for a walk and to catch a nesting pair of bald eagles!
Amazing Dayton history, delicious food, fun for a casual afternoon and also stimulating for your mind. Learned so much about the 1913 flood, the local inventors, and gives a new appreciation of the city of Dayton and its rich history. The tiny train kids can ride in the Summer and the Christmas activities in the Winter add even more to have fun with! I love how they keep adding more to Carillon Park.
Christmas. Beautiful with buildings to explore and keep warm
Unexpectedly amazing. I tell everyone about this place!
Great place to visit and some amazing facts and sights.
A wonderful holiday experience, roasting chestnuts was a hit as I've never tried them before.
This place is absolutely fantastic! There is plenty to do both indoors and outdoors so don't let the weather stop you! I grew up in Dayton but moved away in 1988, but still come back every few months. Had never seen the park before. It is truly a GEM I'm the Gem city!
New additional exhibits & soon to open larger exciting new Culp's Cafe ya gotta go to experience it & the rest of Carrlon Park!
Impressive little historical park, includes the 1905 Wright brothers airplane.
Beautiful, easy to get around, wonderful collections of historical items and well presented.
Carillon Historical Park is a great place to go to learn about the rich history of Dayton, Ohio.
Wonderful place to visit. Much more to see and do than expected.
Nice place to ride bike and spend quite quiet time.
This a phenomenal place to explore and to explore with children. It to mention the opportunity to see a bonded pair of Bald Eagles up close.
Absolutely amazing place to eat The brewary restaurant has great food. The museum an all the pretty lights was so beautiful it was worth every penny. The parking lot needs to be lit up my 70yr old mother tripped over the curb an almost broke her nose. The emergency medical team were great.
Awsome n beautiful tree. Inside main building you will go back in time to meet Col.Deeds Mr Ketteting. Also a display showing McCalls magazines n learning about past business. Stop by various shops n historical places. Restaurants: Brewing Company n charming Culps Restaurants.
Everyone should go take your kids you're dad Mom brother sister LOL everyone should go lot's of fun and supports our community....
Went to the brewery. Sells beer by 4 oz, 16 oz., 20oz and flight of 4 while in house. They were making the coriander ale when we got there and got a live demo and the people were nice enough to give all of us a free sample to try.
This museum is our favorite in the area! Planes, trains, and automobiles with the perfect amount of walking for the kiddos. There's a train to ride on outside a few scheduled days a year, but there's always a carousel in the main building. There could be more interactive activities, but I think they're working on a couple new attractions in the next few years. They're building a new wing with a new cafe based on a historic lunch counter from the Dayton arcade. A wonderful education in the rich entrepreneurship that made Dayton, Ohio what it is.
So much to learn about Dayton! The village is a remarkable step back in time. Meeting the many inventors in person was an unbelievable pleasure. You'll need to go to see what I mean. A spectacular merry-go-round and beautifully made cash registers. Learn all about the Wright Brothers's interesting lives. Our grand kids loved our visit.
I recommend visiting for the holidays and I'm sure it's fun any other time of year. Be sure to bring a dollar to get a coin for the carousel ride
Carillon Historical Park is a conglomeration of several museums and historical sites. It is a truly lovely park with lots of walking and picnic tables for a great day with kids. Further, the park hosts several concerts and festivals throughout the year making it a great location to come back to all the time. It is a wonderful place to explore local history and get in touch with local societies.
Wonderful Dayton treasure. A great place to take your family for the afternoon. The kids love the train rides and indoor carasell. The museum shows a history of Dayton. Cute gift shop as well, which is not too expensive.
Very good . Very knowledgeable people .We were very well looked after.
Beautiful piece of history.
Highly recommend going during the Carillon Christmas event. A wonderful, festive family night.
Awesome museum, learned a lot about Dayton and the surrounding areas that I never new. There was some serious money spent on these displays.
Actually had breakfast at Culp's. Great new spot for them inside the main building.
Very nice place to take the kids and take pictures and lots more
Good place to take some middle aged kids for a cool historical information. Good mix of indoor and outdoor, took about 3 hours at a moderate pace.
Great presentations! Special effects like water and wind during them but don't worry it's soft wind and only a few droplets of water. Amazing exhibits including the Dayton Flood, Wright brothers museum, and different things about the history of Dayton. Cheap prices and absolutely excellent food and drink at the brewery next door
My wife and I took two of our grandkids to the grand illumination of the Carillon Christmas Tree! With 20,000 lights, this wonderful display is visible from MILES AWAY, and the illumination brings people from far away locations!
Just visiting the gift shop is exciting! So much to look at...
Loved it! Fantastic visitor center! Great memorabilia from Dayton's history! The animatronic show was so well done.
Lots of Dayton history. Plus the Carillon Brewery. They brew beer just like in 1850. The porter was exquisite; velvety and silky on the toungue with chocolate and malt with a hint of smoke. Dan will gladly tell you all about the brewing process. He clearly has a passion for what he does.
WOW, this place was amazing. It costs $10 but lots more to see than we expected. A full museum inside about all the item that were born in Dayton. Then there is a full collection of buildings, trains and wagons, National Wright Brothers museum with their actual Wright Flyer 3. The first plane they flew under power. We also got a national park stamp for the passport book. There is a restaurant and brewery attached. Great place for the whole family. They also have a large collection of National Cash Registers.
Excellent place to spend the day and learn about history
It has changed slightly since I was there last, 40 years ago. Still fantastic and kid friendly.
Great place to walk around on a nice day. Baby changing stations in all the bathrooms. Wish they had better food options. No real vegetarian meal options even at the brewery. But the beer is great and brown street is close!
Edit** there are now several vegan/easily made vegan food options at the brewery! Changing my review to five stars! We also loved Carillon Christmas.
Very nice place to visit, especially Christmas season with all lights added
What a great experience over the Holidays. Unique, Informative and Beautiful!
The Carillon Brewing Company at the park gave me a drink with a dead fly in it and nobody there seemed to care.
My root beer had some added protein in the form of a fly in it. It was near the bottom of the glass and I did not see it until the level of the root beer was below it and I had drunk most of it. I pointed it out to the waiter, and as he took it away his only response was "oh." He or no one else ever offered any apology or even a replacement for it. The most amazing part was that they then tried to charge me $4 for it.
Even without a fly in it, I do not recommend their root beer. It did not taste like root beer. And I am still feeling a bit nauseous every time that I think about seeing the dead fly in my glass.
The facility is very nice, the food is good, but the service and sanitation are highly lacking.
Like the flood museum, bicycle museum, bike shop, wright brothers plane and the trains.
Great historical park... Lots of interaction. But should not cost so much. Especially for Dayton residents. Also super site to watch our eagles. But really... Price needs to lower so it's affordable for families.
An amazing museum about industry and inventions. Why doesn't this place get more publicity. Highlights: original 1905 Weight brothers flyer, a working 1800s style brewery and restaurant, a working print shop, and much more.
Quiet and interesting. Could have more highlights. Relaxing to sit out by the bells.
A lot of history. Informative and educational. There are many hands on examples of life in the 19th century.
Great for kite and radio Controlled Aircraft flying, as well as it being historically significant.
Nice museum lots of info I didn't know about local history
