I don't understand what you're doing here, as he wrote below, it's a consulate, an embassy not some Mc Donald or Starbruck. my passport expired and so I sent an e-mail, I was ordered within a week, everything was handled without any problems and quickly, within a month of submitting the request I have a new passport, again handled without any problems. all employees are pleasant and very professional. and that they may be unpleasant at times, I would understand, because even during the few minutes spent there, I did what they have to solve for the nonsense from our citizens, so perhaps no one can surprise them.
Not possible to reach via phone and not possible to visit in person. This servise is a joke.
Worst embassy impossible to reach anyone on phone. You can call 2 weeks in different times u will still not reach anyone. When u email them they say they will reply within 7 days sometimes the reply took month and sometimes they completely ignored my email so I had to text them again. Appointment take months. To make a passport around 5 months what a disgrace!!!!

What a smooth experience today! Needed to change a passport so I wrote them an email to book appointment. Within an hour I got reply with the confirmation. I got there at requested time & date and I was seen nearly immediately. Ten minutes later I was on my way out...

Sure there is space for improvements but if you follow the instructions and actually read what they say you will get exactly what you were told. Does it take long to make some documents? Yes and they would always give you a worse scenario estimate - I usually got everything much faster. Do you expect "meet & greet" of 6* hotel (Where you pay not little money for it)? Then forget it, their job is not fun to deal with frustrated people leaving everything to the last minute and hoping for miracles. Yet they were always polite, friendly and always helpful.
With attitude of some people going there (for whatever reason) I actually admire their patience with them.
Do you know what is the booking system for? I am sure it is not to come late. Yes it takes me some time to get there as I am not from London, but with a little bit of planning and making some time reserve (you never know what can go wrong) it is fairly easy to make it in timely manners. As to communication I must admit I don't really have any experience via phone - I always use email and I always get the answer. Not always straight away but again you usually get auto-reply which gives you an estimate.
Horrid... Impossible to get through to the them on the phone (they don't bother answering) and not allowed to come in to make an appointment. What a joke... How is this even possible???

Rada bych touto cestou podekovala pracovnikum ceske ambasady v Londyne, zejmena pak pani Alici Navratilove za pomoc pri reseni meho problemu. Hlavne jeji vstricnost a nadstandardni ochota poradit mi s postupem mi pomohly urychlit byrokratickou masinerii, nastavenou ceskou legislativou. Dle meho nazoru, pri poctu pracovniku ambasady delaji co mohou.
Na Ministerstvu zahranicnich veci jsem se primlouvala o navyseni poctu pracovniku londynske ambasady. O problemech vi a vedeli a to je tak vsechno, co jsem zmohla.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all employees of the Czech Embassy in London, especially to Mrs Alice Navratilova for her exceptional willingness to help me resolve my issue. She helped me speed up the process tremendously (which normally takes forever thanks to the bureaucracy of the Czech Republic).
In my opinion all employees of the Czech Embassy are doing maximum to help everyone, the problem is that there are not enough employees.
I contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and suggested that there should be more employees working at the embassy in London. They have heard complaints before, (they are aware of these issues) but they are doing nothing about it!
I renew my passport on 3/7. And get it by 3/8

Getting a criminal record form is horrible. You have to go all the way down to London during peak weekday time (meaning the train costs are sky high!!) just to get a piece of paper!

I don't know what happened before, but things definitely improved since last reviews. I had a good, professional service today. All the staff was very helpful, friendly and efficient. The whole process went smooth and easy.
Absolutely useless service!! I'm in hold now for 25 min and still counting... Their answer phone has numerous options which at the end all direct you to their website. I doubt anyone is a actually sitting there.
Nobody picks up the phone. Impossible to speak to anybody and arrange a meeting.

the worst embassy in Europa! I cant belive that you have to contact ministerstvo zahranici CR to get very simple @mail answer regardin simple consular task. And even than you have to wait JUST for appointment more than 60 days !!! plus extremely long waiting time to sort out passport. Average procedure that normal people would expect from embassy will take over 6! months just to get new passport. WHY WHY WHY ???
For many months I have been trying to register for a voter. I was three times, and they never recognized any of my proof of address because of stupid little things. Without it - even when I speak Czech, I look like a Czech, I have a Czech passport and a citizen, and I express myself that I live and work here, so it is not possible. Proste horor. Fuck it. Let's call Babis and Zeman. I have no nerve for this embassy.
Great communication, swiftly arranged an appointment for my DD s birth certificate. Very helpful stuff and great location. Very pleasantly surprised how efficient the Czech consulate in London is.

Someone does not even get there and when they get there in the middle of the day, there's nothing wrong with them because they're not there. If you are not from London, then you can go to the CR to rip documents and get it cheaper.
Very unprofessional people work there, arrogant and rude. Arrived 10. Minutes late due road work I have call them and leave message I'm run late. The way how they spoke people is shocking.Also absolutely ridiculous is they know all your name and details about you - but we are not allowed to know they name.

I thought embassies are supposed to help the person with their application rather than trying to find even the tiniest detail with their application to reject it immediately.
The person behind the counter miscalculated less than 90 days between the date I requested to travel and the expiry of my Residence permit. She proceeded to reject my application right away without even looking at my papers...
It took me by shock initially because I thought she was right, and I was worried that I will have to miss my sister's wedding in Czech Republic. I realised 2 days later that she miscalculated, and I had 91 days left between my travel date and Residence expiry.
When I chased them about this, they replied with a generic quote from their site...

Would rate 0, but not an option...how can you be calling from 9am - 12 pm, day in/day out and your call is not answered (in 3 hrs).
No answer to emails either, except automated reply that my email has been placed in the queue and will be answered within 6 working days....sent my 1st email 30th August. This must be the most ridiculous service I have ever experienced...anybody knows where to complaint further???

Open just one hour afternoon for picking passports. We traveled from far after work, were stuck in massive traffic, I was 10 min later. Somebody were waiting in the car with my baby but when i entered embassy the lady behind the desk would not have it. She let me wait for over an hour. No understanding what so ever. I asked her politely, please i have baby in the car but nothing. The customer service is terrible!!!!! Why open one hour afternoon only? Why one person working here only? That is absolutely redicilous!!!! Worst service i have experienced in long time!!!
Awful experience. Unprofessional employees. Being full of themselves and using their authority to make you feel like second class citizen. I just hope that they will open new embassy elsewhere to make me feel confident with any thing I will come to discuss with them. I do not recommend visiting them in London at all.

I felt in a communist country! Discriminated, disrespected, they are rude and rush. There is no kindness at this place in any level. Hope I never need to came back there!
Warm and friendly staff with hardly any waiting line on both occasions I went. All information and documentation pertaining to the renewal of my Czech passport was accurate and easy to complete (give or take 4-6weeks was the timeframe). I don't understand the low ratings?

We need to sign a document and I tried to arrange an appointment.
I phoned the embassy. I was told to phone a different number after 10 minutes waiting.I waited another 40 minutes for their answer. Nobody answered the other number.
I emailed about our urgent appointment and an automatic email came back that they will deal with the message during next 6 days.

A real throwback to the days of communism and making work for the sake of making work. Three seperate trips from the Midlands just to renew a recently expired passport...have these people not heard of Royal Mail. They make you an appointment, confirm it by email then claim you don't have an appointment when you turn up. Difficult to get through on the phone and they want 7 days to respond to an email. A paradigm of inefficiency.
Inside the Embassy is reminiscent of a 1970's Job Centre with no public toilet and indifferent staff. The building itself resembles a Soviet concrete office block and is the only embassy I have come across that doesn't fly the national flag outside so visitors can more easily spot it.
For me it is for one. Although I waited for half an hour for a pre-arranged appointment .. but took a photo and cut it out without a problem. After ten years they nailed the bulkheads.
To be honest after reading these reviews I was quite shocked. I can t complain at all!! People at the embassy were really friendly, helpful and really pleasant especially mrs kouskova. Excellent service by email and in person.
I can't really complain! I needed emergency passport for myself and my son. We got next day appointment and that was between Christmas holiday! They are really strict and not mega friendly, but I got what I needed without any problems. Thanks to the Czech Embassy employees we were able to go back home for New Year. So thank you!!!

Despite all the big fuss about Czech uprising against communism and bla bla freedom and democracy all was sbout few mafia men to buy few diesel german cars... PEMEX owns the police, PEMEX makes the laws, PEMEX set the money rate, PEMEX is more untouchable than the Czech president. Welcome to the PEMEX Embassy in London.

Not sure if you ever been to any other consulate but there are far worse. I had to deal with them on multiple occasions and there was never a problem, they were helpful and polite, always replied promptly. Yes waiting times are long and could be improved
I haven't been so ashamed of being Czech for a long time. Nice guy at the entrance. Mila lady from slovakia. And Mrs. Ourednice again shone like a star. Pretty girl and instead of having fun smiling and perceiving the world from another perspective, so she minds cap on her head. Leveled in prehistoric times. Skoda bare young soul. Perhaps it is even in how luminous buildings must spend time. But will we? I do not care, because across the street at least flail excellent goat Peace
Ive been trying to reach this embassy via my mobile phone between Monday and Wednesday this week between 9am-noon. I called at various times in vain, It was "busy" or I was put on hold which didn't go anywhere. Today, Thursday, I called at exactly 9am when they open and I was left on hold from that very time till noon (!!!!!!!!!!) without being attended to, I know sounds unbelievable! I'm not sure what's wrong within their system. It's easier to reach the White House then this embassy. Alas I'm not shocked there is such a low rating.

Awful experience. After being emailed to collect a long awaited documented and then waiting for ages in an overheated room to collect it, I was then told that they couldn't find it. Unbelievably poor organisation from an embassy.
Totally wrong what you put on the Czech Republic website about the visa because on the website it said blue one travel document under 1951 geneva is doesn't need visa within 30 days I confirm it booked a ticket went to airport they didn't allow me to go prague because I have to get visa. Funny embassy ridiculous. I booked a hotel and booked a ticket all goes to bin. I have never ever trust your people and never travel to that country.

Staf is OK and have knowledge to do their job. I am satisfied with the services because they are not waisting anybody's time. It is Czech's culture to go right to the point and it is without English graces but staff is not impolite. The European culture is not to demand respect but to earn it.
This is the worst embassy I've ever heard of. It took 7 months to get the birth certificate and passport for our baby.
My son has dual citizenship so the other passport was done in 2 weeks and birth certificate in 1!
The staff is rude, no one answers the phone, and emails are answered after several weeks.
I hope that i will never need their emergency services as I doubt that someone would even answer or help in any way shape or form.
I envy the Slovaks, their embassy, and the services they get there.

Try calling them and you will get no answer. They always send you their response email af the end of the busniess day and most of the time it will just be links to their website. Even if you ask a very specific question it seems they do not know the answer. And when you actually go seem them they will tell you, you don't have all the paperwork because a paper was forgotten or they don't have enough information. Even after we tried calling and emailing them.
We've been to the Czech embassies in Chicago, New York and this one. And this one next to the Chicago one is probably the worst.

I had no problems with the embassy staff, they were nice and willing to help. But you waiting time ... HORROR! I understand that it takes some time to process the document, but it is almost impossible to contact the embassy. I have been waiting for an answer via email for at least two weeks and today I lasted more than two hours on the phone line (I suggest changing the "on-hold" music .... Mozart will be disgusted after such a long wait ;-))
